Review Botanical On Ryrie - Geelong

Great little spot for coffee and food! The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are lovely. I had the Botanical Benedict which was on the upper end of pricey for what you get but still worth it. The coffee was also excellently made and came out quickly after ordering. The interior also offers an eclectic vibe which enhances the general experience of this little gem.

Vibrant, yet relaxing atmosphere. Service is nicely paced too. I ordered the Big Brekkie and was loving the serving size, presentation and quality of the food. Good textures and flavours. They also have disabled toilets!

Amazing food! Cleary put a lot of effort into presentation of food and wonderful vegan breakfast options. Diverse cafe/coffee/blossom tea/flavoured latte menu which is always fun!

We came here for breaky this morning, and it was great. Service was quick, staff were friendly & food tasty. It's a bit small inside, so tables /seating is limited. Probably worth booking (if that's an option).

Nice meal and tea in here, just too less for me tho lol and it’s suitable for family not for quiet dates.

I have been coming here for several years now on and off and I look forward to it every single time like it was my first. The food is delicious, the staff are always friendly and sometimes the owners are floating around to say hi. It took me a while to remember but they also own the pub in Batesford which is also one of my favourite places to go.

No matter what I choose on the menu, it never disappoints here and I have too many favourites to make some suggestions. Best to go during the week if you want a quiet atmosphere as it can pick up on weekends with children and parents in active wear.

If going for breakfast, get the Green Toast! You will NOT be disappointed!

I came here with 7 of my friends. The service was good. The interior is cute as it was a little cottage and kind of retro.

I’m rating Botanical on Ryrie 3/5 as I wasn’t a huge fan of my dish. I can’t say for my friends, I think they all enjoyed their dishes. However I will upload their orders.

I ordered the Special of the Day which was a gnocchi dish. I just thought the dish was very bland and the gnocchi was over cooked.

I was expecting a bit more than gnocchi, blue cheese sauce and a few walnuts which ended up costing $23. There was nothing that substantial or unique about it for the value - so I was disappointed.

(I’ve included the dishes that my friends ate on this post)

I was quite disappointed with this place. We went for brunch on the weekend and it was understandably very busy, however the waitress found us a table and high chair which was great. Unfortunately we had to wait so long for our meals that by the time it arrived, I had gone past hunger. Despite ordering one of the more expensive dishes, my meal didn’t come with bread which was surprising and the food lacked flavour. I really wanted to love this place but I won’t be going back.

Definitely the best cafe in East Geelong with friendly staff, good food on the menu and very comfy place. Plenty of parking along Ryrie Street and also licensed with a good variety of wine, local beer and spirits. The coffee and cakes are great too.

We had booked 12 people for my nieces 4th birthday and were pretty disappointed. The eggs were bland and they wanted to charge us $20 to bring out our own cake to sing happy birthday. I was also told that they couldn't make an omelette for my 15 month old son as "they don't make changes to the menu on weekends" even though the menu says eggs any way you like them. I had to push the point with the waitress until she finally asked the chef and he said it was OK. The price was expensive for the quality of food provided. Won't be making my way back there any time soon.

Had lunch here today, pretty average. Had pumpkin quinoa salad, not a lot of taste at all. We were quick to be seated and were quickly asked if we would like to order, too quickly in fact. Once finished with our meals we waited ..... and waited ..... and waited in the hope we would be offered coffee and/or a sweet. Didn't happen, therefore we went elsewhere for coffee and cake. They weren't busy which, had they been, I may have understood this lack of service.

I wouldn't bother to go there again.

This place sets the standards. The food is delicious and the staff are so courteous and friendly. As soon as you set your toe over the entrance they welcome you and make you feel they want you to be there. Beautiful decor - maybe a little noisy when talking but there is a lovely buzz about the place. I intend to visit often

Great coffee but the food menu leaves much to be desired. Limited menu and no vego options unless you want eggs on toast or a salad. Would return for the coffee.

This recently opened cafe is a welcome addition to the East Geelong area. Situated across from the East Geelong Gardens and High School it provides a lovely cafe experience with modern decor and a warm ambiance.
I have been here many times for coffee and once for lunch. Staff are particularly good at this cafe. The main barista is very warm and friendly and really knows how to make coffee. The staff have always made an effort to talk to me and make me feel comfortable as most times I am on my own with my one year old and my trusty canine outside.
I have had lunch here once and I possibly should wait until I have had a few more meals here to see what the menu is like as I have only ordered a very simple sandwich and chips. The sandwich was good but I think they used packaged chicken breast which is a shame and it would have been nice if had a homemade relish or mayo as it was a little plain in flavours. That being said I don't want to judge it just on this as from the look of other meals I have seen when I have been here there are using beautiful fresh ingredients so I will make sure I have another meal here soon and order something a bit more creative! This cafe also has alcohol on the menu.
The other thing I love about this cafe is the decor. There has been a great attention to detail with beautiful wooden furniture, gorgeous lighting that my child loved. Particularly the large hanging lights over the service counter. Also, the cafe has not been greedy in trying to stuff as many tables as they can. There is large spaces around the tables creating a sense of comfort and space.

Please try this cafe as I think it will be one of the favourite cafe spots in Geelong!
