Amazing pasta and pizza in a well thought out space. Staff are super friendly and the vibe is chilled . Highly recommend this place! Can't wait to come back
Fantastic tasty food friendly staff and awesome wine and beer selection - i will return
Lovely meal here tonight, pasta and pizzas just st went down beautifully. And some great beers on tap too.
Super tasty authentic pasta and the most impressive #Sours beer list I have come across in Melbourne. Joshua and the staff are super friendly and love to chat about their passion for good food and beer - I will be back! :-)
Walked past and walked back to check it out. Omg Best service, best pasta, best vibe. I had the fettuccine cherry tomato basil olive oil it was absolutely Devine will definitely come back.
Really friendly service and pasta to die for! Would happily eat here every night. Side salads also worth ordering (buffalo mozzarella is amazing!).
Cracking food, and super accommodating for kids. Can't wait to go back and have a crack at the ton of different beers available.
Fantastic pasta, great sauces and mind-blowing beers. Not to mention the owners/staff complete package. No pretension, just a focus on awesome hospitality. The gem of the west.
Plus a sweet little back lane open area to enjoy a summer tinnie.
Loved the cherry tomato and buffalo mozzarella in olive oil sauce with spinach and ricotta ravioli. Great service too. I'll be back
Love the pasta and the selection of sauces are fantastic but the staff really make it a great experience.
Great service, great food and a massive selection of craft beers that will blow your mind
Best pasta and pizza in Footscray hands down. I get the salmon spaghetti here regularly. Great vibes, quality food and friendly staff
I cannot believe I haven’t been here more often! The food was so delicious I didn’t even take a photo, I just had to inhale inhale it! The pancetta pappardelle pasta dish was so amazing, I could have eaten an entire pot of it to myself. The pasta and sauce were perfection and made well, the pancetta was smoky and added a different texture to balance out the soft pasta. And don’t even get me started on the tiramisu! Beautifully infused mascarpone cream in a cute little glass, was portioned perfectly. I am totally in love!!
Good, quick and happy service with a large selection of beer on tap and bottle
Good advice for food and beer
Great location
But no soy milk for coffees
What an Italian beauty in the west! I felt like I was in the heart of Lygon - the pizzas were amazing with just the right amount of toppings/seasoning. Pastas were full of flavour - the cream and garlic based sauces tended to be more saucy, whilst the tomato based ones such as beef ragout were a little drier. This had little effect on the quality and taste - will be back!
Went here last week with my husband and six year old. Glad that I know now that i dont have to travel to lygon street for good pasta and pizza. We had the cabonara, 3 cheese pizza and papadelle beef ragu. Everything was perfection. Loved it! my 6 year old demolished the cabonara and for all its hip vibe, they were so nice to my daughter. I appreciate little things like that.
This place is kinda underrated, I wish it were more popular. The pasta is so good. I love the carbonara and beef wagu. The sticky date pudding is really really good. I won’t give 5 stars just because the pasta itself is too al dente for my like even when I ask for softer pasta.
First time we ate here, we waited a while to have our order taken, but once we ate the pasta, the night ended up being great.
Pasta was some of the best we've had in a while. So went back the next week. This time the service was much faster. Pasta was still just as good.
Will be back for sure to try their other options and whatever specials they got available!
Will also have to try their pizza and desserts.
Well worth the visit.
It is always a pleasure coming to Fox in the Corn. Lovely little restaurant that makes delicious pizza and pasta!
It is a great place to visit if you need a quick pasta fix. The prawn pappardelle was make perfectly. It is one of my favourite pastas.
Would I recommend Fox in the Corn to family and friends? Absolutely!
Would I come back to Fox in the Corn? Sure will and sure have!
Dinner was good!
Staff Presentable and I felt the food was delicious = to the great service. I am sure to be back soon when I arrive next week
Fox in the corn used to have smaller portions but upon coming back years later they’ve dramatically improved. The carbonara and the wagyu are to die for. They also have great beer options and beer taste testing too which was fun.
Fox in the Corn is a great little eatery in the centre of Footscray, one of the only places serving up Italian. The pastas are delicious and generously sized. Super creamy and cheesy. A bit too intense for me to finish the whole dish, but good to try ★★★. Slow Cooked Beef Ragu $21. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
This place makes a pretty decent pasta. However, on an occasion I went with a friend who couldn't eat any pork or seafood. Couldnt try some of the dishes i wanted to try. We had the pizza which was okay and the pasta was nice. Ambience was quiet and clean.
Wish I could give a 3.5. The pasta was a 4 - we had the gnocchi. Pizza was a 3. Fairly average - portion wasn’t the biggest and was just okay. I would definitely recommend checking this restaurant out for the pasta. Staff are lovely and the restaurant has a nice vibe!
Fantastic customer service. The hot chocolate is so nice and rich. I also had the beef ragu which had very tender and soft beef. Great textures but a lack of flavour. We also had the smoked salmon pasta which was average. A bit pricey for the quality of the food but the atmosphere and service was fantastic.
Amazing quality pasta, flavours were fresh and tasty! Simple and straightforward, winner!
Really good value for money. The restaurant seating is very nice and open.
I loved this little place. The food that I had was great my pesto ravioli was perfect portion size for me without getting too full and I could still fit in dessert haha. But I loved it. The staff were friendly which is always a good start to service. My boyfriend ordered pizza and some how wasn’t a huge fan of it even though he is normally satisfied with anything. Our desserts were simple and mine was a little dry but overall it was great

Nice Ragu reminds me of etto. Pizza and seating brought this place down a touch a nice alternative around the area to 8bit and the Vietnamese restaurants
The absolute best chocolate cake I've ever eaten
Everrrrr...honestly... all chocolate lovers should meet there...
Little over the top on balsamic on their pasta.. but....
Gnocchi was fluffy as and sauce was also creamy with lots of flavor seasoned well.
Ragu was wholesome and all serving sizes were plentiful.
Thanks.....
Ignore the one-star reviews here. I'm a spoiled Collingwood lass who's moved to the west and I am so grateful for giving FATC a go, it's up there with the hits of the west such as Cobb Lane and 8Bit. The pasta is great... Probably the best I have had in Melbourne in a very long while - I would probably only rate a top-end restaurant such as TipOO in the city above it. It's my go-to delivery option - tomato-based sauces such as the puttanesca are a sensation. I wasn't as impressed with the mushroom, but I'm not a cream-sauce pasta kinda girl. The ONLY complaint - and I've seen it mentioned several times in reviews here - are the portion sizes. The ravioli, for example, is tiny if you get it delivered, so I stick with the spaghetti. It's quality over quantity, however, so I don't want to complain too loudly. The staff are lovely in the restaurant too and the beers are great. Not game to try the pizza - I can't tear myself away from the puttanesca (I'm sure the ragu is similarly great, but I don't eat red meat).
Good food, great beer with a huge list and great locals, but this place is really let down by the lack of staff and service. Ubereats is great, but servicing them over the local tables, not walking the tables etc, just makes this place a rarely return for me. Will come back, but overpriced given the service really, but that beer list!
Very nice fit out, delicious spaghetti with beef Ragu and nice garlic pizza. Recommend for a stylish but casual delicious night out. Would be better if you could have pappardelle in the make your own pasta section.
Funny I went here on the opening wasn't impressed but then I read ones review to visit again surprise it had improved .as if they got a new chef.
Price well its just ok
Quality was good
Staff friendly but still a little bit arrogant
Unusual location if u close your eyes u can miss it.
I didn't think footscrey would host such a shop and still hold a punch of flavors .

Would I go back hmmmmm
Alone yes . To impress a girl .no
Love this place for its pasta! Second visit. I had spaghetti with the beef ragu sauce last time, and the pesto sauce this time. Fabulous. Best Italian food I've had in Melbourne. My dining companions were equally happy with their choices. The craft beers seem a little pricey, but you can try a taste first to ensure you select one you'll like. Wonderful service: friendly and relaxed, done just right.
Yum yum yum! Who could ever turn down a place that serves pizza, pasta and craft beer? This place serves simple but delicious comfort food.
The added bonus is there little room out the back, Honeycomb Hideout which serves $5 tinnies and pizza- it made our wait for the table much more comfortable.
What can I say.... YUMMM! Have been here a few times and really exited to see some new things on the menu. My friend had the Chilli Garlic Prawns with pappardelle , myself has the Moroccan lamb with pappardelle and the pomegranate syrup really topped it off. 2 great dishes that I want AGAIN! Service was friendly, and the beer paddles where what we needed. Thanks again for another great evening . We will be back once again with a few more hungry friends.
Always friendly service, plus the braised beef pizza and spaghetti carbonara are both next level. Just beware that it gets pretty hot at the tables beside the windows on hot afternoons! I get Uber Eats from here pretty frequently and it's always still hot and delicious when it arrives. Hit it up!
I've been here twice now and I always get the slow cooked beef ragu. Both the pasta and pizza form of it is rich and full of flavour. Some of the other flavours are a bit bland but I would always come back for the beef!
My partner and I bought takeaway from Fox In The Corn tonight. I ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli with the mushroom and leek sauce, and my partner ordered the beef and vegetable ravioli with the homemade Napoli sauce. We both agreed that it was one of the most delicious pasta dishes we've eaten in a long time! The ravioli were al dente and tasted fresh, and the sauce was flavoursome. The only reason I'm not giving them a score of 5 is due to the meal sizes. We are not big eaters by any means but when we got home and opened our containers, we were disappointed to see they were less than half full. For $18 a pop, I'd expect it to be at least half full! Needless to say we were both still a little bit hungry afterwards, but we will definitely return and dine in. The photos I've seen look like the portion sizes aren't always this small, so we will give them a second chance...
Ordered the beef ragu spagetti. The beef was so soft and the flavours were great! Friend ordered the cabonara which they said could be better. I would still love to come back again.
It's been on the list for ages, and finally we popped in. Thankfully it's still owned by the same people. It's a fantastic, chilled and tasty idea and does what it does well. Pasta and sauces from what we all tried were fantastic as was the service. Decor is a little tired and the pizza wasn't great but for what you pay and the vibe you get, it was excusable. Overall a solid 4/5. We will return when we need a pasta and cannoli hit!

Okay, so the last few posts have been mostly about pizza and pasta.
I don’t have a problem, you have a problem if you’re getting sick of Italian food.
Sorry, ever since my visit to DOC something within me clicked and I can’t help but find every piece of bread with cheese and tomato sauce within a 20KM radius and devour everything on sight. Which led me to Fox In The Corn, nestled in Footscray not too far from 8Bit. I’m always for more culinary diversity, especially in my neck of the woods. Footscrazy, here we go!
The diversity of Footscray food (beyond Ethiopian and Vietnamese) is still growing. Eventually there will be one restaurant for each cuisine. At the moment, there's a few pizza places but only really one pasta one (that I know of at least) and that's Fox in the Corn. It's reputed for serving fresh pasta from a place in Williamstown. Given the recent fresh pasta eaten in Argentina (

Fantastic. I had the margarita pizza to start off with, and it was great. The quality of the ingredients really spoke for themselves.
Slow cooked beef ragu with spaghetti was also excellent and the serving was generous.
The selection of craft beers was impressive and went well with the pasta on offer.
Special shout out to Will for the friendly and insightful service!
The pasta here is amazing. My favourite is the beef ragu - don't forget to add some chilli oil which is available at each table, just kicks it up into the perfect soul-warming winter dish that fills you right up. Service can be a little slow but always friendly.
First time at fox in the corn, staff were really chilled and friendly. Was attended to straight away and had our drinks come within 5 minutes. I ordered the carbonara which only took 15 minutes to arrive. It was really delicious pasta, they've done a really good job in creating pasta that tastes like the authentic Italian type. Carbonara tasted beautiful, they didn't overflow it with cream like the majority of restaurants do. Only thing I can criticise is there is constantly Uber eats drivers coming in and out and standing outside which is a bit annoying, other than that I can't fault it.
Will definitely get my business again.
Highly recommended
We simply cannot fault this perfect little pasta restaurant that we enjoyed on a Saturday night. The homemade pasta was fresh and al dente which went perfectly with the sauces we ordered: creamy carbonara and slow cooked beef ragu.
Hands down this has got to be the best carbonaras I have personally had and I loved every bit of it. The Beef Ragu was also very delicious with minimal faults
All in all, Fox in the corn is one of, if not, the best pasta restaurant around town.
Early dinner on a Saturday. Got in just before the 7:30 dinner rush. Beef ragu with ravioli was rich with a huge tomato flavour. I loved it! My dinner buddy had pizza & enjoyed it. Local beers on tap and a huge array of boutique & craft beers to take home.
Dinner here was excellent - a simple idea of choice of pasta, then sauce. My spaghetti carbonara was practically perfect, and The Vegetarian's ravioli napoli also went down a treat. Garlic pizza to start was a taste sensation. This is truly simple food done extremely well. Sadly, not such high marks for ambience (lots of large booths which are difficult to get in and out of) and the evening sun is intense, although they did drop the blinds eventually. Lastly, a smile from staff wouldn't go astray. They were doing a roaring trade via Foodora and Ubereats, which is how we might indulge in this yummy treat next time.
Came here for some good carbonara and was really impressed. The pasta was delicious and the panchetta was nice and chuncky. I like the layout too.
Pastas were good slightly above average, ive ordered the mushroom cream and leek which was a tad dry for my liking but was very flavourful. Also had the mozzorella and tomato salad which was lacking some dressing.
Revisited this restaurant yesterday and really enjoyed my food. There’s more to chose from the menu, I got the lamb pappardelle which was delicious!

Fox in the corn opens til 11pm which is awesome cause we were feeling hungry for a second dinner that night. Pastas were well cooked, flavours were quite strong; I found the creamy sauces a tad too creamy and thick, the red sauce was good though.
A bit pricey for pasta but servings are generous.
Sometimes it's the simple combinations that excite us the most. Fish and chips, fried chicken and beer, eggs on toast, ham and cheese, the list goes on. Hiding in the quiet streets of Footscray lies Fox on the Corn, with a combination which will probably surprise you that there isn't more of it.
Pasta and beer.
Two pastas, nine sauces and the beer is taken to the extreme with eight on tap and a few hundred bottles.
The interior is as simple as the menu with a lightly stained timber furnishings, white walls and black ceiling and floor. The bar, counter and kitchen in one corner of the space, a series of booths wrapping around the front edges, a large group table in the middle and the takeaway beer shelving in the other corner. Adjoining the rear of the kitchen is a small courtyard-style bar named Honeycomb Hideout with a beer selection and pizzas, entrance is via the rear of the building from Dennis Street.
Food offerings starts with the choice of fettuccine or ravioli pasta, with the further choice of a spinach and ricotta or beef and vegetable filling. Sauces include classics such as creamy carbonara and napoli and some more hearty options such as slow cooked beef ragu, smoked salmon and pancetta with leek.
The pasta is even made by the owners' other venture, a pasta factory, although this has temporarily changed due to a fire at the factory.
Olives, jamon, a charcuterie board and some side salads are also available.
The fettuccine with slow cooked beef ragu was ordered on this visit. It's difficult to fully describe what good pasta tastes and feels like, but you just know. The beef ragu was rich and flavoursome and fell apart in your mouth.
Dessert options include cannoli, cakes from Sweet by Nature and ice cream from Gundowering.
Fox in the Corn is also open for weekend lunches with coffee from Monk Bodhi Drama, hot chocolate from Monsieur Truffle and a range of leaf tea available.
Now for the beer. The eight taps constantly rotate with a general selection of a lager, pale ale, IPA, dark ale, sour, fruit sour, wild and cider. Over 200 bottles are also available to dine in or takeaway and organised by genre in the extensive menu. Owner Josh knows his beer and knows it well, and provided advice on choices and a mini sampling journey. His home brew and shrubs also make appearances from time to time.
Fox in the Corn leads the way for quality and extensive beer selections in a restaurant environment, where wine usually reigns, and it is hoped more follow suit. In the mean time, the venture out into the westerns suburbs will certainly not disappoint.

Outstanding pasta and worth every penny
The chorizo pizza was also a table favourite , so much so that we ordered a second one to share
Great beer selection - just wish they had more of a wine selection - definitely worth a visit 👍
Over in Footscray town, lots of new little food places are popping up. Not sure how long this one has been around, but Fox in the Corn looks pretty new, bringing the combo of craft beer, pizzas and pastas to the scene. Premises are quite swanky. I had a look at the current menu online and it seems to have expanded since I visited, which is great. I felt the narrow menu at the time made it a less complete experience.
After a hectic week I just felt unwinding with a creamy pasta and tasty pizza. Ordered the spaghetti with the creamy mushroom sauce and a pumpkin pizza. The pizza was simple and soft. The pumpkin on the pizza was really thin, not over killing the cheese and delicious pizza dough. I would have liked to choose more pasta options instead of just ravioli and spaghetti but my friend told me that their pasta factory sadly burned down and hence their options have taken a cut due to that. Nevertheless, the spaghetti was cooked well, I felt my sauce was slightly dry but I fixed it up with the chilli oil available on the table. To conclude, I like this place, its simple and flexible, the food is good and I will definitely come back.
Easily one of my favourite places to go and have dinner and some drinks. The Pasta is amazingly good without being complicated and the beer menu is never ending! Place would be perfect if you weren't greeted (and farewelled) by that stupid leaky air conditioner above the door!
Freshly made pasta. Fresh, vibrant and intense sauces. Unexpectedly large craft beer selections (yum!). Reasonable prices for the quality. Although serves can be a bit small for pasta addicts, so consider an entree and bread.
Ultra cool venue. Service is a little inattentive during rush hour, but not too bad. Overall a fantastic find, well worthwhile for a visit!
I'm now a fan of bocconcini and rocket thanks to Fox In The Corn's Buffalo Mozzarella Salad. Highly recommend the Spaghetti Slow Cooked Beef Ragu (pic). Not so generous with their take away portions, but nonetheless very tasty pasta, will definitely be coming back.
Food and drinks great. Service about as fast as a stoned Snorlax, because the staff are more alternative than d'arcy wretzky's leggings. Now I'm padding the characters out.
You wouldn't think of Italian food it comes to Footscray, you just wouldn't. Packed in the midst of Vietnamese and African restaurants, FITC came out with a simple concept - do a tight pasta menu well and serve it up with a good array of beer. And it works. My spaghetti was al dente and served with lamb ragout was delicious. The starter of simple jamon and buffalo cheese was elegant. With a modern and plain interior and priced at good value, FITC in on to something here. And judging by the packed house I guess sometimes you just don't feel like pho or injera bread, even if you're in footscray.
Yummy, hearty pasta that is well priced. Cool tavern vibe but order a beer and your wallet will take a beating! Some are $30 a pint! I know they are all local craft beers but unless you're a merchant banker, these prices are above and beyond most - myself included. However, you can find some beers for around $12- $15 if u scour the menu for long enough and the hipster staff are nice, so it's worth a visit.
This place is seriously good. One of he best places I have been to in Melbourne. What you need to know about this place: They have a ridiculously good beer selection. A bottle shop inside, taps that rotate regularly with a drink for everyone's favourite taste. AND they do the best pasta I've had for a really good price. Choose your pasta type, then choose your sauce type. Amazing place, it is a must try! Plus he guy that owns it knows his beers so well, have a chat and find out more about what you like about beers. Their beer selection comes from all around the globe.
Today I tried Fox in The Corn after is was recommended to me by a colleague. I had the creamy carbonara which was delicious; great flavour and quite generous portions. I would definitely recommend trying it.
Good pasta. Large servings, I mostly eat entrée size dishes. There’s just one size here. So I was really full. Food came out fast and was yum!
Nice choice of beers and drinks.
Very spacious and family friendly. They have high chairs as well 👍
Fox In The Corn Footscray is a modern, almost Scandinavian-like venue with it use of wood, light colours and clean lines. This simplicity extends to the food menu which consists of, apart from a few starters, a choice of pasta and sauces.
Visited tonight with my wife and son (1.5 years old). Was a great experience, and nice to find a venue of this caliber in the west. Staff were friendly, and even made time to play with our son - that started the night off on a positive. Beer selection was great with some pretty impressive brews that you would never find in the west (plus a huge selection of boutique beers you can take home). Food was delicious. Carbonara was great, with cooked bacon - not the raw bacon most others do. The ragu was sweet with a little kick (people who don't like chili beware, as it does have small hint of chili, though my wife enjoyed it and she hates chili). Pasta was a generous serve, and I walked out feeling well fed but not bloated as I have elsewhere, so that was another huge plus. The espresso coffee was very unique, with sweetness and no bitterness. The bean was a single origin, called Monk something... (I really need to pay more attention). Not something I was use to, but definitely worth trying. Overall, we will be back again. Great work guys - good to see people investing in the west, providing quality food at very reasonable prices. Thank you! :)
A simple concept, pick your pasta then pick a sauce. A nice place for local pasta. However on a hotter day, be prepared as it can get pretty warm inside with only one air conditioner.
A pasta bar located conveniently in Footscray, we were immediately greeted by their friendly staff and was told that there will be a 20 minutes wait. We managed to enjoy the beer while waiting at their bar tucked away at the back of the restaurant which was really nicely decorated. Food wise we ordered the beef ragu and creamy mushroom fettuccine, both dishes are cooked al dente and the sauce are packed with flavours! Will definitely come back again for more.
Beautiful pasta and amaaaazing selection of beers! Located conveniently in footscray, I took my boyfriend here for a late lunch. You pick the pasta you want, and then choose from a range of fresh and delicious sauces. There's also a...
Great service, thanks Clem😊. We had fetticini pancetta, basil pesto and carbonara all incredibly tasty!!impressive selection of beers (tasting paddles if you can't decide) and to top it off a delicious Tasmanian dry cider!!!do yaself a favour😍
Had the oven roasted veggie fettuccini, must say the sauce is jam packed with flavour and the pasta was al dente. I come here once in a while when I crave Italian and can't be bothered driving to Lygon as its a top Italian place within the west side. There's a lot of vegetarian options as well
After meaning to visit Fox in the Corn since it opened about a year ago we finally made it down on an early Autumn Friday evening. the street front is fairly unobtrusive, with subtle branding on the windows. Inside there are a combination of wooden booths along with some longer timber tables in the center.
I ordered the beef ragu and polished the whole lot. The portion was very generous, the beer selection is fantastic and the service faultless. Will be making this place my regular.
Went around when they first opened up and the pasta was delicious. I've tried the Beef Ragu and the Creamy mushroom and both tasted delectable. The house sodas were lovely as well.
Fox is my new local when I can't be bothered heading into the city. It says a lot given their speciality only pasta and beer. And I'm not huge on beer. Why?
The cafe decor fit out with a lot of wood (must've been on sale).
Pastas are a hit, me likey. Had the ravioli and salmon which was heartingly good (never mind the pic that makes it look a bit like vom, but its really good!). It's a good chill joint as there aren't many nice places as such on the West and open late for a drink. My only gripe is the beer menu that is very very extensive. Sometimes less is more, and I always end up feeling overwhelmed whenever I get that massive drinks menu . Only suggestion would be to streamline it or have some sort of top favourites (of the week/month?). I get it may be a journey, experience etc to interact and for the staff to display knowledge but it is still overwhelming nonetheless. *Cue paralysis by analysis. Lucky the staff and owner are waaayyy nice and always happy to help.
A very decent food and drink premise for the west!

Would we go back? We'd happily revisit for the fresh pasta dishes, and the extensive range of delicious craft beer. The environment is relaxed, and the staff are lovely to boot, making for a wonderful way to unwind!
This place is consistently excellent and is a fantastic addition to the Footscray food scene. Friendly and efficient service. Delicious and generous pasta serves, I've tried most of the sauces and have not been disappointed - my favorite is the simple yet superb fresh cherry tomato, although the richness of the creamy carbonara is to die for. Great wine list and extensive beer menu to boot. Very yummy hot chocolate, these guys make a mean coffee too.
When someone recommended this place to me, I honestly didn't know what I was in for. Entering Fox In The Corn, I saw kitchen and waiting staff looked like they were still in high school (or recently graduated from high school).
What I got was simply amazing pasta. This place will make your favourite, classic pasta and elevate it to new heights. Al dente. Creamy and smooth texture from the sauce. The best thing? The prices of pasta here, relative to the quality, are dirt cheap. All of our pastas were beautifully plated, I would confidently say it's on par with the plating and presentation found at high-end Italian restaurants. The service was attentive, efficient, and very friendly.
I would definitely want to go here again and again. There's a big range of different pastas to try and I look forward to my next visit.
The fox in the corn is a quaint and exceptional pasta bar! The service I have to say was impeccable with the staff catering to my needs when I asked for a soy cappuccino they went out an replenished the supply as they had recently run out. The coffee was amazing and well frothed which is hard to find in soy. I had the fresh tomato with fettuccine, it was a little on the oily side but I did not feel over full or heavy. Overall I would definitely go back to fulfil my pasta cravings!
Husband & I always walked past this cafe with ever giving it a try as we were always heading to something else. On a strip with only TWO businesses offering western food, I am always surprised that I don't see more people here, since the other option is constantly packed with young folks. So one Saturday, we decided to try it out for lunch.
We were the only two people in the cafe (apart from the bar guy and the cook). I don't know what I was expecting, but I wasn't expecting to be wowed. But our meals were WOW! Husband didn't adore his carbonara but I was quite partial to my order.
All in all, it was enjoyable and we'd return again with friends but it wouldn't be frequent visits. We would be able to afford it - Pricing - comparative to what's available in the local area, the pricing is high.
Came in on a Friday night at 7pm and there were plenty of seating available, which was very surprising given the quality of the food! Cocktail and pasta? Yes please! Staff were very knowledgable of the menu and are very quick with your order, our pasta came out in what felt like under 10 mins. Generous portions. For those who would like to escape the cold, busy lines of 8-bit, why not opt for a drink or two and some hearty pasta from Fox in the Corn? Oh and that sticky date pudding is delish (needs more ice cream though).
Pictured: Cannoli, Sticky date pudding, beef wagyu & creamy carbonara.
In an age that is fast-paced and prone to ‘foodie’ obsessions, pasta remains a mealtime favourite throughout the ages. It may send chills down the spines of paleo worshippers, but never fear, that means more for us naughty grain eaters. It’s the ultimate comfort food, made as simple or as decadent as you desire. From a simple spaghetti, served with olive oil, garlic and chillies, to the waist-expanding creaminess of a carbonara. For Footscray locals, Fox in the Corn is
Nice pasta with decent portions, good to see the West open a decent pasta joint. Got the Beef Ragu def Worth a try!! Extensive drinks menu for the alcoholics :)
Fox in the Corn is the manifestation of Joshua Murnane and Josh Bayne’s dream. Being both from Millgrove Pasta (a small gourmet food company producing snap frozen and fresh cut pasta supplying some of the biggest pasta bars in Melbourne) it only seemed natural to open their very own. With a love of coffee between them, the Millgrove boys combed through all of Melbourne and carefully selected Monk Bodhi Dharma as their boutique micro-roaster, for their direct trade, seasonal and mostly single estate coffee.
Fox in the Corn is certainly not 'just pasta'. They have beautifully simple sauces and fresh, perfectly cooked pasta...the way it should be.
And now they have a bunch of lovely beers on tap, what's not to love?
Absolutely my new favourite in footscray! Beer list is extraordinary for such a new place! Food is great and at the right time for this wintery weather! Fav beer - hardcore IPA. Fav dish - pork belly and winter broth.
Simple, delicious, addictive. We've been here more than a few times - it was getting embarrassing how often, so we had to cool it a little - because the food is really really good. The fit out is simple and clean, the staff are really lovely, and the pasta is perfect. Freshly made in Williamstown and cook al dente. The carbonara is a guilty pleasure but my favourite so far is actually the Pancetta and leek (beautiful thick cubes of pancetta). We end up rolling out of there every time.
Best pasta I've had in Melbourne.
PS: The blueberry soda is bangin.
Finally we managed to get here when they're actually open. Other than the very limited opening hours of this place, the rest is great.
Both the pasta and the pizza are absolutely delicious. The prices are reasonable for Italian. Atmosphere and decor are lovely, the service was prompt.
If you like Italian, forget Carlton and come here.
I had chilli prawn pizza and garden salad and both were super delicious. Went here on a friend’s suggestion and it was a great experience. Ambience is nice and so are the lovely staff. I will definitely go again. :)
The food was delicious and the service is perfect...suoer friendly staff and great ambiance... for Entrées we had Moroccan pizza with mozzarella and it was amazing ..we also had the garlic bread which was good... I ordered Ravioli Spinach and ricotta with mushroom sauce and I loved it.... my friends tried different dishes and they were all good.... try it and you will love it
I really enjoyed their amazing food and super friendly staff. Their Pumpkin sauce based pizza was superb. I also highly recommend the 70% Ecuadorian dark chocolate.
Quite good food. Wine was decent as well. Ambience is quite good, interior design is attractive, and service was quite friendly. Loved our experience.
