Review Gesha Coffee Co - Fremantle

The atmosphere is great, the tables and chairs are great, the interior is beautiful, the food looks great too and tastes pretty good. The big downside is that they don't have a functional dishwasher. The glasses and cutlery are always dirty, especially the plastic cups. In all the glasses of the drinks we ordered there were grease or unidentified specs. Same in the salad and burger, just gross little bits left over from the dishwasher. It was gross, we didn't finish anything. After coming here a few times I asked the staff and they said yeah the dishwasher doesn't clean properly. I was a bit taken aback that they didn't feel it was a big deal to have dirty dishes. I think at the bare minimum a cafe should have clean dishes. I definitely would not recommend until they get their dishwasher fixed or buy a new one...

Our first stop in Perth after a red eye flight! Really good coffee and eggs benedict, super friendly staff and great vibe with a shop by the side selling cute items! Highly recommended! Oh has bicycle parking racks too! Only downside was that parking right in front of cafe is full, had to park on street. But it was easy since i was early. Perhaps might be an issue if later during the day.

More food photos were added.(2021-09-20) I was lucky to meet Mr Rocco, the friendly manager. Gesha was established in 2014 as a coffee roaster company in Fremantle by both Italian and Australians. The medium roasted coffee for today was surprisingly smooth, aromatic and tasty. There are a few types of roasted coffee beans for sale. This cafe is spacious and the building is simple and unique. The greyish dark wall and the brown wooden roof supports have added atmosphere to this cafe. The staffs are friendly. The management was very thoughtful by giving a lot of bike brackets for vertical parking. There are free visitor car parks at the corner within their premises. This cafe is also wheelchair friendly. Cheers! (2021-09).

This afternoon is five star, previous coffee knowledge and assistance from the owner has been five star! Such cheerful helpful staff, presenting unique and inspiring food, how much good luck to have dropped in here today!! Amenities are modern and very clean, home. Thank you for adding some glitz to the day !!

Gesha consistently does great coffee and a lovely breakfast. They have some great vegan options available and the staff and helpful and friendly.

Hands down fave coffee in this part of Freo. Service is super quick even when they are flat out serving the 200 cyclists that roll in every morning! Speaking of which they offer plenty of bike racks to stow away those race bikes safely. Food menu is delicious as well with plenty of breakfast options. Great atmosphere - top spot to catch up with mates before big day at job.

Every coffee and cafe brunch lovers must make a stop at Gesha Freo!

Brunch was amazing. Will visit again.

Came here a few weeks ago. Food was okay. Decent but slightly pricey as expected in fremantle. The coffee was really nice! They sell bags of their beans too which is really great!

Wasn’t worth it, there’s lots of better places in Freo to spend your money on. We arrived during a quiet time, asked a couple of questions the server was so inconvenienced, had no knowledge. Coffee was ok but lotsa Freo spots can do better than ok.

Excellent breakfast 10/10. Staff and chefs very nice people.

Dropped by for a quick coffee just few minutes to closing. Couldn’t resist a Florentine which was delicious too. They make good coffee and I would buy their beans someday.

Such good coffee. Seriously, they really make good coffee. In addition the breakfast menu offers a wide a delicious selection of food, with happy and professional service. Parking is generally good and provides easy access.<br/><br/>Recommended.

came in on a saturday morning. nice, open space with lots of empty tables to choose from at 10.30am. asked for eggs to be cooked extra runny, unfortunately they still came out slightly over cooked (yolks were slightly hard and the whites were really hard!). hollandaise was pretty tasteless and added absolutely nothing to the dish :( it may as well have been ham and eggs on toast. my latte was great - good depth of flavour and creamy. unfortunately my partner’s flat white was bitter and slightly cold. wouldn’t return after having used our only entertainment voucher here today.

Food: Very good quality, fresh and tasty. Loved the fact that they have good gluten free options. <br/>Coffee: Top notch....coffee of the week :) :)<br/>Service: The dark haired bearded man who served us was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Despite the fact that we made an impromptu visit close to closing time. <br/>4.5/5 stars and looking forward to our next visit.

A hell of a great cafe! Prior to boarding the Rottnest Island ferry we needed a coffee/breakfast fix. Stumbling upon Gesha was a great move. While there were way too many cyclists here waiting for their 'peenacheenos' we found a quite corner and ordered our muesli and eggs benedict along with some cappucinos. Plating, taste...everything was too die for. My wife said "this is the best muesli I have ever had" and that's a big thing coming from her.<br/><br/>Going to Rottnest Island? Need a coffee? Want to park your bike and grab a coffee? Go to Gesha.

Mmmmm....absolutely delicious food!! I had the Salmon Eggs Benedict and man did GESHA deliver!! So tasty. Would highly recommend this place to anyone and quite reasonable prices with really good sized portions!<br/>The coffee though....why can I say, where do I even start!? Hands down som of the best coffee I’ve ever ha anywhere!!! And trust me...I’ve had quite a bit of coffee from may different places!<br/>Absolutely love love love this place! <br/>The cafe’s atmosphere is lovely and the staff are absolutely friendly, with great customer service and fast service for a busy cafe!!! 👌🏽

Dropped in for a coffee after seeing urbanlist rating it as the best coffee in Freo. I was intrigued when I read they have their own beans and am always keen to support a local roaster. The cafe was really busy with a good selection of baked goods at the counter. My long mac was delicious. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up buying a kilo bag to take home with me. I’m not in Freo that often so had to make the drive worthwhile.

My Dad enjoyed the lamb breakfast that they used to have on the menu, stating it was one of the best breakfasts he's ever had. When returning he had the chorizo/hummus combination which he liked as well. I've had the eggs benedict which is okay, the bread is toasted well enough so you're not fighting to cut through it which is a plus. Overall had good experiences here.

Went for breakfast on ANZAC day and the place was packed! Food was great though! Eggs Benedict was delicious and the coffee was nice. The waffles were way too sweet even for a sweet tooth like me! But overall, a great place with good food.

GESHA Coffee Co is my favourite place to have breakfast and coffee. It has a fantastic atmosphere and a great selection of window sandwiches and muffins. The first time I went i would have given it a 2( 1 if the coffee wasn't so good) but since the menu has been updated it's hands-down a 5/5.<br/>The mushrooms and the waffles are the most flavoursome and filling meals I've had. I cannot fault either one of them! Everything worked well together and I am definitely going back before they update the menu again!

Coffee...just really bitter. Wasted my money. <br/>2 ham / cheese croissant ... small and just average $34.40 total :( <br/>Setting however was lovely
Frankie
Nice coffee and a good setting. I was working nearby and came here but was so busy on a Friday at 10:30 so it's popular. It's in a odd location but was pleasant. Food very nice and cakes to be had which look great along with an array of cold sandwiches if you are on the go. Im guessing a Saturday and Sunday will be busy so get in early if you want to walk in and take a seat without waiting.
Steve Brewster
Really solid place for breakfast & coffee - they do eggs really well & the coffee is of a high standard. I really like the skin on hand cut chips. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Great place to bring your dog as they have ample outdoor seating which is sheltered in winter.

A friend and I had sunday breakfast and place was bustling with people but it didn't feel crowded. We had eggs Benedict and scrambled eggs. Serving was big. Matcha tea and lemon ricotta cheesecake to top off breakfast. Yum.

Absolutely flawless! The coffee was delicious, the food was on point and the atmosphere was lovely and not too rushed, even on a busy Saturday morning. I had the polenta with poached eggs and it was awesome! I'm pregnant at the moment so I asked for the eggs to be well cooked which some places struggle with but they were perfect from here! A true Masterchef experience!
Billylamb
Great menu with lots of interesting options that are a bit different. Hard to choose as I wanted to try everything but chose the polenta, eggs with crispy sage and beetroot salad. The polenta was so tasty and textures were great, crispy sage, crunchy walnuts, oozy eggs. Coffee was a tiny bit bitter for my taste though. Would come back to try other items. Great value with the entertainment book.
Foodie Fella
Great coffee. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Was a large group of MAMILs at the cafe on Saturday morning, but still plenty of seats available.

I'd been to Gesha twice but didnt do review the first time. Cant really remember what I had back then, but everything was good and we had no complaint whatsoever. So I went there again a couple of days ago with friends and kiddos. We ordered Skirt Steak Sous Vide, 42def Salmon Fillet, and special of the day Barramundi Sliders. For me the Steak could do a bit more cooking, but my friend enjoyed it. I liked the Salmon dish. Its actually my kind of dish, clean and healthy but I wanted something different. My daughter loved the barramundi fillets, moist and not fishy. Chips were cooked well and nicely seasoned. For drinks we had Flat Whites and Ice Mocha using Gesha beans, roasted in-house. I've had Gesha coffees somewhere elses and quite liked it, although slightly bitter for me. Staffs were friendly and helpful. They have nice simple venue (indoor and outdoor), perfect for catching up sessions with mates. See you next time folks.

Been here for the coffee as i heard it was amazing. It truely great coffee. Had with with a muffin before work, energised me within minutes. Will be here for the food as i have heard that the smoked salmon was good.

Used to love this place but not a massive fan of the new menu. The lamington just dosnt really work and dosnt fill you up considering the price. The meringue was gross it just tasted of egg 😪. The chips were ok but the mustard aioli was horrible!! Way to much mustard it was so bitter. Usually come here every 2 weeks or so but sorry won't be back until the menu changes again
KJ
Lovely staff and lovely breakfasts, really enjoyed this venue. Spacious tables and all open and breezy for a casual meal or coffee. Great coffee here, very impressed.

Thursday morning and all is well, if you have either taken a day off work (me) or are a Perth cyclist in which case 8:30 am coffees in full racing outfit clearly does not interfere with whatever employ one has!!!<br/><br/>Now a firm Freo fixture, Gesha Coffee has been a frequent haunt of mine on many a (weekend) cycle!!! It can always be relied upon to produce good (if not quite excellent) coffee and has a broad selection of tasty and high energy treats to keep that lycra snug and your legs going for the trip home. <br/><br/>The service is always friendly, but word of warning, weary travellers, weekends can be super busy, so pedal fast and get there early!!<br/><br/>This morning's coffee was no exception and, seeing as I was not riding, I resisted the tasty treats. <br/><br/>Get on your bike and ride (to Gesha!)....<br/>
Foodieperth
The bircher muesli was actually pretty good here, but I thought that the texture was kind of weird and there were too many apple shavings on top of the actual bircher.<br/><br/>However, I came back for brekkie one morning and ordered the creme caramel. Perfect consistency, amazing poached pear and soft churros. Amazing.

Came here for breakfast this morning. I love this place. There was plenty of seating - which is good as the place was packed! The servings are very generous! I ordered my usual sides and was def not disassociated. The roasted tomatoes were delicious and cooked to perfection. Massive serving of salmon also. The coffees came out quick and hot. Would def recommend.

This place smells amazing as soon as you walk in! Managed to get the corner seating with high back armchairs, very comfy and cosy on a cool morning. Came for breakfast and coffee. I ordered from the sides menu due to restrictions in diet. (Only temporary as in completion training) I had the smoked salmon which they gave me what I asked of 100g, roasted tomato, mushrooms and spinage. All this on one plate was a massive serving. I could only eat half (due to diet restrictions) would normally have eaten the lot!! The others ordered from the main breakfast menu and they all loved their meals (eggs Benedict, etc) all very decent serves. Can't wait to try their options when I'm off my diet! Now to the coffee. Not much more I can say but amazing strong coffee. Loved it! I ordered a long Mac and since this place I'm no longer ordering flat whites. I even purchased their coffee pods (for Nespresso) $9.00 for 12 pods to take home. Beans also available. However I purchased the organic medium roast and sadly not strong enough for me so when we go back will be purchasing the dark roast next time.

I love this place! Came here for breakfast on a Friday morning. place was pretty busy but found a table inside easily enough. Ordered the Salmon eggs hollandaise and a coffee, both were delicious. I loved watching the man rotate the coffee beans during the roasting process and like that you can also buy their coffee here. Service was friendly and efficient with the ordering done at the counter. Decor is nice, love the wooden tables and wall art.  I will be back!

Every time I have been it has been amazing! Great coffee! And love the porridge it's so good without being to sweet. Absolutely love gesha and could not recommend enough

I was super happy with this place. It was crazy busy on a Saturday morning but everything seemed to flow very smoothly and quickly. The coffee was perfect (had a long black) and those waffles.... thoooosssseee waffles, bloody perfect I must say. Would definitely recommend this place for breakfast 👌

A brisky, but sunny morning, and I was craving coffee and sweet brekkie. The friendly wait-staff created us at the door with lots of people coming to get coffee to go, and cyclists making a pit-stop to refuel. This place was definitely buzzing. Once ordered at the counter I found the only other table inside, but plenty of options under the terrace, but it was a little chilly. Coffee arrived quickly, and it was a very good long Mac topped up. My Belgian waffle with Gesha espresso mascarpone, banana brulee, salted caramel, cardamom and walnut crumble was a large serve looked like I was about to go into a food coma; it splendidly delicious! First mouthful and I knew this was truly special, one of those trumpet moments, each element had been nicely balanced. I loved the salted caramel sauce, the crunch of the crumble, the fresh waffle, and the flavoured cream. I had not done a sweet brekkie in a long time, since my pancake days, but this dish made me realise how much I had been missing out. Beautiful food, excellent coffee, friendly and efficient service, this place has everything going for it in uber cool warehouse café.
Renato
What a brilliant breakfast and coffee! The pumpkin, feta, walnut with poached eggs, spinach and burnt butter sage was heavenly. I got avo on the side too, which made it perfect in my books.

Unlike the string of café's popping up hidden down side streets, GESHA takes the much more in-your-face approach with its loud and proud signage on the corner of Queen Victoria and James, and having ridden by many times previous, we finally decided to stop in for breakfast.<br/><br/>Despite being well-cooked, there was nothing extraordinary about the grilled haloumi and poached eggs - they're standard affairs on most breakfast menus. But the roasted paprika eggplant hidden underneath all the greenery? It's very hard to pick fault with eggplant when its soft yet meaty texture is contrasted by a light crust - a standout.<br/><br/>Simple yet satisfying, the house beans with spicy tomato ragu and poached eggs hit the spot, but definitely could have done with a little more heat for those who really love their spice.

Popped in for a quick coffee. I decided to have an espresso. Very happy with my decision. The espresso had that golden crema sitting on top and it passed the sugar test with flying colours. What is the sugar test? Its when the sugar sits on top of the crema for a second or so before it breaks through to the coffee below. I find it the best way to rate a good espresso and its also a delight to watch! The coffee taste was perfect, no bitterness at all, leaving that "wanting more" taste in my mouth. Would definitely rate the espresso as one of the best I've had. All coffee is roasted in house and if you manage to go while they are roasting, you can watch them do it. Now I need to go back and try a breakfast!<br/><br/>Finally managed to get here for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. I had the oven baked polenta with poached eggs, burnt butter, baby carrotts, crispy sage & walnuts and my partner had the roasted eggplant with hummus, poached eggs, feta, pomegrante, preserved lemon and dukkah. They were both outsanding dishes and very hard to fault. The combination of flavours worked so well in both dishes. Thoroughly enjoyed and will definately be back for more. Oh, and the espresso is still up to scratch...

Always a good coffee at Gesha! Perfect almond milk FW for me although BFs long mac is a little milky (and he would say it lacks complexity). No food for us today but the last meal I had here was tasty and generous. Will be back soon :)
Roxy Imb
Definitely the best coffee in Freo. Freshly roasted on premises, I love the aroma surrounding the cafe when you enter. I tried a couple of things from the menu and the counter and I was not disappointed. Staff also friendly and nice. Definitely recommend!

We were 4 adults and 2 children who stopped at Gesha for a quick coffee and breakfast after a swim at the beach. Although it was busy with a few tables reserved, the waitress quickly made arrangements to accomodate us and even suggested putting down the blinds to block out the sun. Coffees came quickly along with yoghurt and fruit which was off the menu. The poached eggs with chorizo sausages were delicious and the GF orange and poppyseed friand was perfectly moist and a nice treat for the children. Special mention to the lovely waitress Sam for being friendly, proficient and warm. Well done to the ladies at the counter who were efficient and made sure the lines moved quickly. Best part our dogs could sit around which made for a lovely ambience. We will definitely be back!

Coffee Lovers Delight! House roasted coffee with home made food. .....Amazing! Service like " Fast and the Furious". Beautiful way to start your weekend! A another great place from Freo.
Wags Out West
Today I stopped in at Gesha for a quick coffee with Annie. It’s a cafe come roastery with a warehouse-y industrial feel located on the busy corner of James and Queen Victoria Streets in Fremantle near the old bridge. They have a good selection of drinks, sandwiches and cales as well as a limited ‘cook to order’ menu. I chose a flat white and a slice of pumpkin bread for $8.50. The slice of pumpkin bread was a bit of a let down, it lacked fruit and was very grainy. The coffee however, was tasty if very strong.

I came in today and was pleasantly surprised, the service was incredible the girls on the counter where positive and incredibly accommodating, and considering how hot it was their energy didn't drop, very professional. The food was delicious and we didn't have to wait forever(which seems to be a trend in Fremantle) very happy with my visit and will definitely be returning soon!!
Grace
<br/>Amazing !!! <br/>I had heard nothing but great things about Gesha coffee so me and my husband thought we would wonder down and give it a crack, we were nothing but happy with our visit - it is so refreshing to walk into a cafe and be greeted with nothing but smiles ( a rarity in Fremantle ). The young girl on the till was so chirpy and full of life which was nice to see. The coffee was fast in coming out and was beautiful ! Great food also ! All members of staff seemed to get on so well and were lovely to the other customers around us, amazing cafe would recommend - not sure where all these other people went but the cafe I visited was nothing but a great experience !
Vegemicated
I did not eat here so I can't comment on the food, but I had the coffee and it was average at best. I wouldn't call the outdoor seating area dog friendly as it's pretty tight and enclosed in cafe blinds. There are much better coffee places to go to.
Eatwithhendri
I came with high expectation in terms of food presentation and coffee after seeing some coffee pics with nice latte art, sadly it turned out to be disappointing. I would say food presentation was rustic and felt like dining at home with paying such pricey meals particularly the jap pumpkin menu ($19) which i think it's way too pricey. Meal came with few slices of grilled jap pumpkin and string beans with red capsicum pesto, sour cream and 2 fried eggs. Seriously how much do we pay for those veggies which are currently in season? I was thinking to rate this place at 3.50 sadly because of food presentation and the price I think 3.00 is more than enough.
Emmasophieoliver
Absolutely beautiful fresh food presented well! The staff are busy but always attentive. Very cool tunes playing on a Sunday morning. Coffee is probably the best I've had in Perth !
Alex Newman
My family and I visited a few weeks back and although the coffee and food were great the customer service I received really wasn't so good. I asked a question regarding a meal and the girl on the front counter sighed, said she would ask someone else. She seemed really annoyed and I found that a little off putting. There are plenty of great cafes in Fremantle so I don't think I'll be heading back anytime soon. Otherwise it could've just been a bad day for the staff and I was just unlucky!<br/>
Ross
We really enjoyed the house roasted coffee both espresso and flat whites. Only hiccup was that one breakfast came up quite a bit later than the others but all the breakfasts were tasty.
5loaf2fish
I first got to know about GESHA coffee when they had a small pop-up booth at Fremantle Market. Since my first cup, I was hooked and even went back to seek for more! However, I didn't realise they were only there temporarily so I went away sad and unsatisfied.<br/><br/>I chanced upon their cafe one day while I was looking for new place to try! I dragged my Guinea pig and off we went! <br/><br/>Verdict: Coffee wasn't as great as the first cup and food was so-so. Was a bit disappointed. Actually was quite disappointed. Woe is my tastebuds.
Meg AF
Service was excellent, was greeted buy very lovely girls who where enthusiastic an professional, food was delicious will definitely be back!

To begin with, Gesha roasts their own beans. You can tell when you drink a coffee whether or not the establishment has put that extra bit of effort in t ensure quality. It's quite clear thar Gesha is taking the time to produce consistent, good coffee. My only qualm is that the beans are lacking a little character. The breakfast menu is fantastic with plenty of healthy, allergen aware, vegetarian options that don't lack flavour. I got the chickpea, sweet corn and barley salad which was a healthy, nourishing, fresh tasting dish perfect for a warm spring morning. My partner got the mushroom bruschetta which he must of enjoyed because he hit my fork away when I attempted a sneaky bite. Service was efficient, a little impersonal but sometimes that's preffered. Prices were also very reasonable ranging between the $15 and $23 mark. It was so satisfying to visit another lovely little cafe in Fremantle which showcases the culture and quality of the food in the area.
Cassie
I liked that they have an outdoor alfresco area that is covered so you can sit outside in fresh air yet be shaded from the sun and have your dog there with you. I had the Japanese pumpkin, string beans and fried eggs with capsicum pesto and sour cream. It was a very simple dish, and the capsicum pesto tasted just like the capsicum dip you can buy from the supermarket. However I did like how the roast pumpkin was cooked, had nice charring on the outside which gave it a crisp texture. I would return again but try another dish. My friend who ordered the mushroom bruschetta with extras said that she enjoyed her dish.

Great coffee and staff. Good to see some life in that part of town. Want to try some of the yummy looking cakes next time. Good luck to them

Great spot for brunch with lots of free parking. They roast their own coffee beans and their coffee is excellent! Had the baked beans with poached eggs which was good but the beans could have been cooked a little more. Loved the jalapeño relish that came with it, which added just the right kick. Good service.

Popped in for coffee on a beautiful August day. Coffee was great and enjoyed the casual vibe. Will be popping in again in the near future and will try the food as well.

Had the mushroom bruschetta and it was delicious. Loved all the different varieties of mushrooms, cooked to perfection- my favourite breaky in Perth! Yum!!

A day trip within a holiday is perhaps one of the nicest ways to relax and see more of a city's sites.  Everyone recommends Rottnest Island and we stopped off at the lovely Freemantle for breakie on the way.  Gesha caught our eye as a popular spot with parking out the front.  We were not disappointed.

Good vibes good service and tasty food! Menu well priced and had an interesting range of meals to satisfy the pallet. Recommended breakfast spot to try!

Great cafe location with plenty of free parking around. At the quieter side of Freo, which is refreshing for a change. It's not crowded even during breakfast brunch hours on weekends. Food quality is excellent with a good variety menu. Great coffee too. They roast their beans in house so that is welcoming news for coffee aficionado. Would definitely return again and again.
Jasper Leong
Excellent coffee. Food is plentiful good too. Also loving the atmosphere as it is less crowded like the rest of the Freo cafes. Hopefully it stays that way. Will definitely be back for more!

Went for Breakfast and had the Eggs Benedict. It tasted really great and coffee was great too. Service was very friendly and quick. The place was really busy so must be really popular.

I went to GESHA last weekend, with a large group of girlfriends. I commend them on reserving such a large table for us, and not pushing us out the door, after we finished our meal. The setting is a amazing, cool vibe, but unfortunately what we were there for was not so great. The food was a little bit bland. I don't like to be negative, but these were probably the worst tasting zucchini fritters i'd ever eaten. They were had no taste, the salad that accompanied it didn't even help, it almost needed labna or greek yoghurt or SOMETHING! unfortunately i wasn't the only person on the table that was disappointed with their meal. i will however give them a second chance somewhere in the future. just below average, which i was so disappointed about, because i had read great things.
Dolce Vita
This place is a blessing to our neighbourhood. Open early so that you can sneak in a healthy breakfast before work. We have been here many times and always found the food to be delicious, spot on. I can't pick a favourite meal ... The bruschetta? The fritters? Coffee is great! Yay, for this end of town. We have always found the staff to be delightful and are very grateful to the hardworking and gracious team who make a tricky location really work!
King Kunta
Average. Average food and average coffee. Try it once and move on. I had tell them my order at least 3 times and they kept delivering a meal to the table that nobody ordered.<br/>

I wanted a quick bite on the way home and as I was driving by I saw this cool looking cafe. There was plenty of street parking near by so I decided to give it a shot anyway. Food and service were great and I enjoyed my gesha hot dog. . Rating: 75% - would recommend!. GESHA hot dog - $15. Chia and coconut pudding - $12

Lovely place !!! Well set up!! <br/>Café is Awesome and good value. Lunch menu need to be little cheaper for the location and choices . Highly recommend
Jess6023
Great food and coffee, but..... Living around the corner we've frequented Gesha countless times (nearly everyday for coffee) and never been disappointed by the food or coffee. But I have to say the service can be hit and miss. The girls on the counter are so frequently flat and unfriendly that it's become a bit a running joke in our household about service that day. And you often have to remind them if you order a muffin - otherwise you can do as I've done and pay for one but not get it.<br/>But there are definitely times when we've had great service and the food and coffee are consistently great which will keep us coming back.

Top marks all round. This place has a great vibe. It was buzzing this morning with happy people. The breakfast with the lot was great, staff happy and efficient, and food and drinks delivered in a timely manner. Great to see what these guys have created out of what was a tired old audiocom shop. Good vision and excellent delivery, well played.

Fantastic cafe in Fremantle!. Well done to the guys who set up Gesha as we finally a fantastic cafe in Fremantle that offers amazing coffee and delicious food every time!!<br/>We have now visited Gesha on numerous occasions with friends and family since they opened a couple of months ago and have received such prompt and friendly service, wonderful coffee (best in town we think as we also took some fresh roasted coffee home to enjoy) and delicious fresh food every time!!<br/>We have had several items off their menu and the food has always been consistently great as well as their lunch specials which are a must try!<br/>Its very refreshing to see such an original cafe with the owners on the floor greeting customers and working with their efficient team in such a great environment that they created. With the grand red coffee roaster in the corner and the smell of fresh roasted coffee in the air this is a very cool place to be.<br/>The cafe is very very busy on the weekends but it's great to see that the friendly and efficient service doesn't fall and the staff are always smiling as such good service is pretty hard to find! <br/>I'm sure the word is getting around town that this is definitely a place worth checking out!! We will be back soon as it's our favourite place!!!

New breakfast favorite. Popped in on a busy Sunday morning for a coffee and breakfast. I was treated to some yummy eggs on toast and best hot dog I've had. I loved the flavors, fresh and spicy, and I thought it made a great breakfast. <br/><br/>The coffee was top notch, as good as I've had anywhere. I can't wait to come back

Great breakfast experience!!. Great coffee and delicious breakfast. Very friendly staff. We will be going back very soon:)

Great coffee! Love the breakfast and funny lovely staff!

Breakfast was good but a 10% surcharge when it's not a public holiday is not cool! The poached eggs looked like they were made last week.

Cool cafe with a nice menu. I enjoyed the lunch and coffee. The staff are friendly and the design of the cafe is interesting.

Gesha. Great hot dogs

Like the expensive prices here at the cafe.. To be fair Gesha is a cafe that is much needed down this end of Freo, so we were very pleased to see it open and appreciate the high cost of rent, renovation and staff employment salaries ect. It is not easy attracting customers here in Fremantle with so much competition. I wish you well. HOWEVER :<br/><br/>Gesha is beautifully set up, the food is reasonable and the service is also reasonable. I do wish it had table service, for its prices it should. I am a little over the high price of coffee here, $5 for a soya flat white. A little expensive. The water we drink is delicious. The management is respectful and pleasant. <br/>It would be good to have a SENIORS price range, perhaps 10% off items, or a Seniors Tuesday, something which shows a little generosity to the community. Many of my friends do not come due to the prices. WE NEED TO REMEMBER THAT IT IS THE GOODWILL OF THE CUSTOMER THAT KEEPS A CAFE GOING.

Best coffee in Perth/freo. Went on the opening day, place was packed.<br/><br/>Great coffee probably one of the best mocha's the food was decent and the atmosphere was really relaxed.<br/><br/>My new choice for my morning coffee<br/><br/>- Andrew

Great coffee. Had coffee and Bircher museli for breakfast at Gesha last weekend. Service was a little slow, though the place was packed! The coffee was really good and the Bircher museli was great.

New favourite breakfast place!. I went to Gesha this morning for breakfast and instantly loved the atmosphere it is a very cool venue without trying too hard, like a lot of new places. We were<br/>Waiting on some friends so we ordered coffee and the fig muffin, service was excellent we received our order promptly and the muffin was fresh and tasty and coffee was great. The coffee is their in house brand and it was what you would expect. I ordered the breakfast salad after my muffin fix and it was the perfect balance of everything, and it was the first non bread based breakfast I had had out that tasted amazing that I felt satisfied and wasn't hungry after. One thing I have to mention is that I noticed that the menu was well designed to suit most eaters and in most cases there would be no need for a side order of anything. Everyone else loved their meals, hence the necessity to leave a review. So if you are after fresh delicious food and you want an enjoyable relaxing breakfast I would highly recommend Gesha! Thanks

Very tasty coffee at a great price. The blueberry & orange load was delicious. Away from the hustle of inner Freo with free parking. Will be back to try the breakfast menu!

And a Happy First Birthday (19 January 2016) to all at Gesha Coffee Co - still maintaining a standard and one of the best all-persons café customer layouts of dining, décor, coffee roasting, kitchen and service areas - catering for the group, individual, the sweaty, the lycra set, well-dressed, all ages - including pets and very friendly and efficient young wait staff.  Reasonable prices, consistent quality and thoughtful, caring owners ....many, many returns by the many ... onwards to a successful second birthday.

The only failing of this place was how impossible it was talking to the girl on the till. Ordering breakfast she recited things and all I could gather was white or brown bread. <br/><br/>After good food and pretty good coffee I tried to order 500g of house blend beans. She gave me a number which I thought odd and 10 minutes later with wife and kids waiting in the car we established she put through baked beans for me. Awkward moment with the manager who implied it was my fault for not knowing their menu and with a smile he over charged me the difference and gave me two bags off the counter. They need to go up to the roasting warehouse to learn how to sell beans. <br/><br/>Unfortunate given the food was pretty good and coffee whilst not that robust was good.

First impressions last, so make the first impression a good one. It was a quiet Monday morning and when walking in I was greeted with nothing but attitude. Sure it is a Monday but staff should atleast look the customer in the eye, acknowledge the customer and then maybe be able to recognise the customer so they don't spend half their morning wondering around the cafe looking for table numbers to deliver the food. The cafe actually has a real uneasy vibe, not so much from the customers but more from the staff. Out of all the staff members working Monday morning only one actually had a smile on her face. <br/>So my message to gesha coffee co would be, there are a lot of cafe options in fremantle and good help is hard to find. Your food is great, coffee is great but your staff are going to break the business so I suggest finding better help.

Well another Perth cafe and another chance to line up to order. Asked a question about the size of the cup and got attitude from the barista. My long black had absolutely no Crema left on it when it arrived. Food choice pretty basic for the price. Won't be going past all the coffee places on South terrace to come here again.

The wait for our food and service was lousy, hopefully this was just a teething problem for the cafe. The food was nice, well portioned and priced and the interior is pretty cute. I would go back to try it again in a few months.

Don't bother. The coffee is really ordinary and the location is lousy

Ridiculous wait time. Coffees were quick to reach our table but the food took forever to come (1 hour 15 mins) even though it wasn't a full house.

Don't normally do reviews but OMG. So terrible. The service was so bad. They'd stuffed up my order such that everyone else in the party got their food and mine didn't come. Waited 30 minutes and had to chase up the waitress. When the food finally arrived there was no apology. <br/><br/>Terrible service. And food is just average.

First and last visit. Decided to try Gesha for our weekly breakfast today. Was told it would be 45 min wait for our poached eggs on<br/>toast do decided to just have coffees. 25 minutes of waiting still no coffees so cancelled them and walked out.<br/>Went to Jac and the Bean instead, fabulous food, fabulous coffee, fabulous service and no waiting.

Great coffee and service. Finally a place with good coffee without the attitude. Friendly staff makes all the difference here unlike a certain place in South Fremantle

Underwhelming. After being told I would wait 25 minutes for breakfast, 50 minutes later I received 2 dry bits of toast with overcooked poached eggs. Coffee was good but the food and service needs work

An interesting addition to the northish end of Fremantle! (And perfect if you're waiting for a car service or class at the Leisure Centre). Great fit-out, similar to Di Bella. Food and coffees are all the usual options but service was above and beyond what is now "usual". The mix of counter and table service works well. There's a large kitchen and a roastery - it will be interesting to see how this place develops. A "coffee tasting plate" or matched coffee/food pairings would be a novel addition to the Freo scene.
