Things can hardly go wrong when you dine here. They need to work on their ambiance specially lighting. Tried their dosa, Chicken fried rice and Manchurian. Service was good and food came really quick.
No bad only the problem they need to improve cleanliness & hygiene! Food is good! All good!

The best Biryani in Melbourne, ever! This place is really underrated. They are authentic as we can get with Hyderabadi Biryani in Melbourne! Not a big fan of the indo-chinese sides though, could be a little on the sweeter side. The fried rice were really good though.
But if you love Biryani, you must try Pandu's!
A hidden gem in Footscray. Went for its famous brunch $11. With all south indian food. Its high recommended if you are searching for Indian breakfast in Melbourne. Worth every penny. Buffet includes full south Indian food, dosa idli Curd rice bisimili bath kheer etc etc. Only thing i thought is missing was the filter coffee and juice. Overall recommendated place to visit.
This is one of the places I'll definitely go back again and again even beyond receiving bad service.
The Food is really delicious but the receiving and service is bad, staff act like they're super busy even though there are only two people in the restaurant.

This was a biryani heaven for me. Went with two of my other friends and almost ate 1.5 of those pots. The pot biryani is the specialty of this place. The chicken dum, mutton dum and the SP boneless briyani is tasty.
Great food, could work on the ambience a bit to complement the lovely food served. It is also not heavily advertisee but surely an undiscovered gem

Having been a patron at Pandu's for a few years now, there are a few dishes I really enjoy, and those that are done really well.
Being Indo-Chinese, do not expect the usual Indian cuisine found in other restaurants. Here, you'll find dishes like Chilli Chicken, Manchurian Chicken and Pepper Prawn.
Their Idly and Sambar Vada are good.
The Plain Dosa is a steal at $1.90/piece, however only served with curry and chutney, so order up your proteins separately.
The downside to this restaurant is: service is a tad slow, there are always only one or two waiters who are always overworked and under the pump. Food will not all come out together, we always ask for our Dosa first as it's the easiest to prepare, and end up waiting a bit for the additional dishes - hence if you want all your dishes to come out at the same time, you should specifically tell the wait staff this.
Another downside - they don't do hot drinks! I would love a nice hot coffee or tea to finish my meal. They do do a mean mango lassi though!
I was here on Sunday with of my fillipono mates who Never tasted the Indian food before. We ordered chilli chicken(dry) , pandhu’s special fried rice with boneless chicken(spicy) , Gongura mutton , Mango lassi, Butter garlic noodles and Special dosa which comes with five different chutney’s.
We started with the entry chilli chicken and it was good when compared with the other Indian restaurants, then we had special dosa and garlic noodes(chicken) which is usually good and had biryani and special fried rice which are mouth watering.The main items are simply superb and the boneless chicken just melted into mouth and it was too good n spicy . At the last we ended with double ka meetha which Is most loved dessert ( as I heard from other people) . And at last after finishing my friends told me it is the best restaurants that they have indian food than the other restaurants.
Good place...you should try the Indo Chinese menu..they ve also got American chopsuey...and other snacks like vada pav that you might not find in al the Indian restaurants in Melbourne cbd

Definitely visit this place just for the food.
This restaurant serves a unique version of the most popular items. Biryanis are a must try! I had the Gongura Muttoon Biryani, and it was awesome! Chicken 65 was also good. I would stick to the south Indian dishes here though, as they specialize in them.
We've been in Pandu's at least 4 times now and I have to say their chilli cauliflower is probably one of the best entrees I had eating out! So simple but so tasty! Their goat biryani's got a lot of flavour and the meat is super tender. The service is a bit of a hit and miss, it really depends on whom is serving you, but usually is pretty decent. Decor is not the best as well, but in the end what stands out the most is the food and I have nothing bad to say about it! Lovely indian restaurant!

The food was really tasty and service was quite attentive but they have this weird fountain in the middle of the restaurant that makes loud noise (not much from the water but more from the crappy motor that pumps the water). Same 80/20 suggestion here - instead of 50 not-so-different dishes, why can't we have 10 odd nicely prepared items that come fast and taste delicious every time we order. This place has so much potential but I suspect it'll go downhill the same way other unthoughtful restaurants do. Saying that I will come here again when I crave for a well made Biryani.
Very tasty and yummy food. Specially biryani...special vegeterian biryani and chicken biryani the best and must have at pandus footscray. Very reasonably priced as well and very good quantity.
The best Indo Chinese food I've eaten in Melbourne. Recommend having chili paneer and hot and crispy chicken. Schezwan fried rice and egg fried rice. The hot and crispy chicken can take a while to reach your table but the wait is worth it.

If you are looking for all the above in one then my friend pandu's is the place for you. I tried the chicken noodles and masala dosa and they were delicious. I am a frequent visitor of this place now and I love the food (Quantity/Quality). Kudos to the staff who greet you with a smile on their face everytime. Perfect place to fight some serious hunger

Pandus the best place for indian food in melbourne, the delicious pot biryani is famous i love it, dosa with different varieties of chutneys is very tasty, just like home made dishes. Taste of the food is awesome. Love to visit again and again
I had been to pandu's for lunch on a weekend. The place was quite easy to find since it was in the main road. The ambience was pretty decent too. The food I must say was good in terms of quality and quantity for the price range. I first ordered idly sambar, it was brilliant specially the fried onions on top of it. Later I went on to try the pandu's special dosa, I personally loved it. The variety of chutney provided was nice and it enhanced the dosa taste. I took a take away if boneless chicken biryani and l loved it too, as it was prepared perfectly for my liking.
Overall it was a good place to visit.
The taste of Indochinese food here is worth mentioning. Being from sydney where food is overpriced and where we cant find indochinese food, this restaurant was worth the bucks spent.
We ordered szechwan chicken noodles and pepper chicken. The food was very tasty. It just costed $24 for 2 people which is very cheap compared to sydney where you need to spend $25 to just taste Indian food.
The customer service can be improved. But was completely satisfied with food which made up for everything else.
This place is a god send to the Wild Wild West of Melbourne. A place that has vegetarian and non-veg covered it is a must. Laid out artfully for family and singles you are spoilt for options. Try the SP Vegetarian Biryani - I tell you the humble Paneer has never tasted this good with rice! Yummy!
This one of my our favourite places to have Indian food!! Love their Indo Chinese and Dosa. We are vegetarians so do not have a any clue about their non vegetarian delicacies but love all the other food. Staff is very friendly. The only thing that needs to change is their chairs they are too far from the tables and no way you could rest you back and have food at the same time.

Went here for a dinner on a Thursday night. We were greeted by the friendliest manager I've met. We sat inside and the mood was very authentic. We ordered the hot Soup and Fish Starters. He offered to us that we can tailor the menu if we wanted for Dosa's and Fried Rices...just ask and the chef can do it! Very accommodating. Food came and it was absolutely scrumptious... Perhaps it could have come out in portions rather than all at once because when you're deep in conversation and forget to eat the last bits were not steaming hot. The manager then recommended a dessert which is delicious..Highly recommended!!!

Great food and Good Ambience!!! I am not sure what the negative reviews are about. The owner is young man and was walking around to say hi to most people. The restaurant was pretty full when we got there so we waited maybe 10 mins for our entrees and a bit for our main Biryani's but they were very busy. We were fine with it..
We started off with Soup, Dosa's and then had the hot Pot Biryani for 2 to share which was great!
I eat a lot for a slim guy and this was more than enough food. Ended up with good Dessert(I think it is called Pandus Special) We will definitely be back. All the best and hope you will maintain the same quality/quantity for reasonable price :)
Excellent food for an Indo Chinese(Manchurian,Fried Rices,Noodles), Dosas and Biryanis lovers @Pandu's. Huge varities of Biryanis and something I've never seen at any other Indian restaurant is BONELESS CHICKEN BIRYANI and Gongura Mutton Biryani. Pot Biryanis are very good and delicious.I had Pandus Special Dessert and it is really too good. I don't know what it's made of but for sure it is good. I had two servings of it. Got food in time and good management. If you like Indian Biryanis or Indo Chinese flavour food, this place is worth a try. I'll be baaaack! I give it an A+++.

Great flavor and quality. Been here few time and even had take away food. Waiters were very friendly and were explaining about their dishes and recommended few specials from the restaurant. Their Special Dosa & mutton biryani was Fabulous and full off flavor. Agree with other reviewers that this is the finest in Melbourne because of its unique style of pot biryan's. Food takes a bit long though due to over crowding, but it's freshly prepared. Good service, definitely will visit again.
Consistently high quality, excellent food. The best Pot Biryanis in Melbourne. Flavorsome, fragrant and well balanced spices expertly used to create mouth watering Biryanis. Delicious vegetarian selection including Special Fried Rice and Veg Manchurian. We are visiting this place for many years and the taste, quality is consistent. This is the only one restaurant who serves Pot Biryanis and 2$ Dosas with 4 chutneys and highly advisable to book a table at the weekend. Great Customer Service and Good Food.
Absolutely brilliant.. I hardly eat out Indian food ( being indian myself ) let alone reviewing a restaurant.. but this place is a sheer explosion of Biryanis and Dosa flavours.. One of the best food surely outside home... And the fact they have an incredible staff looking after you is a great positive thing .... afterall attention to detail be it food or customer service is everything
Having read few mixed comments and reviews about this place I was quite skeptical about this place. But today I just went and gave this place a shot, and this place is probably has the best biriyani I had in Melbourne till date. The place is quite, clean and gives the aroma of biryani the moment you step in which I found it actually a mark of Dosas and Indian Biriyani flavours.
Anyways do try this place, its very good. Fantastic Biriyani and Dosa's ! Great Job.
We had a great dinner at Pandu's...definitely recommended as its too pocket friendly and food tastes good as well. Complete value for money. The reason I rated 3.5 instead of 4.5 is because of the management's lack of attention towards small but impactful things like condition of crockery and serving utensils !! Plates were cracked and serving bowls had visible large scar marks of cracks ....even some were damaged on sides. Request the management/ owner to take this seriously.....as rest all parameters the restaurant is too good.
Specifically the staffs were very polite and prompt and also appreciate the bright white ambience and seating arrangement !!Some food are bit spicy especially Manchurians!! (but that varies with ur taste buds). We also had the signature biryani which was quite full filling But the best part was dosa with 4 chutneys!! 👍 👍 👍 too good !

The place looked good with quite well lighted and space. Food was okayish - good where boneless chick.biryani was good, chicken Biryani & veg biryani was okay. Dosa and tomato bath were good and they provide 5 varieties of chutneys !!! Overall it was a good experience.
Lip Smacking food that brings back childhood memories... A must try place for dosas, idli, vada and even Indo-Chinese cuisine, with great service it doesn't get better.
