This is a review in-advance, as I will be going there *tomorrow* for no other reason than that it is my mum's favourite restaurant at the moment. I'm surprised to see some very old reviews here, from when this restaurant must have only just opened. Evidently they have learned and improved over the subsequent years as you can see from the reviews, which are much better recently! If I remember, I'll try to update this tomorrow. They would not, for no reason, have become my mum's restaurant of choice for me to take her on her birthday.... Ha! As it turns out, they are not open at midday on Saturday, so we'll have to go to another one on her list. If you're wanting to eat while visiting Geelong for the football, just a couple of hundred metres away, you'll need to wait until after 5 PM to eat here.
Best Thai we've had in Geelong so far. Very good service as well. We ordered one of the whole fish dishes, a thai noodle dish with calamari and a fried rice dish. Most mains don't have a vegetarian option, however.
Sometimes you go to an Asian restaurant, and the food is unfortunately smothered in MSG. You start to feel an uneasy feeling in your stomach, and then before you know it you’re thirstier than a camel roaming the Sahara.
This is certainly not the case for Lorm Thai.
Firstly, the service is flawless. Normally there is one woman who acts as the waitress and front of house, and she always has a friendly smile and great service, so 5/5 there.
The food is light and delicious. There’s a lot of it too which is great as well, but you dont feel sick if you eat it all.
The environment is cosy and home life (Considering it used to be a residential property), and it’s great when others are around you enjoying themselves.
Honestly, I would highly recommend, and would vote this my favourite Thai restaurant in Geelong, not because of the delicious food, but because of the service and atmosphere the restaurant provides.

Special occasion tonight with close friends at their wedding and they chose Lorn Thai in South Geelong. A variety of Thai dishes including Thai Green Curry, chicken and beef satays, a lovely noodles in sweet peanut sauce dish made for a good night out. Still rate Narai Thai in Bundoora more highly, but a nice place to eat nonetheless when looking for Thai in Geelong.
Hi! We like Lorm Thai and visit often during the week days for dinner. The food is fresh and tasty and mains are under $20 each. The service can be slow usually because there is only one waiter/waitress (family member) working but they make up for it with their food and friendly positive presentation. I would recommend going early on a Friday night as they get super busy. They do a lot of take away but the kitchen manages to get everything out well. Dishes are on par with other Thai places I have been but try the mango and sticky rice when in season, really good. Recommend and will be back without question. Enjoy!

Ordered combination for entree,
Very tasty, and a good size for entree, and cooked well.
For drinks, ordered a thai whiskey, was pretty good, tasted a bit watered down but went down okay.
For mains, we ordered thai green curry, and pad thai.
The pad thai with chicken, was delicious, had great flavour and a decent size meal.
The thai green curry was tasty, it seemed to be cold on arrival. But was still good and was a good size.
Ordered a medium rice, which was cooked well and there was too much for 2 people.
The thai waitress was lovely, a bit stingy on the straws and forgot our order of rice but I wasn't really bothered.
Overall a good outing, experience and good food. Worth going if your a fan of thai.

Good. I have had better Thai however they are friendly and food does come out fast....when they remember it. The few times I have been there they have forgotten someone's meal...

Pretty Good. My kids love the Pad Thai and I think the Red Curry chicken is 8/10. Panni Thai in Packo gets a higher rating from this black duck on the Red T. curry.
Overall they are having a red hot go and give them your patronage. Just watch the no parking out the front-I got $132. fine.
One of the best thai restaurant in geelong. Must try pad grapao, fish cake and kao pad ruammit. Ask for medium spicy.
