Review Dosukoi Ramen In Fremantle - Fremantle

Cham Kariyawasam
One of the best and cheapest Ramen I’ve had in perth! Resturaut gets very busy and seating is limited, though seating is available inside or outside. Prices are very reasonable and On ordering get to choose if you want your meal in a takeaway bowl or dine-in bowl when you order. I only ordered one dish, miso ramen with fried chicken, selection of 6 on menu. Ramen was rich, creamy and flavorful. Noodles were perfectly cooked. Highly recommended if you are at the markets and looking for something different.

Pretty good value for the price. Soup was flavorful, chicken karaage was crispy and tasty. The batter of tempura prawns was too thick though. Still not a bad choice for a quick lunch in the markets.

Food was delicious & value for money. Service was a bit rough at first as the owner was a bit funny about customers bringing the bowls back to the restaurant if you choose to dine in. But all resolved in the end when I brought the bowls back & told him the noodles were very delicious & he finally cracked a smile under his mask.

My fav ramen place. In two weeks time, the shop will closed permanently and have a new place opened already in FOMO . I like the place a lot and offer an unique experience, a little sad that it's closing soon. Wish you for the best and definitely I'll find you in the new place.

I think dumplings was more better than mains 🤣And original chicken tasted good…but skin wasn’t crispy 😟

This morning, I tried original ramen with salted Tonkotsu broth. It was creamier and smoother. Very nice though. I paid $8.30 per bowl. The cheapest value for money ramen I have had so far. (2021-06) Thanks to the review by others on the issue of take out order. I specified to have separate packing for noodles and soup. Terry told when the separate noodle is cooked before leaving the shop, it will loose its tenderness and it will be soggy by the time I got home. He suggested that the given raw noodles be boiled for 3 minutes before adding to a pre-boiled ramen soup. Well, all tasted good after I boiled them up at home. Haha, Sayonara mate.(2021-04-23) Google translated 'Dosukoi' as 'Sumo exclamation'. Oh, really kah! After eating the ramen, sumo says :Haaaiii! so good, boss! get me another 10 bowls!'. Haha, surely taste good. Yes, one of the most popular ramen in Perth. Terry, the boss, has just revealed a new Dosukoi restaurant will be opened soon in a few months somewhere near the multistories car park.(2021-04-09)

A Japanese ramen restaurant in Freo market! If you feel like some authentic Japanese ramen and like you wanna know what its like to be in a local Japanese ramen place, make sure you give it a visit!🍜🍤🥟

Absolutely phenomenal ramen, great taste, quality at amazing prices. My family and I love the food here and everyone I know who I've brought here all love it too. Definitely would recommend if you haven't tried it before. They also have another outlet nearby called Komatsu, that offers equally good food for the same prices!
Leonard Tang
The ramen is so good! Karage chicken OMG to die for big portion for the price.

Frequent visitor every week for breakfast. Can't get enough. Super friendly staff as well. :)

Missing the vibes around Dosukoi and Fremantle Markets

Prawn dumpling Ramen was awesome

Not too bad. Pork should be thicker for my liking, but still ok

Best ramen in town

It was highly recommended by my friend. I tried. The food is good. I had ordered two bowl of noodles; Spicy Soup Ramen, No 3 and Ramen with Fried Chicken, No 6. I had few bad experices with their services during my visit.. 1. I requested for 4 person seats and wanted to sit at the outside but the lady (i think the manager or the owner because she is the one that take order and collection of payment) told me unfortunately they dont have 4 person seats for me. Probably very popular with tourist. But i realised that its not the case. They just dont prefer 4 person sharing two bowl. Maybe we are not suppose to order 2. Then i said is alright. Whatever seat given to me will be fine to me. 2. Then I found out that the spicy ramen noodle cost me AUD 9.90 same price as the Fried Chicken Ramen (5 pieces), it only came with just ONLY ramen. Then I asked the lady, she gave me very unhappy face reaction. She replied, "yea it comes with ONE piece of pork!". But I don't feel it is the way to react to me & forgotten that piece of ramen showed that not right, give me unhappy face reaction and didnt even say sorry is totally unacceptable. Finally they gave me 1mm thick slick of pork. Huh!!!. Better order the fried chicken ramen because it cost you the same. VERY PRECIOUS FOR THAT SLICE PORK. Unfortunately that piece of pork is not tasty at all. 3. We had friends, who we recommended them to try, they also ordered another 3 bowls ramen and they shifted the table towards the shop because its under hot sun. The lady came out with furious face and said, "who moved the table? Unfortunately you cant move the table". We said sorry but she still showed the furious face to my friends. 4. My Friend asked for small bowls so can try all the different flavours. But the same lady gave us the answer "we have NO more bowls for u". 5. I did asked to seperate the fried chicken from the ramen soup because i prefer to enjoy chrispy fried chicken. The same lady replied me with one word... NO!. I think she can reply me in better way. Anyway that is her style. I think u can get better food and services else where. In fact i had better treatment from the coffee shop next to this ramen shop. At last the food and services doesnt worth for you to try at all. No more next time and i will revert this to my friend who recommended.

All three ramens made by Japanese staffs were good, staffs are friendly as well. I would like to recommend to give a try to the authentic Japanese ramen bar. It will not let you disappointment! Will come back when I visit Perth again!

Not sure about this one. Was told one of the first ramen places in WA. Simple yet good ramen. A tad salty. Ramen was good texture but seemed like the instant type. Still nice tho. A bit out of the way so won’t be coming back so soon.

One of the best ramen shops in Perth! Eventhough it’s pretty far away from my house. But I still come here everytime I crave for a bowl of ramen goodness! Be aware of a long queue and superntiny space. Better be here early to avoid the queue. I always have to wait from 40-90 minutes during weekend.
Ed
Ordered #4 on the menu with an extra serving of fried chicken.
I prefer my ramen soup to be thick tonkotsu style which unfortunately it is not in this shop. The soup is very salty and peppery as well. The noodle itself is fine and the chasiu is not bad.
I think the hype of this joint is unwarranted. It's a decent ramen but definitely not the best.
Gerardo Mante
Great ramen house, very affordable, My only complaint is the small space.. If you love Ramen then this place is a must stop, but be prepared to wait though
Ricky Emilius
Came here specifically for the ramen as I heard from many that the ramen here is amazing and boy they were right. Spot on with the flavour on miso ramen, good amount of pork and the ramen's consistency is just perfect, not too soft.
My girl had the tempura udon which tasted just as authentic, the soup was great, could do with bigger shrimp and fried veggies though. Generous portions and very well priced.
The way the place is set up feels like a real ramen stall/place with the business of the market and all. Eating experience is not the best as you have to share tables, if you're not used to it you may not enjoy it. Waiting line may take an hour or two, but the food will be served almost immediately after you sit down.

If you like ramen you will come back for more but dont expect a cozy eating experience. Bring friends so that you dont feel awkward sitting around strangers.

Given the number of ramen store popping up in this beautiful city of WA, it means a lot to still tate this classic and original ramen stall in Freo: Dosukoi remains me and my wife favorite ramen in WA! Simple and small store in the market with efficient ticket system and quick turnover allow you to not have wait too long. My favorte is the karage ramen (you can choose the flavor of the broth, mine is the miso). Why is it 5 star? It taste amazing, thick and rich broth, juicy chicken, cheap price, decent size (for the price)!
Leslie Yapi
Love the takoyaki.

Ramen is also great. Especially the cashiu and the karage. Dont forget to ask to seperate the karage so it does not become soggy.

But place is always busy. You have to line up especially on sunday. Come Friday to avaid wait time.
Hippokathy88
Having been opened since 2007, Dosukoi Ramen has gotta be the oldest ramen shop in Perth right 🍜👴? It is a tiny space, the inside can seat around 8-10 diners so if you can't get a stool straight away, leave your name and number and you'll be contacted when ready. I came around 2.30pm on a Friday arvo and the wait was less than 10mins.

I opted for the original version with miso flavouring and I could see why the brand had made its mark. The soup was light, perfectly seasoned and had a rustic taste. It'd never be the most intense or rich broth you'd ever have but there was a homely feel, with the sweet undertone developing more pleasantly after each spoonful. Garlic oil was a welcoming addition as it made the flavour more complex. The thin chashu slice was a bit of a tease but just enough to make you want more.

Cheapest ramen in Perth? No.
Best ramen in Perth? Also no.
Would I come back? Without a doubt!

Dosukoi is like an under-appreciated home, nothing is fancy but everything is from the heart.
Catherine
Had the miso based soft pork ramen and Takoyaki as a side, was so damn good! Definitely a place to try ! Barely any seating though so get in early as it’s a stall in the market (we got in around 10:30am on a Saturday, didn’t have to wait)
Bytemyshinymetalass
Excellent ramen. I love a place that doesn't have an English signboard and when everyone who works there has a thick Japanese accent then, you can be rest assured that it's going to be an authentic experience. We'll be back. 😁
MiTandean
One of my favourite places to eat in Freo. This place is always packed so i usually just take away and eat at work. The Ramen is one of the best anywhere in Perth and its cheap @ $9.90. But best of all is their consistency. Its always great tasting and it never fails to put a smile on my face everytime i eat it.
DforDee
Great noodle broth. I enjoyed everything about the fried chicken miso based soup except for the noodles. They tasted like mass produced factory made ones.
Logan Jordan
I have had ramen in many places and I tried this place simply because of the reviews. While I am not disappointed with their ramen (I had the one with fresh leeks) I did not think it deserves more than a 3 star. It's average at best. The soup base lacked that umami taste that you should get when you have a really good ramen, one that makes you slurp it fast. I do like the simplicity of their menu, though, and the organised way of getting customers seated down (they give you a text message when your food is ready). However because I did not fully enjoy their ramen I don't think I'd be back.
Ray
Best ramen in Perth!!!! So authentic and the soy based and miso ramen with pork is so good I also like the karage chicken ramen this place is the best in the west and so affordable you have to try if you love ramen like me :)
C
This place serves delicious and authentic ramen at affordable prices. I ordered the soy based ramen with prawn dumplings ($9.90). The broth was rich, noodles were springy and perfectly cooked and dumplings were crispy. Shame the ramen didn't come with an egg. Service was fast and I will be definitely returning!
More Than Nourishment
This place is always so busy and I'm not surprised why. It is definitely worth the wait. We travel 30mins just to get ramen from here. The soy ramen with the prawn dumplings is my favourite. The dumplings is so crispy and the broth is piping hot. Best ramen in Perth!
Little Epicurean
Tasty & cheap ramen. Its a small venue & a busy one at that, we waited 30mins for our meals but i like the fact that u can order, go do your groceries & they'll give you a txt when your meals are ready. Street food like its meant to be...
Rachel Tay
Been here twice, first time take away and Unfortunately it was given to us in one bowl with th ramen and broth together so by the time we ate it, the noodles must have soaked up quite a bit of the broth, making it a little overcooked and soggy. Still enjoyed the flavours but I don't think we experienced the best of their ramen. Would recommend their noodles and broth separated for take away?

Second time decided to dine in for a more accurate review, and it was much better. Great flavours, very reasonable prices and a portion just enough so I could actually finish it!
Casey
Delicious and cheap noodles! I visited here for dinner with my partner and he really enjoyed the ramen with crispy chicken. I had the udon and it was hot and tasty.
Mr Robot
Dosukoi is probably my favourite ramen place! Tucked into a very small and cosy "open kitchen" abode, Dosukoi certainly emits an authentic Japanese vibe. Being quite a popular place, finding seating during the opening hours is like finding a golden ticket, however I definitely ensure you it is worth the wait. The broth his deep and rich in flavour as it is in colour, and as you slurp the bright yellow egg noodles, you will quickly find that finishing a bowl of Dosukoi's ramen was easy and very satisfying. I have been back on several occasions, and will continue to in the future!
Lady X
Spicy leek ramen and Japanese original ramen both soy based. I must say it's the best so far I've had in Perth! Had to wait half an hour for it but it's worth the wait. Can't wait to go back to try the shio base soup and the soba and udon!

Nov 2017: Came and tried the miso broth ramen both original and kaarage ramen. Both were delicious and surprisingly the wait was not long even though it was 1 pm on Saturday
Jessie Khoo
The must-visit place whenever I go to Fremantle. One of the best ramen in Perth! Very tasty, appropriate portion of noodles, good for value. The best part of all, the ramen costs less than 10 dollars!! Staffs/Owner are originally from Japan, friendly and helpful. The shop is small therefore if visit during peak hours might need to wait for 15-20mins.
Yuni Saidah Kartono
Definitely my favourite place to eat ramen 💕💕
Been their regular customer for almost 4 years and I still think that Dosukoi serves the best ramen in perth.
The broth is to die for 😱
Plus, I wouldn't mind waiting for 1.5hrs to get the seat.
Some Like It Hot
Love this place, cheap, efficient, friendly and tasty. I love the ramen with soy base with prawn dumplings on top which is less than $10. The venue is tiny but that adds to the charm. Have been several times.
Passionate Foodies
This place is very unassuming and it was packed with customers. We ordered their pork ramen which is one of their best sellers according to the waitstaff. The broth is devine and the texture of the noodle is really good. Overall the dish is very authentic and delicious. Needless to say we emptied the entire bowl in no time.
Reynaldo
I found my new favourite dish on my 2nd visit. The spicy leek ramen is really good, especially with miso base. The miso flavour is strong but not overpowering the ramen. The spicy leek add a distinct texture and spicyness.

The fried chicken was also good and was served promptly. so if you are too hungry to wait for the ramen, my suggestion is to order this first.
Jessica Wirawan
One of the best ramen in perth.

I really like the texture of the noodle and also the broth which were very tasty. The staff was very friendly too.

The only thing that matters is maybe they should add new dishes into the menu :)
Ze Meddler
I have never had a bad ramen at Dosukoi. Whether its the Freo or city branch - it's always been good. Probably my favourite ramen joint in town. Some places you almost stop tasting the flavour of the broth after the third or fourth sip, Dosukoi's broth is the real deal. Its delicious from the first burning slurp to the last. Gouchisousama! Good eats!

Best ramen in south of the river. Very busy authentic Japanese ramen. Miso soup based, always good. Decent food with reasonable price. Friendly, fast and efficiency service.
Monmon
My favourite place of ramen. I don't mind to wait an hour just to eat our faves are their plain ramen (number 1), pork belly ramen, and spicy leek ramen. For the extra we always order an extra karaage. They have the best fried chicken (karaage). The noodle was so chewy and the soup smells so good. $9-10 for a bowl of ramen is a good price and affordable compare to $15 ramen in the food court mall.

WHEN:
Sat 16 July '16 in yhe AM

WHAT:
Menu item #5 ramen w pork slices
Fried chicken

COST:
$9.90 and $6 respectively

VERDICT:
Average toppings on average ramen. Broth was not really flavoursome - rather plain, however the pork slices were extremely salty as well as tough.

RETURNING?:
No

RECOMMEND?:
Not over Nao

Me and my bf used to be a big fan of dosukoi and we used to eat here once a week.. But the past few months, their broth quality has declined. It's so watery, bland and just not rich enough.. There is not enough pork taste.. The fried chicken is still very good though :) Value for money is good for what you get
Perth Foodaholic
Dosukoi Ramen is a tiny stall in the Fremantle markets that specialise in you guessed it – ramen. It’s a very simply shop with very limited sitting available and gets extremely busy. There is normally a bit of a wait for your food but you won’t be disappointed. They have a small menu to choose from. The broth and the ramen are delicious and tastes quite authentic. Worth a try although I wouldn’t venture all the way to Fremantle to eat here if I was not in the area. I still think that Nao Japanese in the Perth CBD is my favourite followed by Kai Japanese in Bull Creek. But this place is definitely in the top 3.

I have to say, after a long and thorough search, that to my mind this is the best ramen in Perth.

The base broth is exceptional and consistently good time after time. The noodles are just the right texture and not at all floury like that of some other recent additions to the ramen scene in Perth.

I recommend the #4 - soft pork in soy (shoyu) base with slices of delicious thinly sliced pork belly.

Get in early to avoid the queue, because this tiny stall packs out fast!
Fooodmachine
Dont come here expecting to dine in, they barely have any seating. Ramen is cheap, tasty broth and you can ask for chili flakes to be added for some spice. Very low on toppings which is disappointing, one of the aspects which makes a good ramen. Noodle cooked well and plenty of it. Would have liked the option to pay more for extra toppings

I've been wanting to get here for ages and I finally managed a weekend trek into freo to do this. I had the pork ramen and it was pretty good.. Hearty, flavorsome broth, generous noodles. Wait time was about 30 mins over a busy lunch, but we got our text after a wander through the markets. Certainly the best ramen I've had in Perth, but I'm still yet to find one here that made me almost cry with joy like a few
I've had in Japan and Singapore.
LittleGirlBigFood
Ramen lovers take note. Best you will find in Freo! Mark my word as a mate always says. Consider it marked yo.
Myself and company decided on Ramen for lunch, Saturday, 30th of Jan. Beautiful cold and stormy day, what else would we want but warm comfort food!? Coming here was a great idea, and the experience of watching a Ramen kitchen working together like clock work, just warmed me up that extra bit. My ramen was piping hot the way it should be, juicy, flavoursome and all around just really enjoyable. Great price, great portions!! The service was so friendly and all smiles. That's always great! Thankyou so much for a warming experience. We will be back! And hopefully get to sit down this time and enjoy the company :)
Sam
I've been here a couple of times and was so glad that the queue wasn't long and the place wasn't packed at 11am on a sat morning! My partner loved the ramen- but I found nao ramen to be much better. But of course, the broth was really good and fragrant. I found the noodles a bit too hard for my liking. Tako balls was worth it for its price but not fantastic. Have yet to try really good tako balls in Perth :(
Stefani Theresia Dewi
Love their takoyaki !!! One of the best ramen in town, love their shoyu ramen with karage chicken. The place is small, make sure to come early so you don't have to wait for long
Arii Mclean
Tako tako tako yummmmm, YUMMIEST RAMEN IN THE HOUSE! Yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum, delicioso
Dennis Dcold
Pretty long wait but what do you expect when the spot is popular and has maximum of 10 seats. Overall this place served very good ramen and takoyaki. Highly recommend it
Eilin Tan
Very satisfying bowl of ramen. Both spicy and non-spicy broth were wonderfully rich and robust. Noodles were springy and cooked just right. They were generous with their leeks; I wished they gave a little more of those delicious pork slices though.
5loaf2fish
You would love this place if you like a good bowl of ramen, don't might sitting with strangers in close proximity, and being cramped into a tiny shop that is so old that the walls have begun to peel.Although they do not serve the BEST BOWL of ramen, their broth is good enough to curb your ramen cravings. I do worry about their consistency because some days you get the bestest bowl of ramen, other days it might be just 'alright'. However, you can't complain much because these bowls of ramens are cheap and you can get the standard bowl of ramen for less than 10 dollars.
Asian's Taste
The place is so small and yet people are still willing to wait 20-30m for the food.
@this place we need to order the food and pay for it first. After that we can go around (shopping) and wait for the phone call.
If you get the call, it's means the table and the food are ready.
Based on the West Australian's newspaper, This place is one of the best ramen in Perth. We had miso ramen;soy ramen and fried chicken.all are delicious...
Sorry forgot to take picture of miso ramen and soy ramen..too hungry.. After waiting for the call and get a table
A Mac
This place never disappoints - miso base for the ramen is the one to choose. Love the vegetarian ramen and the ordering system too. Line up, pay, and they'll send you a text when a seat is available and your order will come out soon after. Best to come during off-peak times as the wait can be in excess of an hour at times! Remember there's a long queue after you so eat quickly and be considerate to other patrons too! I've seen customers who have finished eating but continue to sit at the tables chatting away. They were politely asked to leave soon after though!
Triple_V
Well... Honestly, what's so special about this ramen? You travel all the way down to Fremantle just for this very average ramen? Was expecting a very good one since this was our first try after six years been in Perth but neh.. Still prefer Nao ramen even though Nao is not my number one ramen because you can't get any good one yet in Perth! Price wise.. Yeh reasonable for what is served on the table.
GobbleDok
Disappointed.
We loved the ramen a few years ago but when we visited last two years, always the taste was different and no depth.
We went today and the same: no depth, stock wasn't strong enough, even noodle was served slimy.
Perth ramen culture seems getting excited recently but still not good enough. It shame Dosukoi Fremantle can't lead the culture as one of oldest ramen shops in Perth...
The frozen deep fried takoball(takoyaki) was highlight today...
Nix
Delicious and unpretentious food with friendly service. Easily one of the best places in Perth for good ramen noodles. Being a small hole-in-the-wall type restaurant, don't expect fancy decor - dine-in customers squeeze onto simple bar stools at a counter, watching the passing traffic of tourists inside the Freo Markets (only open on market days). My favourites are the Roast pork ramen and the karage chicken pieces... mmm....
Mztiff
Famous for their insanely long waits, my gf and I got there one Saturday at 11am hoping to beat the crowds. Unfortunately we were told it was still going to be a half hour wait, so we put through our orders before doing a lap or two of the markets. By the time we got back we were squeezed into a couple of seats inside where people were being told to wait for over an hour! Our meals came shortly after, I ordered the ramen with thinly sliced pork and my gf had the ramen with leeks. It was tasty and a bargain at $10, but I found the broth a bit too salty for me. I would have liked a couple of more slices of pork as well. I'm glad we didn't have to wait so long that day and I'm also glad we tried it, but I wouldn't be rushing back to Freo for it again.

Tried Dosukoi this morning at around 10am, the place was packed already. A very good sign of good food. I wandered around the market for 10mins before some seats became available. Ordered number 6 which was fried chicken ramen. The pictures on the menu board don't do justice to the food. My ramen arrived within 5mins and I quickly grabbed the cutlery from the tray at the front and had a taste of the soup/broth. I was blown away! Very flavoursome without being saltish. The noodles were springy as they soon be. The ingredients and the fried chicken pieces were great tasting. I am very impressed with this stall. Finally, a Japanese place that serves really good ramen. I slurped my way to the bottom of the bowl and if my stomach could take it, order another bowl of ramen. But sadly, that is for another day. Try it. It is well worth a visit.
Cluelesstraveller
The best ramen in Perth (on par with Nao I think). Seating space is very limited, but you don't need to queue. After they write down your name, you can basically wander around the market and they will text you when the table is ready. Smart way! I always hate having to queue for a long time. The noodle and the broth taste great. Sometimes the broth can be a little salty but still my favourite.
Laurentia Rosalina Thedorus
This is the best Ramen in Perth! My favorite is no 2 and 6.. even the place looks so tiny.if u come during peak hours especially Sat and Sunday u will have to wait 1 hr or more for u to eat and sit. I recommend u to come on Friday around 4 or 5 pm shud be good and less queue..
Helnandez
a bit salty everything else ok
noodles tasty
space too small
need sms to call back
soft pork is the best
like it everytime when going there
Hippo309
Ramen was ok, soup was flavorful, though a tad too salty for me. Tako balls were okay too, but a little small. Fried chicken was kinda salty, and place is really small. But, no frills, eat and go!
Tasteflavour
Been here a few times and always leaving with a smile on my face! Soup is really flavoursome, noodles are perfect and meat is well cooked! Fried chicken and tako balls are always my favourite to get on the side! Best ramen place ever!
James Cook
This place is very good. My uncle took me here for me to try and it did not disappoint. The place was a bit cramped but gave it a traditional japanese feel. Now on to the food. I ordered No.4 with miso base and sides of fried chicken and tako balls and all of this was very flaoursome and only cost around $20.
Lam-Vy Phan
When will i eat you again!?. For me, this is my favorite Ramen place!
I always come around 10-11am and get a seat straight away. Arrive later and you'll be in for a bit of a wait.
I order the No4. Broth is very flavorsome. The pork Hass a great flavor too. Noodles are al dante.
I also order the karage chicken and tako balls to complete my meal. I'm a happy man when i leave:))
Can't wait to eat you again.
Oh i think this place is better than their one in the city. It feels the city one is rushed.
Foodie R.
Awesome!!!. Been here many times, it's always good. Prepare to wait, but it will be definitely worth the wait.Don't forget to order their fried to go with your ramen.
The Tea Bag Ninja
Amazing noodles served by polite and friendly staff out of their dodgy little old shop at the markets. The rich dark intensely flavored broth is silky and heartwarming, coming out of big pots that line the stove at the back of the shop. It makes it all feel a bit more authentic. To all the people complaining about the wait- go early! I've never waited more than five minutes. With food this good and a tiny little kitchen you have to be there early.
Turbanspoon
Number Six. Never tried anything else. Not sure why you would, really. Just get number six and watch your life change.
Nigel
Best Ramen in Perth!. Love it! Tastes just like the one I had in south Japan! Authentic, traditional, tastes amazing and run by Japanese people.
Mayhina
The best Noodle bar in WA. -Authentic Japanese noodles
-Friendly service
-Real Japanese owned (Hard to find one in Perth)
-2 Locations
-Amazing menu
-Low Price for great food
-Great locations
-Will definetly be back

Not the real deal. I ordered the number 1 with came with one piece of lackluster seaweed, one thin slice of pork, chopped spring onions and shredded mushrooms. It was pathetic. Anyone who has eaten ramen in Japan will know this is not the real deal. There is not even half a boiled egg. The only saving grace was the noodles which remain firm to the bite till the end.
Corrine
Waited for about 1.5 hours for our table and we were starving by the time we sat down. Ramen soup was tasty but for me wasn't salty enough, noodle cooked nicely and the pork is so soft! Portion was just right. We also ordered the chicken karaage, it comes in a cup and enough to share between 2 people.. Food was nice but im not sure i want to queue for that long whenever i feel like ramen.. should probably try the city branch one.. Staff are really nice and he greets every customer ;)
Justin
An amazing place to treat yourself and/or friends to some good ramen. After visiting Dosukoi a few times I always have the same thoughts when I leave, mostly being "that ramen was amazing!!". But in addition to the great taste you'll find at Dosukoi, the customer service is great too. The employees are always nice and friendly when they take your order and it helps you feel at home. Since Dosukoi is only open on the same days that the Fremantle Markets are open, the place is often quite crowded around lunch time so get in early to avoid the wait! However if the shop is particularly busy, the person taking your order will take your phone number down and they'll send you a text message when you meal is ready, so you can go and wander around the markets for a while and enjoy the buskers that are usually set up nearby so you don't have to sit waiting the whole time. The wait might get frustrating at times but it's worth the wait and everyone else thinks so too, that's why it's busy! So don't wait any longer, give Dosukoi a try if you haven't already.
Ling
Totally Over rated. There was only a very small, think piece of meat in the soup . Just ridiculous.

Over-rated and over-hyped. First time Dosukoi patron and surprised to be told there was going to be a 1 hour wait as well as the size of the place. But, considering all the positive reviews and raves, I was all for waiting (especially since they'll send you an sms so we were free to roam Fremantle Markets). But I was NOT happy to be told I had to order and pay first - now it feels like I'm trapped into waiting for a table no matter what.

Luckily, the wait time was pretty spot-on. I was starving by now and on my track record, everything tastes better when I'm starved. But this was not so unfortunately: the fired chicken was surprising small - it fits into a small chip cup! The taste was OK, but nothing special. The miso ramen only had one slice of pork in it (contrary to other pictures on Urbanspoon), and the noodles were a bit undercooked compared to what I'm use to. The miso soup was OK, but nothing spectacular.

I would like this place if I didn't have to wait 1 hr, or if it wasn't so over-rated and over-hyped. It really increased my expectations, so quite a let down now that I've had it. It was nothing even close to ramen in asian countries - very instant ramen quality.

Cheap yet tasty. Tried the ramen, fried chicken and takoyaki. Loved all 3. Loved the price even more.
Ps. I think the soup base and even the sauce got pork in it, so not advisable to bring your Muslim buddies here.

Underwhelming. It was OK. We decided to go here after I read all of the Urbanspoon reviews and thought I'd finally found a competitor for Nao. While the noodles are nice enough, it's not anything extraordinary. I had the soba noodles (the noodles and tempura were great) and I'd definitely recommend them over the ramen noodles my boyfriend had. The ramen noodles were just average compared to what we've had elsewhere.

I was prepared for a long wait (after reading the reviews here, seriously - a 2 hour wait?) but we just went inside at about 11.30 and sat right down. I guess it had something to do with the ridiculously hot weather today, but anyway... I probably wouldn't wait for this place as other people have.

So yeah, I don't really think it's worth the hype but it's nice for a < $10 meal and you're on your lunch break or something.

Yeah its not bad but nothing special. Is it worth the 2 hours wait? Noooo Way!! Is it worth the 1 hr wait? Borderline maybe. They need to have take away option. Theres other noodle house that taste just bout the same but dont need to wait this long. Staff were friendly i give them that. But we ate at the chair across the street on the side of the road with my grandma in wheelchair coz we couldnt wait another half hr of the already promised time of 1.5 hrs.
Cafe Hunter
Good but fluctuating quality. This has to be my fav ramen shop but I definitely need to comment on the fluctuation of their quality. In my experience, 50% of the time they're super good, 30% so so, 20% very bad. Hopefully they will look into this

If I could rate this place 1000% I would. The staff are always polite and courteous and the ramen is the best I've ever had in Perth or Melbourne. Terry, Jeff and the team are the ones you want to see for good ramen and YES it is worth the wait....
Jen
Authentic. I had original miso ramen, husband had sansai soba and we shared takoyaki. A very long wait, for good Japanese food. And not too expensive, either.

Hey they just opened an outlet in the Perth city at Allendale Square food court ( used to be call PAK). It is awesome!

Hrrm..my friend has recommended this place for ages. Usually so busy there so we just end up eating all the other amazing food at the market. Yesterday we went there, not the best service but I guess they're so busy. Place is over rated. Perhaps I'm just not into packet noodle tasting jap. Not sure , maybe that's what authentic japs meant to taste like. Won't go back for the noodles. But octopus balls great!

OMG That's awesome!. Love it so much much much much! Pleasant service.. Sometimes it takes long time to wait in peak time, but worth it. Never disappointed, never never never! Sadly i have to move back my country soon, will try once again before heading back. Love so much! i personally like the taro ball as well... :3 yummy! Craving to have it now...

Best ramen I've ever had. Their ramen is going to be in my mouth and belly at least once a week now. After reading the great reviews I gave it a go, a little worried about waiting times as I have a 30min lunch break, luckily though my break is in the morning just before their rush. I was told 15-20min if the 3 of us wanted a seat but when I asked if T/A was possible she offered standing outside by a shelf and we would have ramen in 5 min. Done! This was on a Sunday I might add. I see the only negative reviews are about service, and not being able to be seated, but I actually felt very taken care of, and I understand that if people are to wait 1 hour for a seat, and you bring someone who is not eating their ramen then it isn't all too fair on your behalf either on all the other people waiting for 1 hr for a seat. It does suck there is no more room but thats the way it is, maybe they will expand in the near future outside the markets, otherwise I don't see this problem being fixed... If the wait is a problem just come in the morning before the rush... I could eat their ramen for breakfast its so good!

What I love about the place....
It has an authentic feel, even standing outside to eat made me happy and reminisce of Japan.
Choose between ramen and soba noodles.. I LOVE soba!
That stock is ridiculous, definitely authentic, with bonito and pork bones.
Cheap!! and its a large serving
...and although I was struggling to finish the last few spoons... I felt awesome after, a relatively healthy alternative compared to most other market stalls, and even restaurants in Freo.

I had ramen in Japan a few times... and this is actually the best ramen I've had!

Very Disappointed. I have been to Dusokoi quite a few times over the years and the ramen is good. But how many times will you go to a place that has good food but pitiful customer care ?
I went there recently with my daughter and, as expected, was told I had to wait for about an hour. Being used to this it was not a problem. My daughter was hungry so we went somewhere for her to get lunch while we waited. Over an hour later of not receiving any SMS regarding our booking we decided to walk back to see what was happening.
On arriving at the the restaurant I was told that a seat was ready so I asked if my daughter could sit with me while I ate. I was told that, even though there were seats available, I would have to sit alone and my daughter would not be able to sit with me.
Dosukoi, great food + customer service = a great experience. Great food + lousy customer attention = bad taste in the mouth.
I hope that the proprietors of Dosukoi read their reviews because they need to realize that, just because they have a good food reputation, it does not excuse arrogance and ambivalence to their customer base.

Really liked the prawn dumpling ramen. We went on this Sunday afternoon, and the wait is a mere 20minutes. It was a really good & yummy lunch.

Quick, cheap and tasty. One of the better ramen places in Perth, Dosukoi makes for a satisfying ramen fix anytime.... the cha shu ramen in the soy base being our all time fave :)

Soup is delicious and all the noodles are just fantastic. Although there could be more variety on spicy ramen and bit more meat too (: I really like this!
The Phantom Eater
Good ramen. I hate freo markets, I hate waiting in line to eat , but damn , this ramen is good. Number 4 is my fave.

The broth makes it. Saturday October 12 Lunch

Broth is amazingly super tasty!!
Chicken kaarage is outrageously delicious!!

Not sure about their tempura items..

Loathe that they are not open every day...

Best of the best. Have tried ramen in other places and I would say that this place is the best. The broth is juicy. No.1 Fave!

I have to say that their ramen is authentic and tastes like the ramen u can get in japan. Best in Perth so far.

Extremely poor customer service. Have always raved about this place, even brought overseas visitors here. All this while service has been not bad, we have always been greeted with a smile. However today when I went with my husband and decided to share 1 dish between us, we were told we had to order another dish or only one seat would be allocated. We didnt. When our food arrived we both proceeded to sit down as there was no one else around at the time, then we were offered an extra bowl to share the food in. The waiter that took the order then came around and chased us away when i started eating. I found this very distasteful. It is rather confusing to offer the customer an extra bowl to share and then expect them to eat noodles without sitting down. This experience tells me they do not care about their customers, I have always been able to share with my girl friends no matter how busy the place was and I do not see why today would be any different. Chasing customers away especially after misleading them is terrible enough, but chasing customers who are already eating (after being misled) away and in front of other diners is a definite no-no. I am most appalled.

Awesome Ramen. Delicious Ramen - definitely worth waiting for! They take your mobile number and will SMS you once there is space available

It's the best!!. I've been to many different asian style places but i have to say : DOSUKOI IS THE BEST NOODLE PLACE IN THE PERTH METRO! Really it's soooo good, the noodle's very well cooked soft yet still holding its shape and texture. The soup is just to die for while the bubble tea is like every other bubble tea : good. The highlight would probably be the whole atmosphere of the place. It's not 'just' a stall in Freo Markets but it's a real unique true Japanese Restaurant. Terry greets you as you walk in even though he's pretty busy with everything else he still has time for the customers; not many places do these days...
Anyway overall Dosukoi Noodle and Bubble Tea is AMAZING! PEFECT! DELECTABLE! INGENIOUS! BEAUTIFUL! DELICIOUS! YUMMY! COZY! WONDERFUL!

Great ramen. Food comes out really quick and always consistently good. Although the wait time is normally 30 min - 1 hr depending how busy they are. Although while waiting, you can walk around the market, buy cheap fruit/veg, which I recommend as well. They take your number upon ordering and will SMS you when your seat is ready. I recommend menu no.4 (soft pork ramen).

Absolutely great ramen. We enjoy the ramen so much cos the taste is very original of Japanese. It like you eat ramen in japan. Recommend this to you all!!!

Lloydy. This place is simply superb, those of us that have visited jPN and enjoyed this wonderful dish will not be unhappy try no 4 soy base there will be tears of pleasure welling up in your eye sockets. I can't stand bubble tea so no comment. Oh no I have just extended the time I must wait for this joy

The ramen here is probably the best Japanese ramen that I've had in Perth! Only downer is having to wait for your order, they take your mobile number and text you when they have seats available as it's a very small establishment (you've got to wait about 30-45 min), luckily you can walk around the markets while waiting. If you're a fan of Japanese ramen definitely try this place, highly recommended.

Best Ramen in Perth. This Ramen is the real deal and probably the only authentic one in Perth.

Yummy Japanese noodles. This is a nice spot for a variety of yummy Japanese noodles. With only a few seats available, you have to be early to be a walk in or wait your turn. I had the ramen topped with fried chicken and it was a pretty yummy. The serving sizes seem to be smaller than what we have had on previous occasions. It's not a suitable location for groups larger than 2 or 3 as the place is really tiny and elbow room is limited at best. Also it's very much an eat and move along establishment. If you want somewhere to eat, laze & chat, the nearby cafe strip will fulfil your needs. Would happily return if I am in the area, but given a choice there's plenty of other Japanese dining establishments with much more choice that I'd choose first - but I wouldn't compare them as the type of dining is quite different to the lovely little nook that Dosukoi has established.

Best ramen in Perth!!. You would miss this small little eatery if you weren't paying attention. This place offers the BEST ramen in Perth. During lunch hour, you could be waiting for up to an hour for a seat as there are only 12 seats in the whole place.

The idea is to sit, eat and go.

Sam and I love this place and go here often for a quick cheap meal. He loves the fried chicken ramen and I love the dumplings ramen. I've tried the soba ramen as well, but had it as take away and it's just not the same. You really have to eat the ramen as soon as it's cooked.

Taco balls are also delicious as a side dish!
