Great staff, nice setting, delicious food!
We loved our dinner at this Korean BBQ Restaurant by the creek. The staff were super friendly and we enjoyed the novelty of the BBQ grill on each table. The food was really good.
We had pork dumplings, nice flavour and crispy outside.
Croquettes.. My favourite, delicious!
Followed by beef and chicken BBQ dishes cooked at our table. I only eat red meat a few times a year, but I really enjoyed the beef, very tender and tasty.
We also had a vegetable noodle dish which was nice.
We shared pancakes to finish... While it was ok, we all agreed we would not order it again as we probably prefer Korean savoury dishes to the sweets... But if Korean desserts are your thing, you would enjoy it.
All in all a lovely night, and we would recommend đź‘Ť
Superb, great food, myself and 4 family members had the banquet, it was sensational.
The food was both cooked well and served beautifully, the staff were very attentive and it was reasonably priced.
I will definitely venture back
We tried a number of dishes and they were all tasty. Both the beef and spicy pork bibim bap were delicious. The japchae was a tad too salty and there was a pool of sauce at the bottom (japchae shouldn't be saucy... Maybe added too much soy sauce..?) but the taste was still good. The Tang Su yook was a bit too sweet, it was almost like a dessert. The food came super fast and service was great so a very happy dining experience :)
Keen to try something new, my partner and I decided to have dinner at Geonbae last Saturday night, and we were not disappointed! As Korean BBQ novices we were curious to try a few dishes but not hungry enough to attempt the set menus as they sounded huge. We ordered the croquettes (divine!), the kimchi gratin (spicy and moreish), the spicy chicken bbq (very tasty) and the beef bulgolgi bbq (absolutely delish!). We left feeling extremely satisfied, quite full, and eager to return again soon. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with explaining the menu items and cooking our bbq, and service was really fast! Such a great addition to the Frankston foreshore.
Best restaurant in Frankston. Hands down.
It's in an odd little location, like an attempt to make a Southbank style area on a creek in the suburbs, but done well.
Such a great experience. We were in a rush so didn’t have time to try the set menus which looked amazing. The fried Korean chicken was Devine. Great service. We’ll definitely be back!
Great food and great service. BBQ meat was excellent and so was the japchae. Will definitely be back, one of the best Korean bbq place I have been to, highly recommend it!
Had take away from this place many times and loved it so decided it was was worth seeing what dining in was like. Bibimbap is very good, cannot fault. The chicken was very succulent and the serving size is huge! The only down side for me was the honey mustard sauce. The chicken was drowning in it which made it hard to eat. Probably ordering the sauce on the side is the way to go. The potato croquettes were also delicious.
Geonbae is a fantastic addition to Frankston! Finally Korean food in Frankston! And it is delicious!
I love that because my mum ordered the Korean BBQ spicy chicken they provided us with sides like kimchi and apple.
I ordered the bibimbap. It was nicely presented but then the waitress poured the sauce over it and mixed it in for me so I was unable to take a photo of what it looked like beforehand.... was impressed by how huge the servings were! The bibimbap was nice and spicy.
They also do Korean BBQ as well.
Near the water front, this lovely restaurant offers an interesting menu as Korean cuisine is new to us. We started with the vegetable pancakes and small sides such as kimchi, pickled onions, squid & noodles. The vegetable dumplings were good and so were the vegetables with noodles.
The beef bulgogi was thinly sliced porterhouse cooked on the BBQ with zucchini, mushrooms & sweet potatoes and that was lovely. This was accompanied by a rice dish mixed with vegetables and an egg which was cooked by the heat of the meal & a spicy sauce. The side sauces included salt & pepper oil & spicy soy beans. The pork belly wasn't marinated but there were enough sauces to dip it in. Lastly the BBQ chicken came out & it was delicious but we were unable to finish it so took it home to eat for lunch the next day.
The fruit salad for dessert was soaked in sprite lemonade which gave it a nice sweet zingy taste. I had the ice cream in strawberry rice dumplings with cream and sweet red beans with berry sauces drizzled on top which was a gorgeous way to finish a great meal. I'd say this is the nicest restaurant in Frankston.
