Came in for brunch, service was great. Staff extremely friendly. Food was lovely and delicious, best chai latte I'd ever had. Shop was extremely clean and I loved the artwork on the walls

Tried the "Bit of everything" breakfast. The poached eggs were nice and runny, the bacon was delicious, not limp and fatty, there wasn't much chorizo but it was delicious. Mushrooms had a good flavour too. Service was friendly, I don't come here a lot but the lady behind the counter remembered I'd been in before which was nice. A very friendly and relaxed atmosphere, nice spot to sit and watch the traffic go by and chill out.

A higher than expected pricepoint and a menu that leaves a few essential items out has made me hold back 5 stars for this cafe. The customer service however, is very good, the food I ordered was fresh, and of good quality. Excellent plate up presentation.Wait time for being served was also minimal. Food tasted amazing, and the atmosphere is quite chilled, with a trendy vibe. Would easily recommend this place for a slightly more complete - or slightly different - menu at a cheaper price. Still extremely good in all other areas and a venue that won't disappoint those looking for a cafe that maintains a high benchmark for quality food. 3.5 stars.

We were craving breakfast for lunch and they absolutely hit the spot. We both loved our meal, the staff were super friendly and it had a great atmosphere. Food came quick and was delicious. I also wanted to swap an item in my meal for another and they were happy to do that. Definitely returning.

Came back again, Friday couldn't have been worse so decided to enjoy nice breakfast and coffee. But, things were not still in my favor. Coffee was extremely hot which ruined the flavor of the beans. The food was not up to the expectation as per the price range. There was no good texture to their so called JFC. It's one of the expensive cafe but yet no standards. Luckily, they got cozy sitting area but still not good enough to ignore the service provided.

Always been passing by this coffee shop (as our unit is only 2 minutes away) and was fairly impressed by the setting of this shop. Outdoor seating, AUD$3.00 for an 8oz coffee (all day erryday), and warm Customer Service made for a remarkable Sunday. Wooden decor inside and outside of the shop, and the chilled music added to the cosy atmosphere. We will be visiting this quaint little shop more often and would highly recommend this shop to anyone else in the area.

We have been here for breakfast and lunch and will continue to go as the food is the best quality and sourced locally and ethically - and delicious. The service is great - and IF something goes wrong they fix it. LOVE this place. you should try it :)

As I work in Freo, I've tried most coffee shops. Jack and the Bean has to be the best. Awesome coffee, food, service, interesting artwork to look at while you wait ��

Staff were polite but place was pretty dirty lots of old dishes still on the tables, order pancakes and get told there out of pancakes. Order a waffle instead ... waffle just tasted like egg, covered in cheap chocolate sauce from a bottle, half a banana and one scoop of ice cream. Smoothie was given to the wrong customer so I sat there waiting for it the whole time (was only 2 other groups of people) finished my food and still no smoothie. Such a shame because I had previously been here and it was good... not this time sadly.

$3 coffee which is cheaper than most places- that’s a plus. And dog friendly. Had the protein bowl which I enjoyed, though was a bit oilier than I prefer.

Great find in fremantle, lovely cafe to chill out in heart of fremantle. We tried their eggs on toast and eggs benedit, servings are huge and they are yummy!<br/>Some toys are also available to entertain kids while you enjoy your meals.

First time for breakfast last weekend. Just went for one of the bacon and egg wraps along with a juice. Everything nice and fresh. Staff very friendly. Will definitely go again next time in Freo

This cafe is easy, fast, cheap and most importantly bloody good.  The staff (& owner) are friendly & releaxed (But not obnoxious like many a try hard hipster cafe staff) and most importantly focused on service (& speed).<br/><br/>& Best Bacon in Freo.

excellent run cafe, have been in Fremantle for a work RnR and my breakfast there several times. The location is great, it's quite outside, still enough space inside, central, staff not only friendly but involved. You see details like the pretty glass bottles for water, very tasteful variation of food, paintings, variation of music fits. Very young and very old come here also ... the perfect cafe!

Came here for brekkie on a Saturday. There were already a fair group of people outside which is their largest dining area; inside is quite small. So a great place to hang out in sunny months! I ordered at the counter the avocado mash ($16) and a long Mac topped up. Service was friendly. Coffee came out reasonably fast and was good. Brekkie soon followed and I was surprised the serve was smaller than expected. Was good and certainly very tasty. I had not realized that I could have added other items to the dish like chorizo.

Staff were very nice and enthusiastic. Mixed up my order a little bit I guess that always happens every now and again.. the eggs on toast came out cold but the juice was amazing!

We came here on a Wednesday morning so it wasn't too crowded because it was 7am! I ordered the cream cheese stuffed french toast which is Instagram famous. Personally I really don't see the hype, In some parts of the French Toast there is too much cream cheese and some parts have no cream cheese at all. It is also not moist enough, even though it does have a nice flavour. <br/>

The lemon slice was good and mini-reviewer number one loved his smoothie but rated his banana bread as 'eh...ok'. 8 y/o speak for 'I really actually want that chocolate muffin dad!'<br/><br/>The dogs had a good time people watching and it is a very central Freo location. I just think that there are better places in town.

So excited to finally come here to try the French toast, or anything from the amazing sounding menu. Alas their kitchen was closed at 1.30! Didn't fancy anything cake like so ordered a turmeric latte, which they'd run out of! Not going well... However kids were happy with their banana smoothies and non-kid happy with lemon slice. Coffee however was declared anaemic. Not sure I'll make the trip again from Yanchep however good to know of a doggy/kiddy friendly place (3 dogs, 2 kids!) if in the area again. Before 1.30.

This is my favourite smoothie stop! I love the Nut job and Wake me up but it has to depend on which wait staff that does the smoothie thats why i am giving it a 3 rather than a 4 as the smoothies taste isnt consistent. Thats the downer! Breakfast in my opinion is average as there are better breakfast places in freo with different and vast options. Anyways still my place for morning smoothies!

Came here for Father's Day breakfast- one of the only Cafes that let me book! Menu is delightful. Food was amazing and service was wonderful. What a lovely little Freo treasure. Def recommend.

Just had brunch here.  The staff attitude was appalling, by one cap-wearing chap in particular.<br/>I ordered one of the juices from the wall menu.   I was told that juice was unavailable.  No apology, just that.<br/><br/>When ordering, I pointed to the roll with mushrooms in the cabinet and asked if it was vegetarian.  As he answered yes I ordered it but what came out was not the same one.  This roll was vegetarian also and looked okay so I ate it, thinking I'd mention the mistake when this chap came outside again which I did in a polite tone.  He said I actually did order this particular roll.   Ah no - I didn't actually but I didn't say that or take it further.  I thought maybe an apology would be forthcoming here also but alas no, instead he walked away shaking his head!!!<br/><br/>I won't be back; instead I'll go back to the lovely little family run cafe right next door; see if they still do that mean mushroom toastie and we can talk about the Dockers!

The honey pumpkin bowl had a range of textures and tastes. Absolutely delicious brunch meal which was dairy free, vegetarian and gluten free (accident choice). <br/>Customer service was good when waiter checked that we were satisfied with all three of our meals. <br/><br/>Weak coffee with takeaway cups being extra 70 cents.<br/>However overall, Coffee and brunch for under $20 was very good value.

The fresh morning breeze flowing into this little quirky cafe with a warm sun shining on the long bench table. Foods were okay, average but prompt services. However, staffs weren’t as friendly as the reviewers said. I was somehow disappointed after visiting it. (1) Brioche French Toast:. Such a perfect one among all the fried chicken dishes I’ve ever tasted, not to mention the crunchy fried chicken. The softness of french toast balances the roughness of fried chicken at first bite. And when you bite it deeper, more of the spicy tastes are coming out from the chicken. I won’t reckon you this dish if you cannot eat spicy things because this one was super hot!!!

Overall a good cafe. Quinoa breakfast bowl with almond milk minus the yogurt was very nice. They have one vegan dish but you can make changes to a couple of other dishes. Green smoothie was tasty and the seating outside was nice with our fluffy companion. Staff were friendly too. Cool to see the human zoo characters on the wall. Worth a try.

Nice cafe, good food and coffee. Very impressed when the chef sent out a second (runny) poached egg (gratis) because she realized the first one was a bit hard. Don't get that in Sydney.

Had lunch here today! We had the toastie and the pulled pork burger. The toastie was top notch, it had amazing bread and the egg was still gooey - perfect! The pulled pork burger was nice, but as is a problem with a lot of pulled pork, it was a bit dry. The flavour made up for that fact though, and the crunchy slaw and brioche bun were great. Friendly staff and a seriously delicious chai made for a lovely spot to stop for lunch.

Great coffee. Lovely, friendly staff who were very helpful when we had a hundred questions about the ingredients in the different slices!! They were able to recommend ones that were sugar free, grain free, vegan etc.<br/>Will definitely be back!

Great breakfast to cure the hangover. Had the avo mash bruschetta with delicious gooey eggs. One of the best green smoothies I've had in a while and the peanut butter protein milkshake was spot on. The only critique would be my coffee was slightly on the milky side but I did order a large. Service was brilliant. Definitely will be going back!

Best service I've experienced in Perth. The bearded dude who served us was super accommodating and didn't make us feel like we had to leave as soon as we finished our meals which was great! Breakfast was fantastic. They were generous portion sizes without being ridiculous. Food and service was so good I went back the same day for lunch. The pumpkin beetroot salad (I added chicken) was divine.

Went for brunch today. This place has a cool menu for breakfast and lunch . Today I had the mushroom bruschetta which ra great. Every time I eat here the food is good the staff are friendly and I reckon they do the best chai lattes in WA

Stopped off here for coffee this morning. <br/><br/>The coffee was good, our muffin was delicious and other people's food looked amazing. We'll have to come back!<br/><br/>The staff were friendly and efficient. The only slight problem was that the music was a little loud but overall this cafe is great

My favourite Avocado Mash with 2 Poached Eggs. They always serve a great coffee and always with a smile. They never disappoint, one of my favourite places to go for breakfast.

LOVE Jac and the Bean. The service is always outstanding and the food and coffee is always really great. I love the place and I'll keep coming back. Happy to support local businesses!

I could write all kinds of wonderful things about this place but most importantly I want to let everyone know just how knowledgeable and helpful the staff are, each and every staff member seems to have been selected from the same mould, it really is a refreshing change from what has sadly become the standard in WA. These guys are the next level. Do yourselves a favour and try this place.

Wow! A spontaneous and last minute decision to try Jac and the Bean for breakfast this morning was one of the best decisions we’ve made. A girlfriend had the day off, so to enjoy this beautiful weather we decided to drive to Freo for a breakfast date. The two of us are rather indecisive so once again, I relied on Zomato for a suggestion/recommendation. Jac and the Bean came up in the area and after busily stalking their Facebook and instagram pages, we knew we couldn’t go by without giving them a try.<br/>From the minute we arrived, our experience was gold! Available parking right out front, our choice of several vacant tables both in and outside and to top it off smiling, friendly baristas when we walked in. I ordered a long black and the Quinoa Breakfast Bowl which certainly disappoint!

Best brekky I have come across in Freo. The image shows poached eggs, but the scrambled are just as good at this joint. Good coffee, great service and a 10/10 painting of Nat Fyfe on the main seating area's wall for the footy fans. Banana and mango smoothie is a must

Monday morning breakfast - Shakshouka eggs and flat white coffee.  The tomato in the Shakshouka was a little watery but the dish was nice enough.  The coffee was ok but not great.  Nice atmosphere and pleasant staff.  Fashionable hole-in-the-wall vibe.

Always busy and can be difficult to get a table. Coffee was nice but nothing to really Zomato about (is that a thing yet?). Great atmosphere, especially on weekends.

PURE DELICIOUSNESS. I don't usually order pancakes at a cafe, or give compliments to the cook... But I did both here! The pancakes were delicious, and everyone I was with enjoyed their meals immensely! We just had to pass on our gratitude for the lovely food, and the fantastic service.

Enjoyed a nice breakfast here. <br/>Staff were friendly. <br/>Recieved a free drink after chef made and error which staff picked up on 1st before I got a chance to realize or mention :) <br/>Juices and smoothies on the higher $$ but I guess it is Freo. <br/>Would visit again :)

Love It!. I eat at Jac and the Bean quite regularly and absolutely love it! I'm not a coffee drinker but there are plenty of other options on the menu including fresh healthy juices and I can't go past the Pranah chai latte! The breakfasts are well priced and quite large serves, my favourites being the smashed avocado or the mushroom and feta! <br/>Such a cosy cafe with a great vibe, the artwork on the wall is amazing, a real Freo atmosphere! What's better is free wifi :)

Best cafe in Freo!!. This is by far my favourite little place to dine at in Fremantle. With amazing gluten free choices, attentive staff, the best coffee and free wifi there's not much more you could want!!

Just a few little beans. Stopped in at this lovely small cafe on Saturday morning. Ordered breakfast for two with coffees. Food came in a timely manner and was served on delicious sourdough bread. Staff were polite and friendly. Will be going back in the future.

Simply the best (breakfast) in Freo. The Breakfast Club....<br/><br/>Out of curiosity, we often forgo the chance to dine at Jac and the Bean and shop around to see if there are other breakfast haunts that make the grade. Chances are we don't find such a venue and kick ourselves for missing out on the excellent fare than J&tB have to offer.<br/><br/>Simply the best breakfast we have found in Freo... hands down (and we have tried everywhere). If you want tasty, good portions of quality and healthy food with a consistency that never seems to fail, look no further.<br/> <br/>TBC

Coffee with a chocolate finish, we'll presented meals and great staff ...hmmm ...one to plan my walks and bike riding around ...what a contrast to the large ugly cafe next door ...don't bother to ask. Top mark from me for a first visit ...will review again later.

Just had the most horrible experience here. As two cealic diners we went in and ordered two meals with gluten free bread. We were informed that there was only enough bread for one of our meals and so politely requested a refund. This was met my eye rolling and us being told "we have already started cooking it, don't you just want one piece of bread each" (as I had ordered a toastie this was a confusing question but I digress). The rudeness and bad attitude of this cafe was ridiculous. Go to Coles and buy some bread or don't try and bully us into having whole wheat to make your life easier.

Disappointed. Ordered the field mushrooms - mushrooms, spinach, poached eggs with goats cheese. I received two giant slices of mushrooms-doesnt cooked, watery spinach, what appeared to be microwaved poached eggs and spinach. Time and time again, sick of paying for "restaurant/cafe" food that is substandard. I could and do cook better at home. Not worth wasting your $, go elsewhere....

Friendly service, delicious creative meal. The sweet potato and chorizo mash was amazing, definitely the best brunch I've had so far in 2014. Really friendly service, great coffee, free baby chinos for the kids. Will definitely be back!

We selected a table in a cosy little corner where we could people watch and explore the art work all over the walls at our leisure. There’s a decent amount of choice on the menu with plenty of cheaper options on offer. You’ll need to place and pay for your order at the counter. We found the service to be really friendly and fairly prompt, especially considering that we added a few extra things later on that took our fancy! Our lattes were made with Fiori beans and had a really lovely flavour.
