This hidden gem is my new go to. Best Japanese in Fremantle! Fresh sashimi, great presentation and I love the salad and miso soup. They are all 10/10 and the staff are very friendly. I’ll keep coming back. Thank you!

Really delicious and reasonably priced! The salmon poke bowl was $13, and came with very fresh salmon cubes marinated in a tasty marinade. Generous amount of rice (we couldn't finish it!), only wish it came with slightly more veges. The yakiniku beef bento was only $12.50 + $3.30 for two extra little dishes of agedashi tofu, and tofu+marinated chicken in a sukiyaki flavoured broth. Very generous serving of beef that was tender and tasted like Japan. Will definitely be back :)

Best sushi I have had in Perth, this place is a hidden gem!

Friendly staff and great food. We really enjoyed the yakiniku beef and chicken roll. This is located in the same building as Coles and right next to a carpark and across from the train station.

We ordered Fish teriyaki and chicken teriyaki bento, and one udon for the dinner after a long trip from Kalbarri. Food portion was average enough with affordable price but the taste was just quite okay. Will be back if travelling to Fremantle again.

Hidden in a corner of a pretty average shopping centre, Oceans is busy and rightly so. Lovely service where they tell you how long the wait will be, very reasonable pricing and, importantly, great dishes. I chose the Teriyaki tofu and my friend had the chicken.

Delicious food, friendly service, child friendly, food comes very quickly, fair pricing, parking nearby (Coles parking). Love this place to bits!

This is my go-to when I feel like a good bento. I always order the deluxe bento in ginger chicken or teriyaki beef. The tofu chicken stew you get on the side is amazing! Even if you don’t like tofu this will convert you.

This is definitely a hidden gem of a Japanese restaurant. On the outside it does not look anything special but it is always busy during lunch. The service is fast and efficient. But the food is real tasty. I got to say this is one of the best bento places in Fremantle area.

Got the chicken katsu home delivered. Miso was still hot even on a freezing cold day. Chicken was nicely cooked and the salad and rice were just enough to fill me up. Came with two sachets of tonkatsu sauce  some mayo and a dab of mustard. Good value for the price.

The sushi is OK but it's similar to what you find in the supermarkets. There's a range of hand rolls and favourites such as teriyaki chicken, and not much competition in Freo, except for the supermarket!

Called in for lunch recently and had the Fish Teriyaki Bento Box. Considering that they were very busy my order arrived within 10 minutes. Unfortunately nothing too much for me to brag about. I've had a few bento boxes in my time and this one hits average on comparison. The fish was soggy, chewy and overcooked. Although the serving was very generous and the price very reasonable it lacked in quality. Maybe I just happened to go on an off day, I will give them the benefit of doubt and give them another try on another day.

Great place to grab a lunch of Japanese, whether it be sushi or one of their bento boxes. Prices aren't bad either, most of the bento boxes are about $12. Today I had the yakiniku beef box which came with rice, salad and miso soup. The sauce the beef was cooked in was good, nicely balanced of salty and sweet.

Oceans is an incredibly good value for money lunch spot. The food is delicious, quick and oh so cheap. It's ideal for lunch breaks. I normally pick between lunch box sets for teriyaki chicken, tempura and ginger fish. Service is efficient and decor is pretty basic. I always leave full and content.

While scouring the streets of Freo for a lunch feed with a uni mate who recently traveled around Japan, we weren't sure what to buy when I exclaimed "Sushi!" We then had a conversation on the best place to have Japanese in perth and Oceans was his quick reply.<br/><br/>Tucked away from the main cafe strip, it's not the most visually appealing restaurant and I was a bit doubtful about their food quality! But I was blown away. Having quite a taste for Japanese and a flare for dining in expensive places I was so happy in this small restaurant!<br/><br/>The service was great; fast and efficiently got our meals out! I decided on the chicken katsu and was surprised at the decent size of the meal for just $12.50!<br/><br/>The chicken was cooked perfectly with a super delicious batter that made it the most impressive katsu I've ever had. The bento box also contained a decent serving of rice, a small side salad and a nice bowl of miso!<br/><br/>Sometimes the appearance can be deceiving and I was totally fooled! The quality of food here is worthy of a inner city posh restaurant!

Regularly get takeaway sushi from here for lunch when in Freo. Super yummy and fresh, great prices and the meat in the sushi is a healthy amount. And they have EFTPOS!

My favourite place to get a bento box. The tofu bento box comes with rice, miso, salad and delicious tofu swimming in teriyaki sauce. The service is quick and friendly. The interior is small, and the shop is near the doors of the woolstores so if you sit near the windows there might be flys trying to escape on a hot day which can be easily avoided.

Our favorite Japanese place ever! We get take away from here every single Friday night and get so excited for it. Always fresh! Sushi is delicious (I have the seafood ones) their teriyaki tofu is YUM!!!! Bf always has chicken Katsu every time cuz it's his favorite. Wish it was in a nicer area than the crappy woolstore shopping centre so you don't feel like you're going to get murdered on your way out but apart from that it's the best ever!!!!

By far the best Japanese food I've had in Perth! Bento boxes are to die for! Such amazing authentic, rich and delicately complex flavours. Always balanced perfectly with cool fresh sides like crisp salads, dressings and shaved ginger. Consistently quick service and unbelievably cheap. I love this place and just keep coming back again and again!

I have been coming to Oceans for years, and never have I been disappointed. Great customer service, reasonable prices, and of course, absolutely amazing Japanese food! Best lunch spot in Freo!

Lovely and tasty Japanese. Very relaxed lunch spot. It's more take away than dining but the food was great. We had the lunch boxes with the extras and all of it was excellent. Worth a visit.

YUM!. Yum, yum, yum. For such a reasonable price, we enjoyed yummy set boxes that were to die for! We will be back! ***** 5 stars!

Ichi ban japanese food in Perth. This place has got to be the best Japanese restaurant in Perth metro. Affordable and good quality. Have been back twice and great food both times. Good quick service and diverse menu range.

Mmmm....Ginger Fish. My absolute favourite is the ginger fish which i have once or twice a week just love it and its always as good each and every time :)

Best bento!. Love the bento boxes here, particularly the katsu chicken. Even though we live NOR now have been known to make the trek over to grab one of these for dinner on occasion. Love that they actually grab a fresh piece of chicken out to crumb and cook instead of a bain-marie or similar and that they give you the whole bottle of bulldog sauce if you dine in so you can go nuts

Best Japanese in Freo. Eat here at least once a week, absolutely love it. I love the Curry and the Bentos are great too!!

Tried the deluxe bento box, absolutely amazing. Very nice Japanese restaurant in a shopping centre in Fremantle, not the best location for a restaurant, but the food and service do attract people to go for this one.

Quality Sushi. You know you have found a good sushi joint when the line is 20 metres long and out the door. Oceans is a simple little Japanese, with some of the best sushi I have tried in Perth. The Raw Tuna is easily a stand out and the fresh produce is what makes most of the diners return for more. Until next time ... 7/10.

Hands down best sushi in freo by a mile!!! Nowhere else even compares. Excellent quality, always amazing, good prices. It's a shame the other sushi spots in fremantle are located in the middle of town so therefore they get more business. Oceans deserves more credit and more cutomers than any of the other places. Cannot compliment this place enough!!!! Awesome staff too :)

Our family favourite takeout joint. Being a family of different tastes, everyone manages to get something they love. My favourite is the "ginger chicken box." The food tastes fresh and delicious.

Quality is Bad, the salmon sushi tasted terrible and ive been eating salmon sushi nearly daily for years: just never from here. They used packet smoked, instead of proper raw salmon and most of it was grey! Eww. I couldn't finish it and had to spit it out (which I've never done) cause it was so stringy and tasted like glue. I feel ripped off. It's expensive for the serves too! But unless you know good Japanese food the mainstream will like it. Don't order seafood from here... I'm sure the deep fried chicken is ok.

Always return.. All their dishes seem to be of a high standard. Never leave unhappy. Would like them to have a better sashimi selection, but their sushi is just fine.

Every time I visit ocean's I am extremely satisfied with my food. It's delicious and very well priced. Ocean's is a hidden gem in Fremantle.

Consistently Great Japanese Food. Whether a quick take away lunch or sit-down early dinner, Oceans delivers tasty, great quality food every time! Staff are quiet and courteous and the casual dining area is great when you have kids. One of our faves in Freo!
