Review The Barking Dog - Geelong

Amazing venue with hard working staff. The cope really well with the amount of walk in they had. Including bar staff, chefs. The food was delicious. Presentation was amazing. I had the Pork Belly which was rich and crispy and done to superb. I was very impressed with Geelong. I look forward to coming back.

👌🏻 Well I don't know where to start, 💯% the best meal I've had in a very long time, the service was 2nd to none, very friendly & happy staff😁 last wk I was in looking for somewhere different to take my family for tea and found THE BARKING DOG on Google, I'm so glad we went the the whole family enjoyed the well priced & generous sized meals. I believe I've found our new regular restaurant to visit 5starts around A+

Naomi, Veronica and I had a wonderful night at The Barking Dog Hotel. I want to give a special mention to Michael, Jenna, David and all the staff for their wonderful, friendly service, nothing was an effort. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was warm and inviting and the karaoke was the best I’ve been to. We had so much fun. We will be making this a regular night out. Great to listen to live music Sunday afternoon whilst having a few drinks, we stayed on to eat dinner, l had a schnitzel which was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was nice l recommend coming here if your in the area.

Very noisy but people were having a nice time. They had music and I was comfortable. If you like a glass or two and music it seems like a nice place.

cool space: choice of seating in the dining room, pub area, or 'mad bar' beer patio. decent drink selection, with a great specials menu. Food was good but took a while; it was a full house mid service on a saturday though, so I should have thought to order an appetiser. All up, it's a great venue and one of my go-to watering holes on Pako.

Great night out, live music and a bit of karaoke when you get board. Nice vibe, clean and a nice bistro. The staff are ridiculously nice 👌

A few months ago we used to go to Barking dog all the time. We went just today and it seems like management has changed. Menus have changed. We payed $16 for 5 pieces of squid. They neglected cutlery, napkins and water- they were more concerned about having a chat and setting the band up rather than their customers. We are never coming back. I wanted to take my wife out for a date and I feel so dissatisfied and disappointed. Bloody terrible service

Let me start by saying the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, both the wait staff and bar staff in the meals area. Meals overall were delicious. Only complaint meal wise is the beefcheeks were cold on arrival and the gnocchi hot. Staff however rectified the problem. I had the baked brie and it was amazing!!! And at $12, amazing value and more than enough to be a main meal rather than the description of small plate. The capsicum butter served with the bread plate was also divine. I have 2 kids under 10 and the waitress was brilliant. Love that the kids menu is also an activity page with puzzles and colouring in. Kids asked for crayons, some were delivered to the table almost immediately. My 8 year old asked for no salad with his meal, not only was he listened to, (many people in service and other industries don't give kids the time of day, let one acquiesce to their requests and wants) but he was given extra chips. My 9 year old wanted a spider, not the juice or regular soft drink on the kids menu. What should arrive for him, a coke spider (at no extra charge). Only criticism when it came to the kids was that sometimes kids actually want plain old spaghetti bolognaise and not chicken or steak smothered in what tasted like Chinese 5 spice. Overall, a great meal to celebrate an 18th birthday, especially when 10 of us could go out and leave feeling extremely full for around $250.00. I was hesitant to go there as last time I went (admittedly a decade ago) I said I'd not go back due to ridiculous prices and poor service, but definitely redeemed this visit.

I have never been more dissapointed in a meal. You don’t expect much for $12-15 meal, however the chicken parmy is normally pretty fail safe. A burnt chicken that had a half attempt at scraping the burnt parts off. The food felt like it had come straight from the freezer and thrown into a pan and put on the play. Over cooked and no flavour at all. Would never come back. Lucky the glass of wine wasn’t over cooked

This is our new favourite place to go for a yummy family meal. However, going in for a meal over a lunch period with my husband and our 10 week old, he needed a nappy change where i went searching and had to ask, to be told you dont have those facilities. I am quite disappointed their isnt these facilities as we do enjoy it there. im concerned as to how i would change a nappy during a dinner period where it is busy and the resturant gets quite full. i believe if you are stating your a family resturant you need to make it family orientated. please consider getting a change table, even the ones on the wall that you pull down.

A great afternoon at the Barking Dog, the best food, lovely staff, perfect atmosphere, and the entertainment topped it off.

I found my meal to be great! Steak was good & seafood was nice with it. Others at the table didn't have such a great meal, but my service & food was good.

First time here for dinner tonight , and omg so delicious � definitely value for money . Cosy atmosphere and a big shout out to the most friendliest welcoming staff I have come across in a very long time . Big thumbs up , will be telling everyone I know to have a meal here �

Had such a lovely birthday meal with hubby and 3 Kids...my older children just loved the movie playing out the window and the waitress we had was so helpful and pleasant...we will be back soon : )

Last night I was visiting Geelong for a few hours and had a chance to visit the barking dog. I absolutely loved it. The wine was very nice, music perfect and staff was very kind. :) Thank you!

Delicious original food that came out extremely fast, lovely wine, clean & well lit, with excellent attentive service from our waitress Andy.
