Review The Pizzeria On Norman - Frankston

Delicious pizza and friendly service. The Mexican is my favourite (hold the jalapenos) but every variety of pizza and pasta I’ve tried has been great. Quality ingredients that don’t give you that ‘sluggish’ feeling after you eat like the cheap and nasty pizza places do. I highly recommend.

I used to love these pizzas but just picked up one for dinner but very disappointed to find extremely sparse topping. I may as well just had some toast. Its dinner, I want some topping not just a pizza base with 1 to 2 tiny shrimp and a couple of messily bits of pineapple. Very annoyed. Nice base, I will say that has not changed.

It gives me no pleasure writing this but I received 3 cold pizzas last weekend. I emailed the restaurant but Jay seemed to want to blame Door Dash. I live 3 minutes away so more likely it was sitting too long at the restaurant. Who knows? Jay ceases correspondence when I suggested a credit was in order. Incredibly disappointing given their normal service. Regards Barry

Used to love this place and visited regularly. I'm considering going somewhere else. Quality of the topping and volume of topping has reduced to the point where they are dry and tasteless. Eg If I order 4 cheese pizza, you expect cheesiness, not a dry pizza with a couple of tiny blobs of gorg on it, for 20 bucks.

The most tasteless pizza I have ever had. Delivered COLD, directly from the shop less than 1km away. The thinnest base ever that tasted like cardboard. Very sparse, very thinly sliced toppings. Just the worst. Luckily they didn't make the gelato!

Loved this little tucked away suburban pizza place, great wood fired pizzas and great friendly service. Not many tables so best to book to avoid disappointment on Friday or Saturday nights.

A wonderful location - with plenty of outdoor seating. Whilst advertised as BYO (on their website) we were advised it's not - wasted money buying wine on route and then had to buy again when we got there. (Please update your website to be honest and not misleading) We had a delicious garlic and cheese pizza for starters (but were overcharged for this) and then had 3 individual pizzas (range of small and medium - again not charged the price on the menu). After the garlic and cheese pizza which had a thin base, we then had pizzas that had a thicker base (and in some cases, nothing on the pizza slice). The waiter was run off his feet - despite having additional staff inside the restaurant.

Set in a beautifully quiet and leafy part of Frankston I came across the pizzeria on Norman. This large yet cute and intimate setting was the setting for my mother’s birthday and what an experience it was. Met upon arrival by the charming and endearing owner we were impressed from the outset. A menu that any pizza lover will salivate over but it was the staffs extensive knowledge of the menu and their honest yet perfectly appointed recommendations that impressed most. The pizzas themselves were amazing and the first bite had me feeling like I was in Italy at a traditional pizzeria. Amazing flavoursome combinations of ingredients sourced both locally and abroad have me now driving over 25 mins every week for my weekly dose of the pizzeria. Do yourself a favour and come experience pizza with real flavour.

Absolutely in love with not only the food but the vibe of this place! Great wood fire pizza - fresh toppings & traditional thin bases. They are now doing pastas & different desserts which is great when i go with mates & we all feel like something different. Friendly staff that happily accommodated my 10 month old :) Will be back soon.

Very average food and service.one person front of house with a full restaurant and kids pizzas served on the pizza tray that has come out of oven.no plates.

Some very interesting flavours that you'll have trouble finding elsewhere. Great service, rate it highly!

Talked up their wood-fired crust, it was super flat and dense, with no air, crunch or stretch ... terrible dough recipe (you should change it ASAP) ... ordered a Napolitano + hot salami (not hot) ... think I may've had one small piece of salami per slice ... pretty tasteless all round and a complete pretender for an Italian wood-fired pizza ... they did however give me the extra basil I asked for on the side in a container which is a plus ... I can't believe they talk up that dough ... I make better @ home from a Jamie Oliver recipe from Italy ... a no brainer!!

Trying new pizza shops looking for nice wood fired pizza and disappointing first trip
Mixed up our order then when the finally finished was doughy and grossly undercooked

Fantastic food, drinks, music & waitress. Highly recommended our New Pizza Joint when we are on holidays.

My new favourite. Pizza is amazing. Only explanation I have for negative reviews is that this pizza is NOT your ordinary fare... But delicate and special! Yumm!

We are regulars at The Pizzeria. Jason & his team make this the perfect location to catch up with family & friends. Food is excellent, service is great. From the youngest to oldest, we always leave satisfied. Keep up the awesome work :)

Drive past!!!. I thought id give this place a go even though id heard rotten reveiws about the food and staff. I wish i had listened to them and saved myself the money and time. The pizza was terrible. I couldnt eat it. The young staff were ok. I actually felt sorry for them as the old guy who i think was the owner in the Hawain shirt ...arrrgggg. berated them the whole time. I also thought it was poor form that i could hear him bagging all the shop owners on the street to a customer. Really disgusting! Drive past! Dont waste your money.

Best Pizza on Peninsula - by a long shot!. Jason & his team are doing a fabulous job at Pizzeria!
We have become relatively regular diners & love the fact the pizza's are not bastardized & are truly authentic Italian. Nice thin base, not too much topping. Very tasty.
Staff can be quite young & inexperienced at times, however it is a pizza shop, not a fine dining restaurant, & they are by no means rude. Wine list also very nice.
Extremely well priced food & drinks
Try the pizza with feta, ricotta & zucchini - yummo!
Sorry
Very family friendly. We have eaten here a number of times and we love it. We have young kids and it's perfect for them as they love their'pizza and pop top' dinner and there's no pressure like at a fancy restaurant. Atmosphere is always casual and friendly and food ways delicious. We will continue to be regulars

Waste of money. So reading all the wonderful recent reviews and the fact it was wood fire pizza I was super keen to try this place and boy what a disappointment!! The first lot if reviews are def the real ones! Soooo over priced for what you get which is bland and blah pizza. Lacking toppings and there was no beautiful woodfire flavour at all! I don't mind the fact that all the staff seem to be kids but just really boring bland pizza. The BBQ chicken had barely any sauce and the chicken was dry and had been crumbled? The Hawaiian had just big slices of ham like you would buy in a deli, there was hardly any garlic on the garlic pizza. There was like 1 bit of pineapple or mushroom or capsicum per slice. For $30 may as well have just made my own! Could get a better pizza cheaper from some dodgey little takeaway.

By far the best pizza on the Peninsula. Bases are perfect - toppings generous. Staff lovely. 8/10

SIMPLY THE BEST. I love pizza and good food in general and I go back to the Pizzeria On Norman with friends almost weekly because it is honestly a sure thing. I never have to worry about whether I'll get a good meal because even after trying a huge range of the options at Pizzeria I am yet to be disappointed with a meal! The service is wonderful and the staff are all lovely people. I can't recommend this restaurant enough! Favourites are the Mediterranean Roast Veg and the Zucchini/Rocket toppings.

Good service, quick food. Wasn't the best wood fired pizza I've had, but definitely worth a go.

Bland!. I wanted to try this place because I had been passed it many times.. What a disappointment. First of all one of the previous reviewers was spot on when they said teenagers are cooking the pizzas. The only time I saw an adult / the owner was when I paid. I was also a bit surprised to see that the owner is also a real estate agent I saw at an open a few months ago (his business cards are also visible on the counter) Got the pizza home and it didn't smell like a pizza, I can't explain what it smelt like but it wasn't a pleasant one. The base was soggy and undercooked and the topping was quite bland. This is obviously a place that a local opened up thinking they can cook pizzas and charge you heaps because it's located on Oliver's Hill. These are not authentic, have no taste and I definitely wouldn't take friends and family there.

I have one bit of advice for this place. Why have 15 yearolds cooking the food. Really nice guy. Happy to please but his staff are useless. I did change the the pizza. I always do. And it was the most awful thing I think I have served up to me. I saw them making my pizza it was wrong so I asked them if that was my pizza. The kid said he had read it but forgot. Then made the worst thing I have seen, smelt and eaten. It smelt like a wet dog. But in fairness the guy came up to me and wanted to cook something else. But no I'm ok. But thinking about it. He cut it surely he would have seen that is was shocking.
Ps. I am writing this this because I read all the wonderful reviews on urban spoon I thought I live close I might like this place
Thanks for reading.

Excellant Dinning Experince. Rarely do I get knocked off my feet with a great dinning experince but wow what an amazing little place the pizzeria on norman is.
I have been a couple of times now 1st with another couple then with a group of 10. Both times absoulety enjoied our selves. I havent made it through the entire menu but what ive tried thus far has been the best pizza ive tried in a very long time, in fact i would say the best ive had. The pizza base is light and crisp and the toppings were just right not too much and not too little. Its clear that everything is fresh and care in takimg in preparimng the food. The resturaunt itself is a wonderful well fitted comfortable place to dine ( Although it was a little noisy 2nd time we went) The staff were all very pleasent and the manager Or owner was very accomodating with one of our group who has special needs due to allergies.
All in all great pizza, great staff great coffee

Waste of money. Had an absolutely dreadful pizza here the other night, ordered the delizie dal mare (prawn and scallop pizza) and it was avvvverage! prawns were supposed to be garlic marinated but tasted like absolutely nothing, not even like prawns! had to season the pizza as there was no salt or pepper to be found. pretty disappointing for a $19 pizza. won't return. ever.

Amazing pizzas! My friends and I regularly go -absolutely obsessed with the Mediterranean Roasted Veg it's my favorite!! Service always friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit, can guarantee you'll fall in love!

Soooo fresh!. Love this place. The best pizza on the mornington peninsula by far! You MUST try the gourmet zucchini with minted feta/ricotta (?) and rocket. OMG, so fresh and tasty. Just go there!
Pizza Lover
Excellent Pizza. Reading previous review absoluley amazed me, who bets thier life when the bases are rolled there on the spot in front of you. The pizzeria on norman is the freshest best value pizza ive ever had.
Glad you wont go back it frees up a table for me as they are booked out nearly every day of the week
YummYumm
Very dissapointed! We love.... Very dissapointed!
We love wood fired pizza so we went here for a change from our favorite in the area and I wish we hadn't. The pizza had no flavor and salami tased lifeless. The base was like a dry biscuit. Shame, nice little street and setup but won't go back.

Great little find. The pizzas, wood fired, are delicious - I've only every had their gourmet pizzas but the 'normal' pizzas look good too. Very busy little place but the turn over of people seems to be fairly quick - so if they can't fit you, just go and admire the view at Oliver's Hill for 30 mins and there will probably be a table available for you by the time you get back - worth the wait. Service is friendly and efficient the only dissapointment is the desserts - the gelato is nice but the tiramisu etc. are below par......oh well I guess after a pizza perhaps one should avoid dessert.
