Review The Milkman - Frankston

Rebecca B-rown
What a great little cafe! Thoroughly enjoyed visiting I’ve pur weekend in Frankston, three times in fact! Very friendly and welcoming staff; they stock MilkLab Almond Milk which is by far the best almond milk for coffees and they know how to spin up a delicious coffee! Their breakfast menu was delicious and fresh. Would recommend and return! Thanks guys!

Recently had the wrong coffee marked as soy, lucky my partner tried his first or I would have been very sick after drinking a milk coffee. Coffee prices are a little bit ridiculous and I've noticed the service has gone downhill. A shame because the location is great. Definitely prefer eeny meany or ol' mate.

Had a double shot latte with good taste, nice coffee and friendly service. Even served after closing time. Willl come again you try the food.

One of my most favorite little cafes in Frankston! The location is in a nice private spot near the creek and less than a 5 minute walk to the beach. Incredible tea and yummy food! The staff are lovely and welcoming. Been here many times and will continue to visit a lot more in the future :)

Absolutely loved this place! Drove down from Sassafras to try it after reading the hot review by Broadsheet. And And it did not disappoint! The food is great value with huge servings and fresh ingredients. The menu is short but the dishes served are clearly made with thought and passion. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, though I would agree with other reviews that they are a bit disorganised which impacted time-frames. Each person on our table received their meals at different times. But nothing a bit of training wouldn't fix. All in all: recommend to try and will be back.

I keep coming back to this place assuming it's going to improve. It never does. The quality of the coffee isn't ever bad or terrible. It's just always exceptionally slow. You just can't come here wanting something 'quick'. Whether it's take away or eat/drink in, it takes a while and the staff never seem to be particularly interested in being efficient. This place has so much potential and it's always the staff that let it down.

Lovely setting, beautiful food and really helpful staff! Kids loved the budda bowl with a side of bacon and fruit smoothie! I loved iced coffee and chef amended item on the menu to meet my pregnancy needs! Very happy will return especially as they also contribute to voluntary causes!

Always make good strong coffee, and lovely staff, my favourite place!

My wife and I have been coming to the Milkman since they first opened and, like any business starting out, they have spent a bit of time getting the delivery of the key elements of a superb cafe experience working in harmony...but they’ve certainly done it. I can confidently say they are nailing the service, coffee (they’ve always been nailing the coffee!) and today we branched out and tried a few new things on the menu and it was seriously delicious. We have always loved this place and are loving the growth of their business. Go and try out this place - it really is the best cafe in Frankston, and maybe even Morn Pen!

I would rate 2.5 stars if it was possible. I've been there a few times. Until today had it in good concept. The chai latte it's very nice. Little, cosy place if the weather is nice. Food is ok. But today the service was bad, music very loud to hear my friend and paid the most expensive avo smash ($16 for one piece of toast with avo and I got the crust of the bread - thin and crusty) when I mentioned it to the waitress just a bad face no apologies nothing...bad attitude.

One of the best coffees in the Peninsula !! Breakfast burrito on point !! Service friendly and sincere. Could operate more efficiently e.g. 'Please wait here to be seated' sign, use table numbers (order & pay at counter), or staff allocated to sections for service. Will visit again definitely though !!

Slack service! Went in during the week for a coffee, got ignored and waited for 20 minutes still with no coffee. Had to ask for someone to take my order and then was forgotten about. Shocking attitude towards customers. Last time I went, got served a muffin which was completely frozen in the middle (and even after asking two times to reheat) and previous to this, ordered a sandwich which tasted awful (not fresh!) This place just looks good but fails in so many areas. Never going back as there are other cafes which are much better in the area. Try Eeny meenys or one pear tree. Don’t bother with this place-has small servings for coffee too and overpriced foods which don’t even taste good. Disappointed!

Ummm - wow! What an incredible setting. A little oasis with great beats, smashed avo and easily hands down the best coffee in Frankston! Oh... and smiles all round. The best

Finally Frankston gets a great cafe with a water view! Excellent coffee with an array of milk to cover everyone's dietary needs. Great staff and beautifully designed space. I'll be back!

Ordered what looked like a good portion of mushrooms with spinach on toast and what arrived was half the size. It cost $18 each. They offered to cook more But said that the portion had wilted. Declined more but wish we had. I rang and left a message for them as felt like been robbed. No response today. Very disappointed and won't be back.

The tumeric Later was perfect. Its so nice to come to such a relaxed, leafy green cafe. Loved the chilled music and hearing the waves of the beach in the background Customer service perfect Thanks guys for a wonderful experience.

Today I had coffee at the milkman, all I can say it is disappointing and has not improved since I went at day 2. 1. The surrounding tables were not cleaned 2. The highchair from a previous service still had crumbs on it. 3. The utensil holder had a knife which had been through a dishwasher that had dried the food contents on it. 4. A cup that had been chipped was served to us. The business needs someone who has an eye for detail, not just taking orders.

Love The Milkman have been 3 times now for breakfast have had The Avo Smash twice and The BLT with avo both so yum and their coffees are great also,so nice to have somewhere local to go

I really tried to like this place but sadly it really needs to be better. A keepcup should be filled to the top when you pay for a large. When the lid is on i don't expect to still be able to see through my glass because it is nowhere near full. Although they use quality beans (Code Black) there coffee fall well short. The barista needs a lot more training to better understand how to pour a decent cup or better yet, hire more staff and someone who is skilled. I cant comment on the food because the time when i did try and sit down for a breakfast, i was told the entire place was booked out and i couldn't order food. It was completely empty at the time. I might give it another try in a few months after the owner has had an opportunity to rectify these obvious faults. I would recommend they pay a visit to a Code Black cafe to see things done properly.

Milkman is located in Kananook Creek Boulevard. It’s a pretty small cafe seating roughly 20 people. On warm days there is some seating outside. It’s a pretty relaxed vibe. Coffee is good. Service can be slow sometimes. All in all it’s a pretty good cafe.

The milkman cafe is situated along the Kananook Creek with tranquil views overlooking the water. <br/>This cafe is a perfect spot for cyclist on their Sunday ride as it a little way off the main road on Nepean highway, yet easy to get to and tucked away at nice little corner spot. <br/>The coffee here is great and would recommend it!

The Milkman Cafe is located on Kananook Creek Boulevard in Frankston. Close to the beach, it’s tucked away in a lovely shady corner spot overlooking Kananook Creek. With lovely pastel blue tones & beautiful trees providing shade, it has a relaxed & casual feel. I’ve been there a number of times to meet up with friends for coffee, it’s away from the main Frankston area & it’s a lovely tranquil spot that seems popular for cyclists, dog walkers, mothers groups & business people working in the area.<br/><br/>They have a brunch/lunch menu & also plenty of lunch options to go, wraps & focaccia. They have a great range of drink & coffee options & the staff are lovely. The coffee has always been top quality & I noticed they’ve recently opened a gelato bar too, a fantastic idea given their proximity to the beach. <br/><br/>I’d recommend checking out the Milkman if you’re looking for a quiet spot away from the main shopping area in Frankston.

This place is great to grab a coffee on a nice sunny Saturday morning in the heart of Frankston. I've been here a few times now it's in a hidden spot but at the same time a great spot to grab a coffee to go for a stroll on the beach. This place is quite small and simple but open. The only thing they can improve on is their price for coffee. It's quite expensive, especially compared to other cafes in Frankston not worth paying $5 for a coffee.

Love this place! Friendly staff who seem proud of the food on their menu, which is great by the way! Great little brunch area on a nice, warm day! Keep up the good work, guys!

Couldn't rate this cafe more!

Brilliant service, delicious food, lovely atmosphere, don't listen to the 3 bad reviews dragging this rating down. This is the best brunch cafe I've been to in frankston by far.

Disappointing experience. Love the coffee and location, however for the 2nd time today (has happened in the past also) I was given a breakfast burger with dirt covered lettuce (HUGE dirt mound) - is it that hard to wash lettuce? Shame, as there are lots of other things to like about Milkman

Food and coffee were great but unfortunately the service not so much. The waiters didn't seem to know who had ordered what food, who had even been served yet and they seemed confused and lost.

The cafe was a little tricky to find, a very small venue. It was hipster central, no surprises. We loved it, food was delicious, portion sizes were awesome, prices were amazing. Staff at times a little distracted, but we are definitely going back to the milkman.

Cute cafe, great location and amazing food.<br/>Smashed avo (pictured) was really really yummy, friends had banana bread with citrus mascarpone/coffee butter which was awesome, most amazing banana I've ever tasted! 😍😍😍<br/>Definitely going back!!

Decided to check this place out as we were spending some time around Frankston. Great location and nice setting. We ordered our coffees and food. There wasn't much available on the menu. I'm thinking it might have been because they were a new cafe and had only been open for a few months. Still trying out dishes maybe? It took a while for our coffees to be served at least 20 mins. The food was served to us before our coffees. Our experience was good on the day but we would probably only visit again if we were in the area.

Very stylish and simple decor. The staffs were also friendly. But the service was way too slow. We have waited so long (about 20mins) for two coffee while the table wasn't cleaned up. If you want to try it out, please get more money ready as the dish was too small compared to its price. I will never to return.

Dropped in about two weeks ago on a Sunday and was very disappointed. The staff were turning customers away, whilst cooking food for themselves and were telling everyone that the kitchen was closed two hours before closing time. The staff were very loud and we could hear all about their private lives. As we were leaving two of the staff were smoking at the front of the store. Have eaten here before and was very pleased but this experience has left us disappointed.

This waterfront cafe is ideal for anyone - solo, families including the dog, and cyclists. The coffee is fantastic and the food is fresh and delicious. The service is friendly but we did have quite a wait for our food and for plates to be cleared. I'll definitely be back to try some more of the meals with my family.

Great flood and coffee and casual atmosphere. Lovely place to enjoy an alfresco breakfast or just a quick brew. A great addition to the Frankston foreshore area.

Wow! What great little cafe in a great little location. The styling, branding and colour were perfect! So vibrant and inviting! Staff were nice but service was'nt above and beyond. Coffee and Breakfast was good but not great! So much room for improvement to get a 5 but still one of the top cafes in Frankston! Quite pricey and not value for money!

Great addition to the area! Another good coffee place we can go now; and breakfast/brunch/lunch choices to compliment. In my opinion, there was only one place in Frankston that has good coffee - so I believe as a beachy suburb, both cafes can share the load of pumping a good cuppa!
Coffeeaddict
So this is the place Frankston has been waiting for. I can't believe it's taken this long but the milkman has nailed it. The coffee is always perfect. The menu is nothing exiting but the dishes are all executed well. They do simple well. They are a little bit pricey but then the servings are huge. For example the smashed avo if you want it with feta and an egg it's $24. I think a smashed avo should come with feta if it has no protein serve. But in saying that it's huge and you could almost share it. This cafe is light years ahead of its local competition. They could work on their speed of takeaway coffee too but it is worth the wait.
