The salsa and the corn chip is just ok, but we really love the fajitas bowl and the toastada grande. The sauce was superb.
And they serve the dishes on a steaming hot plate, which is always a plus in my book.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My little kinder kid was behaving terribly. Yet the staff were kind and had a play area for the little kids. The food was delicious and morish. Everything tasted glorious
Came here couple nights ago. Three of us, I had the new fajitas bowl I think it called was quite amazing in taste and portion was just right. I had the beef and would give the chicken a try next round. Also vegetarians and vegans available with this bowl. My friends had the fajitas and and quesadilla supreme both looking great and tasty. Highly recommended.
The enchiladas are amazing, and a very nice comfortable and cute restaurant! The owner Amy has amazing service, and the service is fast. Great mexican food :)

As a single business traveler I often find it difficult if not a little intimidating to go to restaurants alone resulting in many nights of room service and two minute noodles.
But after visiting Amor Mexico on a particularly lonely night, I am very happy to report that the warm and welcoming staff (not to mention the yummy food and cosy atmosphere) prompted a return visit a week later.
And although the staff were different, the way they made me feel genuinely welcome and better still, appreciated for my choice to dine with them, was exactly the same as the first time.
The restaurant was quite busy the first night and apart from the volume of the two large tables celebrating birthdays (they weren't that loud - I'm just a grumpy old man!) the service was equally as wonderful as that of the second occasion when there were only 4 or 5 tables of two dining.
I ordered different drinks and meals each time and everything was delicious and reasonably generous in size adding good value for money to the list of positives of this place.
If you or you and your friends/family are ever in Forest Hill - or within 20kms of Forest Hill - and feel like some yummy Mexican and great hospitality, drop in to Amor Mexico.
PS. I talked with the owner on my second visit and was informed it has been a Mexican restaurant for 30 years and hasn't changed hands on the last 15 - which I guess is testimony to my very positive review.
Offers the best Mexican food selection; equipped with genuine, pleasing and accommodating staff at any time. The ambience was very warm. I also get to use my Liven App here and I got my $50 rebate. My friends and I are now patrons

This Mex restaurant is a local fave for my friends and family. The staff are awesome and so is the food. Prices are reasonable and the service is quick... The only thing I would change would be to play some Mexican music in the background :)
Nice place, went early with husband and 2 year old. Very friendly staff and cater well to kids (big plus in my book!). Food was tasty and service prompt.

We love this place. My son's favourite food is Mexican thus we have been to many different Mexican restaurants and we always keep coming back to this one. Great customer service and fresh, delicious food served promptly. The kids are always made to feel special with a little treat. They often have great specials on their Facebook feed. Highly recommend.
Better than most suburban Mexican restaurants. For a suburban Mexican restaurant, this place is a step or two above the usual "Tex-Mex" places. The dishes we tried had more emphasis on quality rather than quantity. We ordered a couple of dishes that aren't usually found on the menu at your average Mexican restaurant and they were great, especially the Chimichangas. Would love to see the chef/kitchen develop some more of these lesser-known gems to create a menu that doesn't feel so familiar.
Service was great and Amy (owner?/manager?) did a great job of making us feel welcome. It really felt like nothing would be too much trouble. Can't wait to go back!
Loved the lemon frozen marguerita. I must live a very sheltered life as I don't think I've ever had a marguerita before. And I loved these.
We had an amazing coupon deal for dinner for a group of six and we had a lovely evening and enjoyed our meals. Staff attentive and friendly, and food tasted good. Those that had the deep fried ice-cream (not part of the deal) raved about it.

Nice atmosphere amongst the festivities. Place may seem small and mildly outdated from the outside but you can be greeted by friendly and helpful staff who can cater to all your needs.
The La combinacion was an introductory delight composing of a sample of all the main meals on one. Prices may appear a bit up there but it was worth it for the night in there

GREAT FOR LARGE GROUPS!!!. We were lucky enough to have our work Xmas Party at this venue. With the ease of dealing directly with Amy, we were given a very satisfying menu with loads of choice. On arrival all the tables were set perfectly and the staff and service was amazing, nothing was to much trouble!! I would recommend this venue for any large group events

The best Mexican restaurant around here!. I have been trying this restaurant many times, and I must say the food here is excellent. The Nachos Supremos is one of my favourites. And if you are really hungry, I love their Stacked Enchiladas. This is very filling with and egg on top and served with melting cheese. I have also tried at times there Carne Con Chile Colorado, Quesadilla Suprema and the Burritos Supremos and find they are all delicious.
The staff are always friendly and courteous and greet you with a cheerful smile and go out of their way to make you feel welcome.
This restaurant used to be called Tacos, and just recently they changed the name to Amor Mexico. They also decided to renovate and called in their shopfitters and re-designed it to their own liking with typical Mexican decor, paintings and artefacts.
I have been going to Mexican restaurants for the last ten years from Templestowe to Mitcham and Blackburn, and all I can say is that this is by far the best so far in and around these suburbs. Their food is tasty, good sized serving and reasonably priced.
Mex-i-lent choice. Decided to go out for Mexican tonight and decided to pop in after reading the reviews etc. Loved it! It was very quiet being a Sunday night but quality of experience was still top notch. The food was yum and so was the mango fishbowl!! Waitress was very cheerful and pleasant too. Worth popping in to!
My favourite mexican restaurant! Delicious food every time and such friendly staff.. Amy always is cheery and helpful! Especially love the fajitas, nachos and taquitos. The food is always fresh and there's some great specials every time.
Cocktails are great.. There's a huge list to choose from (which does make it a little hard!)

Service was awesome , and they really looked after us , considering the had a big table of 20+ we thought it would be a long wait, it was longer than usual but it wasn't bad as they bought out free food to fill in the time. Food was delicious. Was a little concerned regarding this as previous reviews were not positive . We found the food to be very good. Not traditional mexican, more american Mexican fold but it was really nice just the same, burrito del mar was the pick if all the food

I took my partner and family to Amor Mexico tonight, as I've been past it a few times, but had never tried. It was a great decision to dine in tonight. I thoroughly enjoy Mexican food, and this was one of the best experiences. Not only was the food was amazing, but what stood out was the owner Amy - her wonderful and likeable personality was infectious. Her ability to connect with us was a lovely touch. So glad we dined in tonight and gave Amor Mexico a go - we highly recommend it to all. We will be back again for that Senorita cocktail!
Amy and her team are amazing. The food is superb whether you are eating in or takeaway. The atmosphere is so cool and outside with all the painted walls it really adds to it all.

Took my family to Amor Mexico the other night for dinner and the food was simply amazing !! We shared a bunch of starters and also the mains and all the dishes just tasted so good and the family loved it. The ambience was also good and our wonderful host Amy made us feel special, so i cant recommend Amor highly enough if you want a good family night out
Amy’s service is incredible, went here for a friends birthday after a quick google search and I promise this place won’t disappoint! The food is the best Mexican food I have tried in a long time! The owner Amy went above and beyond to make sure we had the best selection of margaritas and food! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
