27 yrs after I first had your pizza it's still amazing , crisp on the bottom , fluffy crust, quality ingredients and lovely ratios , amazing mouth feel , perfection
My partner and I ate here last night- The chicken penne pasta was the best pasta dish I've had in a looong time and the staff were super friendly! Would definitely recommend to everyone! Make sure you book beforehand as they get super busy!
Even though the steak my partner ordered wasn’t very good the rest of the food was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, they took $20 off my partners meal as he couldn’t eat it.
My friends and I would like commend all of your workers and you on putting in so much effort, determined and worked extremely hard to make this easter long weekend run very smoothly .Also , my friends and I were very pleased with the food and service. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
Great place to hang out on a Sunday for lunch. Impressive quality and range of food on offer. The chill mussels are worth a try.
We had a table of 4 with everyone very happy with there meals with large portions and a great friendly waitress!! Wouldn't hesitate two go again!!
Lovely staff, the manager tonight was very good.
Loved the pizza! We will be back!
Best pizzas and mussels! A lot of Italian restaurants but this place is my favourite with delicious food. hopefully my family and I can visit soon
Our family really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here. I had the chicken parmigiana and my wife had a pasta dish. Both meals had good portion sizes and were very tasty. The hawaiian pizza was excellent. Service was good.
Pizza Bella Roma is a Fremantle institution; I still recall coming here with my family, as a kid, for Sunday lunch with our grandparents. But as I grew older I stopped going; grabbing bites are more 'trendy' cafes in Fremantle area but this weekend my sister and I took a trip of nostalgia and returned. The smell of the kitchen alone brought back good memories.
We managed to score a table inside - it was pretty miserable weather outside but they do have large heaters for the brave. We ordered the Pizza special - chilli and meatballs, a small did us (with leftovers). The crust was delicious and crunchy on the edges. It had enough topping without being too much and was packed with flavour.
We followed this with a tortellini carbonara and chilli mussels. Both of which were flavourful and decent portion sizes.
The only downside of this visit was; we had a long wait time between our dishes coming out. However, once brought to the attention of a staff member the issue was solved in under three minutes, with many apologies and extra bread and a round of drinks for the table.
We'll be back for that trip down memory lane.

Maybe the best Spaghetti Carbonara I have had!
If I'm in Freo and in the mood for some good Italian I can't go past Pizza Bella Roma! It's not fine dining but super casual just how I like it. Everything is always prepared well and priced reasonably, the staff are fantastic and not obtrusive.
The Spag Carbonara is to die for, be sure to order some bread to dip into the sauce! (Trust me!!)
If I had to pick I guess the restaurant could use some modernisation, at the same time I hope It never changes. Will always return.
OK but not outstanding. The pizzas on the raised trays do look impressive but I'm always surprised by the queue to dine here. Each to their own?
Came here late on a Sunday night with cravings for pasta and chilli. We ordered the big family size of mussels because usually when you see 1-1.5kilos it's all shell and tiny little buds of mussel meat and also you smirk as you know you are an eating goddess machine just in case they do really mean 1.5kg (I was also wearing a dress big enough to fit two people so I felt the urge to fill it). My partner ordered the salmon pasta as he was craving pasta big time. The pasta was cooked perfectly and there was a lot of salmon. Bit heavy on the dill. We asked for the chilli mussels to be as hot as they can make it alas it wasn't very hot. We added extra chilli flakes to up the ante. Serving sizes were huge and after getting this, some drinks, bread and chips (like i said - eating machine) it came to about $40pp. Not bad for Freo. Service was great and we will definitely be coming back to try more off the menu.
Delicious pizza and pasta, awesome service and a Great vibe in the place. We had the Bella Roma pizza and the carbonara, both were banging thanks for having us.
Always love coming to Pizza Bella Roma for outstanding service and delicious authentic Italian food. Definitely the best Italian restajrant in Fremantle and would highly recommend the spaghetti marinara and Tortellini.
Very yummy
The plates are so big that I take them home and eat it all up.
I like it so so much

Proven time and time again
The best restaurant in Fremantle.
I've been going here for more than 10 years and visit lots of restaurants in Freemantle and always make my way back to pizza Bella Roma
Tortellini carbonara is amazing, the pizzas are to die for and their squid is the best around.
yes it gets busy at times but that just proves what a good restaurant that is, if you haven't been to this place make sure that you go whilst in Fremantle
Some people are a bit precious around here. Went there last night and have been going there for over 20 years, never a bad meal. It is what it is and doesn't pretend to be anything different. Relatively simple, but great food accompanying friendly service.
If you want fine dining with peace and quiet then go somewhere else.
Still the best restaurant in Freo.
Have been coming to Bella Roma since I first came to Australia, never had a bad meal. However recently dined and ordered a pizza and it came out burnt, so we asked for a replacement and it came out a little bit on the burnt side, again... Never mind that though, I'll stay away from the pizzas as all the other meals are still delicious.
Always one of my favourite Italian places in Perth. Good portions good taste and good value for money. The only thing on the menu that needs improving is the garlic prawns.
I was very satisfied overall the last time I dined at Pizza Bella Roma. Their staff are friendly and welcome you at the door. Their service was quick and efficient. Food was above average and very tasty. They have a good wine list. There are gas heaters to keep you warm if you're sitting outside at night or in winter time. They noticed our table was unbalanced and wedged it level all of their own accord. They also brought a bowl of water out for my friends dog. I was quite impressed and had a good night.
Great family restaurant in the heart of Fremantle ! Best pizza in Fremantle & hearty , home style pastas
Delicious sauces guaranteed to please !
Great place. the service and the food were fantastic. It´s not easy to find good italian food (good pizza for me) So I liked this place, People are so nice too, we´ll definetly be back!
If you are after fine dining ala Heston, or a spot of Korean marinade and micro herbs on your marinara, go somewhere else. If you feel like a generous bowl of creamy pasta ala Grandma, a massive pizza, massive chips, a generous salad to share, and friendly, unpretentious staff, drop by Bella Roma. Ignore the reviews and give it a go; the rating on here is unreasonably harsh.
2 for dinner. We had come here a couple of times already. we share a bruscheta (very good), then my girlfriend had a creamy pasta chicken and me a calabrese pasta. they were both perfect, also the service was very good, they were busy but the waiter came to check on us a couple of times. overall very nice experience!
Not a great dining experience. We went there to celebrate a birthday with 14 people. Although the food was nice, two of our meals did not make the order and consequently did not reach two of our group until after we had all finished our meals.
The waiter did apologise but when we went to pay our bill, they did not even take off the corkage or perhaps at least one of the two meals that were served extremely late. This spoilt my dining experience and will consider whether to return or not.
Great seat next to the street front windows, ordinary food. This place is something of an institution, and although quality has slowly gone downhill in recent years, a table next to the huge open windows facing the street on a warm day is one of the simple pleasures in life for people watchers. Standard fare pizzas and pastas, nothing to get excited about, but it's still a great spot to catch up with friends.
Still Pretty Good!. My wife and I ate at Belle Roma yesterday and it was busy. We hadn't been there in a couple of years but used to frequent the place regularly when we lived near Freo. We have had some bad mussels there in the past (which I ate and did not complain about) but have always been happy with the quality and the price of every other thing we have purchased there. Yesterday we had the pasta specials which were just variations on spaghetti carbonara; one was chicken, pesto and mushrooms and the other chicken, bacon and mushrooms both in cream sauces. They were generous serves and tasted great -- very fresh and perfectly cooked. We also ordered the garden salad to share which is still a nice size and top notch. The place is nothing fancy to look at, having a casual family vibe and cruise-y eclectic staff which suits me. Being a former chef I dislike all of the snobbery of formal dining experiences and over-zealous waitstaff hovering around me. I prefer to feast on modestly priced, honest food at a location for regular people who just want a meal and not some culinary journey/transcendental experience.
First of all the service was quick for a buisy restraunt. my marinara was nice besides the fish was frozen and chewy, sauce was nice not too oily and spagehetti was cooked too perfection. overall i would give this place a 7/10.
Visited this restaurant tonight while walking past in Freo. It was house full with people waiting for a table. We waited for 5 min and got a table. The service was good. The food and ambience was good too. Prices were Freo prices as anyone would expect. Had the chicken Diana $28 nicely grilled free range chicken breast with garden salad. The ladies had a Mondo veg large pizza $30 which was delicious with sumptuous toppings.
Pros: decent food with quick & friendly service.
Cons: No desserts menu! Overall slightly expensive but every restaurant in Freo is a rip off.
Don't really understand why this restaurant has only 51% likes and so many bad reviews here! Thankfully I didn't check urbanspoon before entering else we wouldn't have experienced the good service!
Will visit again in near future.
Called in tonight to try it. My companion was certain that the place had gone down hill over the last couple of years - but what the heck. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
Service was good from start to end.
We shared a pizza that was tasty and enjoyed.
Only gripe would be the paper napkins tucked away in a container on the table with the cutlery - more of better quality would be appreciated.
All in all ( considering some of the other reviews :-) ) not bad.
5 of us for lunch today. Nice welcome by Scottish guy and seated promptly. Order taken, drinks arrived, food followed about 20 mins later. 2 large pizzas, brushetta and gnocchi
All freshly cooked, hot and very tasty, been a couple of times now and has never disappointed us. Great strip location, will return again.
Had a great experience with the family! Great service, humgry kids that were kept entertained with coloring in and bang pizza's were out in no time. Tasty too... So got with your feet like the 200 other people and give this ol Freo faithful a go....
Pizza was lovely salad was fresh and service was with a smile. Compensated for a disappointing dinner at the local tapas.
This is a decent family restaurant though over priced as per Perth standards. Service was friendly and efficient . Food is ok and pretty standard fare, kids love the spaghetti and the pizzas are ok if a little bland. My only real complaint is the ludicrous size of the servings. I had a veal parmigiana that was, without exaggeration a foot across. I'm not a shy eater but I managed to eat a third of the 'veal' with the chips and salad. My 12 year old nephew ordered an entree sized spaghetti. There would have been at least a kilo of food served to him and he was embarrassed he couldn't eat it all. This is so wasteful and morally wrong. That's my gripe anyway.
Fab family enviroment. Reading these reviews i can't believe its the same place that we visited over the festive period. The staff where inviting and obliging despite the fact it was extremely busy. Not only was it full but there was a queue outside the door, which was being dealt with admirably by a charming doorman. We have 3 children who were fetched colouring in by a lovely waiter. The food was great with very generous serves. Above all my partner drinks southern comfort which they don't sell but the manager went and grabbed some from the bottle shop! Now that’s service. This is the most child friendly establishment i have ever been to. WELL DONE. If only more parents had time to write reviews.....
- Excellent Pizzas. Probably one of the best in Perth-Freemantle area. The pizzas are so fresh and flavoursome, just loved it.
- Excellent location and in mid of all action in freemantle. Being lined up beside very good bars gives you a great option after your drinks.
- I personally did not liked their Pasta that much. Its not great at all compared to their pizza and I felt its quite bland in taste.
- Could be very crowded on weekends and you could literally be banging ech others table and chairs while trying to sit and eat. I felt they have accomodated more tables than the space allows and its very crowded inside & sometimes inconvinient.
Having said that, I will definately suggest this restaurant to everyone.
Very good food and relatively quick service considering it was packed for lunch.
A bit pricey but very generous portions. My beef tortellini with bacon were amazing, tortellini cooked to perfection and a creamy sauce. The pan fried veal with spaghetti bolognese as side dish were a great 2-in-1 meal which my husband devoured.
I had lunch here on WA day. The atmosphere was good, the staff were very friendly even though they were busy and true to Italian form the servings were very generous. I had the veal schnitzel with chips and mushroom sauce. Was tender and took me 30 minutes to finish it. I will definitely be returning for more.
I can count on one hand how many times in my life I’ve been impressed by a pizza… I usually leave them as a last option. We ordered the Mondo Veg today as an easy take away and oh my God, impressive. Even my meat-eater boyfriend is impressed. Tasty, crispy thin base, and the sundried tomatoes are delicious. And full of ingredients, no stingy chef here. I had already been a fan of Bella Roma for their aglio e olio pasta for years, now pizza approved too!
Food was fine but unfortunately very short staffed which we can appreciate but we had to ask to have our order taken as nobody came to the table and they forgot one of the drinks we ordered (only 2 of us). So can't give 5 stars but totally happy with the service we got based on them being stupid busy without enough staff.
Had Dinner here last night with 5 friend , meal was delicious and service fantastic , the young Lady that waited on our table was very attentive . It was a busy night there and we didn’t have to wait very long for the meals and they were steaming hot . I Had Tortellini which was yummy and all my friends were happy with theirs as well .
Chilli mussels heaven!!! They kindly catered to my dietary requirements and were so accommodating!
Had dinner here, we were with a large group and they made room, they set up the alley, great service - decent food. For just walking in with 15 people they did a fantastic job.
