Review Wah Wah Gee - Geelong

Great place for a work lunch. The mains were very really nice, but the starters were outstanding. As many people have said, must try the lemon pepper squid. They just need to add serving cutlery to each dish šŸ‘šŸ»

Had the "feed me" banquet, and can definitely say there's a lot of food to eat, if you aren't into spicy food then you may want to pick something else on the list. But overall very nice service and tasty food, also allow takeaway if you don't eat everything you ordered.

Came in for lunch on a Sunday because a friend had bought us a voucher. Beautiful ambience and the waitresses serving us were so friendly and wonderful. We ordered the Feed Me (gluten-free) option which was $60 per person. To be honest it was a bit of a hit and miss for me. The 5 entrees were served about 15 minutes later and were 90% vegetarian. The only entree I really enjoyed was the fried chicken bao. The rest were ok. Then the two mains were the curry chicken and Thai beef salad which came with roti and jasmine rice. The beef salad was delicious with hints of crunchiness from the fried vermicelli noodles and cashew nuts. The roti and rice had good texture and were cooked well. However the curry chicken was disappointing because it was so sour. There was no/not enough coconut milk to balance out the acidity. Again the curry was filled with vegetables and hardly had any meat in it. I can understand why itā€™s a popular restaurant being just at the end of the Pier with beautiful views of the ocean. If I ever came back next time I would order individual dishes because I think they would be better value for money than the Feed Me option.

Two of us came to Wah Wah Gee Restaurant at the end of the pier for some dinner. We ordered the fish and chips, and pork belly with bok choy. Firstly, I want to say that the restaurant itself is in a fantastic location and looking out the window makes you feel like you're on a cruise ship. Secondly, I thought the customer service was very good, and the staff were very accommodating and quick to take our food and drink orders. Finally, the food was delicious and portions were generous, leaving both of us very satisfied with our meals. Thank you Wah Wah Gee.

Good ambience. Food has a good presentation, but it's definitely not for asian palette. I enjoyed the bao, not the other 2 dishes though. The sauce for both chinese chilli beef with rice and ginger prawn dumpling is too sour.

One of the freshest fish and chips ever! Crispy Chicken Bao is a must try with the slight kick of sweet chilli. Would be great to have more chilli on it!

After hearing how good this place was from so many people i was very disappointed to find out for myself how unsatisfactory it actually was. The waiting staff were fantastic but the food was average. BBQ pork Bao, 3 for $14 when i could have bought the exact same ones (if not better) from the frozen section of the supermarket. Chicken wings tasted like they were cooked using a bottled sauce. Rendang Chicken curry, chicken was cooked nicely and thats where it stopped. Never have i had to put salt on a curry before as it was so under seasoned. Barely touched the curry and told the waiter we werent going to eat it. I was happy to pay for everything that we ate except for the curry and rice which we barely touched. Was told by the manager that the best they could do was give us the curry for half price. Walked away with a half empty stomach and a sad face. Would not recommend to anyone and will never be returning :(

The food was great and the service was fantastic. My son (age 11) is at risk from anaphalaxis to peanuts and the staff were so on top of it, upon our arrival they informed us of what he couldnt eat off the menu and checked that he had his epipen with him. We loved the food and really enjoyed eating somewhere with staff that understood his allergies, it made our night very relaxed and enjoyable.

Food fantastic but music ridiculously loud ! Staff are friendly but not efficient leaving empty plates way too long on the tables. Ordered drinks that never came and stood in front of 5 staff at the desk ( the only customer there) made eye contact on at least three occasions but still not attended to ......they were all talking amongst themselves. Spent over $300 on the night.

We called in here for a drink tonight. Just somewhere to get out of the wind and watch the water for a bit. Found rude staff who were quick to inform us we couldnā€™t sit there as they were preparing tables for dinner, they suggested a table where we couldnā€™t see the view but would pay the same price. We were only planning on staying a short time for a glass of wine but may have considered staying for dinner if we had found a welcome. We are new to the area but would not go back to this place again under any circumstances. Luckily the people at the Edge across the road were far more friendly.

In a word, WOW! The food is South Asian inspired with the unexpected, such as the cheeseburger bao with slow cooked beef - yum. There are small plates as well as share options such as the barramundi yellow curry. The yellow curry was full of layered flavour, eaten Saturday, still savouring the taste a day after. I want to try more from the Gee's menu. Very impressed.

Great food. Interesting cocktails and the best view. Just a bit noisy. Music could have been turned down some.
