I have a confession to make.. I either have a slight bias towards these guys or they ARE just THAT good! ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ Southside Social will always have a special place in my heart. It's where my love for burgers stepped out of puberty and into the big-boy world! ๐ฅ as a bartender here when they first opened, i had the luxury of testing every burger on the menu and also the beautiful ability to conjure up crazy combinations on my lunch breaks with the chefs ๐ and oh did i take advantage of that! ๐ this baby right here was one of my favourites along with what i used to call the "dirty harlem shake" ๐ The fatty 5-0 was always a winner for me, especially with that mac 'n' cheese! ๐ง Adding the fried chicken takes it to another level, adding texture and a crunch to an already amazing burger ๐ the graffiti art and hip hop tunes add personality to the place that also doubles up as a exceptional bar to kick back and unwind after a long day ๐บ props to the bro @skyegraham for getting this spot on point ๐๐ฝ 9/10 for the burger joint my heart calls home โ @bite_me_melbourne .

Love the vibe of this place, it's in a great location on the main strip of Frankston.
Ordered the fatty 5-0 burger, it was huge! Loved the mac and cheese at the bottom and the BBQ sauce had a great flavour to it.
The beef patties themselves needed a bit more seasoning on them though, was a bit of a let down cause the rest of the burger tasted really nice.
Would definitely come back if I was in the area.
Came here the other night with some friends, just before the kitchen was about to close. They kept it open just for us and gave us time to decide what we wanted. They were very friendly and accommodating and the food was pretty good for the price. Will definitely be back

This burger was very different to my usual burger feeds. Well for starters the buns were a @krispykreme doughnut cut in half ๐.
Now though this isn't the first Krispy Kreme burger I've had, it was definitely very unique in the fact that it had all 3 proteins together instead of just beef.
Let's talk about the beef, the patty was Thicc and cooked well just like always.
The chicken was a bit of a let down, though there was plenty of flavour, it didn't have much crumbing to it so it lacked in the crunch department.
The double bacon and cheese was stellar, absolutely loved them both.
I have to say that I feel like this burger could be so much better if it had 2 Donuts per burger, instead of the one donut cut in half. But then again they'd probably need to have an ambulance on standby because that would be stupidly unhealthy ๐

I really do have to commend the creativity of the guys from @southsidesocial, going all out to create a specials board to celebrate the American independence day with style! Alongside this burger they have deep fried cookie dough, deep fried Oreo's, deep fried ravioli, deep fried pickle chips with cool aid mayo, deep fried Snickers, deep fried coca cola and Bacon Strips covered in Nutella. Damn I just unlocked super diabetes while writing that ๐

My Friends were visiting from overseas and I decided to take them to Southside for lunch. We had the Fatty 5-0 and the Vegan with chips. One of my friends had tasted burgers all over the world and she said her burger, the 5-0, was the best she had ever tasted. They were both very happy. Chips were nice too although they were on the small side. Overall good experience in a cool place, would have to be the Number 1 spot in Frankston for a burger.
Walked in with kids (9 weeks, 3 and 12) and was accommodated even with the pram. The music was great and the menu creative and tempting. I ordered the Harlem Burger, in which the chicken was fried to perfection - if only it had a little more sauce, as the waffles made the dish overly dry.
The Mac & cheese nuggets were cute but bland without the sauce and the poutine fries were very, very bad in the best way. Overall the food was great value for money, and more than we could finish. It would also be great if they provide a kids menu.

Southside is probably my go to in Frankston, I know I always get good food. The Mrs Simple burger and the sweet potato fries are what I almost always order. Nice and quiet during the day but on a Friday night I've found it to be quite crazy and have had orders messed up when it's busy.
I do not go down to Frankston that often, but for the burgers at Southside social I will definitely go back. Very juicy burgers and a good collection of beers too. The place is pretty cool with streets arts. Got a good vibe.
I can't speak highly ENOUGH about this place. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks, THE SERVICE!

We have been here many a time, but this time in particular our burgers were brought out and weren't quite the right ones (slight miscommunication on our end) but the waiter was so accommodating, apologised and gave a us a beer on the house. Got the right burger not too long after and... amazing as always.

We tried this place on the advice of friends and I would have to say the burgers were great. It seems like there is so many burger joints ATM that do sub par food but this was quite good.
The only down fall was it was very very loud with music and you had to scream at each other to talk.
Alcohol is expensive in general but these guys have jacked up the price of booze way above and beyond but the food was good.

The meat market should be the only burger on the menu! Combines everything you need, fried chicken some of the best in Melbourne! The loaded fries can be a dish on their own but the chips are delicious and crispy even under layers of sauce

Visited Southside Social for a late Thursday lunch. I ordered the Slim Chick burger. The menu said there was hot sauce on the burger and yes it was a little on the tangy side but I wouldn't call it "proper" hot sauce - other than that the burger was delicious. The atmosphere on a quiet Thursday afternoon was nice, with some late 90's hip hop playing and few other people. However, I would be hesitant to head back on a Friday or Saturday night as I reckon the place could get quite pumping, but if that's what you're into then why not have yummy burgers while a DJ spins some tunes. Another good place to eat in Frankston.
We stumbled upon this place at random and it's going to be our new favorite place in Frankston!
The carefully crafted grungey decor doesn't stop it from being spotlessly clean, and the menu, although small as you'd expect in such a bar, is full of interesting twists.
The food is without frill and false pretense, but just spot on. The flavors just work.
We tried a vegetarian burger that was incredibly good, the Harlem burger that was fun and yummy, and the taco fries, that had toppings in layers instead of just on top of the big pile of fries. Classy move.
We're definitely coming back.

the burgers are amazing, highly recommend the southern fried chicken it packs a lot of flavour and is tender, the taco seasoned chips are delicious the poutine fries are also incredible, this place has no downside.
Had easily become my favourite burger place.
Southside have been pretty inconsistent with me but I thought I'd give them another go. The first time I went I loved my meal! The second time was average and the third time I told myself I wouldn't come again. But then I heard about the Harlem Burger and I thought, I'll give it another go... The chicken was crispy, some of the best chicken I've had on a burger and the waffles were cooked perfectly. The maple mayo was awesome. The bacon could have been a little bit crispier but overall a good burger. If you like savory pancakes I definitely recommend this if you like savory pancakes.

I went here for lunch, but can definitely see myself wanting to go for dinner in a night setting as there is a bar!
I did enjoy my meal! And would return for the food and vibe! And it's so close to the beach you can go for a walk after!

This place definitely does not disappoint!
The staff were very attentive and the food came out fast enough so we didn't have to wait to long. The venue layout is good to, you can sit out front on the deck for a beer or if you want something more quiet they have booths out the back.
What we ordered;
The Meat Market burger ; Fried chicken, beef patty, American cheese, special sauce - Out. Of. Control. The flavours were so good. Was also good to note the fried chicken wasn't oily and had heaps of crunch!!
Poutine & Taco fries ; they don't just do some small lathering of toppings, the toppings are literally all through the fries which makes it and the servings are definitely worth the money.
I'll definitely be back here again, need to try so many of the other things on the menu.

Look we heard amazing things about this place and how amazing burgers worth it was good but I've had better. The jalapeno poppers were pretty great too though
Came here with a group of friends and all ordered something different plus a few starters to share. Everything was really delicious and the burgers were fantastic! Loved the spiked milkshakes too (especially the redskin!) So great to have a hip place in the area that actually delivers with good quality and really reasonably priced compared to other burger places in the area too.
Not sure why this place only has an overall rating of 3.1, I LOVE this place!!! After trying almost all other American diners in the area, Southside social is by far the best. The service and atmosphere here is great but the food is incredible and the spiked shakes are a must. I tend to stick to the mrs simple but I've tried the fatty 5-0 and a few others and all have been nothing short of delicious. Do yourself a favour and visit Southside social- you will not regret it!!!

Only disappointment is that there is no easy way of booking online or by phone ( that I could find anyways) and the seats are quite limited.
The male waiter/bartender had the right type of banter to keep me spending, the ladies not so much... however considering some of the rowdier clientele I can presume why. The bar is beautiful and well prepared for any occasion, like those milkshake cocktails my mate and I were literally frothing over. Said mate described this place as being perfect for "filthy burgers" and boy, was she on the money. Definitely one for the young guns, this joint offers up exactly what it looks like: on trend, Insta-worthy meals and an awesome vibe with possibly the best playlist I've heard in a restaurant. Keep it up!

Southside social, nice. What a great place for some off the wall burger options. Got the fatty 5-0 it's a double cheese burger with bacon Mac and cheese an some other good stuff. It was massive and not to mention pretty tasty. Got two lots of fries the nacho fries with guac and One with cheese and gravy. All in all we probably ordered too much but it was all worth it. Their jalapeรฑo poppers left somethings to be desired they were more of a cheese fritter rather than a stuffed jalapeรฑo. Fresh jalapeรฑo poppers can be labour intensive but are well worth it. I hope they do some adjusting in that one. Didn't Spring too much for their cocktails or booze but they had a fairly comprehensive beer selection of local micro brews and I could tell you if I was a local in Frankston this would be my go to. Definitely going back to try a few other items.
Quality burger shop. At first impression i thought the burgers were over priced considering no sides came with the burger. But once you see the size and take your first bite of your burger you realise there's plenty of food! Very stylish place would definitely recommend you try, only issue i found was the loud noise of the blenders whilst they make drinks, besides that a quality burger place.
Finally frankston is worth going the opposite way then to the city! This late night venue has a hip street vibe and serves up great burgers and drinks to go with the cool beags from the live DJ weekend nights.
This is a top quality quirky burger restaurant/bar. All of the burgers are a descent size and most are served on a delicious brioche bun. In particular the social burger is tasty, moist and tangy- but perhaps a little too sauce-happy. Sides are a strength- jalepino poppers are a terrific find. Prices are very reasonable, ambience is at times a bit antisocial (music choice esp for families), but overall a terrific local with loads of ambition and room to improve (the chips? House-cut might work better).
Very trendy and attractive layout for the restaurant. The wall covered with speaker and colour combination is a nice touch. Love the taco chips with salsa, jalapeรฑos, sour cream, guacamole and quesca fresca. I ordered the hot mama which high lights ghost chilli in it.We enjoyed the lunch @southside social.... Definitely a place to revisit ....
Great value for money on a Tuesday as the bites menu is $3! Burgers are decent prices too. Restaurant was clean, service was friendly and our food came in a biodegradable cup! Huge plus! Loved the exposed brick and wood paneling inside. I had the veggie burger which was great. Only negative in my opinion was the music was a little loud for day time lunch. Great experience overall!
I think it's safe to say southside socials burgers are the best in frankston!! I'm a new local and I've been to the other main diners in frankston but this new gem is definitely the best. I had the social burger just your original/plainest of their burgers it was so yum. Their house made sauce reminds me of a better version of Big Mac sauce. It is well priced the restaurant decor is pretty origina. Maybe not the place for a fancy date but for a catch up with mates it's a great place to try.
Awesome burgers! Sides are great too, only real downside for our group was not being able to drink alcohol outside - even though the area is fenced off etc.. Tough license i guess, will be back!
Best burger place I've ever been too! Never had a bad experience here. Always great friendly staff too. Burger combinations and flavors are so unique and delicious catering for every burger goers individual taste buds! What a great little place with an edgy cool vibe, also loving the graffiti artwork throughout the place displaying it's individual style. Loved the rnb beats too! Sensational feed. Burgers are spot on. The jalapeรฑo poppers were the stand out for my partner and I. (I believe they have changed these recently as they're different from other reviews we have read). Great service and the venue speaks for itself. We Can't wait to come bank.
