Excellent cuisine and brilliant value. Also really good vegetarian options plus just ask & they'll veganise any dish. Friendly and efficient staff. Definitely worth a visit.
Relaxed atmosphere, food fantastic and reasonably priced
The food here is delish, would have to be my favorite in Perth :) also very friendly staff!
Me and partner regularly order from the Huntingdale Branch
BEST lamb korma & Garlic Naan! :)
The butter chicken was the best my partner and i have had-you could taste the tandoor flavour in it.
Goat curry was yummy too.
Delivered to our door in 45mins.
The only minus was the poor english of the person taking the phone order-we got there in the end though! This will be my new local takeaway : )
We have enjoyed the hospitality and the food many times by now.
But now it is at the time to write a new review.
I had Chicken Madras my wife had had Saag Prawn with Plain steam rice with garlic and cheese naan.
Like every time, the people are friendly, and the food is superb.
We can highly recommend the Darbar In South Fremantle

Very tasty food... Got takeaway for the first time
Spices were just right and the meat was tender.
Definitely order again.
Naan was cooked just right and the portions were huge

Always fantastic food at the Darbar, very consistent over the three years we have been coming here. There is no better restaurant of this type. Lovely friendly service from Sinita- as always. Thanks guys. Keep up the great work. Gary & Heather.
Yum, yum, yum. Great local Nepalese restaurant that always has us coming back for more! Whether it's dine-in or take-away, the Darbar always produces delicious curries And naan.
Friendly staff, nice food. The big issue is no proper air ventilation causing all smoke from the kitchen coming into dining area causing a bad experience.Irritated eyes and coughing forced us to escape soon.
This was a most enjoyable, tasty experience. The setting and ambience was just perfect. Just a safety tip: watch out for the step when you go to the toilet from the dining room
Absolutely delicious food! Excellent service, very helpful and allowed us to order dishes not on the menu. The yellow lentil was my favorite although hard to fault the delicious spiced pumpkin. Left full and satisfied with plenty of leftover to enjoy tomorrow :)
Ever time we where there,Great food with exceptional service!
Best Nepalese food!
Will be back for sure
Fresh and delicious! We were feeling really slack and they delivered to us over the road, friendly and good service! Will certainly have this food delivered again
Best 🌶 Indian cuisine I have ever tasted ! Enjoyed every bite of food here ! " veg biryani" is the best of lot I have ever tasted in Perth ! Cheers !
Good Aussie-Indian food. They have really good North Indian stuff, I had roti and panner tikka masala and heard the veg biryani here tastes good as well. Can visit if you crave for Indian spices.
Had a voucher in the entertainment book, so decided to give this place a go. A little out of the way, and quiet, but service was quick, food didn't take too long. Curries were delicious and servings were generous. The naan was really nicely done. Highly recommend the rice with cumin seed and butter.
A hidden gem discovered in the suburban areas of Fremantle, this Indian and Nepalese restaurant offers an all you can eat meal at an affordable price. Staff were all very helpful and catered to our needs and the restaurant presented itself nicely. All food there was delicious with one or two were spicy so if you cannot handle spicy, best to avoid these. Naan bread was thin and crispy as opposed to fluffy and full. And of course, we ate to our content. We were required to reuse our plates, but that was as expected for the price we paid and definitely a "self service" styled place.
Really clean flavors. Meat must be cooked slowly as it is very tender. Have had menu items and the buffet. the buffet could benefit from more vegetarian options. I had the chilli chicken once, I can handle my spice extremely well, but this was too hot! I mean, i finished it, but i knew about it later!
Out-of-the-way location but great food and good service. The vegetarian momos are freshly steamed and delicious. The potato curry and parathas are divine. Lighting is soft - not your usual WA glare - and the atmosphere relaxed. BYO and the prices are more than reasonable. Highly recommended.
Best Restaurant for Chickent chilli and Lamb Under new Management looks much better its my third time the meal is given in excellent condition and with smile !
Had great time with the family there. The food was amazing, authentic traditional Nepalese delicacy. i especially loved the goat curry with naan and chicken chilli.will recommend all the Nepalese and indian food lovers to be there once and enjoy the unique taste of Himalayan foods.
Went to the The Darbar restaurant for the 1st time and was really impressed with quick service, friendly staff, good food and great atmosphere...
Buffet was excellent. I think they have a new chef. Anyway very fresh, lots of choice and lovely staff. $29 each, great value. Get down and support these guys!
Amazing curry, never too heavy. Have never had a meal we didn't enjoy! Well done!!
Best Indian Food In Perth!. Fantastic mouthwatering food, friendly and unintrusive service and relaxing atmosphere! Seriously the tastiest meal we have had in a long time! We intend to return many times and work our way through the menu.Thank you for a terrific night!!

First time! Will most definantly be going back! Chicken tikka was delicious! Onion Baji was amazing! So happy with the speed and service!
Food is great!! The scoopon deal is very cheap! We were able to eat so many dishes without paying ,service was great but a bit slow.. I know it takes time to get things done. Me and my friend were happy with the quality of the food .. We will come back for more :)
Awesome good food. Nice courteous staff. The dal makhni was yummy. Mango lassi too good too.
Enjoyed a very tasty meal. Delicious black Dahl - hard to find in Perth. Naan was excellent too.
Really good. Went for dinner with my hubby tonight and we couldn't fault a thing!!! (Our baby crying maybe only thing:) it was soooo tasty food!!! Loved it! Dishes are really flavoursome, nan bread was to die for!!!
Would recommend to everyone! We are that full now that its hard to move!
Thanks a lot!!! Will be back!
Great food. I've been there twice and both times food was really delicious :) First time we had an Indian waiter and he was really helpful explaining to us what sort of dishes do they have and his recommendations were excellent. Second time we had Australian girl as a waitress and she was nice too but did not recommend anything interesting.
Great service, EXTREMELY accommodating, delicious food! We had a Scoopon. It was all you can eat and we were made to feel welcome to order everything we wanted. We enquired about an unusual dish not on menu and were told to give a day's notice and they would make it especially for us next time. We will be back with our friends!!!
Yummy food. Went there last Friday for dinner. It wasn't overly busy.
Setting: Simple, with titled floor. Tables setting with white paper on white table cloth.
Service: We were greeted very quickly and food came out quickly too! Staff acting professionally.
Food: Entree: Chicken dumpling - 8 pieces - they were sooo good!! They are like the dumplings in chinese restaurant but bigger. Main: Chicken special - very tasty and the chicken were very tender. Beef saag - very good! Again the meat was tender. Both mains were rich and not spicy but very tasty. The Garlic Naan was huge!
Dessert: Rice pudding - served hot/warm - like! Pistachio ice cream - didnt like them as it was a bit sticky and didnt taste like pistachio.
Price: Reasonable.
Overall: Very happy with the choice - nice food, will go there again! also parking is easy!
Good food - can recommend Darbar. My wife and I are Indian food fans who have spent a couple years in India and we both enjoy the Darbar. We order vegetarian and fish and especially like the Fish Tikka and Mushroom Masala, but everything we've tried has been good. The service is fine and has never been a problem.
Mixed Experience's. Visited the Darbar numerous times in the last year. Each experience has been different, but the food has always been of a consistent good standard. One time we visited on a groupon voucher which was reluctantly accepted by the man we presume to be the manager. He didn't show us through the menu or offer to open our BYO bottle. Maybe he was having an off day? Another time we visited on a livingsocial voucher, had great service. Waitresses/Waiters were friendly/helpful.
So overall, a bit hit and miss with the service, but the foods always great!
Fantastic meal!. The food was delicious. We chose dishes marked as specifically Napalese. The service was very good with friendly and helpful staff. We went there with a voucher and will certainly go again.
Delicious dishes!! very friendly team.
Great Place. I bought a voucher for my parents for dinner and they were very happy with the food and service.
Went to Darbar for dinner with a Groupon voucher. Staff explained the deal to us very thoroughly, we were surprised by the large amount of dishes to choose from given that we were using a Groupon voucher. Staff took the time to give us recommendations when choosing our dishes. All food was served very quickly and tasted great. The lamb chops are a must! But the highlight of the evening was the exceptional service. Despite the restaurant being full with diners, staff still took the time to explain everything, and with a smile on their face. Would definitely recommend this place.
Food was tasty & served quickly. Service was pretty good. I found the restaurant a little cold. I would've liked it a little cosier. My kulfi was very iced up and chewy on outside as if freezer damaged. Still the rest of food was great
Absolutely delicious food, especially chef special Nepalese lamb, Devine nann but... Service was very slow, waiting for plate clearing for too too long.
Good value. Group of 12 of us, unfortunately a bit raucous (but sober), so the ambience was difficult to comment on objectively. The surroundings are rather plain. The food is standard Indian with some Nepalese additions. Waiters dealt with us well under the circumstances, and the food was quite good. Not quite up to Copper Chimney or Milan standard , but almost on a par with the Bengal. We had butter chicken, a jalfrezi dish, that spinach/cheese thing, a tandoori chicken and I can't remember what else. No duds. Various naans were tasty, rice was very late arriving. Rice pud for afters was good. All for under $30 a head! Not a gourmet night out, but excellent for an " I can't be bothered to cook" evening.
Dinner 11/5/13. Dined her with a Groupon voucher for 4. Wonderful food and so reasonably priced. The surrounds are not flash but it is BYO and corkage is only $2.00 a bottle. Will definitely return.
My husband and I dined in on Wed night using Living Social Voucher. A very pleasant experience. Friendly service and everything we ordered was very tasty and generous serving. Compliments to the Chef! Definitely we will be back and highly recommend this restaurant for those looking for a good quality Indian food.
Been 4 times. Food is excellent. Spicy if you like it. Service is average at best but you can forgive that for the standard of the food and value for money. And I am very fussy with my Indian food!
So so good.. WOW what can i say about the Darbar, from the moment we walked in and were hit by the aroma i knew this place was going to be good. The staff were friendly and though attentive they didnt hover but were kept busy by a big turnover of diners. Its spacious and quite a large restaurant. We didnt wait long for our food and it was delishious and full of mouth watering goodness. Highly recommended.
Quiet and simple place but delicious food. Good serving sizes and quick service
Absolutely Fantastic. The best Indian in Perth - The service was polite and punctual, but the food it was amazing, we had veg samosa, napelanese lamb, chicken briyani, chicken saag wala The best food Ive had at an indian restaurant in many many years. Will definately be going back.
Love this place. Great service, consistently delicious food, value for money. We'll definately be returning!!
Had a table booked for two on 21 july at 7.30, despite the restaurant being almost full we were served our entrees of Momos promptly which were delicious with the accompanied sauce. Chefs lamb special and chicken vindaloo for mains were a little slow arriving but after reminding the waiter they were quickly delivered to our table with a serve of garlic naan and steamed rice. Overall a very enjoyable, well priced evening with very tasty food. Will certainly return. Also great to find a restaurant that doesn't rip you off on corkage ($1 p/p)
Brilliant!!. This place was great...the food was excellent. Would highly recommend the Chefs special lamb which was melt in your mouth. Yellow dahl delicious and the momos wonderful. In fact all the food was surprisingly good! Even the chai tea was yummy. The service was warm and friendly and they are keen for feedback. Give this place a go!!!
What's not to like? Had the $19 Sunday buffet with the family. Kids loved it. Stomachs filled. Going home to lay down. That's what Sunday lunch should be. Nice staff.
A hidden "gem" in South Fremantle - just opened. Best Indian/Nepalese food we have had since our honeymoon trip to Nepal 23 years ago !!!
The freshness and quality of the food (especially the Yellow Dal) was amazing - we felt like we were back in Kathmandu !! "The Darbar" is on the site of the old La Dolce Vita restaurant.
It is very well priced and the staff are efficient, friendly and helpful. You can state your preference for hot, medium or mild spiced food.
Thoroughly recommended..........
Darbar Indian Nepalese Restaurant is located in suburbia in South Fremantle. As the name suggest, it specialises in quality Indian and Nepalese food. When my dad saw the special on one of the daily deal sites, we thought it was good value for money and interesting to try a cuisine that we haven't really tried before. For my parents who tend not to venture out too far into other cuisines, this was a good opportunity when you get $122 worth for the low price of $58 for four people
