Review The Cremorne Hotel - Geelong

Happening place. Older crowd enjoying their afternoon / evening betting and sports. We went for dinner- outdoor seating. Noise level good. Great menu choice and I had it narrowed down to three items and based on my friends exclaimed cry when I mentioned the Pommy Parma, that was set. I delight of chicken schnitzel topped with mashed potato, pies and sausages along with gravy. Nice chips to accompany. Fairly quick service. Friendly. Worth the visit.

My sister's and I were at your hotel today for lunch we all ordered the $20 party it came out well presented but that was where the good stops . The salad was prickly lettuce leaves a quarter of a tomato and a sliver of cucumber the chips were warm as for the parmy quite warm around the outside as we cut into it more barley warm as a result of this we did not eat most of it so we will not be returning to this hotel since covid the care factor has gone out the window not only with this hotel but overall

Good "pub lunch", good customer service. Had fillet of fish and chips with salad. Fish was okay but only warm and not much flavour. Very little salad but heaps of chips.

Fantastic venue for a function - in my case, my daughter's 21st. The prices were very reasonable and the food and customer service were exceptional. Would highly recommend.

Dinner was great, but I did not appreciate the show. Watching one of the staff members being berated by what looked like to be the manager was unnecessary considering she provided great service to us all for such a large booking. Shame on her.

1 star? Cause don't think you can do ZERO star. Where do I start? Walked in thru back door was greeted with a patrons dog better than the chic behind bar, not sure if she wanted to be there. Ordered two (entree) nachos to share between 3 people. $26 EA!!! Came out with "plates are hot" from staff with zero personality. Couldn't even see the nachos for the paddock of garnish on top! And what's with the radish on nachos, doesn't sound like Mexican to me. The two tiny dishes of sour cream and guacamole . I don't know where they sourced the guac from, but I couldn't even describe the taste or lack of it. I think it came from a jar or from Mars??? It was green but didn't taste at all like guacamole. Don't know how you can get nachos wrong but the Cremorne pub achieved that. No wonder the place was empty. There was two tables to serve and couldn't even take away empty plates. Yeah, nah from us. Not worth it !!!!

My partner and I came here as we were in Geelong for the weekend to watch the footy, he has been wanting to go to the cremorne for so long so we were really excited. Disappointed is an understatement which made us sad. Being a Saturday night, we knew it would be busy so we expected a bit of a wait & we were happy to wait a little for a good feed. BUT Booking was at 5:30pm, we waited an hour for food then asked the waitress how much longer it would be as we have been waiting for a while. She comes out about 5 minutes later with our meals which was a parma & a steak. Chips were soggy & cold, steak was actually cooked perfectly, the coleslaw had the strangest aftertaste ( fishy like ), Parma was just luke warm & again soggy cold chips. We weren’t going to say anything as I don’t like to complain, but if you’re going to have a small pub menu at least cook the food well. After this, would sadly not recommend!

Was there for lunch - ordered the Veal Stroganoff. Was a veal cutlet with chefs interpretation of the Strog bit on top - not what I expected truth be told. Cutlet was tough and probably needed to be cooked well done to counter that. Beer lines are clean and staff are friendly.

Good pub everyone seems to know each other. You can have a pub meal /Bistro meal / Restaurant meal. Staff very good . It was Billy's Birthday 🎉 so there was a few around

Every time we have been here (dinner time), they never disappoint. Always has a wonderful atmosphere, the staff are lovely, and the food is amazing! Great for family get togethers, birthdays or even for a special occasion etc. Would highly recommend trying!

Very very disappointed with this pub. Food dry &overcooked. Presented sloppy. 1 meal didn't turn up. Staff rude & clearly not enjoying their job. I have Never complained about food, but l did this time to be told by the manager next time you come in mention what happened&we will give you a free drink. Well guess what l won't be back.

Great service from bar staff to waitress enjoyed a lovely lunch not rushed at all definitely will return �

Bloody Disgrace! Waited almost an hour for two Parmas that never arrived. Asked wait staff where order was and was told kitchen had lost order but five more minutes... well after ten minutes no parma just an apology and two dissatisfied customers. Wouldn't recommend this trumped up greasy spoon to anyone.

We come for a regular Sunday Sesh, especially when Mark Blunt is pumping out the tunes..love it, great atmosphere,great people, friendly staff,only complaint is we need a bigger dance floor!

Always a lovely atmosphere at The Cremorne & their food is quite good. It's self-service (go up to the bar to order), but the food came out really fast & tasted great. I'd recommend trying it out (just in the back area with the bar & tables).

Good food good wine and great music especially Sunday afternoon sessions with Mark Blunt ...

Came here with the family for my mum's birthday dinner. The mood was great until we encountered one of the waitresses who clearly doesn't like her job and has a serious attitude problem. Fortunately the food was great. We all enjoyed entrees and a variety of mains. Food was excellent and had no complaints with that area at all. Great menu with lots to choose from. Unfortunately the waitress showed attitude and was very rude the entire night. This spoilt the evening and we soon left after eating.

Such an amazing meal! Better then a regular pub meal and lovely staff, I certainly recommended it!

The food was okay but we were made to feel rushed and they turned the heating and the TV off and started clearing up when we were halfway through our meal. Disappointing service.

Beautiful meals, Parma was awesome. Dessert was also great. Friendly, helpful staff, couldn’t fault it.

This place never fails to disappoint-we keep going back HOPING it will get better. NEVER AGAIN. Service is crap-there are a couple of girls there that are absolutely useless and the older barman has such an arrogant attitude. One lovely young waitress there tonight-she's new-first time I could ever say that about one of their staff. Meals were good for about 2 weeks and good prices, BUT be warned prices have gone up!! Steak tonight was disgusting-manager told me Scotch fillet has veins-fine but I ordered porterhouse and it was chewy as. He treated me like crap cos I said the steak was chewy-here's a tip idiot-if you don't want people to tell you the truth about the food they are served then tell your staff NOT TO ASK HOW WAS YOUR FOOD!! Stay away-so many great places in Geelong-why did I go back-cos it's my local....but that's it. I'm done with the Cremorne. Don't waste your money.

The staff were very pleasant and acted promptly on any inquiries about their beers / meals and yes will return in the future,the meals were of top quality and served within a very short time span and in a nice manner.

It's a great casual hotel where we popped in for a couple of beers and a bet . We played a few games of Keno and felt really comfortable. A nice evening. Recommend it to anyone.

Went to use Entertainment book, unable to use on bar meals which wasn't mentioned on bar menu (it was mentioned on Lunch menu which was separate so deliberately didn't order from there) Bar meals extremely over priced. $20 for a club sandwich, bread used was the thin 99c safeway bread & it was burnt. Came with about 12 chips on the side which were cold. Wouldn't recommend. Very disappointed.

No heating in bistro area on a rainy cold night, food was very average and overpriced and you had to walk through the bar flies to order meals, had the chicken Parma which had obviously been pre cooked and stored in the Bain Marie, all meals come out luke warm, cheese wasn't even melted through on the Parma and the egg on top was not cooked properly and the egg white was still raw. Told the wait staff and she didn't seem interested, definitely won't go back and won't recommend to anyone.

Atmosphere is good and menu looked nice! Had lots of dishes to choose from. Friendly staff except one waitress. I ordered the Korean calamari parmi and they gave me a calamari salad! Unfortunately it was a below average dish. When I was ordering I was asked if I wanted the entree size. I said ok that’s good, the waiter then said ah we don’t do entree Size for that dish. After that he mucked up the order.

Only barely 3 stars. Food overall underwhelming. Had a gift voucher for $100 and needed to spend it all in one go. Started with Nachos and beer and it was great. Should have stopped there. Entree tasting platter, except for the calamari was tasteless. The Reuben Parmi was overpowering with vinegar taste. The lime Panacotta dessert was set like concrete and the Rocky Road slice was straight out of a Daryl Lee packet with “coles” fairy floss. Good point, water was filtered and tasted nice. Won’t be going back. Ps, extremely noisy and aircon was blowing cool air most of the night. Not good for first cold day in winter.

Original pasta I ordered apparently wasn't on the menu anymore so I replaced it with the gnocchi. Gnocchi was underwhelming to say the least. No flavour and was majority tasteless salad leaves.

Average to say the least. The food was just ok. Nothing special... especially considering the prices. Thank god we had the Entertainment book voucher. I have the seafood platter.... it looked big on first sight... but once I started eating I realised there wasnt much on the plate at all! I left hungry!!!<br/><br/>The sticky date pudding was good though!

Another go to place when in Geelong for the footy. We used to go to the dining room/restaurant but have more recently gone into the bar/lounge area. Buzzy place on footy day. Nice service. Wines are good quality and reasonably priced. Food - generous and tasty. Wonderful chips. Thai beef salad was excellent.

Great food and service but..... Had a lovely meal here, great service, generous portions....but...please turn the heater on! IT's the middle of winter!!!!

Brilliant as always!. I am a regular diner at the Cremorne, and it is very rare that I am ever disappointed! Last night I dined with my partner and we both enjoyed one of the dinner specials. I had the prosciutto wrapped chicken with mango and some other things. After telling the waitress it was an odd combination, I took a risk and ordered it. Delicious! <br/>My husband ordered the Chicken Curry and thoroughly enjoyed it! <br/>My only concern with their menu is the whiting - if ordered grilled it is a tiny portion for the $32 paid. Other than this they have never failed to impress me!

Tasteless watery curry. Whatever you do, don't order the curry. Friend and I both disappointed as it was cold, had no flavour and was watery, made me think it was stretched out to feed us both. Other meals have been fine here, esp the salads...as my friend said, should have known to order a curry in an Indian restaurant and a Parma in a pub! Had to add S&P a few times. We were hoping the waitress would ask us how the meal was...but alas she didn't. Probably knew what our reply would have been. The Food at the Torquay Market last night was far superior, for half the cost!

Tasteless and flavourless curry. Went out with family Saturday night and two of us had the 48 hr slow cooked beef curry. Had heard reports that this was a good venue. When the meal came out it looked quite pale and not very appetizing at all. Taste test proved what was feared; no spice, no flavour, no taste. Roti was rubbery. Other meals were described as nothing to rave about with the chicken faring best. Maybe should stay a "Parmy Pub".

What an amazing experience for a BISTRO!!! The food was Devine, I had the eye fillet, cooked to perfection and my partner had the veal, the atmosphere was nice, a little loud,as they were very busy, the service was everything you would want, I defiantly suggest to give it a try

Good! But could be Better!. It's a nice little venue which was renovated not that long ago. I go two to three times a month usually with my sister, the experiences I have had there go up and down, the menu hasn't changed since the renos but lucky their Nasi Goreng and Beef Curry are consistently GOOD meals and some nights the place lacks atmosphere, the staff look like its the last place they want to be but then others their having a blast and are very friendly and helpful! They also have a very handy bartender who makes AMAZING Espresso Martinis & Casprioskas on a Friday night. It's worth a look, its good qualities counteract the bad......

Consistently great service and good menu. Had the lamb brains today and they were superb!!!

Good food. Hubby and i had enjoyed the chicken parma and schnitzel here twice. They are good everytime! And they are reasonable price too (at the pub, not the dining area) Recently revonated, it was modern and open. It's a great place to catch up with friends.

Disappointing dessert. Visited the Cremorne for wine and dessert. Great decor and atmosphere but unfortunately found the staff to be unhelpful and disinterested when asking about the desserts. We ordered a chocolate pudding with no cream and received a chocolate pudding with cream and no sauce. We would go back for drinks only.

Renovations lovely, service lacking.. Came here looking forward to seeing the new renovations which were lovely but that was about it. Service at a nice place like this should be excellent but was really lacking. I was the first to arrive and walked up to the bar to ask where our reservation was, the waiter waived his hand and said over there (pointing to the rear of the restaurant where there was 6 empty tables!) I went and sat down by myself after going to two wrong tables first and being shouted at from the bar to keep going. Then everyone started to arrive, had to wait 15 minutes before flagging down the waiter and asking if we could get drinks. When everyone had arrived we had to ask where the drinks were and tried to order more for the late comers but was told hang on, we will come back for that order. This happened the whole night whenever we tried to order our entrees or meals the waiters would brush us off and finally come back. Not attentive at all. Meal were okay, quite pricey for what they were and the lack of service. I had the prawn risotto which was a good size but too lemony, felt like I was eating a desert with prawns. The other girls had nice meals, chicken looked lovely and risotto balls were really nice according to the others. Had to ask again for the desert menu which seemed to be a real hassle for the staff so we left. Overall I wouldn't rush back here unless they changed the staff. If you are going to try be an expensive and classy restaurant at least treat your customers like they are at one! Don't come here in a hurry, a real shame.

Wow room, not wow food!. Really nice to dine in the new room although the food wasnt to match. Pricey for what you get and service was lacking. Might give this place another try.

Mensday at the Cremorne. The second round of Mensday Evening saw us visit the Cremorne Hotel. We must issue a caveat and note that the pub was undergoing renovations, so room was pretty tight in the bar. Bar staff were friendly and the drinks were reasonably priced. The business end of the evening though could have been a little better. 2 of the meals were lost in the system, however when delivered were still enjoyed. A couple of the steaks were a bit grissly and a tad overcooked. Having said that, they were only 12 bucks.<br/>We give the vibe 6/10 and the food 6 also. In fairness we will be giving a revisit on a coming Mensday Evening when renos are complete.

Could be better... Ate here with my wife and some friends. I ordered the Paella and my wife ordered the chili prawn. Our friends had been here before and they said the food last time was really good. This time however, the paella was ok (I probably expected more for the amount we paid -and it didn't have any chorizo even though it said it would on the menu description). The chili prawn dish was really good however. Overall ok -but probably expected more value for the money we shelled out.
