Review The Old Civic - Frenchs Forest

Nice place to hangout with friends but coffee doest taste too good here personally. Maybe just because of the barista!

Friendly, smiley, comfortable customer service. Good variety of seats outside, by the window, away from the window, high or low tables. Great menu, the food is tasty and prepared well. Cappucino was perfect; no bubbles, smooth strong taste, and not stingy on the chocolate! Nice cafe music playing.

Excellent coffee. Almond milk available. Such nice staff! Lovely toasty. Jan 2019 they have/had $9.90 for coffee and toasty. So good! Nice atmosphere. Also attached to the shopping, it is a completely separate cafe. Plenty of parking.

Coffee here has been absolutely shocking the 3-4 times I've been. Brekky burrito is poorly wrapped and difficult to eat. Binned.

I didn't get a choice of sauce on my egg and bacon roll but it turned out to be a very nice spicy tomato sauce .generous serving .good coffee staff are nice

Really good meeting place, good for the causal business meeting or catching up with an old mate. Good food, decent cuppa coffee. Used to be a massive vibe but service has gone down hill over the years.

Super friendly staff and very comfortable seating in the cafe! They use campos for their coffee - always a favourite of mine, just not the biggest fan of the taste of almond breeze milk though. Would come back in the future to try their food!

Plenty of seating options at this cafe located at the FRENCHS Forrest shopping centre. It has alfresco seating facing the car park. The fitout is on trend with current newly turned out cafes. Read rustic industrial.

Only could comment on our coffees as no food was ordered. As this place uses Campos beans makes it easier to rate. Coffee arrive with chocolate dusted on top without coffee art. Texture of the milk for the cappacino was creamy throughout and good consistency. Temperature was right for me though my son thought his could be warmer, His was a flat white. Some sweetness came through and flavour of the coffee came through ok. On par with other cafes serving Campos I suppose.

This used to be a civic video shop ages ago until the inevitable digital march mowed it down. Hence its name. Quite inventive, wouldnt you say?

Only after ordering n paid for my double macc did i realize they use campos coffee (face palm*). However, by 1st sip, it tasted less in my face than other cafes which use campos. Perhaps they use a different campos blend or the barista is more skilled here.

Review based solely on coffee.

I've been here a couple of times, and the coffee has been great. The food here works well, an American/Mexican take on brunch. I had The Boss, which was a generous serving size, but a tad oily. Some of the other dishes, for e.g. the NY bagel look better presented than what I picked. The scarcity of decent cafes in the Forest area is what makes this cafe popular, it has decent food but not amazing when compared to cafe hotspots such as Newtown, CBD or even Chatswood. Friendly staff :)

One of my favourite breakfast & lunch spots. Sometimes quite busy and difficult to park though. Worth trying the huevos locos for breakfast and the burgers for lunch.

Called in to The Old Civic at Arndale Shopping Centre, Frenchs Forest, I highly recommend this place, the food was excellent, I had scrambled eggs with fresh avocado, it was a really generous serve. Hubby had The Boss, which was eggs, sausages, mushrooms, avocado, bacon and sourdough toast, very generous serving and to top it off the coffee was good and the service was excellent.

The Old Civic’s retro styling and trendy open plan decor is a welcome addition to Forestway Shopping Centre. You’ll be hard pressed to find anything like it in the area. It’s a popular hang out for mums and bubs during the week, who love the toy corner and the creative kids menu. If you are a fan of Americana fare such as hot dogs, burgers, pulled pork and Huevos Rancheros, you are in for a treat here!

From the outside The Old Civic looks a treat with its retro styling and open space and inside it has typical modern Americana fare; burgers, burritos, hot dogs as well as a the ubiquitous pulled-pork roll that any self-respecting modern diner needs to have these days. I have had the chance to eat there twice and it is a busy and popular place.

Went here today for lunch - we are from out of the area and can only wish we had something like this in our area of Sydney. Open for brekky and lunch, its not pretending to be anything its not. Very affordable, great choice (felt like a mix of American with the burgers and Mexican with burritos and soft tacos). Was no surprise that it was basically full for the whole couple of hours we sat around catching up with friends with people coming and going all the time. Loved it!

Fantastic food and the best coffee in Sydney. Friendly staff with great smiles. Love the breakfasts, the cakes (especially), the music. Recommend The Old Civic for sure.

Sydney has seen an explosion of burger joints. Some are good, some not so good. This burger is one of the better ones.

There seems to be a retro obsession at the moment in the Sydney dining scene with tuckshops, milkbars and diners popping up all over the place. These places are the home of dude food, hot diggity dawgs, wings, burgers, awesome fries and even more awesome milkshakes. And all of this food is ideal tucker for kiddliwinks as long as you remember to hold the chilli sauce! Located on the outside of the Forestway Shopping Centre, The Old Civic offers a welcome respite after navigating one of the most frustrating car parks I think we have ever come across. It took us a good 20 minutes to find our spot on the roof and this was mainly due to the fact that the car park is so POORLY designed. We climbed down the stairs from the roof top car park and arrived at The Old Civic just before lunch time, which turned out to be a smart move on our part. Breakfast is served until 11.30am and lunch begins service at 12.00pm. So our arrival at 11.45am meant that there were some spare tables - the breakfast

Same old civic.... I hadn't been to the civic since it opened due to mixed experiences. I ordered the eggs benedict and asked for ham and spinach. Apparently ( even though the menu doesn't mention it) you have to pay an extra $4 for more than one choice Costing me 19 for eggs benedict! I don't even pay that in manly! Overpriced for what they offer. Sadly the area does not offer much choice or options
