Have always had a good experience here. We have tried lots of items off the menu. The sushi is always a winner with the kids. Our favourite item is the char kway teow which has good char and spice. The wine selection could be a bit better for glass only purchases.
beautiful sushi! came here after a long day at the beach, was a very hot day and just needed a filling yet cold lunch. we left very satisfied!
Brilliant place for Japanese food in Geelong. Cleanly presented, delicious and fresh food during my lunch here. And looking at the other dishes coming out of the kitchen, this seems to be across the board. Well worth a visit.

The only thing I felt let the great experience down was the soy sauce was watered down, and the wasabi was mixed with something because I couldn't get that got burning feeling that you should get.
One of the better places for Japanese in Geelong. Food is always consistent, both the good (Tonkatsu Bento, Wafu Steak, Tatsua Age... MMM!!), and the not so good (Gyoza and Yakisoba... meh).
Good atmosphere, but the staff are rarely on top of their game, especially when things get busy. The size of the menu means your options aren't limited, and there's bound to be something for everyone. Biggest downside you be the prices, fact you can't split bills, and one of the highest EFTPOS limits I've seen in Geelong.
If you like Japanese food, yes. You should go here. If you're not sure what to try, get some appetizers, and a Tonkatsu Bento. Can't go wrong.
Great little sushi restaurant in the middle of Geelong. Standout was the seafood okonomyagi which was entree size but really generous. Agadashi tofu also great
Lunchtime. The Hi Sushi on Malop Street Geelong.
Upon entering you are greeted by a waitress wearing a short Kimono over jeans and a beautiful smile. The interior is decorated in traditional wallpaper and bamboo which adorn 2 walls including the ceiling. The food is well priced and after consuming 4 Gluten-free Sushi rolls and a Peach Iced Tea I was ready to enjoy the rest of my day. Thankyou for a pleasant lunch
Solid, cheap Japanese. The tonkatsu bento is good value and a solid meal. The dumplings are good and the sushi is reasonable. It's not going to beat a high end restaurant but if you're looking for the Geelong version of Don Too this is it!

I love hi sushi! Great quality food, super fast service and cheap prices! The goyza is a long time favourite, as is the garlic yaki rice! Definitely our go to place for Japanese in Geelong!
Great food, great price. A casual yet formidably pleasant dining experience. The food was very tasty (the grilled squid tepanyaki was perfectly cooked), in large servings and well-priced. Would definitely return here.
DEVINE!. Delicious fresh food! Will not disappoint. Not too bad priced. Will come back time and time again. Although the service is not very good and the staff don't have people skills. Shy maybe?
Compared to Melbourne CBD Japanese "restaurants", Hi Sushi is a few dollars overpriced and tastes just as good. A winner for Geelong though, yummy Jap cravings can be easily fulfilled!
Good Sushi. I always order the salmon sushi from here, sometimes it's really good other times not so much and is stringy.... staff have improved in service, will cut sushi up for you.
We love Hi Sushi. It is not really like other Japanese places. It is a bit like Japanese to have if you feel like Italian.
Look, I ABSOLUTELY love the food, I cannot express that enough, best Japanese I have ever had! However, the service has improved, I just wish, the staff were more confident, regardless of the language barrier.
Simple but nice. Have brekkie here today before went to Fairy Park. Their beef dishes were absolutely fabulous as the beef were tender and flavorful. Tempura slightly oily but batter are fluffy and taste good. Tonkatsu bento, the pork were over cook so its hard to chew. Miso soup was light to my little people liking, unlike those soup with msg. Overall, good food at reasonable price.
