Particularly fond of the galangal chicken..yummm! Love having this restaurant nearby. All locals should really have a try. They also seem to do a raging takeaway business. People I know love the whole barramundi meal. Their mixed entrees are great, also.

Came in on a Friday night, took a little while to get our food (because they were quite busy with the take away orders).
Despite this, when the food came out it was delicious!!! Can’t recommend it enough!
Decent range of vegetarian options too!

Just need to balance the reviews here.. cooking was pretty ordinary. Everything over cooked and lacking flavour, I’m sure other dishes might be better, but we weren’t impressed.

Best Thai restaurant in Geelong. The quailty and taste is amazing. Would recommend highly to anyone. One negative, make sure you order in advance. Waited over an hour for my order.

Went to the restaurant on Saturday for lunch (it was take away only). Ordered soft shell crab curry, cinnamon duck, bbq lamb and a few stir fries. Waited about 30 mins for the food. BBQ lamb was a little tough for me but everything else were incredibly delicious, brings me back to Thailand! The pad thai deserves mention - the noodles and sauce were perfect. The soft shell crab curry portion was also very generous. Highly recommend!

Best Thai in Geelong, so lucky it's close by! Everything I've tried has been tasty and fresh, from spring rolls, to stir fries, salads, noodle dishes and curries. Can't fault it, only problem is it can be hard to get in now as the secret seems to be out!

I enjoy Thai food for the flavours and freshness. Thai Basil,is a secret hidden gem in Highton. The service is friendly and efficient. For a smaller restaurant the menu choices are very extensive with some very interesting and amazing Thai dishes not normally seen on a menu. Every dish we had was superb. Good prices. Will visit regularly. Best Thai restaurant I have been too......and I have been to many. The only minor drawback is that it is a little too noisy with the kitchen too close to dining customers.

Delicious!! Thank for the best Thai meal. The Green curry and Massaman curry are my favourite. Your service is friendly and the restaurant interior decor is beautiful. I will definitely recommend to everyone

We had our first experience of takeaway tonight from Black Basil. Wow, the vegies in our dish were so fresh, chunky and cooked perfectly, soft with a little bit of crunch. A good ratio of meat to vegies and a nice amount of sauce (we don't like our food drowning in sauce). Normally we get 2 mains and a rice, and are often still hungry from other restaurants. Tonight we got one main and a rice and struggled to finish it. Definitely need to explore the menu more. The staff were so nice too. I think I was thanked by no less than 3 staff for coming in.

I always judge a Thai place firstly by their Pad Thai, and the Pad Thai I had took me back to ChangMai. Slightly spicy, flavoursome, and overall totally yum.
They've got enough on the menu to go back for a taste of everything.

Great food, but for the wait times I have experienced two times from two online orders, is an absolute killer. Both over 2hr waits. No reason given for the wait?
If time is tight, i definitely recommend going elsewhere.

Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Geelong, been there 6 or 7 times now since opening and have tried something different on each occasion with much enjoyment, every dish full of fresh flavors and perfectly cooked ingredients, plus the bonus of friendly staff, nice venue and b.y.o. I have just moved to the hood and tried Black Basil for the first time last night. The mixed entree was a delicious mix and the whole Barramundi with Green Apple Salad might be the most amazing thing I have ever tasted!! It was so fresh and full of those beautiful Thai flavours. Meat bit tough. Most of the meals were cool rather than hot.
The fish cakes were lovely.
