This is it our local favourite Italian restaurant in Fero. The menu I love it “ Spaghetti marinara “ , I have try this dish in many Italian restaurant around Perth but no one like this. This dish so amazing, I always order this menu. Very recommended this restaurant to local and visitors to try. 1 start lost for service, this restaurant can be very busy on the weekends and service was slow and staff not enough to taking good care of customers.

Loved it!! I've been around a few places and Ruocco's definitely has the best grilled seafood platter. Fresh and simple, no over the top add on toppings/batter.. seafood the way it's supposed to be ! Chips were crunchy, yet fluffy on the inside. Pizzas had a great base and good flavour. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!
Ashley
We didn't have a reservation, the staff were very friendly, gave us an outdoor seat, the food was delicious, the seafood was fresh and original, pizza Italian style we enjoyed our dinner♥️we will come back , thank you friendly front desk staff

The best place to taste Italian food, especially Pasta. Friendly staffs & nice place. We love it. Recommended to everyone.

The food was very nice. We would definitely return. Mousse was too rich but it could have had more cream..not complaining, just my taste. I think they are doing a great job..when very busy I'm sure they could handle it..very impressed with the staff. Lady looked very tired but her service was very accommodating. Thank you all.

Food was great. Place is cosy. Service failed us. We got our order after an hour of wait as the lady who took our order didn't pass our food order to the kitchen as she is about to go home. But let us just forgive as the lady went home because she doesn't feel well. Hope she's ok though.

What an experience. The venue was alive with a great vibrant atmosphere. Lots of family groups together and enjoying themselves. The food was amazing and echoed flavours of Italy right to the plate. Several different meals were enjoyed by our group and were all satisfied immensely with their dishes. Thankyou

We went for a bday lunch to Ruoccos on Sat 12pm..There was only a handful of people sitting outside and my partner and I...he ordered his fave meat calzone and i had the fritto misto seafood plate. Although the service was quick and prompt, we never saw our waitress after she popped our plates down..my dish needed seasoning and there was no salt to be found? I had to get up and use the pepper grinder myself from her station. The toilets are a nightmare walk through the back end of the restaurant, very unappealing. Mixed with the smell of food and disinfectant...hmm yeh meh!

We were excited to get pizzas from Ruocco's pizza tonight. However, we are extremely disappointed. We ordered from Uber eats and to begin with, the restaurant forgot our garlic bread. We are now sitting here, after spending $75, eating three child-sized pizzas. Not only are they very small and soggy and not worth the money, but the ham and other products on our pizza are of very bad quality. I called and the lady on the phone said they couldn't do anything about the garlic bread as they couldn't deliver and couldn't refund me. I recommend dominos or crust over this #sizedoesmatter

Went to have lunch yesterday and after asking if they have any vegan food got told that they indeed have gluten free 🤔 Anyway, they were nice enough to make me a pizza with no cheese or any animal ingredients but forgot to add the olives I asked for. The pizza base was nice and crispy and really yummy but the waitress never came back to see if we needed anything else or to just see how we are going. Won't be back here

The pizzas are amazing will go back and try something else. Will recommend everyone to go and eat. Service was great even tho they where very busy. So highly recommend them.

The absolute bomb in pizza and the best carbonara have had in a long time. Ragu gnocchi also very good. Super fast and friendly service too for a walk in. Worth the trip south of the river!

Delicious pizza and scrumptious calamari...the wine and beers were good too! New favourite pizza place? Could well be!!

Had the pleasure of dining at Ruocco's for my dad's birthday. Although my steak was a little under cooked, the staff did everything they could to accommodate and fix the problem - great service. I tasted some of the dishes my siblings had ordered and they were all superb. We will definitely be dining at Ruocco's again. :)

I had my 40th birthday at Ruoccos. The food and service was amazing. Special thank you to our waiter, Luke, who dealt with our raucous crowd of 25 with efficiency and good hunour. We will definitely be back.
Lewie Addison
ordered a spaghetti bolognese and got a gnocchi instead and then to top it off burnt the side of the parmagana.. used to be such a golden place

Ruoccos is usually a go to place for us on a Sunday arvo, but the meal we had today was horrible. The gnocchi was bland and didn't taste like the usual home made pillows that Ruoccos is known for - it tasted store bought. The Gamberetti pizza was nothing like it usually is and had way too much chilli and sauce. Not sure if it's new management or a new chef but whoever it is has ruined what was an amazing restaurant!
Jeannie O'Hara
Love the food it was great , and the staff were great. The food was to long coming out but they apologize and gave us our pizzas for free. So we were happy in the end. We will be back

I had seafood Risotto absolutely delicious.. my friend had Ravioli i dont usually eat it she insisted I try was excellent...table of 20 not one person had an issue...seriously unheard of these days...if any criticism maybe bar staff bit slow..overall experience pretty damn good

Breakfast on the sunny side of South Tce. Delicious No Toast breakfast with a potato cake instead. Grilled asparagus, eggs, bacon, spinach for the bloke. Very nice service.

The seafood pizza was the best I've ever had. The prawns were fresh as.

Went here on Friday had the Crab Linguine which was superb, good size serve. Good service considering they were almost full. Will be back.

This restaurant has gone downhill rapidly.  Have been here many times but last night (31/12/2019) was absolutely horrible.  Area we were in was very cold, staff wouldn't do anything as more people would be filling up the area in 20 minutes and it would then get hot.  Over an hour later and still cold.  Entrees were fine (not great, but fine).  Main meal was Osso Buco - we changed out the gnochi to mashed potato.  This dish had zero flavour, more fat than meat and the mash could not be any drier.  A pasta dish was also had at our table that had no mention of chilli until it came.  The Tiramisu was a joke.  The savoiardi biscuits can't have been dipped in anything as when I went to spoon some out the entire biscuit came out (same to the other two in it).  You couldn't taste any coffee at all and there were bits of chocolate in it.  Very, very disappointed.  Won't be back have found a better place.  Have given one star as the table was ready.  Also do not get a voucher from here as what is on the voucher has to be spent in one sitting ie. $150 in one night.  No refunds, no voucher for another night.

What a shame this place has gone so down hill. Will not be back. This local icon is now a awful.

I have many to Rocco's many a times as I am a freo local but I've now had two back to back encounters of not liking the meal. The new manager dealt with it very poorly making me feel bad about it. Shes sooo unfriendly! I've never seen her smile. She makes you feel very comfortable. She didn't apologize for it what so ever. The pizza was lovely and so was the dessert but sorry that manager has left a bad taste in my mouth. The rest other staff are lovely.
Mark
Extremely disappointing.<br/>After some mediocre starters, we ended up with the rib eye. No mustard available apparently, so asked for some chopped chilli. What I got was a rare steak which was un-cut-able. I then asked what about the chilli, only then be be served with a bowl of soft oily chilli out of a jar. We also had the gnocchi. The sausage was hotter than the bowl of chilli. 3rd strike (yes we’ve tried this 3 times always hoping for a better result) we’re out.

Today we invited our friends(from city beach) to join us for lunch...wow..they were overwhelmed with the menu choices.and our friendly helpful waitress was lovely and happy.being a lovely sunny day we sat outside.so we all enjoyed our main meals and the desserts..we couldn't resist..we often dine at Ruoccos and our friends have discovered and will be back..
Foodie In Paradise
We came here for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant is not very busy. Service was very friendly. My friend found a dead cockroach on one of the empty plate on our table. The waitress was very apologetic and kindly explained that there recently just had pest control done and quickly changed our plate for us. The food came out quite quickly not long after we order. Food was very yummy but maybe a touch salty. There have an extensive menu and overall we had a lovely dining experience here.

Exceptional!<br/>Ruocco's is a Fremantle institution and I have been here about 15 times over the years. Food is fast out the kitchen and very delicious. Pasta carbonara is by far the best. Great wine selection and you have to get the creme brulee or tiramisu. You will not be disappointed. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. I will move in as a permanent resident if they have the rabbit spaghetti al forno back on the menu.

One of my favorite restaurants in Freo. Food is always good. One of my favorite dish is the good old meatballs linguine! Staffs are also very friendly. It gets packed during dinner time so make sure you make a booking.

Great, tasty Italian food. Love to sit outside on a fine day and soak up the local atmosphere. Check out the Gorgonzola gnocchi, wood fired pizza or rocket, pear and blue cheese salad. Mmmmmm. Licensed too!
Mister Bean
This place is iconic. Only a place that serves consistent and good value for money food could survive as long as they have. food is cooked well, made of quality produce and always on point. Love everything on the menu and have never been let down. My favourite is Ruoccos special pizza. This place has a nice, casual, friendly atmosphere. Great for a family dinner. It gets very busy on weekends - book ahead of you want a table. Well done ruoccos - favourite place to eat in freo area.

We went for dinner and what an amazing evening. The service were great, very friendly staff, our food absolutely fabulous, and waiting time on the food was very quick for such a busy restaurant. I highly recommend Ruocco's.
GetinmyBelly
Tried several dishes ie pizzas, pastas, ribeye steak, mussels, and an assortment of entrees. However, really enjoyed the funghi pizza which was the highlight of the meal! Overall an enjoyable and great ambience for a family night out!

Some friends and I came here for dinner after looking for an Italian restaurant to try. The menu was huuuuge and a little overwhelming but we loved everything we ordered and the sweet potato gnocchi was definitely a standout. Prices were moderate but were definitely worth it. Food was fresh and came out super quick and the service we received was awesome apart from one server who just seemed to be having a terrible day... Would definitely come back :) 4.5 stars
Suri M Noh
I had the sweet potato gnocchi and my partner had the slow roasted lamb shoulder and they were both amazing! Service was prompt and friendly! They even manages to sit us even though they were full.
Love Eating Out
Great night out!<br/>We booked a table for 7 on a Saturday night.  Loved the atmosphere and the staff were exceptionally good - very helpful.  The meals were all delicious  - in particular the chilli mussels and the garlic prawns.  Most of had dessert too and they were divine.  Only downside was it was a little noisy, but I guess that is testimony to its popularity.  Will definitely return - would be lovely to sit outside on a warm summers night.

Food is pretty damn good here. I always order the eggplant parmigiana or seafood risotto both amazing ! Best eggplant parmigiana in Perth hands down! Chips are extra crispy, service is always good. Parking is hell but worth it.

Came with a voucher for 4 breakfast meals and drinks. Stood at the front waiting for someone to come seat us, but ignored by waitress and left standing for about 5 minutes before she even looked at us to say she would be a minute This whole time she was going back and forth serving food to other tables then going back and arguing with the barista about the customer sending the drink back. It wouldn’t have been hard to just tell us to sit anywhere and help ourselves to the menus instead of ignoring us. <br/><br/>3 people ordered the “no toast please”<br/>which was basically an eggs benedict but with potato hash instead of toast. i got the trio of mushrooms on toast. we asked for our eggs to be made really runny and bacon to be extra crispy. neither of those happened. food tasted fine but nothing special. <br/><br/>1 person ordered a skinny flat white (because they get a bad stomach from full cream) and 1 an extra hot flat white. when that waitress served it she just said 2 flat whites and when asked which was the skinny and which was the extra hot, she just said oh this one feels hotter so it should be that one and left us with them.<br/><br/>definitely not returning!<br/>
I Make Friends With Salad
I wish I could give this a 3.5... it's not quite a 4. I wanted this to be really tasty, and it was good but nothing that made me want to come back (though I tried it a second time to make sure). The roast veg cannelloni was not to my taste (despite the truffle oil), and I found the gnocchi a bit much to have alone, definitely needed a side. My fellow meat eaters were similarly satisfied but not blown away.
Amber
Busy for a reason! Came here on a Saturday night without a booking (our mistake!) and had a quick 20 minute wait for a free table (plenty of places to go for a drink while waiting). We were then seated, and the staff were attentive and fast. The food was delicious and good quality, the service was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was lively and non pretentious. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area to go down and check it out. Can't wait to go back!

OK the food here is fantastic, not question about that. The sweet potato gnocchi is a unique dish I haven come across before that was divine. Even the arancini, which is a fairly standard Italian restaurant entree dish, was delicious because it was actually full with potato rather than rice.<br/>It's extremely popular, huge place yet every table is fool, so book!<br/>The staff are friendly but our only complaint is when they bring out the mains. We specifically asked for the mains to come out when we had finished the entrees but nope, we were still 2/3rds of the way through the entrees when the mains came out, with nowhere to actually put them on the table. This has happened a few times to my dining partner, at this restaurant. This is a pet hate of mine.<br/>So take note, order your mains once you are sure that you are ready for them to come out.

I told my family how good this place is after eating here several times and when they joined me tonight, I was embarrassed I'd recommended the place.<br/><br/>Service: To start things off the service was so unprofessional, my booking wasn't even recorded and the young girl just who barely acknowledged us greeted 6 of us by saying 'Yes'<br/><br/>When we ordered drinks, the bottles of soft drink arrived, were just put in the corner of the table with the screw lids still fastened and two straws put on the table next to them.  The waitress then walked away.<br/><br/>The food: My Lasagna was great but needed seasoning, the kids pizza was great, but my mum's Oglio Olio was dry and tasted terrible. My wife's Lamb rack was small, bloody and flavorless and my dad's Spaghetti Ragu was also flavorless and served luke warm. <br/><br/>No-one asked us how our meals were, not even when paying. No-one seemed to care, so nor do I.<br/><br/>It's a shame, this place used to be really good.<br/><br/>I won't return.

This evening I ordered 3 takeaway pizza's from their takeaway menu which stated the pickup prices.<br/><br/>When I went to pick up the pizzas I was advised that there is an additional 15% surcharge because it was a public holiday.<br/><br/>I stated that there was no notification of any surcharge on their takeawy menu and the person taking the orders over the phone did not mention any additional charges therefore the restaurant is falsely charging customers and in fact in breach of the Fair Trading Act.<br/><br/>When I complained I was advised that there are signs as you come into the restaurant advising that the surcharge is applicable to which I replied they were a bit difficult to see when you are phoning in orders.<br/><br/>Their attitude and response was poor.<br/><br/>There are a lot of good pizza restaurants in Frematle/South Fremantle so try them rather than Ruocco's.

Spent 15 mins perusing the pizza images on Ruocco’s own website, settled on the pollo, I’ve had it before, delicious. Called to order...disaster...they no longer make this pizza. It’s ok, stay calm I told myself (I’m 7months pregnant, this is an actual DISASTER). I’ll have the Gorgonzola chicken...nope...that’s gone too. I’m in full panic mode now. I’m told the chicken Gorgonzola pistachio fig paste from the new pizza menu (published only on Facebook) is great, I’m starving and desperate...great I’ll take one of those. Hubby brings it home, I throw open the box...it’s not cut. Who doesn’t slice the pizza? Bland, I thought they had forgotten the sauce, they hadn’t, it was there, barley. The pistachios were just weird, didn’t taste the chicken, no seasoning. Terrible. When the tears come streaming down your face...cause you loose something you can’t replace...RIP pollo pizza.

Wow wow Ruocco's. Amazing!<br/><br/>1st 5 stars in a long time and the lingering mouth watering tasting food still plays on the mind.<br/><br/>Went there during their dinner service and it was unusually quiet. Was greeted by their excellent wait staff and was promptly seated. Service was excellent with everyone and attentive when needed.<br/><br/>We ordered by the buckets for 3 of us and we couldn't be more satisfied. The carbonara was so creamy and tasty that you really didn't need any more parmesan, it was smooth as butter and boy was it good. The lasagne was monstrously large!!!! wow, it is moist and soft and it melted in your mouth good, This is excellent stuff here! the rib eye, was also huge!!!!! it was cooked to perfection here. We wanted medium rare, we got medium rare. Pizza (all meat) was excellent. Crust is too perfection, thin but crispy. Toppings used were generous and feels fresh. Taste was great!<br/><br/>Desert was the only one I can fault here, whilst it was good, have to admit I had better tiramisu as well as creme brule elsewhere, don't get me wrong, it's still good, just not the greatest.<br/><br/>To summarise right, This is one place where there is no pretense, food is cheap, good and large. Wait staff are excellent, service is great and it's a dream find in the heart of freo. Bloody brilliant Ruocco. My tastebuds is still dancing from last night! wow!

Really disappointed in our experience with Ruocco's Pizzeria. Had heard good reviews. We went and waited a while to be seated, meanwhile, numerous waitresses passed us and looked at us. Finally we were seated and were given menus. The waitress wasn't too happy to be working obviously as she was unfriendly, however, we put that aside as everyone has off nights. She didn't come back for quite some time. When we ordered, we wanted the gnocchi however, one person in our group cannot have anything goat related as it makes them violently ill. It is served with goats cheese and we told the waitress we couldn't have it and explained the reason why and they suggested plain feta instead. We were more than happy with that option and thankful for her recommendation. We waited a while for the food to come and when it did, after one bite, we realised that the cheese wasn't regular feta. We asked the waitress to come back as by this stage, our guest was feeling quite ill. We explained that we thought that perhaps they put goats cheese on by mistake despite being told as it was definitely goat something! She rudely took it to the kitchen and sent back another waitress who confirmed it was feta, but made by goats milk! We told the original waitress that and yet it was put on anyways. The second waitress was incredibly rude and demeaning. She came back with a menu and said she would send someone out in a minute to grab a replacement order, however, that waitress never came. So after 20 minutes of waiting, we decided to leave and in the end, 3 people ended up sharing a meal and one went hungry and was violently ill. When we went to pay, the waitress explained she took the gnocchi off our bill, generous of her considering only one bite was taken from it before it was sent back. And when we explained to her how horrible the night was going, no care was given. We understand that people can have off nights, however, the service was horrible and when an error is made, an apology and a bit of kindness would have gone a long way. Sad because we were visiting a family member and were only in Fremantle for a few nights and it really affected one of our guests. To top it off, the chair one of us was sitting in, was covered in grease (perhaps a young child sat there and played arts and crafts with the back of the seat) and a jacket was ruined because of this. Will not be returning. The decor was ok, but incredibly loud inside, outside was better. The meal that was shared was nice, however everything else let it down greatly.

Yummy! Loved it. The base was just amazing. Worth the travel all the to Freo. And the place is so nice and loved the ambience where u go and chill with ur mates or even with family.
Helen
Great lunch here today. Big menu with range of appetisers, pastas, pizzas, fish, meat and vegetarian dishes. The chef veganised the eggplant parmigiana for me. Massive serving of eggplant with perfect fries and a salad which was more than just a side salad. It was a huge serving and well worth the $27. Friendly service too.
Linda
I love this restaurant the food is great. Tonight we had the tuna salad ( Devine) the stuffed chicken breast with polenta mash. Yum. Good drink menu. Downside Garlic bread here is average. But the noise/ acoustics inside the restaurant is really really terrible. Worst I've been to. We sat near the kitchen service area and I was ready to rip the the bell out of the chefs hand and throw it. So Sit outside if you can. It's also rather grotty, specially the toilet area. Needs a serious scrub and paint. Very tired. Think it is overall a bit expensive. But we are local do still go back a fair bit. Recommend your book ahead.
Sarah Joy
The food was good. Portion sizes are good for sharing so definitely bring your clan! <br/>Was a little disappointed that we found someones hair in the meatball sauce and when confronted the waitress apologised on behave of the kitchen but insisted it wasn't from the kitchen and glanced at everyone with a I'm sure its from someone on the table. Not impressed

Excellent service - the waitress was so sweet and friendly, even had our photos taken by her. Would get checked up every now and then.<br/><br/>The quality of the food - oh my gosh, where do I start? For entrees we had the pita bread with dips, which was pretty good. The seasoning was really good, with the herbs and cheese flavour coming through. The pasta dishes were all really good as well. The seasoning was just right, with a light and clean feel to it. The risotto wasn't the best I had but definitely was up to par. <br/><br/>Overall this place has been known to serve top quality Italian food, so you can't go too wrong. Would defo come again to try other dishes!
DforDee
Nice Italian restaurant. Be sure to bring lots of friends as portion sizes are big and you would want to try a bit of everything on the menu! 🤗

Delicious comfort food served on a wet gloomy day...perfect way to end our evening. Very generous serves and attentive wait staff which made it a lovely dining experience.

Has been a favourite of my room-mates, and it’s been a long time since I visited here. It was too hard to walk past the inviting sunny verandah. The friendly waitress came and brought me the menu immediately as well as tap water. I went with the lunch special of grilled octopus salad with beetroot, green leaves, and passionfruit, and Pinot Grigio. Drinks and food arrived quickly despite the place being very busy. The octopus salad was fresh, and loved the combination of sweetness of the passion fruit, earthy beetroot and grilled flavours from the octopus. With friendly, attentive service, excellent food and wine, it is not surprise that this is a popular Italian restaurant. I will come back soon, to enjoy the sunny veranda.

Fantastic! Have been craving a good Italian meal for awhile now. We had pizza, osso buco and sticky date pudding and it was all to die for, nothing pretentious, everything perfectly executed. Huge serving sizes, you get what you pay for!

This is a family friendly restaurant that many people have fond memories with growing up, including myself. They always do super pizza and fantastic other meals .

The penne carbonara from here is AMAZING. have never had such good carbonara. Pizza is pretty good as well. Staff are a bit quiet, don't speak much to you.
Food Food
went here with family, very big menu! food seemed OK, but a little overpriced. I ordered chilli mussels, but I was disappointed by the sauce. was expecting a spicy tomato sauce, but it wasn't very hot and was just an oily wine sauce. overall the atmosphere was quite nice but wasn't impressed with how long we had to wait for our mains. an average place.
Sandhya1814
What i love abt this place: pizzas, pastas and creme brulee. The pizza takes the spotlight! Something you cannot miss! <br/>Pastas: chicken, potato, cauliflower pasta was so inviting <br/>I am a dessert person and if you are like me, straight grab the brulee (i couldnt take a photo as it straight went into my tummy) <br/>My friend is a brownie girl, sadly we were disappointed with it as it wasnt moist. <br/>As for drinks, My friend had her cappuccino which pleased her while i had a mocha that was watery. <br/>The service staffs were really nice and the ambience gave the whole positive experience.
Danica
Ordered the Sicialana pizza and meatballs (take away) <br/>Order was ready on time (15mins) for pick up. <br/>Pizza had good flavour but hardly had any toppings.<br/><br/>Meatballs were average flavour and small in size, expected more than 4 for $13.

I'm new to Fremantle and the first spot I went to dinner was Rucco's down the road. Loved this place. Highly recommend the rocket salad for a summers evening, with melon, rocket, prosciutto. Pizza's were great, my step mom loved the margarita pizza. For dessert the tiramisu was the perfect way to end the evening, quite a large portion so perfect for sharing. Looking forward to many great meals here :)
Ruby
Little Italian gem in South Fremantle!<br/><br/>I have been here several time and all been good experiences. My favourite is the soup of the day (sooo good during winter) and chicken pasta. Their pastas are very fresh and tasty. <br/><br/>Decor is creative with paintings of Italy all over the walls. Their desserts especially the tiramisu is a must try. <br/><br/>The restaurant is a little pricey but well worth it.
Andrewrd1970
busy, busy, big family italian restaurant that you only get in Perth, the menus are the same in all of them. i should know i used to work in one, what seems like a lifetime ago. all you need is clean tables, prompt service, chefs with attitude on the bell, well behaved kids... you can get a pizza half/half, worth coming here just for that. right on point, superb
LittleGirlBigFood
Great great great pasta. I had spaghetti vongole which is my fave by far and it was spesh. Yum times. I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed the tiramisu also 👌
Peter C
If you are after old style Italian meal then give this place a go. There is nothing fancy about it. Decent amount of food for the price. Bit too loud and staff could do with bot more training otherwise a pleasant casual experience.
Sinkas
Dont know why I havent been here for so long, Maybe 10 years.<br/>Pizza was excellent, they now have good beer selection, including draught, desserts also tasty, wait staff were really helpful.<br/>Will be back in a month
Belinda
Fantastic Italian, wonderful service, atmosphere was buzzing at 6 at night. We had 2x garlic bread 2x wine 3 cool drinks 1 pizza and 2 pastas for 2 adults and 3 children $106 it was amazing! Best Italian I've had Hans down.
Truth Be Told Australia
This was our first time here, dined here last Saturday with a group of four. We have past this place loads of time's and have notice the people and now we understand why. Service was spot on, very friendly and happy to accommodate the customers needs. We opted to sit outside and we were pleased as inside is pretty noisy. We started with the White anchovy's crumbed and Chilli Garlic prawns. Both dishes were cooked really well and very tasty. For Mains we had the Seafood Platter which was huge and priced very cheap, really worth its value and good quality products right down to the chips being really crispy and lovely. The other mains were Rib Eye steak and also a veal Marsala, all guest were really happy. We are really keen to try the pizza's and other items and take our kids to this one. The Menu is huge and if you cant find something on this one to please everyone you must be too fussy ...

Ruoccos has been a long time favorite of ours. Until Sunday. We drove up from Mandurah as we often do, but this time the food was disappointing. My par5tber bought the tuna insalata as per usual but the salad was far from fresh and quite bare compared to previous offerings. Hopefully they will find their mojo of old because at the moment it is sadly lacking. Besides this my meal was forgotten for 15 mins after my partners meal was served.
Tp
If I could give a negative number rating I would. We ordered $150 worth of takeaway which included gnocchi, 3 pizzas, parmigiana, and seafood. <br/>The gnocchi was almost raw, the seafood was supposed to be flour dusted but was deep fried in old Burnt batter, the parmigiana was burnt and the pork was rubbery and had a foul texture, the pizzas were soggy, undercooked thrown together and looked like something my 3 year old constructed.<br/>So extremely disappointed.

I have to admit, I was sceptical about going to Ruccos as I hate stodgy overpriced Italian food. But on dining at Ruccos I was absolutely blown away. The food was incredible and it was also modern! I had the most divine seared tuna salad, with fresh fruit and feta cheese. It was incredible! The portion sizes are huge, and the food is top quality. I am really impressed Ruccos :)
Freo Food Girl
Seems to be during the week is when the 'good' chef works, as food is usually much superior to that during weekend. Carne lasagna is always a favourite - although sometimes we have experienced burnt/dry/tough pasta layers. Parmigiana is sometimes good sometimes very underwhelming and tough. Overall good for takeaway even if it is expensive.
Haggismuncher
Afternoon antipasto platter and grilled calamari. Delicious! Nice bottle of SBS (Knee deep) and a wonderful marshmallow creme brûlée. Great spot and reasonably priced. Take away pizza always good too. Can't go wrong!
Julysamurai
went for an early dinner for two on Friday night without a reservation. Although we got a table, the place was already busy with full of regulars. With my experience of living in Italy for some time, I rate their food quite high but their service can be a lot better as young waiters are not well trained, leaving customers unattended for longer than should be. Their basic plastic school classroom like chairs take something away from the overall dining experience.
Michael Thompson
Long time favourite of mine, havent really explored the menu as I can never go past the house special pizza, a few simple ingredients on a fresh pizza base in a wood fired oven, delicious!
Sara McFlurry
Went for a dinner for two on a Saturday night. The place was absolutely packed out, and I can see why. Service was fast and food was delicious. Had the Tonys Special pizza which was amazing. Would have liked more sauce but that's just me. The base was amazing. Will go again.

Amazing amazing amazing!! <br/><br/>I have not been to Ruocco's since I was a little kid and when I went last night nothing had changed. It was still filled with big, smiling and laughing families just like I remembered.<br/><br/>And as for the food, it was still as beautiful as ever. After searching through the 5-page menu, I decided on the gnocchi ragu. Which was a hard choice because I wanted to eat everything :) <br/>It was the BEST gnocchi I have ever had, cooked to perfection and filled with flavour.<br/><br/>I'm glad that the place has not changed and I will gladly be coming more often!! <br/>

There alot to like about Ruocco's. Always tastes very fresh, especially the fish. Place always smells amazing. te seafood platters are huge, like the platter for one could feed 2. Love the steaks. And of course the Pizzas! been my favorite Pizza in WA for years.

An old faithful in our family. My Nonno lived around the corner. If you're after simple Italian food then you have found the right place. Looking for pretentious intimate dining with an overpriced twist on Italian cuisine - go elsewhere. Great pizza!!!

DO NOT go to Ruocco's if you want to have a conversation.  We dined there on Saturday night; had a 7.30pm booking and specifically asked to be seated in a less noisy section of the restaurant as we knew it would be loud being a Saturday night and I was advised of this at time of booking.  Our table of 6 was put in an area where two large groups were celebrating birthdays.  Consequently we couldn't hear one another speaking and decided to just have our meal and leave.  The food at Ruocco's is excellent but it is unfortunate it's so loud.

The food is authentic Italian, nothing out of the ordinary, but nice food all the same. Just be prepared to wait for it to come to the table. Twice we have eaten at Rucocos and both times we have waited nearly two hours for our meal to arrive. Very disappointed and we certainly won't be giving it a third try!!
Jessica Donovan
Always happy with the food here. Made fresh with great ingredients. Can be a bit noisy inside and because of its good value, it can be filled with lots of families.
FreoJodes
Disgusting <br/>Soggy pizza with raw onion and tomato on top and other pizza had prawns that are imported - in a seafood state! We threw away 70% of it.
Amy
Great family restaurant with AMAZING food!!Went with the family (11 of us) and everyone was very pleased with their meal. Can't wait to go back!

Ruocco's offers a complete Italian experience, dedicated to keeping the old methods and mildly touching the new. I went into the world of pasta and although the pasta seemed lacking in spice factor, it delivered in taste. A very family oriented venue offers many options for all different tastebuds, and if you're in the mood for some classic Italian this is the place in Fremantle to go to.
Trudi
We love this place. Everything we have ordered has been delicious with generous servings. So consistent too. BYO wine & reasonably priced food. Woodfired pizza, home made pasta, good service. A win for Freo!
Sue
What a lucky find. Loved everything about the place. Best homemade pasta dishes we've had for too long. Staff, excellent, prices great. Gnocchi, amazing. Thank you, we'll definitely be back, even if it's an hours drive to get there.

Lovely as usual food was fresh and and hot Flavour Was delicious and prices are pre boom low worth a visit. Paid $30 for Cakage and corkage which was a bit excessive but I couldn't fault the food it was awesome.

First time there and sat outside - lovely. Fantastic chilli mussels but I would prefer crusty bread than pizza dough bread sticks (only two sticks served with it!). Tuna salad was heavenly - perfectly cooked and seasoned. The seafood plate was ok, but not great. One bad clam ruined the dish. Casual but friendly service from wait staff. I'll go back.
KOKO
Hit and miss, although never truly bad. Would love to know when the 'good' chef is working as when it's good it's very good. Usually always order tomato based pasta dishes so not sure about the rest.

We have found our new favourite restaurant in Perth & it is going to take a lifetime to sample the wide range on the menu! We enjoyed the seafood platter for two and it took us back to memories of holidays in Europe. Grilled to perfection and flavoursome the seafood was delicious served together with a crisp fresh salad and chips it was faultless. Also enjoyed a freshly squeezed orange, apple, carrot & celery juice which was icey cold. Wish we had room to sample the desserts but will have to save that for next time!

Soo happy we came here! Atmosphere was great, food was delicious and staff were fantastic! I could be as fussy as I wanted with the menu and nothing was too hard! Soo good! Will def go back!

The American and I were in the Fremantle area today renewing our First Aid certificate, ready for the completion of our PT course at the end of the month. Seeing as we had a long day of learning and that we were right in the middle of Freo AKA a foodies dream, we decided to treat ourselves to an early dinner. Although we were spoilt by choice, we wanted something close by and relatively casual, as we weren’t dressed for anything flash! After driving along South Terrace, a quaint Italian restaurant by the name of “Ruocco’s” caught our eye. The corner restaurant was lined with small tables and chairs which were filled with people enjoying a glass of vino and sharing pizzas in what was left of the afternoon sun.

Great pizza with reasonable prices<br/>Great atmosphere that is comfortable, homely and authentic.<br/>Great service with the friendliest waitresses around.<br/>Without a doubt the best pizza we've had in Perth <br/>We will definitely be going back again soon

We live in south fremantle and this is our favourite local restaurant. The food is reliably fresh/delicious making this easily our favourite Italian restaurant in Perth! The staff are friendly and very accomodating to families with kids. Yes it gets busy and during those times (like any other place) you might have to wait a bit longer - but its only because the place is so popular. Happily recommend this to all friends and family and never heard one bad report!
Katherine
I ordered take away pasta and garlic bread, they told me 25 minutes over the phone.. 50 minutes and still waiting.... Have some respect for people's time. Terrible service. Will never come here again.

We initially were looking forward to trying this place. Both my husband and brother came here for the first time. I ordered the Spaghetti Vongole which was ok although lacked in flavour although portion was great. Hubby had the gnocchi gorgonzola which was too overpowering with no hint of truffle oil. Pizza was probably the best thing ordered. The thing which really disappointed was the wait time. We waited for 45 minutes until food arrived as we watched tables who had arrived after us recieve their dishes. For a restaurant with so much staff which were not busy, they really needed to pull their socks up. Overall experience was disappointing.

Great takeaway pizza. Best in South Freo and we have tried them all. Delicious dough and perfect percentage of toppings! We have thrown out the other take away pizza menus in the area we are that confident

Have been coming here on and off for the last 7 years prob once or twice a year. However my last few visits have seem to impress me more and more. The staff are great! Casey our waitress was so friendly and helpful and great fun. Our meal was sensational I had the crayfish with and aribiata pasta and my partner had the spaghetti marinara my crayfish was $28 however I would have happily paid $100 for it. We will be back again and it will be defiantly be more then twice a year maybe even this weekend. Thanks to the chef raj, Casey and the staff at rouccos!

Recommend by a friend who said the seafood pizza was awesome and he was 100% correct a great pizza and a good price as well so a win win...
Bartonicus
Bartonicus. Have lived in the area for more years than I care to remember and never been to this restaurant before. The only reason we went there this time was because a meal for four through Scoopon was only $40....and what a surprise! It was Thursday night and the place was pumping with all tables inside and out booked out completely with hordes of other people popping in and out taking Pizza home. We all agreed it was a really good meal with generous portions and the atmosphere was excellent. We topped up the meal with a Greek salad which was delicious and coffees which were superb. We were there for over two hours and received nothing but good service.....top marks

Really loved the food, very reasonable price and our Canadian waitress was an absolute sweetheart.<br/><br/>Only gripes are the rather uncomfortable plastic chairs, an upgrade to nicer tables and chairs would make this place fabulous.
Semklm7579
Extremely poor service. We visited for dinner and we booked for 6pm.....we arrived and was seated and thats where it went bad....the waitress dropped a drinks menu after having to ask for one....then we were left there forgotten about until after about 30 mins and others getting service we got up and walked out....<br/>will never go back there again.

Good food, friendly service, very noisy.. We had dinner here a couple of evenings ago. The pizzas we ordered were fresh and tasty and served to us by a lovely and attentive waitress. The only gripe we had was that although the place was three quarters empty - perhaps to be expected on a week night - we, along with the other dinners were all seated in one room with one very large and loud party of 18 or so. All the lights were turned off in the other rooms so we assumed they were saving on electricity.

Ruocco's is an excellent Italian restaurant. We have been going once a week for a month now, just can't get enough.

As good as ever!. My family and I went out on Sunday night for a birthday dinner. We had a party of 9, but on that evening, there was a much larger party seated behind us (at least 25)...and the restaurant was generally busy. We were delighted to see that the menu had stayed the same through changes, but I will admit that we were a little skeptical, and worried after seeing some of the recent reviews. However, we were really impressed when the party behind us (who ordered before us) all seemed to have received their food within 5 or so minutes of the first plate coming out. We were also satisfied with our wait time, and very happy with the quality of the food we were served, as always. I would also like to point out the beautiful presentation of the dishes - which is always lovely to see, especially with such nice food. As always, we were all very satisfied with our meal at Ruocco's - one of the few genuine, family Italian restaurants left in Perth. The only things we found was disappointing in the night, was the amount of general noise in the restaurant (to be expected given our proximity to the huge party), and the less than appropriate 'casual' attitude of the staff that has become a characteristic feature of Perth in recent years.

Lovely Family Restaurant. Although initially put off by the reviews on this page my wife and young son visited Ruocco's for the first time last night. We had the lasagne, pizza, rocket pear and blue cheese salad and garlic bread. The food was tasty, fresh and came to the table very quickly despite it being a busy Saturday night. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have an extensive menu and the prices are good. It's BYO. We will definitely visit again. +1 for Ruocco's. Great job guys.

Big disappointment. We have visited Ruocco's regularly over the 7 years we have lived in Perth and it has always been our absolute favourite place to take overseas vistors. However that changed last night when we took the in-laws there (from NZ). First our booking had been put in for the wrong night but they did find a table large enough for our party of 8. However we waited 1 1/2 hours for our meals to be served and watched while around us customers who arrived after us were served. Even our drinks took ages to arrive and the food was very sub-standard compared to our past experiences. Very disappointing. I hadn't realised that it had new owners but they aren't a patch on the old ones. Big thumbs down :(

Better than the original. Despite the festive season and large numbers the food and atmosphere lived up to expectations. As a table of 6 we had a selection of pizza and pasta dishes which were fab! Our guests commented that some of the pasta dishes rivaled those found in Melbourne. Better still we could BYO with no corkage! Will be back again!
Melpartridge6
Disappointing and unapologetic. As a regular customer for over six years I felt disgusted with the way my feedback regarding there serving portions and waiter knowledge of menu items was dealt with. Without an apology, I was offered three chocolates and sent on my way. Despite experiencing the ups and downs of this restaurant over the past years this will be the end of my family and my eating here. For what you pay, one would expect better food, better wait service and after conversing with the manager, not to feel belittled and shut down. Very disappointing, not the ruoccos it once was and at this rate, will quite rapidly ruin any reputation it once had.
Stacey
Not as good as the original. Sorry ... but the pizzas aren't as good now that they've changed hands.
Trevor
New website with photos of the menu items, visit www.ruoccos.com. Best Italian food in South Fremantle. Great menu, good service. The pizzas are to die for!
Amr
Great service!. Enjoyed a meal of pasta and pizza - attentive staff and great family restaurant.

Very Ordinary. Waitresses were excellent - food ordinary; crayfish crayfish pasta dish is a ripoff. Fish overgrilled; could not eat together as time between between serving first person's main and last was 15 minutes by which time the first meals were cold. Management gave lipservice to concerns. Never going back<br/><br/>Experienced Diners

Best Pizza in Freo. Just ate here and the pizza is AMAZING. My husband had the Sicilian and I had the 'special' that is on the menu. The crust, the toppings, everything is amazing. Definitely coming back !
