Review Sasaki - Frankston

My usual order is takoyaki: they are pretty great, not many places sell them, good treat. Agedashi tofu: another yum treat you don't find often. Combination noodle soup: this is generally nice, they are light handed with the vegetables but otherwise worth the price. Very quick to cook the food, especially when restaurant isn't busy you could be eating within minutes.

Ordered via Uber Eats: · Japanese Vegetarian Fried Pancake: very delicious, juicy, crispy, thick – a bit too much sauce though. · Deep Fried Calamari in Five Spice Salt: crispy, flavoursome, generous portion, loved the onion and chilli – needed a bit more chilli Carefully packaged and well cooked – it stayed crispy until delivery!

Prolly the cheapest resto you can find in Frankston so don’t expect too much. Chicken ramen was nothing close to the authentic one. Noodles, soup, neither the seaweed. Also can find better miso soup from the ones from instant packs. Chicken teriyaki was ok.

Great place, no fuss down to earth Japanese food and great staff.

Dishes were overpriced, unauthentic and used cheap ingredients. One of the wait staff was inattentive and made some mistakes with the food (e.g., delivering food to the wrong table). Maybe it was just one of their bad days, but we would probably never come here again.
Amazing Australia
All tables were occupied for dine in which is a good sign however lacked great customer service. Food was good but could be better.

I just had the Char Kway Teow and it was sooo delicious. Just the right amount of chilli, not too hot. Good amount of seafood and the crunch of the bean sprouts really made it special. Definitely will be ordering this again soon!😋

Went back today for Sushi, Oyakudon, and tankatsu all take away. Good food. They take phone orders now I had Tonkatsu Ramen which was very well prepared and came out hot with the crumbed pork on a seperate plate. The noodles were reasonable but there certainly could have been more veges in the broth. The broth itself had a nice flavour and was hot enough. Service was a little slow we had to wave for attention to get service. Service was polite but not forgotten. A little more effort needed. #letsguide

Came here for lunch on a Sunday. Food was delicious, not greasy and fresh. Had gyoza, teriyaki chicken and black bean beef. Will definitely be back and recommend this place !

Sasaki is my absolute favourite place to eat! Everything I've tried on the menu (which is a lot) has been delicious with my personal favourite being the Katsu curry rice. Staff are friendly, service is prompt and everything is really clean. Best of all this place is so affordable. Highly, highly recommend!!

For DS’s birthday this year we thought we’d sort of re-live our honeymoon in Japan and head to Sasaki. In my opinion, it’s pretty much as close as you’ll get to Japan in Sydney!. Kingfish, mandarin & fennel (special). The whole place is incredible. Starting from the fact it’s pretty hidden in a tiny laneway near where Berta and Cre Asion cafe are! The decor is so simple but that’s all you need really. Even the food is simple, often made with just a handful of ingredients or less.

Have had a few thing off menu, and all really good. It's really quick, and food is really clean.

Service is fine, for a $12 for lunch, and delicious.

I'll be back next week for lunch too.

I'd say best Asian in Frankston, by a country mile......

Not bad for a quick and easy take away joint. I generally order the noodles here and the char Kwai tao is one I tend to keep returning for. The sushi and teriyaki chicken is also nice. For the price, this place is good.

Solid meal with wonderful staff for a great price! Perfect place to s date or just great food! I would recommend the Bento Boxes but from what I have experienced anything on their menu is pretty tasty.

Great food. Had a ramen soup with chicken friend cutlet. Soup base was good. Chicken was nicely prepared and fried. Pricing is reasonable. Food serving size is good as well. Fill my hunger pretty well. Will go back again for other dish.

If you're craving good Japanese curry or katsu don I highly recommend! Also had the tom yum noodle soup and was very impressed! Usually have to travel to the city for a good tom yum! The staff were very lovely! Will be a regular here from now on! Cheap quick and delicious!

Today I went out for lunch with my mum at Sasaki. I've been eating lunch here since 2011 but probably haven't been here since 2013. Fortunately the food is still just as good. It's also very cheap. The teriyaki chicken bento box my mum got was $13, while mine was $14.50

The food tastes nice and fresh. I had no issues with the customer service here either. My favourite part about my bento box was definitely the California sushi rolls - they were so fresh!

if your short for cash but wanna go out this is the place to go there steamed Dim Sims are the best and Mandarin chicken my partner like to get the salt and pepper squid and vegetable pancake depending if we want something big or small is what we normally decide on but there very filling. Don't expect to much from the customer service or the atmosphere it's just a cheap quick and easy Dinner you never wait long for a meal. I wouldn't recommend going for a bday or occasion. Definitely worth a try though.

The sushi deluxe I ordered was absolutely delicious, for $10 it's quite good value for money. I love how the sticky rice used in the sushi was soft, smooth and sweet.

The customer service could use some improvements as well as the surcharge when you pay by card and the whole restaurant in general.
You'll be changed extra 50¢ if you make purchases under $20, which seems rather ridiculous.
The guy who served (old man) me wasn't very keen on communicating very well, sure he was straight forward but he completely ignored the part when I asked him if he can do cash outs, also you couldn't quite hear him cuz he wasn't speaking very clear, rather mumbling half the words.
The restaurant itself was rather suffocating. At first I thought that the heater might be on but that wasn't it. It was very humid inside, that's why I was very keen to eat outside but only returned to dine inside because I wasn't left with any other choices.

All and all I would say that the food made was very well done. If they make the little improvement on issues written above then it'll be perfect.

Easily located next to the Hoyts Cinemas in Frankston, Sasaki is an Asian fusion restaurant leaning more towards Japanese. The menu photos on the backlit board are quite faded which doesn’t give you much to look forward to with the meals.

The older waitress we had today could have made the service better if she smiled. She was friendly, but kept a straight face the entire time we were here. The meals were served in a reasonable time and the restaurant, while it wasn’t too busy when we walked in, was bustling with noise by the time we left.

Check out the review of Sasaki in the blog post below.

A really neat little Japanese restaurant/cafe. Very casual, I'm not sure I would come here for a special occasion but the chili chicken is the best meal I have had in town.

Best value Sushi Sashimi Bento Boxes on the Peninsula. Also recommend the Gyu Don, Gyuza and Lemon Grass Chili Chicken. And don't get anything without a steamed dimmy!

Awsome lil japanese!! Yummy food and great friendly service. Will be back for sure. Finally found an equivalent of gold coast japanese food. No complaints here

The food and quality was good. They had quick service but service was poor. The staff didn't seem open to accommodating for special dietary requirements

Good food done well.. This place is a favourite of mine and my husband's. It may not be authentic but it's very tasty food done well and served quickly. I've never had any issues here and recommend it to everyone.

Once is Enough!. Not an authentic Japanese eatery at all.. stay clear away unless you aren't too fussed about getting the real deal. Staff were polite though.

Customer service is non existence! But for a cheap feed and usually good food it goes alright

The best place for quick and delish food. I've been to Sasaki several times and it's my favourite restaurant in Frankston to go to.
The food has got to be some of the most scrumptious things I've ever tasted and instead of paying $30 for a meal you have to wait an hour for with a little serving, Sasaki's is cheap and served quick and fresh. They give you containers for leftovers, which for me there always are.
My regular choices are Hokkien Mee, Yaki Udon and the Chicken Noodle Soup (which was amazing to have when I had a cold).
To whoever is considering going to Sasaki, stop considering and go!

From a very pleased customer

Good food for the price.. For $12 a main you don't expect much, but Sasaki delivers a fantastic, casual eating experience. Great food, fast and friendly service and an extensive menu of cheap, delicious dishes.

One of my Favourites :-). Love it....
Efficient and Polite service. Always greeted with a smile !
Great food that's serviced quickly.
Great value.
Every time I introduce a new friend, it becomes their new favourite cafe too!!

Love it. I've been here a bunch of times and it's always a great eat. It's not the prettiest restaurant in the world and the atmosphere isn't much but they make up for it with a good selection of Japanese foods, always prepared quickly and at a great price.
As for the taste and quality... Delicious!!
You can't beat the bento boxes for a good all round feast but everything I've had here has been really good. Well worth a visit if you're in Frankstontopia.

I lost my Sasaki virginity today. Food was great and service was quick.
Mike
Food and service was very good. Place was a little dirty and staff uniforms were not the cleanest either. But because the food and service were so good who cares. 8/10 :)

Great food, always quick, really cheap. I don't care if they are talking in Japanese about how terrible I am I'll still come back

Char Kwai done beautifully here. Good price and good food. Great easy meal before a movie or bowling.

This place is great! Cheap, tasty, quick food with good portion sizes! I recommend the oyako don and the Japanese pancake, with a chilled lychee tea. Love going here before a movie. Highly recommend!

RUDE STAFF, japense pancakes are microwaved. Consistently rage about customers to eachother in Japanese.
