Review Spud Bar - Frankston

Meththa de Silva
I'm a fan of Chicken Parma (one of the expensive items on their menu) from Spud Bar's menu and have been trying it from Bayside food court for couple of years. Tried it last week and attached picture describes what I got. Usually it's very filling and gets a full bowl. This time, I was served with less than half the bowl and some of the items are missing as well. Staff seem to have changed and I'm not sure whether management have changed as well. New staff is not an excuse for bad delivery. I have dealt with trainee staff before and they have to just follow the steps in the recipe. Anyways, service have gone to shambles and never going to use this store again...

What a jewel of a place! Staff were accommodating and friendly. My meal was scrumptious and oh so fresh! They serve vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes and have vegan mayonnaise and gluten free dishes. The servings are generous! They also have 2 tables with 4 chairs if you would prefer to eat away from the crowds. Support small business. Highly recommend. Highly recommended. T

Great experience here at Bayside Frankston today. I had the traditional bacon & cheese and it was absolutely delicious and really fresh. Price is great as the bowel you get is real filling. The customer service was outstanding, he was so friendly and had a brilliant attitude. Definitely will be a returning customer! Thank you :)

The customer service was disgusting, the website advises that Spud bar Frankston closes at 5pm on a saturday i arrived at 4.29 to be not even be greeted. There was a female standing in the back shaking her head saying they close at 4.30, i said well the website says 5pm She didnt even have the decency to come out. The food was still in the cooler so im sure if she wasnt so lazy she could of made me the 2 x spuds i wanted. Will now never come back, and id suggest hiring nicer staff with out attitude problems.

What was once a fresh, delicious and healthy option, has now become a shambles. My meal was topped with disgustingly old ingredients, including brown avocado with seed intact. The customer service was also very poor. There has undoubtedly been a change in management with absolutely no cohesion to previous standards. I will never order from there again!!!

Don’t order anything online from this shop these people greedy to accept orders and they don’t make them on time .. went there to pickup a order and person who was working there said it will take 10 min and after 10min they said it will take more time because they give priority to customers who comes to the shop. They don’t care about the customers who ordering from delivery platforms.worst service ever 👎👎👎

A healthy addiction indeed.

A very different concept of food which we do not find in india.

Base of the spudbar bowls are filled with an option of either normal boiled potato or sweet potato which they cut with a scissor and make it like a bit of mash. On top of it they give different toppings and salads.
Each spudbar bowl can fulfil 2 people's tummy for sure. You can take my word for that.

1) Moroccan chickpea and kale : A really tasty option in the veg category which is definitely worth trying. It includes warm Moroccan chickpea, a kale mix with the lovely wild rocket, a grain mix of quinoa along with some betroot, hummus and spring onions.
All these options go really well together and if u want some spice u can add some jalapeno to it like I did. This was had with normal potato.

2) Chilli bean and salsa : Another lovely concoction which went really well with the sweet potato. The spicyness of the tomato salsa and the sweetness of the potato gave it a good tangy zing. The other ingredients were mild chilli beans, corn , cheddar cheese, cabbage strands, some sour cream, topped with chips. Felt like I was having nachos. Delicious.

3) Mexican chicken : This was one of the simpler spuds that we had. It had some free range chicken, mild chilli beans, wild rockets, carrot and corn with a jalapeño mayonese. Personally I did not like this alot but again depends from person to person.

Overall a great experience reminded me of subway in a way where u get to choose ur ingredients. But never had something like this that too which was healthy and filling. Worth trying for sure.

This is a new place so I thought I should check it out. The salad I brought was literally one of the freshest salads I've ever had.

The stuff members here are great people. I must say that these guys didn't have such a smooth beginning, they had a few things against them. One was being the location & the other being their competitors serving cheaper deep fried meals. But these guys saw the odds and never gave up, for that I thank you, truely a underdog tale.

My salad tasted wonderful, best thing about it that it wasn't cold. I've been to restaurants where they serve you salad cold, that tastes awful and is the reason why salads are typically avoided. But by serving the salad fresh and warm is heavenly and the way it should be served.

Plus it's good to note that all their salads are gluten-free and are made from organic ingredients. It's also good to see that they have a lot of salads for vegetarians or vegans. Also another plus is that you can make your own salads.

If you actually do the maths works. It actually works out cheaper to eat here rather than buying junk foods. I'm looking forward to coming back here to try other salads. 😁 😊
