some of the best handmade noodles I've ever had
Amazing food - highly recommend trying one of the many handmade noodle dishes!
I can’t really say much more about this place other than that it’s like a diamond in the rough of the noodle world. I work in emergency services, and have started referring to this place as going for ‘fancy noodles’. I’m by no means an expert about regional Asian cuisine, but this is home style asian food at its heart. Do yourself a favour and get number five, your life will be better for the experience. Spicy, chewy noodles, and delicious chunks of lamb are the heart of this dish. The lamb skewers are excellent as well, smokey and saucy little chunks of happiness. One of these days I’ll force myself to diversify and order something different, but that number five is just so so good. Arguably the best noodles I’ve ever had, and I will be back for more.
Order no.11 !! Quiet unassuming restaurant serving Uyghur cuisine -- a very specific regional style and flavour of cooking. Complaining the food is oily is like going to a Sichuan restaurant and complaining the food is spicy. We have tried various Uyghur restaurants in Melbourne and this is one of the better ones. The flat noodles are freshly handmade, deliciously chewy and tasty! There is only one chef in the back kitchen so a wait time is expected. Some rules about paying on card as well.
Noodles were delish as were the lamb skewers. Dumplings tasted great, but not as filled as I would have liked. Will definitely be going back.
Adding photos of the menu cos the ones on their site are super hard to read
Wanted to try this restaurant for a while now as this serves a very specific and relatively uncommon cuisine. Saw a bad review or two here and kept putting it off until this afternoon. I have to say I am trying very hard to find a flaw. The food was fantastic and served quickly although there were a few customers already. The handmade thick noodles.......loved it. The dumplings and the beef tongue were brilliant. Most importantly the fried beans were so tasty that my 20 month old actually ate most of it :D. FYI ..... toddlers that age dont generally care much for any green veges.
The service was really friendly and the place was really clean. Also, they do accept cards. So, either we went there on a unusually good day or the negative reviewers went there on an unusually bad day. Got to go there again to see if this is what its like everyday. I highly recommend this place.
This place is pretty good!! I thought the noodles were great, I recommend having it with spice. The lamb skewers were, as expected, amazing too! I think because the other two dishes were so good, the gosh nan felt a bit plain. Maybe some more spices inside would have made it tastier. The yoghurt was really tasty and refreshing.
Cleanliness is great for such an unassuming place like this and ambience is just alright, but expected. I can't say anything regarding wait time for food as other reviews have mentioned because it was quiet when we went in, but for us it was prompt and service was very lovely and accommodating.
Give this place a go! It honestly was great and friendly. I'll definitely be back :)
Got stir fried noodle, eggplant and capsicum, skewers and yogurt. Eggplant and capsicum is awesome, on the oily side which is how it should be. Noodles chewy and tasty, personally I'll get the spicy version. Skewer is so yum, a bit smaller than I thought but I was thinking of those gigantic skewers from it's origin. Overall great meal, would come back to try different dishes.
Clean, friendly little family owned restaurant specialising in Uyghur cuisine. Very tasty food indeed. The wide flat noodles was very delicious 😋. A gem hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Footscray. Will definitely be back to try out their other dishes.
Lets just talk about food, never left any reviews on Zomato, but have to say this is the best Uigurian food I have ever had, 3.4 rating here is so underrated. Even though they only have one waitress for at dinning time but still we go there for food right?
Everything is so authentic and flavorful
Must order: everything
If you don’t order you will regret your whole life: lamb skewers, lamb skewers, lamb skewers!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best plate of noodles I've ever had, really friendly staff too.
This place is a gem. The hand pulled noodles on the menu is better than Lanzhou noodles in the city. Get item #11 on the menu. The lamb and dumplings were good too but the pancake was my favourite. Definitely coming here again.
Different type of food to offer around Footscray. I recommend dish no. 5 - stir fry spicy noodles, as well as their lamb skewers.
Will be coming back!
I’ve been blown away. Dinner was sensational. Each dish that came out had my salivating as soon as it hit the table.
Ignore the stars and visit this spot in Footscray. You won’t be disappointed.
Washed everything down with a sweet tea.
Booked a table for 10 and the restaurant did not disappoint. The staff went beyond to help us out even though they were under the pump. Thank you guys. Looking forward to coming back
so.......yummy! Look the food, taste like local western Chinese food.
The service is great and always provide extra, the owner gave us their home made spicy dipping sauce, I love it.
They made the food with their heart.
4 people $94. Great deal.
Nice home made yogurt!
Definitely will be back again!
Me and my husband went here last week. The service was great, food came quickly and we enjoyed every meal. Will definitely be back especially for those spicy Lamb Noodles. I would recommend booking as there’s not many tables.
Excellent food at this Uyghur restaurant. We tried the lamb skewers (juicy and tasty), lamb and veggies hand-pulled noodles/laghman (delicious), lamb ribs (beautifully marinated), turga dumplings (not bad) and mushroom/greens (nice). Everything was great. The service is friendly, if a little inattentive. I had hoped they would be able to accomodate one of our vegetarian friends who wanted the tomato and egg topping (listed) with the laghman (not listed), one of her fav dishes from Uyghur, but this wasn't allowed sadly. Overall, definitely recommend for the food.
Amazing place.... Definitely worth a visit. Homemade noodles are nothing like I've found in Melbourne before... a must try.
Friendly staff, good service and nice atmosphere... already planning to work my way through the menu on future visits.
Food cooked with passion. Worth the wait. Can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu. Extremely delicious food. When you see a line up outside a Restaurant, you know it is going to be good.
Walking through the door, one cannot anticipate what was to come.
The quaint premises had few tables and fewer menus. We were not the chosen ones. The sole waitress looked flustered from the moment we were seated. It was evident that she alone could not physically cater for the suddenly burgeoning demand.
We sat patiently for 20 minutes before our orders were taken; our sympathy for the waitress overwhelming our hunger. Unfortunately, they were out of all of the pastries.
We too were joined by another slightly bewildered couple who were apologetically sat on our table.
Our first plate of noodles - long, hand pulled lamb noodles in a light broth - arrived in another 20 minutes. We felt blessed to have received our food while other tables were left longing; patiently or otherwise.
Our second plate of noodles - shorter, hand pulled spicy beef noodles - came 15 minutes after that.
In an ultimate saving grace, the noodles were in fact quite tasty. 5 stars.
But please hire more staff. Please.
I’ve visited here a couple of times since discovering it nearby. I’ve tried many Uyghur restaurants and for me, this one is the best in Melbourne. Very clean, tables are not sticky and floors are clean!! Child friendly too. Family run restaurant it seems, staff are very friendly, the chef comes out to greet you once you have eaten your meal.
As for the food, it came out a little slowly but we didn’t mind as it was hot and fresh when it arrived on the table. We ordered the fried handmade noodles with lamb and veg in a tomatoey sauce. Delicious and not too spicy for the kids. Rangpiza, yellow noodles with garlic vinegar and chilli hit the spot however too much garlic than I’m used to. And the kebab is delicious too, meat tender, perfect amount of spice, cumin and chilli and bbq’d perfectly. The lamb dumplings are amazing! we had to order extra as the kids demolished it fast. No real negatives except you will eat more than usual so not good for the waistline or pocket. If you haven’t tried Uyghur cuisine you should definitely try this, you’ll be craving it for weeks!
Bought take away twice and food was fresh, delicious and plentiful each time. The guy is very friendly and he runs the kitchen and front as well!
Great casual eatery. Noodles are handmade to order and bbq is legit. Good flavours and clean interior. Good place to try something a little different.
Went to get takeaway. Only customer in the shop at 2pm. No pastry dishes available at this time. Ordered a takeaway Pintang soup ( bean starch and vermicelli in lamb soup) which had good strong mutton flavor with mild sourness from tomato. Will be back to try other dishes.
Super friendly service. Uyghur surgeon turned chef Dwut has 1001 tales to tell you about his food and journey to Australia. Local gem. Superb for those who love spicy and flavoursome dishes. Handmade noodles are the best. However Dwut could be quite relax at times and your dish might come out a bit late. But it is worth the wait.

If you're after something different. Great food. Generous serves. A unique cuisine. A little gem in Footscray to add to the already diverse offerings.
Really enjoyed the flavour of the food. The lamb and handmade noodles were great. The service was friendly but they unfortunately only had a limited menu. Will look forward to trying and again.
There is also free red tea and garlic to go with the noodle.
The staff were friendly and kitchen was clean like new.

We were so amazed by the food and hospitality that Karlaylisi provided us. I absolutely adore Uyghur cuisine & have tried most restaurants in Melbourne, Karlaylisi by far is the best I have tasted & experienced.
The hand made pulled noodles are show stopping, made fresh & available in many different ways. My favourite being served with lamb, vegetables & chilli. They are seasoned perfectly & with great balance of flavours.
The fried lamb dumplings are so juicy, flavoursome & I believe they mince their own lamb, which makes the world of difference. The pastry is also handmade here.
The lamb nan is beautifully crispy, light, juicy & made fresh.
The bbq lamb skewers are also made fresh with quality chunks of meat. We ordered 7 and there were no grisly bits. Very tender & cooked to perfection.
Tripe salad also very good!
Most importantly, nothing was too salty or left you with the deadly MSG after taste/thirst. I really didn’t detect any MSG in the food.
Customer service is homely, hospitable & friendly. They are a lovely family & look after you without being intrusive or over the top.
The restaurant is clean, well presented and cozy. There is also parking at the back of the restaurant.
I rate it 10/10 if I could. Absolutely perfect food & dining experience.
