Review Maheno Restaurant - Fraser Coast

Standard salad and sides buffet. The salmon and steak were good but not great. Really friendly staff.

During our stay we came here a lot and the food was pretty good. The sirloin was excellent I had that twice. The chicken breast and pork was delicious also. The buffet food was fantastic enjoyed the fresh salads particularly the potato ones. There was a salad with charred vegetables and it was my favorite. The staff were nice and friendly.

The Maheno Restaurant offer indoor dining and outdoor dining, poolside dining. At Maheno Restaurant you have a selection of 8 mains for dinner and included in the price is the buffet of sides and desserts. The buffet has a salad station, rice, vegetables (which may include broccoli, cauliflower, corn zucchini, pumpkin depending on the night), ceasar salad station, bread and a soup. The desserts include a selection of cakes, icecream and fruits. The mains are around $40 and includes dishes such as sirloin steak, Barramundi fillet, pork loin, chicken breast, lamb rump and fried squid. The mains were good and the steak was cooked correctly, as ordered. The buffet was very basic. I would suggest that all the items on the buffet are labelled. The restaurant also offers a Seafood Tower for $160 and an Australian Meat Tower for $110. Both of these are for 2 people and come with a bottle of house wine but does not come with the buffet selection. Also, a party of 2 can select a main each for $105 per couple and this includes the buffet and a bottle of the house wine. The cocktails were reasonable priced at $10 but probably needed another shot of alcohol. For lunch there are a selection of dishes for around $20. These include steak sandwich, club sandwich and burgers.

there is very limited selection for vegetarians and we had to eat the same dish more then once in the 3 days we were there. the serving size for meals were very small compared to what was paid for it. we ordered a Australian Grown Wild Mushroom Risotto (V) With enoki, swiss brown, shitake and button mushrooms finished with Italian truffle oil but there was no mushrooms in the risotto and at $27 i would expect that the dish has a reasonable serving size. this was not the case . it was so small that even my 5 year old daughter would need more . One of the restaurants has a VEGAN NOODLE BOWL for $37.90 Tofu, rice noodles, spinach, cabbage, bean shoots with a chilli lime drizzle. most people had soy allergy , why have this dish ?? Very poor value for money As Accor Gold plus member staff did not have knowledge of the rewards and meal discounts. we had to argue at every meal and show the terms and conditions on our phone and that is not acceptable .

So you pay $40 for a main dish which comprises of a type of protein. You then have access to a salad and sides buffet for "free". The steak was over cooked and dryyyyyyyy even though medium rare was ordered. I uploaded a photo. It was garnished with caramelized onion and NO sauce at all. When gravy was requested the waiter said they do not have any in the kitchen even though it was a part of another dish on the menu. I ordered a cheese burger and it was even dryer than th Sahara desert. (See uploaded pic) it didn't even have sauce. I had to add tomato sauce myself. Eat at seabelle.

The service was not great. No one at the restaurant or bar seemed to be customer service trained. We waited over 45 minutes for cocktails during happy hour before we inquired, they had sat on the bar the whole time warming up. We waited over 30 mins each morning for coffees. EFTPOS was down for the entire week for the over priced food.

Quite expensive mains. We decided to take the 105$ (two persons) menu that includes two mains plus the buffet selection and a bottle of wine. Better option that paying around 40$ for a main. The food was nice.

The food was quite good! However, we had to wait 20 minutes until we could order and then they forgot our drinks. You could expect more service for the price.
