Review Hispanic Mechanic - Frewville

Had a little bit of everything from small bites to their bigger plates; chicken wings were tasty and the sauce was delicious. Only thing was the waitress took our plates too fast so couldn't really get more dips lol. Tacos were tasty and crispy. Pork belly taco was a little dry for my liking. Also ordered their feijoada as main after missing Brazil so much. The beans could be softer. Pork belly and chorizo were tender. Had a bite of my friend's fish taco, I recommended that too!

Great ambiance and setting, fits large groups, make sure you book as it gets very busy. Fusion mexican cuisine. Crispy rolled up tacos with beef brisket wrapped in it. Tasty with the guac dressing. Perfrct size for entree. The pork belly taco is the best, the meat so tender and has a good fat and meat ratio. The crispy kingfish taco was not very crispy. Flavour was alright. The mains beef ribs were deliciously smoked and pairs well with the mashed potatoes. It's not as tender due to its smoked preparation, but its still good. Would love to have more of the sauce on it. Overall food was great, but on the pricey side.

Beautiful place with great indoor and outdoor seating. The ambiance and Deco is lovely and the food is delicious. Dancing daikon has many tasty vegan options!

Came for dinner with my son who is vegan and loves Mexican cuisine We started with a nachos which they veganized for us. Was generous for the 2 of us ,cornchips were nice and crispy and the spice coating had a real zing to it. Tacos followed...the kingfish was my favourite... a real flavour explosion. I also had the smokey chicken and a famous KFC( Korean Fried Cauliflower). My son also had a vegan stuffed chilli dish which I was too full to even taste. This is not El cheapo style pile on the cheese Mexican...attention is given to all the ingredients to create varied and interesting flavours...all my 3 vegan kids love the vegan menu here and I enjoy those dishes as well . Only issue was the online booking had all the outdoor tables full and yet half empty all night

Atmosphere was great, good drinks, food was a bit bland but still except able. Really good dessert.

Very good but I didn't know that the food was a fusion between Mexican and Korean cucine. I thought that was only Mexican but the food was still pretty good, nothing amazing but good.

This is a MUST visit. Really enjoyed our event here. The “Vegastation” event was really well done. Essentially a Vegan event from the same crew as the Vegan festival.. It’s great to visit FUN and themed venues with creative attention to detail. The staff were friendly, professional and helpful. The drinks and food menu was plentiful and seemed to be something for everyone. In this day and age,,catering for the Dietary requirements of Vegteraians, Vegans, Lactose free, etc is a given and will always add value and credibility to a Food business. If it’s done well, these people are willing to travel and pay a reasonable price to be accommodated for. The Hispanic has a Plant based menu and fun our has it even a dedicated Vegan kitchen.. The amenities were clean and Covid requirements easy and in line with current requirements. We will definitely be adding this one to our list of places to return to and will keep an eye on the socials for events. Thanks again and look forward to returning again soon. 🍴👏🏼 😃

The food was amazing. I dined with five friends and we were all impressed and keen to return soon. The beef rib was as it should be for slow cooked - it just fell off the bone. Great area with indoor and outdoor dining. Great vegan menu. You must visit.

Before I write this review I would like to mention, it was probably our mistake to get there 20 mins before the closing. But we did ask the lady on the phone before we came in if shes fine with it and that there are no impositions of any sorts. She dint show any hesitation but when we got there..the food is horrendous to begin with, 12 dollars for one tortilla! 26 dollars for a main which comprises a bag of raw baby spinach, raw cherry tomatoes, mashed potatoes and a chicken breast! And to top it off after the the check was processed, the lady server asked if I needed a receipt to which I politely agreed and she goes... "sure! You may want to confirm tomorrow morning that you Indeed did eat here!"<br/>I was outraged by this comment as its clearly none of her business! I dont know where that came from, sure not hospitable there!

Four of us had a great assortment of dishes. As there were 2 vegans in our group we selected a number of outstanding vegan dishes plus a delicious duck selection. Will definitely return. <br/>

I’ve been wanting to visit this place for so long and quite frankly it just wasn’t worth it. The atmosphere is super inviting, a large range of seating areas available. The staff are quite friendly. The let down was the food. It was very underwhelming. And the portions of each element in a dish were stupidly small. In fact on quite a few dishes I don’t think even had all the ingredients! Just a bit disappointed.

Super fast service food was on table seemingly in seconds of ordering - all meals were flavoursome and a good size - we shared which is recommended - dessert was fabulous - our waiter was really friendly and helpful

This place is absolutely awesome. Great atmosphere, heaps of options for seating (outside, by the bar, inside, relaxed deep chairs by the outdoor wood fire pizza oven), and fantastic service. The food is fabulous. I don’t think we could have ordered a dish that we didn’t love. And the nachos are hands down the best I’ve had ever...that’s a big call, but they are a must to order if you come here! <br/>Thank you Hispanic mechanic for a great lunch with friends... we will be back!

Very interesting food, quite nice, very creative, well cooked and quick to table. A little expensive, some meals not that big. Can highly recommend.

Food was awesome!!!!! I don’t think it’s authentic Mexican food though but still tasted great! Not five stars tho because some dishes were a bit too salty and overall the place is a bit expensive.

Fantastic place for a catch up with family and friends ... Good tasty food .. most importantly affordable. The only disappointment was their lobster taco which was on their specials... The lobster didn't taste as fresh as I'd expect it to be .. but overall a really nice experience and really good service ..

A very busy restaurant. We dined early with two kids and their meals came out within 7mins. They loved their food. But the nachos had hardly any cheese or any other topping. To be charged $13 was a rip off(photo below). No burritos but plenty of different tacos to try.

Not convinced on the hype....amazing decor, great drinks list. Top ambience.<br/><br/>Service was pushy and impersonal. I work in hospitality, i know that a group of young twenty somethings on a Friday night are gonna be pretty keen for a fun night. Our older waiter looked like he'd rather be anywhere but with us. He was so disinterested in making it enjoyable.<br/><br/>Food was hit and miss. Nachos delicious. Generous serve and tasty. Definitely needed extra sauce though- avocado wouldn't have gone astray...<br/><br/>Tacos yum, but waiters recommendation of two a person was a joke. You'd need at least 3 to fill up.<br/><br/>Vegetarian enchiladas were so bland and boring. Non descript, mushy filling and the weirdest almost tasteless sauce.<br/><br/>Majority of the table found meals on either end of the spectrum. Great or boring. No real in between.<br/><br/>Dessert good, the tres leche cake was rich and filling. House juice also fantastic. The lobster taco special had a little too much going on.<br/><br/>Work on the flavors and service and you'd have a winner. But unless the chef or menu change, I won't be back.

Hispanic Mechanic is a Latin American and Korean fusion restaurant; the ambience there was really nice, both outdoors and indoor seating was available and both had really great decor. The staff there were really friendly too. It's not too busy on a Sunday afternoon, and parking should be relatively easy to find.<br/><br/>In terms of the food, I ordered the Nachos Santos and the Vegetarian Enchiladas to share. I really enjoyed the Nachos Santos, the serving was big and definitely worth the price! The corn chips were seasoned to be slightly spicy and salty, which complimented the toppings perfectly. The ratio of the toppings was also really good, so that you could taste everything without one overpowering the other. The jalopenos gave the dish a kick of spice which I liked; and the sour cream and salsa was enough to add flavour without making the chips soggy by the end of the meal!<br/><br/>The Vegetarian Enchiladas however, I was disappointed in. The filling didn't really have any flavour, the dish lacked texture, and the sauce wasn't my cup of tea, but I can't quite pinpoint what it is. It's also a very overpowering sauce. That said, the pickled vegetables and the fried mushrooms (?) which accompanied the enchiladas were delicious, and I loved them! <br/><br/>I didn't get to try any of the fusion dishes this time, and may come back to try it. Hispanic Mechanic is a really nice trendy place to visit  with decent food in my opinion. However, I wouldn't go out of my way to try it.

I've eaten here a few times now and this score is an average of all of them.<br/><br/>First off the atmosphere is generally good (as long as you don't mind Mexican theme), and the staff are uber friendly and speedy and professional. Lots of space and big groups are no problem. <br/><br/>The food. Sometimes it's a bang like the salmon tacos or the ribs. Other times it seems like something was missing like with the lamb taco or the snack servings which are too small for the cost. <br/><br/>Honestly I have had a 4.5/5 experience at this place a but I've also had 2/5 experiences too. It's a real hit/miss joint. <br/><br/>(To be constructive in case the owner is reading these; there is a lot of choice for Mexican theme or fusion restaurants in Adelaide, so maybe simply the menu a bit to be specific things that definitely pop and work?)

The food was okay, it looks amazing but lacked the zing that you will get at 'Lucky Lupita's'. <br/><br/>Having said that the atmosphere is trendy and romantic so going here for drinks and starters with a hot date would work quite well.
Acheater
Amazing atmosphere and great food. Was seated outside and it was cooler than expected but they were quick to organise a heater for us. The food came out fast but we did have to work hard to order more drinks. Think this was because the had several large functions going on so maybe another staff member or two to cater would have been good. Really enjoyed

Walter gets it right again. Ultra hip menu. Fresh flavours. Generous serves. Love the house chilli sauces on the table. Habanero is killer. Enjoyed one of the best plates of food in recent memory. The Bird in a bowl. Tender chicken strips, fresh herbs, chipotle sauce, pineapple. Yum. Will be back.
Chips Before Dips
Lovely decor and atmosphere. Good service and delicious food. We got one of the banquet options to share, and enjoyed everything, especially the kingfish ceviche, and the 'bird in a bowl'. <br/>Will definitely be back

This place is exceptionally good, however it was a little bit pricey. I purchased a one way ticket from the United States to Sydney Australia  with my good friend Noah. Both of us work part time and are fully employed students so coming up with the funds of 40 dollars for our flight was pretty difficult work. We had twenty dollars between the both of us when we got to Sydney and the majority was spent on one souvenir hat with a pretty cool feather in it (It smelled of weed however). When we got there after about a week of painstakingly crawling in the sand from Sydney to South Australia, we had about 2 dollars when we finally got there and after begging outside for a week they finally let us in for one free meal, right before we were about to set ourselves on fire in protest. The last two dollars we spent on a tip to the very nice waiter (cool guy) and we have been nomads in the desert of Australia ever since. Please send help my battery is getting low and there are no outlets in the desert. Overall, a great place I think I saw Bill Gates but that might have been from the dehydration. On a scale from 12- 1700, 1500 being the best and 680 being the worst, I'd give this pi.

Big crazy place. Always busy when we have been. Excellent food. Service patchy but I think I depends on whether they've got big groups in. I personally wouldn't go for an intimate dinner but for big groups it's ideal. <br/><br/>I like eating in the bar to the right of the entrance. And the outside bit in summer is heaps fun.
Foodie Quine
Delicious, top class Latino food! We enjoyed the $49 banquet for a table of 12, a combination of old favourites done like you've never had before and Spanish inspired dishes you've never tried or heard of. Plenty of food and every dish right down to the dessert finale was amazing. Brilliant staff too who go the extra mile. Can't wait to go back.

We came here with a large group and had the whole patio area reserved. It was a cold night but the heaters soon warmed the place up. Service was amazing, our meals only took 5 minutes to arrive! My favourites would have to be the chicken wings and cheesey dip! The tortillas for the tacos were a bit of a let down, but the fillings were perfect! Great experience overall!

Glen Osmond Road has its fair share of restaurants and Hispanic Mechanic is a place we have been wanting to try for a long time after hearing so many good things about it. We walked through the garden area which was a great outdoor lounge. Already it was almost filled with groups of friends and family catching up for drinks. We made our way inside to brightly painted walls and industrial look fittings. Greeted at the bar, we were taken to our table in the restaurant section. They’ve played on the mechanic shop theme very well. The table tops were copper, and as expected you can see exposed pipes and cables along top.
Tempting Palates
We were a big fan of the previous restaurant at this location so we had to try the new Hispanic Mechanic at 205 Glen Osmond Road, Frewville. At first glance you notice subtle changes but enough to show that there is a different restaurant here and one that has a mechanic touch. From the Hispanic Mechanic mural on the wall to the fuel inspired frames on the walls. On the night we dined there was a full restaurant and a lot more customers in the bar area.

Great food, friendly staff, amazing music, go there for the music

I need to say straight up that I am not a fan.  I know lots of people who love Hispanic Mechanic and I also know that it was one of the finalists in the best new restaurants category for The Advertiser Good Food Guide awards but personally, I'm not convinced.

See, I found this, overwhelmingly average? These guys normally run a good joint. I had the Banquet and left, well, hungry! And disappointed. So, so, disappointed. If only it was half as good as Gin long........

Really enjoyed a quick dinner at Hispanic mechanic. The menu style and dishes felt very familiar to the Mexican society of Chinatown. If they are owned by the same people I hands down like the Hispanic mechanic better. The restaurant is decked out well, great atmosphere and the place is huge! We were quickly seated even though we didn't have a reservation. I started with the tostones and loved the apple kimchi on it. We shared the enchilladas de verduras and they were amazing. Great sauce and the mushrooms are very tasty.

Had waited a long time to come to Hispanic Mechanic and was not disappointed. The chicken wings are the best I've ever had. We also order empanadas which were delicious but a little small for the price. The lamb taco was a little on the dry side however the smokey chicken and Mr. Kim's taco were incredible. Would recommend the Sangria jug and we loved the little cups which are a common theme amongst all restaurants by these owners. We want them for at home!! Great aesthetics and decor to fit the theme and friendly, prompt service. Will be coming back for more chicken wings!

Really enjoyed our visit here on a Saturday night. It was busy, but we had booked a table and were seated straight away.<br/>It is a loud place with lots of big groups, so keep that in mind when booking!<br/>My husband and I shared quite a few dishes, including 3 from the specials board. <br/>Everything came back quickly and the wait staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing.<br/>Food was delicious, we especially liked the ceviche. Will definitely be back.

My sister and I visited Hispanic Mechanic today for lunch. We were really keen on experiencing a mexican-korean fusion, imagining the spices, chilli and lime were tingling our taste buds before we arrived, but alas we were deeply disappointed.<br/><br/>The menu made big promises that just failed to deliver - lack of that zing had us thinking we should've tried Norburger instead. <br/><br/>The staff seemed lost or confused, service was mediocre at best and there was no follow up to check on us and our meals... Maybe an extra sauce or two could've made the difference. I guess we'll never know.<br/><br/>As for the prices, a bit pricey really, two entrees, two tacos, one beer and mineral water was a tick over $60. It just wasn't worth it, pity. We won't be back or recommending it...
Honestly_nadz
Went here with very high hopes with a friend of mine. Immediately impressed by the ambience i was salivating with the thought of their food to come. Having just been to Mexico I was excited to try the Mexico / Korean combo. Oh how wrong could I be. The cabbage enchiladas I ordered were horrible! Terrible combination of flavours! And my friend ordered the deep friend pork hock which was literally just that... A huge friend chunk of pork in some sort of white puree. Won't be back.

I came here with a larger group, 10 of us. We were located in a nice spot however it was a little bit squishy and very loud. It was hard to have a proper conversation. Now more importantly the food served was average - we ordered a lot of different dishes and maybe only two in total stood out, one of them being the desert. Banana cake I ordered was to die for and I'd definitely have it again if I return. Another thing that stood out was the outside area. On a warm night this is definitely a nice chill out location.

Anazing, fresh flavours Beef ribs the highlight out of the banquet! Would recommend it to all! Shame we were rushed for time but it wasn't a fault of the restaurant top marks

Went Sunday night with a party of 4 women and 3 men, and ordered the $49 Banquet. The amount of food was well and truly more than enough even considering 2 of the men are notorious big eaters. <br/><br/>It was an eclectic mix, by our standards, of South American themed food and we got try a couple of completely new flavours and ingredients that we'd normally never expect to find on 'regular' menus. <br/>The Chicken Wings were great. The Beef Short Ribs were awesome.<br/><br/>The wine and drink selection was equally interesting, with the White Sangria very enjoyable. On a hot summer evening I could see us drinking that all night long.<br/><br/>The service was quick and staff very friendly and helpful - although we did teach the Colombian waiter that Napper is in fact Snapper.<br/><br/>We'd be happy to go back again if someone suggested it.

Food was good, definitely, but did not blow me away.<br/><br/>We went for the $49 banquet option which is amazing value because it was soooo much food. I was also pleased they didn't skimp on the rice.<br/><br/>T H E H I G H L I G H T S<br/>Moqueca- Brazilian fish stew: beautifully cooked seafood in a subtle tomatoey stew. My favourite dish.<br/>Master Kim's 5 Star Wings: wings will always be a fav for me. The chipotle gochujang sauce was sticky, crunchy from sesame seeds, sweet and a little bit spicy. The wasabi mayonnaise did not have much flavour to me, which was a little disappointing.<br/>Tres Leches- three milk sponge: this cake was moist and delectably banana-y. I do wonder if a French meringue would've been a more suitable outer than Italian because it was soft (though well done, not grainy as it sometimes can be) meringue on soft cake. Caramelised banana was yum.<br/><br/>T H E I N T E R E S T I N G<br/>The black bean stew was smoky, like, REALLY smoky. But interestingly the smokiness tempered really well with rice and when you had rice + beans + meat on your fork I found it really enjoyable.<br/><br/>I enjoyed everything else (nachos, corn on the cob, ceviche tostaditos, meatballs, beef ribs, salad, dessert... See what I mean about there being oodles of food?) but not to the point where I'm raving and MUST go back.<br/><br/>Fitout was cool. Staff were hit and miss, didn't greet us despite eye contact, but were generally good once we were sitting.<br/><br/>if I do come back I'd love it to be on a lazy afternoon to drink sangria (which was great) in the sunshine.

You know what they say – A meal isn’t over until you hate yourself just that little bit, or is that just me? Anyway, by the time I had my final bite at Hispanic Mechanic (sneakily popping the top button of my jeans as it digested) the meal… was over.

Quirky joint, with such a lively atmosphere. Such fitting deco and the little walk-in bar area is so inviting! Their food concept seems to be a mix between Mexican & Korean food. This will be my 3rd time back and having their $39/pax set dinner. Service was quick... Real quick and food did not disappoint either. The standout dish has to be the Caesar salad beautifully charred lettuce with cheesy crunchy croutons! The rest was still a good ...burp... hearty fill! <br/><br/>The seated area was a tad warm that particular night and table real estate does get a bit cramp when the dishes are flying out of the kitchen this fast. Overall, a real sweet spot, grab a couple of friends for a hearty night and some tequila fun!

No complaints here. Great food, great atmosphere and excellent service. Would be particularly good to visit in the warmer months as it has a great outdoor area which could probably host quite a lot of people

We went on a very busy night and walked into chaos, there were people standing around everywhere waiting to be seated or waiting to pay bills.. I have to say the food and service were excellent. However even after making a booking we were seated on bar stools at a high bar table in a busy staff thoroughfare between the kitchen, waiting staff bar and a massive metal screen segregating us from the main restaurant. The stools were very uncomfortable. The outside space seems to be wasted and would be great with additional seating,. I have to say I was a little disappointed with my experience!!
The Munchkin
Excellent service and environment. Had the corn which was good. The wings were a bit dry but marinade wise was delicious. The 5 sauces that are offered is a must try as well. Had the fish tacos and smoky chicken tacos. Ideal size but the fish tacos was too soggy and smoky chicken a bit dry. Had the les tress for dessert which is a milk sponge cake and cream which was alright.
Mel Kaszas
Fantastic food & great atmosphere! Had the nachos to share and a lamb taco, the lamb melted in my mouth perfectly seasoned too. Also had the crispy chicken wings they are quite spicy but so yummy!
Laura
Excellent food, stunning venue, great service and really well priced. <br/><br/>I was previously told that the servings were small for what you pay - surely they were talking about somewhere else! For two glasses of wine ($10 each), nachos, salad, enchiladas and chips, we paid just over $70 and we were stuffed! <br/><br/>The food was full of flavour and the servings were big! The staff were all so friendly and accommodating and they really cares about their customers. <br/><br/>The restaurant itself is just beautiful - really cool theme and well laid out. <br/><br/>I can't wait to go back for cocktails by the courtyard fire! My only complaint, and this is pitiful, is that the wine glasses were thick and heavy - they weren't the best quality. Given that's the only flaw, it's safe to say that Hispanic Mechanic is one of my favourite new places!
Zoe L
Amazing. <br/><br/>Service was outstanding, the young man that was our waiter for the night had excellent knowledge of the menu and was more then accommodating to our dietary requirements. He also checked in with us regularly to see if we were enjoying our meals and if we needed anything else.<br/><br/>The food was delicious, we had Nachos Santos to start which had a good amount of heat. <br/><br/>For main we had Ensalada De Palmitos, Enchiladas De Verduras and Papas Fritas. <br/><br/>The Ensalada was a bit sweet for me as I normally don't eat dates but the flavours were really good. The Enchiladas had a deep rich tomato flavour and Papa Fritas had a nice spicy salty coating. <br/><br/>The hot sauce table guide is great - I slipped with the habanero and poured it all over my Nachos haha burn city. <br/><br/>Highly recommend and will return.

Easily my favourite South and Central American inspired food and the closest you'll get to the real thing in Adelaide! The fit out is great and the food is perfect. We had the $59 banquet menu and it was a great idea as we got to try many of the delicious foods we might not have ordered for ourselves. Particular props go to the feijoada and elotes. Our waitress was also excellent and had a really good knowledge of the menu and the wine list.

Lovely Mexican restaurant. Same owner of lucky lupitas but has a very different menu. Absolutely friendly and helpful staffs. Fairly busy place even during weekdays, advise to make a booking before dining in. Had elote for entree - the all time favourite of grilled corn with spices and cheese. This taste so good... The cheese is half melt. There's a fair selection for tacos. The taco usually only comes in one serve - high recommend the smokey chicken. The name of the dish speaks for itself - you get the fantastic smokey flavour. Every dish has its own flavour - they does not taste all the same like how some Mexican restaurant been serving. For main, we order bird in a bowl... It's a mixture of chicken breast with salads. The chicken breast is cook to perfection - meat is very moist. Salads are well seasoned and taste very fresh. To spice up the dish, there's some crispy thin nachos. Out of all, there's also 4 sauces served to go along with the all the dishes from mild, mild/med, med/hot and hot/hot/hot. The sauces are worth a try.not to forget to seal the night with the popular flourless corn cake!!! The corn cake is to die for... It is a must try. I'm definitely going to be back to try the rest of the menu.
Michelle
I like this place. Everything from the decor to the food and the friendly service. The chicken wings and tacos were yummy. Most of the food on the set menu were also good. I would definitely be back here soon.

I have been here twice now. The first time was a weeknight, relatively quiet night.. Service was ok, food was ok.. The second time was a busy night with a great atmosphere and fun vibe. Our group of 8 waiting 1 hour to order any food, we found it extremely difficult to hail down staff.. Staff did not remove empty bottles, glasses and plates from our table , even when we had them all stacked and piled at the end of our table. One staff member even delivered food to us then left the bottles and plates. Extremely disappointing. Will not return.

When I first started as a Food Blogger, I quickly learnt that the most popular posts were from new eateries that opened up. I would always aim to visit new establishments within a week of their opening. My first visit to Hispanic Mechanic was no different as I dined in on their third day of opening. Some people might say that it is unfair to visit a restaurant when they haven’t found their feet yet, while others will suggest that a place is fair game once it has opened. Given my first visit wasn’t very memorable, the Adelaide Food Central team was invited back to experience what this place was really about. All food and drink were provided free of charge.

I am torn about this place. I love Mexican food so it's hard to go wrong. The flavours were mostly good (some dishes needed more flavour) and some excellent (loved the ribs!). But I have mixed feelings about the service. The waiters were good (attentive, friendly and polite) but the waitresses looked like they had better things to do (busy whispering to themselves and rolling their eyes when we had asked for an extra chair!). So I would happy to be somewhere else to achieve good food with all-round good service.
Uberfrauline
Uber Hit Miss! This is where I must say, that when you are a confident chef and work with a confident team in your kitchen, then every single dish on your menu should be excellent. It is very annoying when you recommend a place to friends but tell them not to order the so and so, but try the so and so! I have to say the beef ribs where excellent, the empanadas were nice, but we struggled to find the chicken. Please people, chicken is not that expensive, so put some in there! The rest of the dishes we had were quite nice, but not explosive. I found that most dishes missed the mark on flavour. If you are going to do a fusion menu, please put the flavours out there and do not be afraid. The Mexican Korean theme seems to be working, but the flavours need to be pushed a lot further, We need bang for our buck! We are happy to go back and try again and hope that the menu will be tweaked and improved, as this team seems to care about their food and service. There is a lot of competition out there in Adelaide and you need to keep repeat business, so lets put yum in every single dish!
The Tasty Press
Taking place of Osteria De Mesa along Glen Osmond road, is Hispanic Mechanic. It’s clear the place has had a thoughtful redesign, with spacious outdoor heated lounges and the indoors jam packed full of seating creating a lively and bustling atmosphere. We took a last minute booking on a Saturday night, and although seemingly vacant-looking from the outside, inside I was surprised to see that it was energetically teeming with middle-aged groups, happily feeding on share plates. The new interior and decor seems to have created a more upbeat atmosphere, matching the suitably industrial and retro theme and the familiar exposed pipework we’ve seen from it’s sister, Lucky Lupitas.

Bad food and really bad service. The waiter spilt water on my food and I was physically bumped nearly every time the waiting staff moved pass my table<br/>

Yep, yum. Having travelled around South America - I can say this food is on par (but more expensive 😂). The ceviche starter was lovely and fresh - punch in the mouth flavours. The corn cob was scrumptious. The duck taco special was a very generous serve. I thought the seafood main was lacking a bit in flavour but then I should have added some hot sauce (of which I had three to choose from). Service was quick and friendly. I love when waiters are confident with their recommendations. Lots of GF options too. Oh, I will be back!

Unbelievable disappointing. I went with a group of my mates coz i was told this was the same owners as lucky lupitas and wow what a difference! Ambiance and style of the place was on point. Then we got the food. And it was not worth the wait. I get their attempt with their "korean" take on mexican but they should just stick with what the know. The two things i would order would include their house made cocktails and their corn on the cob.... Might come back in a few months once theyve had some time to grow.

Beautiful!!. I'll get straight to the food, it was fresh, light and full of falvour! We had a few starters and some tacos! Definitely try the salmon taco!! Service is great for a new restuarant and couldn't fault the interior design and atmosphere! <br/><br/>Definitely will be back!!

Amazing food. Great food and ambience! Amazing fusion of latin and Korean!.highly recommended!
Simpletoadstool
Interesting fusion - would recommend for something different!. Had a lovely night with a friend at Hispanic Mechanic. The waiters were able to answer our many questions about the different foods on offer. We decided to share several of their starters and tacos as the menu seemed sharing focused. The Korean and Latin American fusion was interesting but we savoured each dish, including a dessert which was unlike anything I had ever had but very tasty! The only slight niggle I had was the noise but we were very close to a large booking which wouldn't always be the case. I recommend going there with no preconceptions of past Latin American food you have had as this is something different - a fusion. Great food, nice staff & a wonderful atmosphere.

It’s not uncommon these days for restaurants to go through a re-branding to reinvigorate the business. The owners of the former Osteria de Mesa have done just that by opening Hispanic Mechanic. I was informed by one of the waiters that the food is Mexican with Asian influences, and is a reflection of the community that resides in that country.
