My ratings are based on how the restaurant fared based on my expectations. And this place hit all my expectations and beyond.
It's not easy these days to run a small restaurant given the fierce competition out there. This place does not try to be fancy with its menu or the decor. It's a place where I feel at home, something my grandma would run if she had a restaurant.
And with those expectations set, this place has authentic dumplings with the hearty taste you'd want from such a place. Loved every bite of it.
Pan fried dumplings are crispy, the wanton soup is flavourful, and the hot sauce is actually hot.
Why go to a fancy place for an inferior, wacky dumpling when you can have the original here?

Great tasting dumplings and fast service. The steamed dumplings are drier than most yet very tasty. There is only table seating for 14 people. No sign of any facilities. Cash and card accepted. Probably a bit small for wheelchair dining in.

Delicious dumplings! Ordered some home made pork dumplings, chicken & prawn dumplings and steamed custard buns for take away. Ready in 15 minutes and we were enjoying them in no time.
Had to call in another order of pork dumplings and steamed custard buns to pick up for the trip home after.
If you're a fan of dumplings, this is your place!

Great little restaurant specialising in dumplings! Always loved the pan fried dumplings and this place does them so well. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. Nice today place in the heart of Geelong. Must visit to all you dumpling lovers out there.

Hands down the best dumplings I've ever had. All make from scratch in house, the service was great and it came out quick. We are visiting from Ballarat but will be making this a regular visit on our way through to Ocean Grove.

Dumplings good (have tried them all), rest of the menu not so much. Spring onion pancake, custard bun and the noodles for the wonton are rather disappointing. Still a place I frequent nonetheless

Yangji Dumpling is one of the best restaurants in Geelong. It is small in size but the food is delicious. Each time we have been, we did not have to wait long for a table.<br/>They make all their food fresh each day and if you’re lucky, you can watch one of the ladies make the dumplings at the window. The dumplings are cooked to perfection; steamed yet crispy on the bottom. Their spring onion pancake could do with a little more taste. <br/>Will be back again for certain. Well done!

Best dumpling in Geelong by far! Been many times coming here and always love their juicy dumplings. Do try their spring onion pancakes, made fresh, cheewy and crunchy. Whenever we feel like dumpling we’ll always heading here for sure.
