Amazingly tasty food!
We originally went to Sapa Hills for a table not knowing that Sapa sister is the same restaurant two doors down.
On a busy Saturday night we waited ten minutes for a table and got seated in a cool little restaurant with neon lights that is Sapa Sister.
We ordered the beef skewers and prawn spring rolls to start and the pad see ew and garlic prawns as mains. This was plenty of food for three girls.
The starters were standouts and the pad see ew with a smoky sticky sauce and rolled noodles was seriously impressive.
They had an extensive drinks menu and bar and the Frose cocktail which was specialed for the evening was so damn good.
A great place for Viet food with nice service. Would definitely return to try some of the other menu items which looked delicious.
Well decorated and designed outlet. Food was plated well and the servings were of decent size. When walking in I saw that the food was being made in Sapa Hills and then ran over by staff to Sapa Sister. Very modern and grundgy. Check it out if looking to splurge a little bit.
Nice Vietnamese place with a slicker feel than the usual Vietnamese places in Footscray! Yes, you will see food walked down the street from Sapa Hills, I am assuming that they are setting up the kitchen for Sisters and still preparing from the other restaurant- it’s kind of funny, yet it enhances the experience and it’s pretty impressive they make it work that way! Food looks and tastes fresh and delicious. We had the ginger and prawn dumplings, the lemongrass and chilli crocodile, and the spring rolls vermicelli salad. All very generous sized, and so yummy. We also ate a whole range of dishes with our eyes, and we saw them being taken to other tables. We’ll definitely be back!
First time here, food and atmosphere was great! Had the steamed barramundi, was cooked perfectly. As too was the tofu salad and the house special spring rolls.
Exactly the same as their Sister restaurant Sapa Hills though. In fact the food came from the same kitchen. It would be nice to have something different, just a little extra flair or something to distinguish the two.
Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Value: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sapa Sister is the sister restaurant of Sapa Hills with the same menu. Aside from presentation, nothing is special about the food.
I ordered the Broken Rice (Com Tam) and it tasted just like any other restaurant in Footscray. An area for improvement would be to have the grilled pork precut to eliminate the need of using a knife.
A great place if you are happy to pay a premium for better staff and dining atmosphere.
$48 for feed me option. Very accommodating with dietary requirements and favourite requests. Super friendly staff. Best of all food was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to come back.
Sapa Hills was full so we were quickly brought over to Sapa Sisters.
Service was definitely more on the efficient side than friendly.
Fried Fat Noodle, DIY Pork Roll and the Grilled Pork Salad.
I found the salads to be the best tasting part of the meals. Everything was fresh and crisp with a fish sauce like dressing that added saltiness and sweetness at the same time.
The Fried Fat Noodle had a good flavour hit with the 5 spice and a nice hint of chilli ( I didn't find it too spicy). However, the noodles themselves were a let down as they were served in clumps and not that silky texture that I was expecting.
I was in between a 4 or 5 star rating but I'm gonna go with 4 because of the pricing. I do believe the quality doesn't exactly match the price, still good flavours but not for what they are charging.
Also, not sure if it's just me but I thought $6.50 was a bit much for a Vietnamese Iced Coffee as it's normally less than that at most other restaurants in Footscray, however they did serve it in a tall large glass that wasn't just packed full of ice so it was justified - in case anyone else is wondering
Sapa Hill and Sapa Sister ...
Two cuisines coming from one kitchen ...
And this one, Sapa Sister is a modern compliation of South-east Asian cuisine ... brings a bit of joy seeing food being delivered from next door ...
Beef jungle curry, too much lemongrass and overly sweet ...
Silken tofu
Grilled chicken salads
Pork Belly, must reorder
Sapa special spring roll, the most authentic Vietnamese dish of the night.
Crispy eggplant, that was the highlight
Definitely it's not your typical Vietnamese cuisine ... and it's bloody good.
Great service, big smiles all around which is always nice to see. Food was delicious too - we had the sapa spring rolls, honey and pepper beef and, fried rice. All three dishes were delicious! They also had a really good drinks menu. We had the lychee and lime crush. The vibe of the place was really cool too with nice decor.
The food is incredible! Atmosphere is very modern and fashionable. I've been here twice abd they have so many vegan options as well. Dishes in Sapa sister are definitely on another level
Clean, great service and awesome food.
Sapa Hills new little sister, same same but different :) Food is very good, we were seated quickly, handed our menu and food was delivered quickly once we ordered as well. It tasted fantastic! They didn't have the beer I ordered but other than that. Loved the fresh vibe and a great addition to the streetscape of Footscray. Hope others take notice and lift their game in relation to presenting their restaurants.
