Absolutely delicious brunch, the food was super fresh and i love how they decorate the dish with flower petals and other cute details. Can’t wait to come back!
The coolest cafe in Footscray. Great place to watch the world go by.
Incredible service and the food was delicious. Also the best caramel latte I've ever had
Cute little cafe with awesome food and friendly staff. Thanks
I thoroughly enjoyed the food & the service was wonderful. It was a new experience for me & well worth it.
Friendly service, delicious food and smoothies! Love the breakfast and lunch menu.
Love this place, my only fave Cafe in the whole of Melbourne.
Food is AMAZING and Fresh.
Service is world class.
Best coffee in Footscray. Going to miss it the service is amazing and friendly.
Amazing menu, great service, excellent value and they serve the best poached eggs in Melbourne.
Staff are great, they're very friendly, food and drinks are amazing with descent prices, good to see a proper cafe in the heart of footscray
Delicious food, nice atmosphere, good service, convenient location
The best breaded fried chicken I have ever tasted!
Very friendly staff. Coffee beans are great. Got a soy flat white. Abit extra with the $1 soy milk however coffee is worth it. Didnt need to wait long for coffee
Used to be my go to cafe! Always ordered the southern fried chicken licken and its absolutely amazing! Customers are nice, small place but not a big fuss. Menu variety is great! Always coming out with amazing specials. the lobster benedict wasnt too bad! Definitely recommend this place though :)
Used to purchase a small latte and a toasted croissant every morning for uni. Best service I've had from a cafe for a long time. The coffee was refreshing and the croissant had a great amount of butter that made it that great pick me up before a lecture in the morning. Even though I don't go to the uni around the area no more, I still cannot match a coffee and croissant like Cafe Cui have.
Food: Eggs Benefit with mushroom & spinach + Bernie Mac and Cheese Lobster + Beef box burger
I really cannot fault Cafe Cui! As you walk in, the interior is modern and clean. The waiter who took our order was really attentive and professional. Most of all the food was deeelicious 👌🏼 The Lobster Mac and Cheese had generous amount of meat inside of the pasta and cheese mix, the shell was empty - just for presentation. The Eggs Benny was perfectly cooked, it tasted very light not like others I’ve had whether it tasted heavy. Lastly my partners Beef box burger, he said it was really moist and he’d definitely order it again. He was surprised a cafe could make a burger this good! Keep up the good work Cafe Cui 🙌🏼
PROS
Nice and comfortable inside seating area with good and friendly service. Monte carlo biscuits are an absolute treat 🤤 and good coffee.selection on grab and go deserts and breads in the display cabinet.
CONS
Booth seating material is getting a bit old and cracked but not a deal breaker.
FYI
well located across from footscray train station and one of the nicer cafe locations around footscray imo
Treated myself to a very indulgent weekday breakfast at Cafe Cui on Monday morning. I had seen pictures and looked at the menu and decided I needed to sample some of the lobster that seemed to be oddly prevalent on a Footscray cafe menu.
I eagerly ordered the Bernie Mac & Cheese Lobster. I was not disappointed as my little creamy pot of yum was served to me by one of the lovely staff. I slowly savoured every piece of my cheese covered macaroni and lobster and had zero regrets. Mr B went the LA Lobster Benedict. I little less pretty than mine, but still a well appreciated meal.
So many more things I want to order from this menu. Such a surprise given the location and the feel of Cafe Cui. Highly recommend giving this one a go. Get in there and indulge!

This new york inspired cafe serves a variety of your typical brunch dishes and a few different lobster menus. We got to try the lobster mac & cheese, queens lobster pasta and lobster roll. The brioche bun of the roll was outstanding. The lobster pasta was pretty good as well. We also enjoyed the mac & cheese but the portion is a little bit small.
Friendly staff, good service. Coffee was good too!

Heard some good reviews about this place and had to go try it out and honestly, it did not disappoint.
ORDERED:
Southern Fried Chicken Licken (MUST TRY)
The Lover Lover Lobster Roll (MUST TRY)
Definitely be back again for these!
Came here the other day for a late lunch and since the weather was a bit hot, we both decided to try a salad. I ordered the Thai beef salad while my boyfriend had the chicken Caesar salad. We both thought it was nice :)
"like a legit eggs benedict place" - bat~gf
I think it's kinda cool having a Vietnamese Cafe that serves all types of eggs benny. No complaints here really, enjoyed the iced viet coffee too.
Will come back for other eggs benny and burger lunches.
Great brunch food! Love this little spot hidden in Footscray, very modern decor, defs go to is the mighty breakfast but the southern fried chicken licken is great also!

Ordered the chicken Parma which came with chips and salad for $15. Parma itself was average, alittle dry, chips were a tasty shoe string variant and the salad was crisp and dressed in a nice balsamic vinegar. The coffee I ordered after my meal was definitely made with attention. The decor is really modern and clean. Staff were attentive and polite. Parking can be an issue but not impossible. Would definitely partake in another coffee, perhaps with a toasted focaccia.
I've been eyeing this face everything I pass Footscray. Finally got to try it on a really lovely day. The idea of incorporating lobster in things like mac and cheese and pasta makes my heart flutter. I picked the lobster roll ($20) and the Brooklyn Crispy Pork Belly Benedict ($17) with an iced coffee and a cappuccino.
The lobster rolls were delicious. Absolutely mind blowing. The lobster was cooked perfectly. The bun, salad and dressing was a great flavour combo. Pairs well with the free side of herb fries. For $20, unfortunately my greedy ass didn't think the portion size was close to satisfying. My hands are tiny and the rolls were smaller than my palm. I know lobster is pricy but I had a laugh when the dish came out because that's how tiny the rolls are.
The Brooklyn Benedict was absolutely delicious too. I love the pork crackling! So addictive.
Overall I love this place. The prices are decent, very much like most places but the lobster selection is steep. Worth a try if you want to splurge on brunch.
The coffee is very rich and delicious and I would recommend the cafe sua da (vietnamese iced coffee)! The interior of the cafe is very refreshing due to the plants and windows and there are a lot of space to move around etc. which is nice. Plus the staffs are very very nice, sweet and friendly. However, I find their bathroom policy ridiculous! My friend, who was desparate to use the bathroom, had to purchase something in order to use the bathroom.
it was very clean and nice looking. the people were very nice. i got a iced chocolate it was very nice but i hard a really wired after taste.
some of the menu items looked a little expensive for what they sounded like.
My best friend and I went to check out this modernized cafe and I really liked it. I liked how you open the windows during Summer. If you're a fan of Soft Shell Crabs, the Soft Shell Crab salad was really good and the sliders were yummy! I also ordered wedges and they were good too! They also do fresh juices and coffee. The location is very easy to get to and parking shouldn't be a problem at all.
Good coffee.. reliable and quick before u run for my train in the morning.... friendly staff.. cant comment on food as never got to taste....
Another review for cafe cui
Love their southern fried chicken licken
Their king Caesar salad was delicious! Except the portion wasn't for a king unfortunately.
As staff come and go, their coffees are always either a hit or miss. Some days they make the Vietnamese iced coffees perfect, some days they make it either too sweet or too strong.
Had the iced coffee today and it had ice cream in it however the milk wasn't cold which made the so called 'iced' coffee not so iced.
Used to come here very often but nowadays once in a blue moon just to support local businesses.
Take your lover, friends or family here for some good brekky and lunchin. But if you're unsure if you want coffee, then try their juices or smoothies, they're pretty good.
my fav brunch place in the west, often go here with bae on the weekend.
I always eat Lobster pasta here and order extra $10 lobster to satisfy my craving for lobster.
whereas, My boyfriend loves their lobster benedict:)
The place seems to be perfect, they got the whole good package (location, staff, food). until you use their bathroom:(. There is NO MIRROR in the bathroom and the pathway to the bathroom is quite filthy so this is a BIG TURN OFF for me.
Hence, give them a 4 rating overall
This place was surprisingly fantastic. We went on a quiet weekday morning but both meals were exceptional. We had the Eggs Benedict and the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Egg Bake and both were seriously delicious. I was shocked and have thought of the meals many times since we ate there last week - a sure sign of how good it was!! Can't wait to return to explore the menu further. Great fun (Melbourne style) fit out and superb coffee - Footscray desperately needed a great brekky joint. I'll be back VERY soon!
Cute little cafe in Footscray! Service was lovely and food was really tasty. Portions were big and the porter house steak we had was cooked to a nice medium rare. Salmon and poached eggs was lovely and not too salty. Pumpkin soup was abit too thick for my liking but overall a pleasant experience and will definitely recommend for anyone wanting a grab a bite if in the Footscray area.
Cute little place, good food, excellent coffee, great service! A charming little offering for a long brunch or a quick coffee while you people watch.

We usually go there just for coffee but after seeing lots of people eating decided to have have lunch there. The lobster roll was just delicious.two small rolls full of nothing much more than lobster meat and a bit of mayonnaise. Also accompanied by a small basket of fries. The smoked salmon in the Caesar salad was generous. I look forward to trying other things there.
The food and service was lovely; coffee has improved every time I come. Only let down was cold supermarket packaged ham… Add $4.00 to your eggs benedict and I don't mind paying $16.00 for the same meal with smoked butchers ham… it speaks for itself!
Came here for brunch and enjoyed it! Food were the standard breakfast/brunch fare and prices were reasonable too. Would probably come back here to try out their lunch menu if I'm in the area!
Cafe cui is a hive of activity right next to the Footscray station. The open front of the shop is sometimes a disadvantage with diesel fumes from the busses coming in but for the most part they have made a comfortable experience within a tight space.
The soft shell crab (sliders and salad) is excellent as is the refresher juice, service is attentive and the food usually arrives quite quickly save for the odd lunchtime rush. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Coffee is splenderific!!
Especially love the cold options.
Owner there even knocked off an iced chai one time after I requested it and described to her what it was.
:) very friendly. Recommended.
One of my fav brunch places... I probably come here way too often. My fav dish is the southern fried chicken hands down. Really crunchy and tender chicken, awesome sauce, salad and chips. I go there for this dish alone.
Coffee is nice too, de bella blend and the iced coffee ca phe sua da is on point too. The atmosphere is really nice, bright and clean looking.
I must note though that one of their female staff has really bad body odour and despite it being a muggy day on the day that we visited, she really needed to put some deodorant on or take a shower! The body odour was wafting in the air as she walked past and really tainted our last experience.
I ordered the Moroccan Spiced Chicken Egg Bake ($14). The eggs were perfectly poached as it oozed yolk. The roti was light and great for mopping up the sauce and yolk. The flavour was pleasant and not unlike a chicken curry my mum makes at home. I would have preferred a couple more dollops of yoghurt and more spices to make this an ultimate dish. The location is great since it's just opposite Footscray Station. Service was
Lovely little cafe right in the middle of the busiest intersection in Footscray.
Staff are welcoming, although it should be noted that even though they're open until 4:30pm, kitchen closes at 3pm!
Scotch eggs - generously came with 2 eggs, very flavourful and eggs perfectly runny. The accompanying asparagus was also cooked to perfection and the 2 sauces provided were just what the dish needed.
Cafe Cui Mighty Breakfast - Breakfast for champions, it was definitely hearty. The hash brown and tomato was a bit of a let down, would have loved to see a home made hash brown. The tomato was cut into an overly large chunk therefore didn't roast that well. However everything else was on point, mushrooms were very fragrant, good amount of bacon & sausage and eggs poached well.
Coffee - A++
Price point is also very reasonable.
Lovely staff and delicious food conveniently across Footscray Station. The menu offers a wide range of dishes and the Vietnamese coffee ca phe sua da tastes authentic and strong. I have come on numerous occasions with friends and family and walked away with consistent positive reviews. The macarons are also mouth watering, especially the salted caramel flavour!
Also tried their new menu! Lobster Pasta is amazing !!! The pesto and use of cherry tomatoes added a freshness that made me want to lick the plate clean. Scotch eggs and pork belly were also delicious with the asparagus, mushroom and capsicum sauce. Must try !
Cafe Cui is a humble cafe that prior to yesterday, I had taken little notice of. Here I am, second morning in a row enjoying the best Salmon Benedict I've had to date! The smoked salmon is velvety, the eggs are poached to perfection and the hollandaise is rich and delicious! Coffee is on point and so is the service. No wonder they get quite the crowd flock in and out. Prices are very reasonable so I Will keep coming back for a regular treat!
You can't find anything except authentic Vietnamese cafes in Footscray and not enough modern western cafes. Too much pho and Vietnamese Ice coffees and not enough of a nice latte with a carbonara pasta served for lunch. Footscray finally have a beautiful cafe in a perfect location just in front of Footscray station in the heart of the area.
Such a pretty little place! Had reservations for the smoked salmon/quinoa salad, but was pleasantly surprised. The herb fries for $6? Not worth it. At all. Not even a little bit.
Absolutely amazing. What a menu! I will have to be back to try everything. Not only was my steak sandwich the best I've ever had (all the right components, stacked in the right order with just the right amount of each) but every meal on every other table looked so good I would almost give said sandwich away for any of them. All of this to the beautiful sound of Frank Sinatra's voice at just the right volume.
Extra props to the staff, on the ball helpful and always doing something. No wonder the place is so clean! Bravo and see you again soon
Owner Phuoc Duong has chosen a prime location, with Cafe Cui situated across from the station and the 82 tram terminus. At first glance, it looks no different from any
Came in with a friend for lunch she had pancakes and I had the southern fried chicken, I must say very creative ideas as I've never had a coating like it but it works so well. The cornflakes coating is crispy, chicken is moist and the sauce is delicious
I also had a latte, coffee is smooth and creamy. I enjoyed it very much
Very reasonable price and portion
Will definitely recommend to others!
It's hard to find a resonably priced eggs benedict anywhere in Melbourne but the 12 dollar piece tag made this meal taste all the better. Great coffee aswell will definately be going back
Great food, great atmosphere, great location!. The southern fried chicken and lobster roll is to die for! Food was great and the shop fit out was awesome, if you're ever in the west highly recommend checking out this little gem nestled in Footscray right near the station.
Friendly 6am open. I was in the CBD at 5:45am hoping to find some breakfast at 6am, but nothing opened till 7am or 7:30am, Thank goodness for Cafe Cui. I drove there arrived at 6:01am and they were opened. The service was really good to welcome crazy people like me eating at 6am. Very friendly and the service was quick and fast. Food was good like always. Definitely recommending.
Pretty good. I've eaten a few times at Cui (enough to know how to pronounce the name!) and I wouldn't say I've ever been disappointed. Coffee is passable at the very least and the food is tasty, I tend to get the bacon & egg roll with coffee.
Unfortunately they have gotten a new barista as of a couple of months ago and he just isn't as on the ball. Coffee is still good, better than a lot of places around Footscray but it has definitely gotten more bitter. Also, while I've gotten away satisfied, I also take the safe route. I've had several friends go and order something a bit more expensive, only to be left wanting at portion sizes.
So fresh! Love the design of the place, food was great quality. A new local!!
Love this. Great coffee and just wonderful for people watching! The staff are always friendly and professional. I haven't tried the food yet.
Definitely coming back!. Had a lovely breakfast catch up with a friend here!
Conveniently located right next to Footscray Station, the service was friendly and fast.
Had Eggs Florentine with smoked salmon on the side and everything was perfect. Good coffee too. Definitely coming back here for more food!
Simply astonishing. Since t.... Simply astonishing.
Since the return of one chef I haven't seen for some time, this place has been uplifting with it new and exciting menu. A must place to be! If you are around this area.
The dish I had was excellent, order a pork dish which had this crazy dragon egg on top was to die for. Will be back soon cheer to the chef :) and owner!
Excellent food, Will be coming back soon.
Friendly service, great food. I had brunch here twice over the weekend - it's just that good! Although the menu isn't extensive, it has a great variety, making it difficult to pick what you want as it all sounds delicious. My friend said his mocha was the best he had in years, and all of the food we had was fantastic too. Very well priced, and the service was top notch as well. Will definitely be back!
Best coffee in Footscray!. Cafe Cui was off the hook! I can say with great certainty that their coffee is the best in Footscray, and one of the best in Melbourne. Though the menu may appear to be rather bland, the food was just as awesome. The chicken curry pan breakfast dish I had was one of my favourite breakfasts EVER!!!
Pretty decent coffee for the west side. Very convenient location to run to before work. Will be back :)
Awesome coffee, awesome service! Will def return
Agree with the other reviewers, this is just what Footscray needs. Great coffee, juices, pastries. However the seafood pasta and fish and chips were not great, kinda home made but in an instant type way, I would stick to breakfast and coffee. The barista is always friendly. Also it's not a good look to always have one or two friends of staff (who sometimes aren't even eating) taking up the four seater tables... In a place that size it looks unprofessional.
Exactly what Footscray needs-superb coffee, delicious cakes & amazing poached eggs to compliment the many culinary delights our suburb has on offer. Has become our new favourite!
Delicious Moroccan spiced chicken & poached eggs for breakfast, eggplant lasagne for lunch is superb, great coffee topped with friendly, speedy service. Very happy with Footscray's new addition.
Delicious breakfast will definitely be back again soon.

Although their Hot chocolate was awful and powdery, and their Capuccino wasn't made nice and frothy, I like this place because their desserts were great. Loved my stixky date pudding...yum! :-)
A great cafe addition to Footscray. Came in at noon and it got busier and busier as we sat and had our brunch. All day breakfast... Who can resist. The Vietnamese iced coffee was fantastic, reminds me of the ones in Vietnam. We had the mighty breakfast and oh dear mighty it was. Plenty of bacon and the poached eggs was perfect.. The only fault was the roasted tomato was a little soggy but it still tasted divine! Highly recommended. Lovely and attentive staff. I can't wait for new Footscray and all the other great cafés that will come along.
Great place and just what Footscray needs. Helpful staff, accommodating for little ones who need high chairs and yummy food. Only problems - way too much salt in the eggs, and a bit stingy just giving one piece of toast.

The staff were really friendly. My latte was creamy and perfect . The food didn't take long to come out and it was so delicious! Will be back again for sure.
Food, atmosphere and staff are 5 star. It's great to finally call a place home.
My new place to be. Went here with a few mates. Pork Sliders is probly one of the best ive had. also eggplant lasagne is great.
Excellent food & coffee. Friendly staff & great prices! Definitely worth a visit!
Cafe Cui's mighty breakfast is great! Nice and friendly staff. Good atmosphere.
Good quality food, great ambiance and friendly staff.

...Cafe Cui has proved itself to be a strong competitor. Located just seconds from the train and tram stop, the cafe is attractive to train and tram commuters with the exterior - inviting open windows and light brown timber, and the interior - small, modern and comfortable. The service is a bit slow which I was a bit annoyed about because it wasn't busy. The menu has so much variety, perfect for any cravings. ...The portions are so generous as well, as you can tell from the photo above.
