Review Coast Port Beach - North Fremantle

We had our wedding at Coast and it was the best day of our lives. We had heard so many good things about the venue and the crew there so it was an easy choice for us. It is stunning in the event room and the decorations are beautiful. It suited our vibes as a couple. The people who work there and coordinate weddings are so lovely and welcoming. They went above and beyond to assist us before and on the day. They let us put up lights and drop stuff off the day before which was helpful. The food was delicious! Thank you to the crew at Coast for making our day so amazing! Daisy and AJ x

Went for a swim at the beach decided to have lunch at the Coast Port Beach instead of heading home. Fantastic location very relaxed atmosphere, food was divine, service was extremely prompt even though they were busy, very friendly staff. Big Thank-you to the chef for altering my order for my dietary needs my lunch was prefect even tried a mocktail yummy :) highly recommend

We went there for a drink on a Monday. The location is amazing with a panoramic ocean view. Drinks are nice and it’s modern inside as I’m not too into traditional pub. Really good vibe here and we will come back for sure!

The location is great, beach front with beautiful views over the ocean. A great place to meet up with friends and have some food, some space for kids to play and run about, and a nice beach vibe. The food was ok, the share platter nice, fish tacos ok. Service a little let down, felt staff weren't that interested or friendly. Overall would I go back, yes for the location and setting. Would I be loomi g forward to the food or sri ks there probably mehhh... Staff/service, well let's say we drew lots to see who had to go up to deal with the staff. The decor - plants were nice but felt overall hodgepodge of dwcoragion/clutter could be improved and tidied up. Had great potential and there was a slight frustration they weren't maximising their obvious potential.

Fish and chips on a Friday. Great value and generous portions. Friendly staff. The view is not bad either.

Really beautiful location and the building makes the most of the location with large windows all the way along the beach side. It has a nice relaxed beachy vibe with eclectic decor like artistically hung fishing nets and bouys. There's an outdoor seating area too, with high table and barstools. I arrived at around 2.30, so unfortunately was not able to order from the normal menu (full kitchen closed at 2), I could only get chips or pizza, and drinks. The chips were good, steak house cut and well fried. The service was friendly and efficient. At that time we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. There's a big parking lot with easy access to the building and also the beach in front of the building. The beach is lovely and flat with a good expanse of very fine sand.

Beautiful view at the restaurant. Food was good especially the chips, they are amazing!!!! Definitely recommend.

Prett amazing to be able to sit down and watch the sunset with such a great view! Food was fast and staff were friendly! Highly recommend for a thirty dollar meal with million dollar views!

First time i came here. The place was nice, it has beach view so you can enjoy the beach while eating or drinking here. We ordered chips and it’s turn out very nice and crisp.

Overall a pretty bad experience, went for dinner and drinks, seated in a tiny area- squished like sardines, the cocktails were horrible watermelon and mint - it was watermelon flavoring tasted very artificial , service was terrible .<br/>No water on tables we had to ask then had to ask for glasses<br/>The DIY tacos tasted like they were cooked 2 weeks ago<br/>Unfortunately wont be coming back , nor recommending to anyone

Went to this lovely scenic cafe for breakfast, before having a swim.<br/><br/>Fresh Pressed Apple Juice.. is anything but. Correct me if im wrong, but it was just a standard apple juice from Coles in a bottle, then poured into our glasses.<br/><br/>Pancakes with Butter & Maple Syrup.. absolutely no butter given, so we asked for some. The girl made it sound like such a chore and would go see if they had any. She came back with one small packet. So we asked a young guy for some more - he went and got another 2. Great :)<br/><br/>Someone else at the table asked for some butter for their toast.. the same young guy who bought one of us the 2 butters just pointed to those 2 butters and said 'There's 2 there' and walked off... yeah whatever mate, its clearly too hard for you to grab us another so we will just share 3 tiny butters between a table of 4 people.<br/><br/>Scrambled Eggs & Bacon.. they were ok. Cant complain too much but they werent really that great either. There was no butter, but luckily i ordered a side of Feta, so just used this instead.<br/><br/>Long Mac Topped Up... came out basically out as an espresso. With a cafe being basically in Freo, surely they should know what coffees are meant to be like. It also came with no sugars, and none on our table, and also no saucer & teaspoon.<br/><br/>All in all.. the food was fine. The service for simple things was however severely lacking.<br/><br/>

Grouse pizzas....reminded me of the Bali holidays at hotels with poolside pizzas.....cold beers and perfect outlook onto beach.....music grouse as well...

Yesterday's lunch time was our first visit to Coast restaurant.<br/><br/>It is a great venue, with an amazing location - there is a nice view of the ocean throughout the whole place. A part of the venue has glass wall protecting customers from the wind which is great for when it gets a bit cooler, while there is still a possibility to sit outside on the patio if you wish to enjoy the breeze while having a sip of your favorite drink.<br/><br/>You order everything at the bar, serve youself with tap water and there is a section where you can serve yourself with cutlery.<br/><br/>We initially wanted to order fish and chips and Angus steak for us to share but after a recommendation from the bartender we opted for two $10 fish and chips instead of the one from the menu as they were smaller portions, and the steak.<br/><br/>All the meals came with nice crispy chips. Fish and chips were good size for a special and came with a delicious homemade tartare sauce. The only thing we really didn't enjoy from our mains was the fish itself as both our pieces were completely dry and without any flavour. Not really sure what happened there but that definitely caught us by surprise considering it is a beach side restaurant.<br/><br/>There was a lack of service on that occasion as nobody came to check on our food, and we were a bit surprised that nobody came and cleared off the dirty plates from our table even though we stacked them up and pushed them to the side after we finished our mains.<br/><br/>Dessert was definitely the best part of the meal. We ordered a chocolate mouse dessert that came out looking fantastically - like a small chocolaty island surrounded by amaretti sand. Very creative and very delicious.<br/><br/>Would recommend this venue for dessert, catching up with friends or colleagues over a drink or coffee, or having a cup on your own while enjoying the lovely ocean breeze.

Pertfect views and a real good option for a summers day. Menus simple and easy and food came out in a flash. Tacos plate were filling enough although no jalapenos or cheese but plenty of hot sauces. Good experience and will gladly go back just to soak up the views.

4.5/5 stars for food<br/>2.5 stars for service, staff were friendly but scarce. Waited 15 plus minutes to order while the wait staff had a social chat with the kitchen staff. We were the only customers.<br/>1 star for the small $5 “coffee” aka very watery milk with no taste of coffee :/
Justin
Ridiculously priced for the lack of ingredients on the pizzas. Had the seafood pizza, which had 1 scallop, a few pieces of squid & 3 prawns on it. With the current trend towards cheap pints happening around Perth, It shows how much we are being ripped off when this places charges $9 for a schooner.

Excellent for the food, drinks, view, atmosphere, and service. The managers and staff were so helpful and accommodating. We had a great wedding reception here.
Perth Food Lovers
One of the best places to go for a drink with a view of Perth’s southern beaches. Great vibes, food came out really quick. Fantastic service, love the double Denim uniforms!

The fish and chips are amazing! Chips were perfectly seasoned and the fish was nice and crispy on the outside. Can’t beat the view and the service was spot on too.
Tracy
Best location in Perth with unfortunately the worst Margarita I have even been not blessed with. How hard is it to make a Margarita? It has 3 main ingredients for goodness sake. Tequila, triple sec and lime juice!! Get rid of the sugar please, it was soooo sickly it made my husband ill.
THE ILLUSIVE FEMME
Nice atmosphere, great location. Pizza is super - so fresh and beautiful selection of toppings. Cocktails were so good. Decent prices too. Great for a big group. Will be back.
Sandhya1814
Been here twice by now. Both times service have been good, cant complain. Food and drinks came quick. Ambience: facing the beach and watching the waves is jus amazing. Will come here for drinks and snacks.

$7.00 for this regular sized iced coffee?! Asked for an Iced Coffee extra shot on this beautiful warm day as I really felt like a cooling pick me up after laying on the beach. They then tell me that they have ran out of full cream milk and stated they only had skim left. It was 1230pm. As there was no option but to say yes, we agreed, and then asked if they had sugar syrup, which they didn't either but they offered vanilla syrup which I didn't want that flavour in my coffee so I declined. They also suggested ice cream and I didn't want that. The iced coffee order arrives and the lid didn't even fit the cup so I don't understand why the bothered to put it on in the first place!! It spilled over as I tried to stir it which is when I discovered the lid didn't actually go with the cup! I asked if they had a smaller lid which they said they didn't. They continued to state that they had recently changed their cup sizes and the lids will be coming soon..... I don't care!!! That doesn't help me today! I can't drive with this in my car if it's gonna spill everywhere!! So I had to stand by the car to drink some which tasted awful by the way with no sugar syrup and skim milk. Tasted like cold water with coffee in it. I couldn't believe I just paid $7.00 for it. NEVER again! Lift your game COAST! The boom is over number one and two, sort your shit out before selling a product that you can't cater for and make up for with a bad alternatives. I'm angry and this is why they get a low score cause when you crave something and it's not delivered you're disappointed and that's what I am feeling right now!

Lovely venue on the beach, but thats where it stopped. Sticky tables and dirty....had to ask for a cloth to clean myself. Slow staff and not really wanting to be bothered.<br/>Menu is standard...nothing exciting. Food orders start at 12 to be told that the steak sandwhich is sold out....but you just opened food service??<br/>Chips soggy....fish over battered....taco's lackluster.<br/>Its like this place opened and are bankrolling off the oceans view.....<br/>Put some effort in! <br/>Not reccomending

The place looks the part but that's about it .Very negative experience Couldn't get coffee order right . No flexibility on menu .. can't get extra egg etc. No plan eggs blah

We went  to Coast this evening and it was  perfect- the view is sensation  and while we watched  a beautiful sunset, we had  fish and chips which were the best fish and chips we  unanimously  have ever had, and remarkable value on a Thursday night at $15.The service was impeccable with very friendly and professional staff. The décor is beautiful<br/>We will be definitely be going back.<br/>Thanks Coast- our new  favourite!

Great views. Another common Perth experience of uninspiring food at high prices. Had the chicken and lentils - a tasteless affair. The meal was quickly put together with no care. My partner had the lamb korma and rice at $26 which was swimming in ghee. Friendly service. Won't be singing any praises.

Great position, nice décor, menu pretty average for a hipster joint, however, unless you are deaf, be warned the music is loud and intrusive, made our ears bleed. When we asked the bartender if it was possible to turn the music down he informed us it was not his remit someone over the "other side" was responsible, as I felt it was not up to me to find this person we drank up and left. I assume he knows little about the hospitality industry and that the main premise is to look after the customer. We would have eaten and had another couple of drinks, but given that our patronage was not at all valued, we left and I doubt we will return

Tried the brunch menu here Saturday morning and we were very glad we did. The whole venue just makes you feel like you are on holidays and that view... the pictures say it all. The menu is not your usual egg, bacon and toast but don't be put off with the unusual food options and names it was all delicious..... the coffee wasn't bad either. I'll most defiantly be back to check out the sunset and stone baked pizza that the lovely waitress recommended.
Louise Hodgson
Top notch for a casual lunch by the sea. The beer battered fries were decadent, my squid was delicious and my husband loved his ceasar salad. Above all, we enjoyed the ambience of alfresco dining in the perfect autumn sunshine over looking the torquoise ocean. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

Coast was a very beautiful premise located right next to the beach at North Fremantle. It was a bright and calm afternoon when I went there and I was able to get a good view of the sunset. The whole place gave a really relaxing feel. I had my dinner at the Cargo Bar area and there were some cozy lounge chairs there with a direct view to the beach. It was a good spot to do some work or even read a book. From Cargo Bar, you will be spoilt with good view wherever you look too. There's also a balcony area that will be a great hangout space when the weather is great.

Lovely location, friendly fast staff & service . Food & drink yummy! Best sweet potato fries I've eaten...and I've eaten a few! We will be back

Went to Coast for a birthday lunch. Stood at the bar for ages, was ignored while staff gossiped about other customers saying they 'hated picky people' when a lady requested for a certain food to be left off her meal. Also constantly complained about hating their job. Not very professional to complain in front of other paying customers! Same staff member also stole a handful of our chips out of our bowl when serving us! Super unprofessional! <br/>We then ordered an extra piece of naan bread which took 30 minutes to arrive, well after we had finished eating. <br/>Normally not one to complain but poor service on top of below average, overpriced food was a huge disappointment, especially when you have such an incredible venue.
Shauna Halliday
Nice outlook and vibe. I found the meals to be small and overpriced, although the pizza we had was quite good. What I really object to is being served our meals in aluminium and enamel baking ware rather than proper crockery. Also I walk regularly from Port Beach to Cottesloe and back and have been here  number of times with a friend, just for coffee and cake. The only cups they have are cappucino type shallow cups and saucers, so each time I have ordered a hot chocolate I have had to have it in a take away cup even though dining in. (and no marshmallows. What's that all about?) For goodness sake, get some proper mugs.

We came here twice in one day - first for brunch and then for a drink after a day of swimming.<br/><br/>The brunch dishes all had a Malaysian favour which was nice. I had the murtabak pancake that I enjoyed, although a little bit of something fresh with it would have been nice to give the dish some balance. <br/><br/>Friendly staff, solid coffee and fantastically designed interior - I liked the soft chairs facing the window and the 18+ bar area in the back. Water mist cooling system throughout the place which made it nice and cool on a hot day. <br/><br/>Yes it's a bit expensive but look where you are - the view out the window is amazing.

Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we weren't allowed to sit at the lounges with ocean views because we had a baby with us. The lounges remained empty for the entirety of our visit. Visitors with children are relegated to a segregated area yet still pay the same prices as the other patrons who can choose where they sit. Won't be going back.

The renos are nice but it seems nothing has changed here since it was Salt on the Beach. Same shitty food, unfriendly- almost rude staff, inflexible menu.... no screaming kids now though. <br/>A real shame... the beach is beautiful it has fabulous potential.
Michelle
The view at sunset is pretty great. <br/>The food is decent; the pizzas are nice, as is the naan bread. The staff were mostly friendly, except for one guy who, when one of our group flagged him down to ask about the ingredients in one of the dishes, said he didn't know and was too busy to find out.

Beautiful view but worst breakfast menu..... Really ....how many people know to eat this type of food for breakfast? <br/>Murtabak - Malay savory pancakes $14<br/>Nasi Goreng Kampung $14 was tasty but too wet.<br/>Roti Chenai $12 was BUY IN FROZEN.... DISAPPOINTED 👎👎👎👎👎<br/>Ciabatta loaf with jam (sweet) or dhal / avocado (savory) <br/>Where is the normal breakfast like Bacon and eggs???? <br/>Flat white was not bad. Service average. <br/>Place like this, they should do much better. Very disappointed.<br/>

Worst breakfast we've ever had. Waited 45 minutes for a stale piece of toast for $16 (one of only 4 very unusual options). Terrible cold atmosphere and service. Will not be returning
Randomdude1111
I would prefer to eat my own shoe than another dish served by the coast chef. Diabolical.

Music  too loud - we go to chat and eat with friends not to listen to the music, particularly over weekday lunch - ever heard of background music?<br/>Staff inattentive - Have someone  at least notice people on entry.<br/>Staff dress - males: highly appropriate  females: totally inappropriate (really short shorts -Not for everyone!)<br/>Food - Limited choice (Also don't know what the Chef was thinking with the sweet potato chips - he/she should have known this would be a soggy offering. They need to be very fine to create a crunch.<br/>Also what is with no food service during 3-5pm - That is so Perth!<br/>Beverages - Prices are top heavy.<br/>Interior design - like many Perth venues it has the big open Barn style which is not good for any form of entertaining other than perhaps an Indian Wedding<br/>After all this - Congratulations on the adults only area and the view from there!<br/><br/>Good luck - you may need it if you are not flexible enough to meet customer requirements.

What a shame. We had great service, i love the reno, there is an incredible view and vibe so why ruin it with overpriced food! :( We could not beleive the $21 pork bun dish contained TWO only that had to be put together yourself. My friend also said the pork was a bit too fatty. Surely the squid ($19.50) would be value but no.....looked like an entree serve and you had to order chips separately. And those previous reviews about the simple iceberg lettuce were spot on :( I tried the Pokey Salad $19 (raw tuna, avo, red onion etc) which did taste nice but once again tiny. I didn't try the pizza on our table but it looked good. The pregnant one was excited to see a range of mocktails but for $8 the watermelon based one was not fresh watermelon and served in a very small tumbler glass. Do they still have Little Dove? I couldn't see it on tap. Would return only for a beer & view. Wine was a bit exy too for a casual bar...
Christine Sutherland
Disappointed in this Replacement of SALT. expensive for the amount of food you are served. $19.50 for a tiny plate of squid??? Service was ok buy could be improved. Pizza was good.

Don't believe the menu on the website.  Five of us went there today and the meals we predecided to have weren't available anymore the smallest selction of meals we have ever come across at a restaurant..  The meals don't come with any sides so we asked for Sweet Potato Fries that were on the menu to help compliment the meal but they didn't have them either.  We then asked if they have bread and guess what they don't have any type of bread either.  My $19.50 small plate of tough squid came with sliced up lettuce like in my grandmothers salad days.  Went and looked at the sweets selection and it was the most sparse and uninteresting lot of sweets we have ever seen.  We are a group of five who won't be back.  Yes the view is great but you could park in the car park and see the view and not have to pay for a substandard meal

My two mates and I went to coast for lunch yesterday. I'd been there for drinks but never for food and will never again! Firstly the menu just doesn't make sense it doesn't know what it is with Indian, fish and chips, pizzas and spring rolls??? We had the prawns - couldn't eat them and the chopped up iceberg lettuce in a box with them was very pedestrian. Spring rolls ordinary, squid average and fish and chips nothing to write home about. Really really disappointing! I asked to set up a tab with the guy behind the bar who wasn't really interested in being there and he took my card didn't ask for my table number and said we don't have any tab cards yet... how hard is it to make up some tab cards really?? <br/>We had to ask the staff to clear our food, clean the table and none seemed very interested. We spoke to one of the barmaids about the food and she agreed that it was crap amd that they had told management but nothing has changed. <br/>We were so disappointed as we had high expectations after the debacle that was salt prior. What a shame as the venue itself is great, the view brilliant but that's as far as it goes. Someone needs to overhaul the menu as it's shite! <br/>Verdict...don't bother!
Rhiannon
Great service and an absolutely gorgeous scenery! The menu itself is nice but keep in mind it is a pub so the menu isn't too creative or life changing in my opinion. Both the sweet potato and beer battered chips were top notch, unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of them before they were quickly devoured. We mostly order the beef burger and fish and chips at our table and both were delicious. Someone at the table didn't think the onion rings which came with the burger were good but they seemed okay to the rest of us, we all have different tastes. The non alcoholic drink options for mocktails could do with some extensions because there are only 3 and they don't suit a wide range of people, especially since many who order may be underage and the flavours in each are particularly to a child's palette (eg. Ginger, chilli, salt rim on different drinks etc) but the drinks were nice, as you'd expect though ridiculously overpriced but so are most places in Perth. <br/>Would go back primarily for the atmosphere and good service as well as the nice food.

My partner, little boy and I visited coast a few weeks ago. I had heard all about the hype and have been waiting for a long time for the re-opening of the old Salt On The Beach.<br/>I absolutely adore this place, the venue layout is done substantially well and the ocean view is perfect. <br/>We were shoved in the back away from the rest of the world because we had a child with us, but I won't complain because I know a lot of children can be rather distracting and with the proof of the children running around with food in hand and the mothers after them with wine in their hand, can you really say it's always unfair? I don't believe so. <br/>The food we ordered was wonderfully presented and tasted beautiful, I like that it has more of a tapas feel about it, rather than a "fish and chips" sole vibe.<br/>The drinks list is wonderful and the staff are nice, apart from the girl at the door. Blonde and abrupt, she could drop the bitch act! <br/>I think the croquettes were a liiiiittle dry, but all that needed was a little extra sauce on the side :)<br/>I cannot wait to return too enjoy the real side of Coast, I look forward too a pint and a sunset... thank you for doing such a good revamp!!
MF
Best view in Perth. So beautiful right on the beach. Everything was just right. I like being able to prepay for your meal. The staff were friendly and the wait wasn't long. Delicious food. Plentiful choice. Fantastic cocktail. And the coffee was good too.<br/>... Been back a few times and it's still great - the food is really good - no complaints
Michael Chester
The wait for the refurbishment of Salt has been worthwhile! Luv the new venue - refreshed, revitalised and rejuvenated!<br/><br/>Constructive feedback: In this day and age, how is it that GF options on a menu are limited to olives or oysters? Really? As a coeliac, this is incredibly disappointing since it basically limits me to drinking at this venue, rather than enjoying all that it has to offer from a food, drink and ambience experience. So when my friends ask "Where should we go for lunch?" - Coast won't come to mind. Shame.
Steve Brewster
Perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon/evening!<br/><br/>Very good tap selection (I highly recommend the Coast Rose on tap for $8!). <br/><br/>Food: Great portion sizes, taste and value.<br/><br/>Very friendly & attentive staff.<br/><br/>Can't beat this classic Fremantle beach view! <br/><br/>Highly recommend!
Kristal O'Halloran
Don't go here if you have kids, they won't let you sit near the view and allocate you to a special section for us second class citizens! Not a place for families. Shame.
Roger Bean
What an amazing venue.!<br/>It has been turned into a pub that does great food. An eclectic mix that has something for everyone. <br/>Cant fault the service as they do order at the bar, which is great and well suited to the casual relaxed incredible beachside bar atmosphere.<br/>Come for the food, die for the view. <br/>Doesnt get any better than this...
Shiane
My advice - don't look any further. This venue is amazing! The best ocean view ever, great food and music. The place is huge and has everything for everyone. It managed right away to take the first place in our top chart venues.
Esther
Great interior fit out and relaxed feel. Terrible customer service on numerous occasions. Rude staff. Below average food. Would not eat here again.
Darrenhulme182
Don't take or kids, as this is NOT a family friendly venue!<br/><br/>Went to check out what the Hype over Freo's newest beachside venue, on Sunday for lunch..<br/>As we walked in carrying our 10month old, we were approached by a staff member, who told us that 'families' were being seated in one section of the venue, telling us it's a quieter and nicer area for the kids.<br/><br/>When we got to that area, and asked for a high chair, we were told flatly 'no, we don't have those!'<br/><br/>Honestly, I can understand having a separate section, but if you don't cater for families or kids at all, TELL US WHEN WE WALK IN, or even better, ADVERTISE IT ON YOUR WEBSITE! <br/><br/>Even when I'm kid free, won't be spending my money at this place..
Amber
Hands down amazing, such a good relaunch just in time for the summer season. Beautiful views, spacious layout, and delicious menu. Reasonably priced too. Beautiful decor but relaxed and unpretentious. <br/><br/>You can roll in after the beach, with or without the kids, or dressed for a Saturday night or Sunday sesh. <br/><br/>The interior decor is beach house coastal, reminded me of The Cott mixed with Watsons Bay Hotel (in Sydney). One of the smartest rebrandings I've seen in a long time.<br/><br/>This place is going to go off this summer 👌🏼
Skmazzucato
We used to go there when it was called salt , was a great family restaurant then . Went there tonight after it has been renovated for the last 9 mths , great job , beautiful setting , food was delicious, very prompt service , all in all a lovely evening with the wonderful view of the ocean , will definitely go again . The only down side was that it was previously a family place not sure if it will have the same draw for young families as before , didn't seem that child friendly as it was in the past
Erica Clarke
Great location, wonderful views which is the best thing about this place. <br/>Gorgeous seafood platter which we shared. However felt let down by the take away coffee cups ( not good for a restaurant which charges restaurant prices) , the lack of side plates for our share platter and the forgetting of my dessert ( my husband received his and had finished eating it before mine arrived) and I had to ask for it three times! <br/>Also music far too loud and spoilt the ambience of the place. <br/>Maybe just teething problems....<br/>A lot of room for improvement.
Kate
Our new favourite. Best squid we have had in a long time. Some minor teething problems however considering how many 100's of people were eating there they did well. Staff very friendly and kept customers updated. Great menu and choice of drinks. Very few places have better views.

The second warm day in Perth, I was craving some sand, beach and fish. Where to go? Thankfully I was alerted the day before of a new opening at the old Salt on the Beach venue, now called Coast Port Beach. I headed down to North Freo, and eventually found a carpark; everyone was out to enjoy the sun and surf! I arrived at just before 12, their official opening hour, and discovered a que at the two entrances. I lined up as well. A few minutes late, the manager opened the doors, and gave us all a quick run-down on their new establishment; their third day of trading. They are a tavern and welcome everyone including thongs and beach gear!<br/><br/>I found a seat with a view. It is a huge place with many different dining options both in the interior courtyard or one of the many different rooms or terraces. Service is at the counter where you note the table number or one of the many bars; I counted three bars, but there may have been more. But how do you keep your seat when dinning solo especially when the hall had filled so quickly with many people looking for seats? I put my sunnies on top the strategically placed menu card and hoped my table would remain mine (I left my sunnies reluctantly I have to admit). Service was friendly. I ended up at the food counter and so had to then go to the bar to get my drink. The line was quite large, so decided to get some water from the shell fountain. I placed this on top of my menu and soon my green olives arrived. They were fresh and delicious.<br/><br/>I decided to brave the bar line, leaving my olives and sunnies behind. It took a little while for service as there was still a line. Finally I had my turn. I ordered the Chablis from Burgundy, France. Upon arrival back at my table I discovered my baby snapper had arrived. But not cutlery, so had to go back to the counter to ask where I might find these. They were stored at a station near the kitchen with the salt and pepper grinders. Perhaps these are best placed on tables to make things easier. The snapper was a perfectly cooked and wonderfully paired with the wine I choose. I ventured out to the counter again to order some sweet potato crisps with chili sauce and sour cream. I finished my snapper dish, and left that to side, and got another drink from another bar. Service was quicker here, but discovered that someone was about to take my table and then discovered my things there; thankfully! Headed back with my drinks and enjoyed the crispy chips that arrived soon afterwards.<br/><br/>I’m not too keen with the counter/bar service especially when there are lines, and when you may end up losing your table; I found that a little stressful! But, the food and drinks were good, and the view, well, the view was special. I could almost hear the crashing waves if it were not for the fairly loud noise of the venue.  I know this place will improve once they have ironed out their minor issues, but all in all a nice lunch with excellent views.
