Review Viet Hotpot & Bbq - Footscray

Always have been a fan of this place for hot pot. Nothing’s changed. My best friend & her daughter’s took me out to celebrate my birthday. Tonight we stuffed our faces to our hearts content 😆 Fresh vege’s, heaps of meat & seafood. Great choices of soup, noodles & mushrooms. And then to top it off we had ice cream for dessert. I’m in food coma heaven now. The guy that waited on us was constantly checking in with us & was quick to serve, with excellent up beat customer service. Come & check this place out. Just ensure you make a booking because it does get packed really quickly & certain times you do pay for parking. $2.80 - $4.50 You might need to bring change as some parking machines have problems with bank cards.

What an amazing Hot pot place in Footscray. It was my first time in a place like that and since last night, I can’t stop to think about how many years of my life has been wasted. I love laksa soup and asked for one. They have crab soup, too and a lot of different stocks. I put in the pot all the seafood that pass in front of my face. I had a top up when the soup was almost half way and you can add veggies, meat, seafood, spices, noodles and all what you want to your stock. I totally recommend this place and experience. It is a buffet and has tables for big groups and barbecue too. Caster apple smoothie to en up the wonderful night!

Delicious all you can eat hot pot buffet. You can choose your own soup base, about 10 choices. They bring you plates of food and you can always ask for more. Hot pot train is also an option

Great little hotpot place. We sat at the belt, stuffed our faces, felt satisfied and then had some ice cream. Bia Hoi was much appreciated. So, we like it and we will be back.

Quality of the food was not really the best. Soup base was lack of taste. Last time I came, the crab soup base was really tasty but this time, it was more like just water. We were served with offals but it got wasted since we dont eat them, they should ask us if do we want to be served with them or not so they dont get bothered of plating them up and serving it to us. Limited choice dessert. However, staff were polite and attentive. Lots of choice for protein, veggies, noodles and sauces. Ambiance is nice. ☺️

I've been coming here for the past year and I couldn't recommend it enough. Affordable hot pot...and great options for the BBQ...

OR not AND!!! This is Hot Pot OR BBQ since you need to choose one or the other. Can't have both which is what the name of the restaurant suggests. At $43 per person for buffet you would think you could get unlimited refills of whatever was available but this is not the case. If you want another serving of blue swimmer crabs or prawns then you need to pay extra. The extra serving of other items that we asked for didn't taste fresh like the first serving. Not sure if we got the left overs from another table but this is what the second serving tasted like. Only the first serving was good. Dessert and green tea flavoured ice-cream was good. I won't be coming back here any time soon. There are better options for under $40 per person.

The BBQ meat was fresh, I loved their Kim chi and sauce. Service was nice.

Came here for the hot pot, Overall i think the experience was pretty good. We sat down at the table rather than the train. The staff was very attentive to us and brought us so much food and always asked if we needed anything more. There was a lot of variety of seafoods, fish balls and selection of meats. I would definitely go back, especially for that soft serve machine! :)

This place has the best beef, I find the other places a bit salty.

Good food, nice plate of seafood. Definitely recommend the crab broth, it was amazing. Could do with more variety on train, there was a couple plates of nice stuff but easily same old came around and around. Waited for it to load up with more things like quail egg, enoki, mussells but after the first plate there wasn’t any more.

Probably the best hotpot in the west, me and my girlfriend have been to many hotpot places in melbourne and by far Viet Hotpot & Bbq provide the Best Service, Quality food, Cater Big Groups, Huge amount of food to choose from also a good drink range and allowed us to have our gong cha with our hotpot too not many other places would allow that. Shame about the drama I see posted here, I have been to the other hotpot place down the road once and just wasnt as good as viets hotpot.

Came here on a Wednesday night for dinner with my friends for hot pot, my experience was enjoyable. The food was tasty, nice and friendly staff, and not to mention the owner as well was sociable. Would come back again to try Korean BBQ.
Renata Krupinska
One of the best hotpot places I have been to. Have visited multiple times and the food and service has always been fantastic. The place is always busy, they must be doing something right!!

Checked this place out with the family and it did not disappoint - we loved it! Great to see a good hot pot restaurant pop up close by to home. Came back a week later, and glad to say we'll be dining at this place on the regular!

Went with my friends to have Korean Bbq and thought it was great and delicious with various dipping sauces to choose from. I was delighted with the quality of food that I decided to take my family back the next day to try the hotpot and we were blown away by the quality and amount of food that was given and the service was great for the price we paid. The staff was very attentive, and kept ensuring we did not run out of broth and food. There was so much great seafood and my Dad absolutely loved it, which I know is a big call as he loves his hotpot. I could say this could very well be our new hotpot place to go.

Overall customer service was great and food was delicious! Would recommend to friends and family, I’d go there again with my friends and family. Thankyou for such a great dinner

Amazing! Highly recommend. Would 100% return. Meat was on point

Great food and great service! The owner is always courteous and gives us his time of day when we dine here. Everything offered is great quality and we have always left happy and satisfied. We dine here quite often and always share our experience to our friends through social media and have had many friends and family visit due to this. I normally don't write reviews on business pages, however felt the need to as it has become apparent that the recent negative reviews on here are malicious and are generated by competing businesses. This is very unfair and utterly shameful. If you have dined here you would know that it is a reputable business and the owners take great care in their service and quality. Our favourite in particular is the complimentary dessert and the fresh seafood a must try!

I went to chain chain hotpot once and my English and grammar became terrible overnight . After visiting the deliciousness that is Viet Hotpot and Barbecue I can now speak normally again.I left feeling satisfied with the amazing food that they serve. 5 out of 5 will come again.

awesome, what a great place and the way they deal with fake customer complaints is fantastic

This place is amazing. The food is always delicious and plentiful and we are always remembered from previous visits. I only wish I could post a photo here of the amazing meal we were served last time we went in. Self-serve soft serve is an excellent bonus. One of the tastiest foods in Footscray.

Fantastic food and friendly staff. Highly recommend

Been here for my friend's 30th birthday party. Service was excellent, didn't need to wait for long to have meat, veggie or even seafood to be filled up. Food quality could be rated at 5* with freshness and juiciness. A huge plus is free BYO Highly recommended to everyone.

Highly recommended! The food was good, portion was huge. Must love the fresh and tasty seafood here. Durian smoothie was way over expectation. I took my partner out for a date and it really impressed her! Would come back for sure! Any group of 2 or more should definitely visit Viet Hot Pot. The team here are just super ! Again, thanks and will surely come back !

Amazing spread of food on the all you can eat buffet ($30-$39) depending on what time & day. You get 1 abalone each, and unlimited noodle varieties, veg, meats, broth, seafood, sauces, garnished & ice cream/sorbet/jelly. Crab was amazing, as was sliced beef & pork. Recommend going with people that like to eat

This place was a pleasant surprise! My friends and I came here for bbq, and we found the place perfect for a big group (group of 6). We ordered two set menus, and the meat and seafood were all great quality and fresh. We loved the charcoal BBQ! We asked the staff to cook the meat for us, and he did not hesitate to do so. Thanks, Steven! We give 5 stars for service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Next time we'll be back to try the hotpot 😊

This place is insane! All you can eat hot pot 👌 the staff are extremely friendly and the food is always so fresh! Noodles and meat are so delicious. <br/><br/>Love the fact that they have their own ice cream Machine

So we had a xmas dinner last night over here. And i loved the hot pot sooo muchh.. i reckon you to get the tom yum and crab for the soup based since it’s soooooo delicious!!! Most of the meats are refilled, but the seafood is not. But for $30 all you can eat hot pot, you’ll get a lot of crabs, prawns, scallops, oysters, and squid as well. Which is very worthed. They also provide unlimited dessert and soft serve which is my fav too 😂😂 don’t forget to booked if you wanna come on weekend cAused they’re packed. Will be back forsure 🥰🥰

Where to begin, the restaurant itself is nice.. that’s about the only thing though I guess. The hotpot dishes are basic and can be found at various different hotpot restaurants, nothing really eye catching. The managing staff are the worst of this rating though, most rude I have ever come across. As a manager there should be some sort of customer understanding. Although Instead, at closing time we were rudely interrupted by a scream across the restaurant yelling “how long?” “You need to hurry up and leave” (even though he had seated us 20 minutes prior, making us pay $39 a head) forcing everyone at my table to leave stomachs half full and upset about how the night had been so invasively interrupted, Will definitely never recommend, and will never come close to coming back either. The 1 star rate is well deserved.
Food Fairy
This place is big and full of life. We booked in for hot pot and didn't know what we were in for but definitely excited. There's not much info on what you're going to receive besides choosing your base soup. There service is very quick and not long after we ordered the table was filled with plates of vegetables, seafood, meat and noodles. The seafood soup I ordered was tasteless but I also tried the laksa on my second visit and it was amazing. The overall experience has been great, but eating crab with no utensils is definitely not the best part. We tried to break it apart using chopsticks and forks and almost cut ourselves doing it. It's a fun experience and will go back.

It’s a staple in Footscray now when you’re craving AYCE hotpot!<br/>Staff are friendly, however there are times I feel they’re organisation on bookings can cause delays!<br/>Their food is great, it’s as clean as it can get for a place that serves bulk amounts of produce, it’s not a bad place once in awhile
Samantha84nguyen
Tonight was the 2nd time me and my family was here and I was VERY disappointed. We were there from 5pm-6:40pm and not once did any of the staff came to offer to top up our hotpots. They were all standing around talking and laughing to each other. I also realised this time that because the chair’s legs (including high chair) spread outwards, it was very difficult to move out of your spot for any reasons. This will be our last time here for the poor service alone sadly.
Withaknifeandfork
We loved 😍<br/>Who doesn’t love a buffet ? Better yet, a soft serve machine! We really enjoyed the hotpot buffet here. The Tom yum soup base is my favourite. There is an endless list of things to try here, from fish balls, various types of noodles, seafood and even Vietnamese desert!<br/><br/>We disliked 😖<br/>The bbq. The meat was bland! I would not come back for the bbq option.
Karen
Went here with 4 other friends on a cold winter Saturday night and man it was very busy. We didn't book a table but were placed into seats and then moved when they realised where they placed us was reserved already. We got a seat in the end.<br/>Our group had a half/half bowl with the crab soup and tom yum. Both were very flavourful.<br/>Unlike some other all you can eat hot pot they come deliver you the meats (lamb, beef, pork, offal) and seafood (mussels, abalone, fish, prawns, crab and scallops). Meat and fish balls were unlimited and the seafood you get a massive plate. In the center of the restuarant are the vegetables, noodles and fruit and the side is dessert stand. Overall for $39 it's decent, I just wished the sauces weren't so diluted in flavour.
Eat Good Melbourne
This local restaurant is good for cheap hot pot. I haven’t had the barbecue here but they offer a good variety of food from the hotpot train. You get your own pot and can choose from a variety of soup bases.
Virgil
A total bargain place!!! The service is quick and efficient and of course, plenty of choices for hot pot (ALL YOU CAN EAT). Choice to share two choices of broth, sauces, meat and veggies or decide to have your own individual ones (but book those tables beforehand). Definitely enjoyed it and would recommend going with a group. The hot pot experience is more fun with people to share it with!
JSJJ
One of our family favourites. Spacious and easy parking and more importantly the hotpot here is good. We haven't tried the BBQ here yet but it also looks good. You have about 6 soup bases to choose from. My favourite is either the spicy or tom yum base while my wife prefers the crab soup base. You help yourself to all the noodles (egg, hokkien, udon, rice) and vegetables from the main station. You also get plates of seafood, meat, offal, organs, quail eggs, tofu and more to cook in your soup. Finish this off with ice cream, fruits or Viet dessert and it tops off a nice meal.
Corey Busuttil
This was a really great surprise. We opted for the bbq which was cooked on charcoals and was actually great. <br/> <br/>Meat was plentiful and fresh, well marinated and tender. The charcoal grill added great flavour. <br/><br/>Came complimentary with the usual side dishes and sauces which offered free refills. We got the banquet which also came with rice and kimchi soup<br/><br/>The staff were attentive and friendly and even changed over the grill surface to make sure it was clean. Recommended!!

Pretty good hot pot their Tom yum soup base is tasty!<br/>Their variety of fish balls and fish cakes is so good and they also have decent seafood compared to other hot pot places 🤩

Good service, great selection of food including softserves and fruits. Fun having food go past on the belt and you get good privacy as well. Have brought many friends here who have never tried hotpot and ended up loving it.
Hungry Koala
Tried Viet hotpot for $32 on a weeknight. The Tom yum soup broth is my favourite. I like how they give crab, abalone, prawns with the meal and you can get anything from the train. They also offer che and ice cream for dessert. It was hard for me to eat crab legs without utensils

Finally my first HotPot!<br/>The room was quite spacious and was very busy on the Saturday night. The price was a little on the expensive side but was well justified. The variety of sea food was incredible but I was disappointed it the lack of meat options. “Only one meat option”. Strongly suggest to add more meat options and this place would be a 4.5 star restaurant. I haven’t tried the other hotpot located in the Footscray area to compare which is the best. In summary more meat options to justify the price.

Came here after reading reviews on Zomato and DAAAAANG they güd 4 realz (as u can see from the look on our faces). The staff was really accommodating and, above all, the food was great. The meal package was worth it for 35+??? AUD/person. We didn't even manage finish all of the food that came with the buffet package. The ambiance was lively too. It sure was a great dining experience to say the least! It's a must try!

Another cheap eat that worths your visit. The $25 lunch all-you-can-eat is unbeatable and it's only $35 for dinner. I always go for the crab soup base but all my friends are happy with their choices of base. The quality of the unlimited side dishes is reasonable for the price as you got what you pay for (here are all frozen). They even give ice cream or Vietnamese "che" for deserts but I never have chance to try as I normally have no room left for the sweets. 😋
Ha
Not much different from other average hot pot restaurant. Soup base was ok. Soft drink was quite plain. And the place was very hot it made it hard to enjoy the hot pot.
Lovelychazza
Been to this place for my friends birthday and I am not disappointed! Get unlimited refill on the meats and vegetables for the Hotpot and only $25 per person is a steal! You also get your own individual Hotpot so you can cook whatever you want to eat yourself. The experience was quite fun! Definitely will go back to visit again! :D
Tania
$39 per person, even for vegetarians. Menu doesn’t have price and staff don’t explain, even when you ask. We repeatedly told them that two of the four of us were vegetarian. They kept saying, just don’t eat what you don’t want. We got one plate of items for two people with some tofu, mushrooms and taro and were still charged $39 each. The meat eaters got seafood, offal and meat. Most expensive vegetarian soup I’ve ever eaten. The restaurant should be ashamed of themselves charging us $39 each and never explaining that was what would be charged for a vegetarian plate to share. I agree with other reviews. Eat al a crate somewhere else. It’s not worth the expensive piece. Even the meat eaters were disappointed for the price. For $160 for four people you could get a feast elsewhere
Flying Forward
Awesome value with the all-you-can-eat option (around $35pp), plus the plate of seafood with abalone is sure to please the Asian oldies.<br/>Quite a large range of individual soup bases available, but I prefer to go with a simple stock, as it will become flavoured with the things you cook anyway.<br/>The sushi train belt is also a bit of fun, as you can pick and choose whatever you like, from the large variety of hotpot ingredients.<br/>The venue is bright, clean and spacious, this is definitely one of the better sushi-train hotpot restaurants around!
Jessica Cumine
Selection was good. We got there a little late so even though we couldn’t pick what we wanted when we wanted the staff was more that hospitable to our requests. The downside to the place was the lack lustre soup bases, they lacked salt and seasoning and we didn’t even have any spices to add in. And the desserts as well could of done with a little more freshness and variety. Food wide I’d rate it a 3. I’ve made it a 4 due to the service by one waiter.

I went there for a baby’s 1st month party on Sat night. It is generally good. I am happy about the quick food service and large food quantity. The veggie and noodle are fresh. The seafood is OK but not as fresh as I expected. I like the ice cream and background music there too. This place is suitable for big group party such as birthday. The atmosphere is noisy around and joyful. I will come back and recommend people this place.

This place is my absolute go to! Probably been here >15 times since it's opened. The main reason why I started coming here in the first place was because I had great service the first time round. They would take away the plates regularly and check if we needed more soup. The food was fresh and there is a huge variety. The desserts are nice and I love how they mix up the icecream so it's not always the same flavour each time (Vanilla, Matcha, Chocolate, Strawberry) - also the icecream isn't the ordinary soft serve, like the strawberry has a little sour kick and the chocolate is richhh! I've been to Chain Chain's and wow this place does not even compare. Chain Chain's variety wasn't great, the place wasn't as brightly lit and the service wasn't up to scratch. <br/><br/>10/10 would recommend! It's also $25 pp before 3pm (you also get the seafood dish comprising of half a crab, one scallop, one prawn wonton, 2 prawns), after 3pm it's $35 pp and an abalone is added onto the seafood dish.
Sesame Eats
The all-you-can-eat hot pot train is definitely one of the most worthwhile hot pot places in Melbourne. You get your own stove top and mini hot pot that comes with some one-off seafood to flavour your choice of soup with (mine came with crab, prawn, muscle, and a scallop). The variety of food doesn’t compare to some of the more expensive Chinese hot pot places but you still get a decent pick. There’s also some basic ice cream which is a small bonus. <br/><br/>The good thing about this place is that there wasn’t a time limit (which a lot of all-you-can-eat places enforce) so you can take your time to enjoy the food. The only downsides are that the sauces could use some improvement and the atmosphere isn’t the greatest. Service was very good however as the waitresses were friendly and helpful.

All you can eat hot pot at a delicious price! <br/><br/>Visited for Father’s Day for a special treat. The place was packed! You have the option to have bbq, family style hot pot or even the hot pot train .<br/><br/>We had the family style hot pot. Everyone gets their own mini pot with their choice of soup. A large range of hot pot items from seafood fo meats gets delivered and if you want more you can order.<br/><br/>Really great place for big eaters! Everything was super fresh. And don’t forget to leave space for unlimited ice cream.
Jimmy Porich
For $35 you get all you can eat. Pretty damn good!<br/><br/>We sat at the train where ingredients come by as you want them, the waiter fills the broth as a top up, and you can walk to the salad bar for self-serve too (and get whatever sauces you want)<br/><br/>Working soft serve machine which is the first one I've seen in about 10 years.<br/><br/>5 star is based on the price for what you get, I've had a lot of average meals for 35pp which involve "meh" or same-y entrees and mains.<br/><br/>This was filling, great for chatting, stress free and tasty! People rating down say theres all you can eat for 35 at better places but I've not seen many around 🤷‍♂️<br/><br/>Maybe it's the novelty but I was impressed
Michael
Hotpot , shabu shabu.. viet hotpot buffet . This was the first time trying this style of hotpot but boy oh boy was it tasty. There is a good range of food and sauces to choose from. Once you finish , make sure you have the matcha ice cream
Cindy Tran
Came here with family since we heard of the famous hot pot wars between chain chain and viet hot pot. At $35 pp you get unlimited sliced beef, vegetables and dipping sauces with a complementary plate of seafood with ranging from one abalone, few prawns, mussels, scallops and crabs. <br/>Appreciated the bright interior, vegetable bar and some what appropriate sauce bar but seafood was frozen they had squid and it tasted like complete rubber I had to spit it out. Crab tasted like they were in the freezer for months. Frozen seafood can taste better than this. Broth was mostly made out of chicken broth despite we ordered CRAB AND TOM YUM, although Tom yum did taste quite nice. booking there was useless they didn’t even right down my name. I know people are doing to say “what do you expect from $35 all you can eat” but I can assure you with $35 you can get your self full with a much more delicious meal somewhere else. They bought out too much food and it felt like a total waste since we couldn’t finish it, mostly processed food were left untouched since they bought it out voluntarily and it didn’t look appetising at all. Not only did it didn’t taste as good as expected but it would leave such a big foot print on our earth seeing how much food that was wasted not only on our table but others as well. <br/><br/>I really regret picking our own table, going in the train is much more convenient since you can control the proportions since the plates on the train are relatively small. But on the tables they bring out too much stuff and it turns out you can’t eat it all. <br/><br/>$35 Pp All you can eat
The Superscript Diner
Things I love about this place: Large selection of ingredients to add to your hotpot; friendly and knowledgeable staff; very tasty broth (you can’t go wrong with any); good indoor decorations and large windows to allow natural lighting; bean curd dipping sauce was the best <br/><br/>Things to know beforehand: Best time to arrive for lunchtime is after 11am as they begin actual set up at 10am and you won’t get served until 11am; the induction cooker was not properly cleaned which made it difficult to changed the setting at times; cheaper for lunchtime buffet ($25) than dinner time ($35)
Jasmine
Food:🥘 All you can eat hotpot ($35)<br/><br/>Review: <br/>Better options and more selections than chain chain hotpot - especially when you get the opportunity to make a stupidly ridiculous overflowing matcha/vanilla icecream from the dessert table. <br/><br/>With a generous salad/noodle bar, you don't have to wait for the small portions to come around. Their sauce selection is a lot more generous and appropriate as well. Shout out to their Tom Yum soup base - classic and delicious. <br/>I look forward to coming back!<br/><br/>Came a 6pm on a Friday night and didn't need to book to get 3 seats at the hot pot chain.
Van Nguyen
Great atmosphere, great service and greater selection of food! You get plates of so much food delivered to you on your table and it is worth everything - it even comes with unlimited seafood! I recommend going for their Crab soup broth!
Munch On Melbourne
Ok to be straight up honest we booked a couple of tables for a celebration due to the infamous 'hotpot war', since being caught up in the facebook drama between rival Footscray conveyor belt hotpot eateries we needed to try them out ourselves and let the food do the talking, first being Viet hot pot as it was more inviting with a larger more modern setting. In the beginning there was a bit of confusion with booking but that was soon forgotten once we entered the restaurant! We were a large group but not the largest there as there was also another function, a childs birthday complete with a childrens entertainer which lifted the mood to a festive party ambience, the place was full and bustling, very busy in fact but the service was very present and attentive. We must thank Barry & Steven for being exceptional and accommodating hosts, nothing was too much for them to cater for us, their team of staff were also very good. The food! now I've been to a few hot potteries, traditional communal ones to conveyor belt trains, tasted many a soup base and picked at many a seafood BUT this place is on another level, special mention to the tom yum broth and crab broth both were lauded as favourites, the platters of assorted meats and seafood was plentiful and high quality, the noodle/vegetable/condiment buffet was fresh always replenished (could have done with oyster sauce & sugar as additional condiments but base's were pretty well flavoured just a suggestion as I'm used to adding those automatically) the soft serve ice creams for dessert was a fantastic palate cleanser, to make it super amazing I hope they add a dairy free sorbet option in the future for that of us who are lactose intolerant such as mango, lychee or coconut. All up a very hard hot pot restaurant to beat! since our first visit many of my party have made return visits on their own, as I will do very soon, overdue actually! the rival hot pot place better bring their A game because Viet Hot pot is a winner!

Fantastic venue for all the family. Excellent value for money. Our kids love cooking their own food. Went twice in the first week we discovered this place. <br/>

Have been here 3 times and its always good. Prefer lunch to dinner as its less crowded. Would be good to see maybe some spring rolls available as snack while waiting for the hotpot to boil but always a great selection! Keep up the great work

Went here with the family for a night out and we went for the all you can eat hotpot it was quiet fun and different to most hotpot places in Melbourne. We got served each a small plate of seafood and and all you can eat meat and vegetables not a bad place in the western suburbs

We came to this place on a Thursday night and opted for the hot pot train - is that what you call it?We had been meaning to try this place for a while and even more so after the blow up on social media (Footscray Hotpot beef/war).<br/>The interior was actually quite a surprise, nice, large and clean. The place was half empty which suited us perfectly. The place seems to be catering largely towards ethnic families and I don't know how I would cope with the place being full of kids as I would it would be loud and noisy but half full was just right. Atmosphere 4/5.<br/>We were greeted promptly at the door and asked if we wanted a table - as above we opted for the train. Rather than being told how things worked, I had to ask. Service was slow, I would hate to be here if the place was full. Service 3/5.<br/>I opted for the crab soup and partner for the chicken. The soup was okay...nothing special, my soup did get better as the night progressed of course. At the start you are provided with a plate of seafood. A half a crab, one abalone, two prawns, a scallop and a dumpling.  I wasn't a big fan of the scallops or abalone but the crab and prawns were okay.<br/>The train had a large variety of options - most of those I passed on. I focused mainly on the beef, mushroom and noodles; I didn't try any of the frozen seafood options or offal. The vegie bar and sauce bar is a really a plus to this place; and the suki sauce yum!<br/>Soft serve was great too. Food 3.5/5.<br/>The pricing I would say is pretty good for an all you can eat hot pot with seafood. This place really knows the local target market. Drink prices like most all you can eat places is absurdly expensive, and they also charge 2% CC and 4% AMEX surcharges. Value 3.5/5

Really enjoyed the hot pot dinner. After you order your soup base, a mini seafood bowl with 2 prawns, half a crab, a scallop and an abalone all in their shells arrives - you are informed everything here is all you can eat, except this. You sit at the train grabbing little plates of ingredients as you spot them - then get inpatient and head to the generous buffet of leafy vegetables, mushrooms and noodles in the centre of the room where the sauces are too. As you dip and slurp away, the soup boils down to a syrupy salty mess, and you look around in a panic for someone to top it up, before the giant kettle of stock appears behind you and the cycle begins again. You eat till you are completely stuffed... then have choc vanilla twin soft serve in a cone. Twice. Incredible mid-week value at $32. You will be back.

Came here the night before Mother’s Day with my extended family and friends. Thought the service was bad because we had to wait a long time for the hotpot sauce to arrive in our table. We had to ask three staff members before they came to our table to take our order. I guess they were busy but I think a thirty minute wait is a long time to make customers wait. In terms of the food, thought it was alright. Really liked how they brought food to the table and allowed us to get our own servings of vegetables.

Viet hotpot and bbq keeping it simple for a Sunday night dinner. Quick, affordable, spacious venue and all you can eat (for $35pp) - a university student's dream!

Went here for dinner for my birthday. Decent food and decent price. Abit disappointed with the sesame sauce as it was really sweet! Other than that will definitely be back.
José
I booked a table not knowing much about the restaurant, except for the current Hotpot war going on with another Footscray restaurant. You get a mountain of food to dip in your soup for just over $30 each, don't worry about MSG as you can order the soup stock without it. Seafood is frozen, but that's normal for Hotpot restaurants. Keep in mind this is an extremely busy restaurant with kids running around and that may annoy some. Service was mediocre, mainly because it was too hard to get attention from the waiters, but also because I had to re-order my drink twice.<br/><br/>I enjoyed my experience, something different.

No I did not come here because of the infamous hotpot Facebook feud, but holy this place is amazing!! The restaurant makes for great family outings. The place is very very busy especially on a Saturday night but we still had very good service. The staff are friendly and food comes out quite quickly. Not only that, it’s tastes delicious and they give very large proportions for hot pot and a VERY large variety of food. Theres even kbbq and hotpot train in the place. But what’s cool is that the place is family owned. And I respect that 👍👍

All you can eat buffet for 35$ per person over the age of 13. Two choices of soup bases; (I chose crab and mushroom) the crab is excellent. There’s a buffet for noodles, sauces, fruit, ice creams and vegetables. Loved the option of sugar snap leaf vines and the Cantonese chilli sauce. Very well put together establishment with nice wooden fittings tables and set up. Option of both hot pot and barbecue. If you run out of meat and seafood (they give you a set amount in themed platters) just ask for more. The patrons were very loud and there were a lot of children running around (due to the way under 13 for free rule), restocking of the buffet could be better and the waiters were hard to identify as some were and weren’t wearing the uniform. Visit if you’re in the area and very hungry.

Courteous service and very spacious. The soup base was good, but the selection of dishes need improvement. It was a good idea to have a vegetable/sauce bar in the centre for easy access. A great feed for a reasonable price, and a great place for family gatherings.
Just Being Honest
I’m not sure if my partner is willing to come back here, been here for hotpot and bbq honestly the only good thing was the meat. All seafood frozen<br/>Bbq is pass on the offer even if it was free, flavouring on everything just wasn’t right, not sure if that’s how it meant to be. Ordered extra pork but it was pretty frozen and with the four slices of pork on the plate two was fine other two they gave us the cut but it was just pork skin, we didn’t eat it. Squid cake to the table marinated but a big frozen tube uncut so once it was on the bbq it went hard a very chewy there wasn’t much to say about the rest.

I have tried this place for both a weekend lunch and midweek dinner. It is an ideal place to catch up with friends and really take your time. Both times I chose the tom yum broth and there are plenty of variety of seafood, vegetables, noodles and meat to choose from. I love seafood and really focused on that during my visit. I also ordered the durian smoothie and enjoyed the soft serve and dessert that was self-served.<br/>I don't think I will return for dinner as it is the same as lunch however dinner was an additional $10 which I didn't think was worth it. Dinner time was extremely busy and we waited quite a while to get our smoothies.<br/>There is a waiter who greeted us and was there both times. He was extremely polite and always so helpful.<br/>All in all, I would recommend this place and look forward to returning for another pleasant catch up with friends.

Apparently, this place just newly opened. You can tell by the finishings. I enjoined the food here, lunch menu is quite cheap. Pho was good, and I especially loved the Durian shake; it just hits the spot on my cravings. <br/><br/>2nd visit was for dinner, service was bad. 1 person trying his best to serve in a big busy place. Not what I expected for this kind of restaurant. This let the place down. I had visitors from overseas and we were not impressed at all.

I just got back from this place and am half comatose by the amount of tasty tasty food I gorged on.<br/><br/>Greeted at the door by a very friendly chap and I asked for the hot pot, was given a list of flavours, tom yum, crab, mushroom, seafood, laksa, spicy, sweet and sour and vegetarian. <br/><br/>I went for the spicy. I was the only person there at the time and chatted to the boss about the place and the food until plate after plate after plate of food was delivered to my table. I was astounded.<br/><br/> one heaping plate of greens and all kinds of mushrooms.<br/><br/> one plate of fish and octopi and scallop and muscles and half a crab and squid and clams and prawns plus a tasty seafood wonton.<br/><br/> one heaping plate of shaved beef<br/><br/> one plate of mixed fish cakes and fried tofu<br/><br/> one plate of tripe and other mixed goodies with quail eggs.<br/><br/> one plate of SIX different kinds of noodles<br/><br/>I was pretty overwhelmed and as I started on the beef i was asked If I like lamb and (I do like lamb) so I foolishly said 'yeah, love it'. In under a minute the was ANOTHER bloody plate on my table. I could have ordered as much as I wanted but I could barely finish any of the plates. <br/><br/>All for 25 dollarydoos. (lunch special)<br/><br/>Free ice cream and fruit as well.<br/> <br/><br/>Edit. Next day.<br/><br/>Second round, i had my ass handed to me again.<br/> So much food in me there was almost no room for air to breath.<br/> It's a mixed feeling when you have great food going into you but it hurts.<br/> The staff must be evil evil people. They will feed you till you explode. They seem extremely nice but but Im sure they want to feed you to death.<br/>YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.<br/>But seriously, Its fantastic.

If I could give this place a negative rating I definitely would. The bbq was absolutely disgusting. Worse place I have ever been to. Wagyu $49?! Looked like a low grade porterhouse steak from woolies. Sorry woolies is even better. And what the hell are the sauces? Caesar dressing? Mayo? The flavours were so out of whack it was awful. Please don’t ever go here!! Run. They definitely will shut down soon. Worse place in Melbourne. If I was given a free meal I wouldn’t even dine here. Avoid at all cost !!!

I would recommend you call ahead to check if the rotary train of hot pot ingredients is turned on as the alternative is a bounty of items of which you may or may not want. I had the mushroom soup and my partner had the spicy soup, both stocks were tasty.<br/><br/>The restaurant was quiet, perhaps a handful of tables with patrons. When we sat down I asked whether the rotary was not going for the day and was told it had been turned off. It was my mistake for not questioning how it would work, I assumed we would be given a menu but we were instead given a generous bounty of seafood, veg, offal, noodles, beef and a fish ball medley. We sent the offal back for another plate of beef. <br/>I felt bad because while they’re extremely generous with the plates of hot pot ingredients, a lot went to waste which is why I prefer rotary hot pot. <br/><br/>One important suggestion to the restaurant is, if there is a dead cockroach on the open plan restaurant floor beside the patrons, the best thing to do is to quickly remove it rather than to leave it there giving the impression that the premise has a pest issue.

Pretty decent feed for $32 pp buffet. This restaurant is super spacious and new. The staff were attentive and would regularly clear our empty plates. I love the variety of the food and the self serve ice cream machine 👍

Booked here with a large group for lunch and everything was seamless. The service was amazing, extremely attentive and they were super accommodating to our requests. The choices for hotpot are very abundant and they even have a soft serve ice cream machine and Vietnamese dessert that’s included in the all you can eat. Amazing value for money and all around great service. I will totally come back again!

This place is great!! $35 for all you can eat with a huge selection of shaved meat, vegetables, noodles, quail eggs, and condiments! A bowl of seafood is provided at the start which includes 2 big prawns, crab claw, abalone and scallop. Worth checking out!

Place was average as.<br/>The quality isnt the best and variety isnt a stand out either, it was pretty average.<br/>When i tried this place, there wasnt much on the train, just cheap stuff like noodles and veggies, i had to wait a while for beef to come around.<br/>The tom yum soup base tasted like water.. i had to ask for extra tom yum paste to make it edible.<br/>Staff were alright.<br/>Don't really find it worth it tbh.

On a cold rainy night hot pot is perfect comfort food. Beautiful new spacious venue. Comfy chairs not high stools. There is space, I am not touching the person next to me! Service is pretty good and prompt. Plenty of food on the belt to dunk into your chosen soup. A plate seafood is given to each person and the soup is tasty. Dessert of soft serve and che is also available to finish off the meal. <br/><br/>The only small criticism is there is no pork or chicken. This place is good more for seafood lovers. Would of great if this is available in the near future.

Service was good<br/>But the variety is poor.. they mostly have veggies and noodles circulating.<br/><br/>Restricted amount of seafood..<br/><br/>Nice environment <br/>Just hope they put more attention to the proteins.

Hot pot is just ok, nothing is “highlights” on their menu. $35/p I think better go for bbq. Especially, love the sweet dessert- Vietnamese chè

Very well priced buffet hotpot train. Only downfall to the dining experience is the customer service. It needed improvement and was extremely lacking.<br/>Very interesting concept of the restaurant, they have a hotpot train and seperate dining area for BBQ and hotpot. Slightly disorganised but overall a nice variety of options and soup bases. <br/>

Slow service from the get go. Confused staff who did not know what was going on, we were approached by 5 different staff members and were not seated for 10 minutes. Sat down at our table and had no cutlery or service for another 5 minutes. After leaving the table to get my sauces, I came back to the waiters leaving their boxes of bowls and cutlery on our chairs and tables while they distributed it to the tables across from us. We stood there for another 3-4 minutes and the waiters did not notice that we were waiting to sit back down at our spot until we had to ask them to move the boxes. The food was average at best and when trying to order drinks, we could not grab the attention of any waiter or waitress, as they were just chatting amongst each other. Honestly I probably won't be coming back, there are better hot pot places for the same price and better quality.

Staff was really friendly and good. It’s all you can eat for a good price. Variety soup base to choose from. The atmosphere is good. Hotpot is seperate from bbq section, so you can pick. Book before you come to get a good spot as this place gets busy by 7:30pm onwards.🥂🍢🍡🍲🍜🥘

First time trying today. We had hotpot. Big selection of soups to chose from. I had spicy and my partner had crab soup. The spicy soup had a good flavour, not too extreme. They give a generous portion of crab, scallops, clams to start you off and you can pick other ingredients from the food train that goes by. Decent selection of sauces too and dessert was simple but nice (vietnamese shaved ice)

The restaurant was amazing. It has 2 different area for both barbecue and hot pot. The people were very nice and friendly. They have little experiences for food service but they gained much better. <br/>
