This small cafe just next to Glenhuntly station, truly authentic! Only 10mins driving distance from Chadstone, I came here with my friends before shopping at Chadstone! I was surprised by the quality of the coffee, really nice! Also it has a wide selection of foods, from healthy salads to gourmet burgers. Most of the cakes and pastries are made in house! We had spaghetti and housemade chicken mushroom pie. Overall, friendly staff, delicious food, clean and cozy environment! Will definitely come back!

Less than ten minutes drive from delightful Chadstone the fashion capital is St Zita’s, the patron saint of chai in my opinion as they serve up the most delicious 9 spice fresh wet chai with soy, honey and cinnamon. I’ve never come across this blend before but it is absolutely my new favourite.
I was so pleased to be invited to try St Zita’s today. I discovered a cute little local with some ripper looking cakes in the counter cabinet and a personal touch. Many customers were referred to by name which was so lovely to see. You can tell the staff are all really genuine. Easy street parking and accessible by tram, there are also plenty of crowd pleasers on the menu.
I couldn’t go pay the dukkha smashed avo with poachies, the standard Melbourne brunch dish, but given summers coming I also had to try the banana smoothie bowl because who doesn’t love a good smoothie bowl when they make you feel so pure and healthy? Both presented beautifully and were extremely delish. I could really taste the mint in the feta avo mash and talk about yolk porn. I was loving the fact that the dukkha and the chilli came separately so you could add as little or as much as you liked (ALL the dukkha for me and NONE of the chilli 😊) and amen to a very generous helping of the avo/feta.
I loved the textures in the smoothie bowl. Between the pepitas, shredded coconut and the slivered almonds there was plenty of crunch factor in each spoonful of the chia and yoghurt blended banana. Topped with lots of yummy fresh fruit too and garnished with sprigs of fresh mint it was a winning combination. The tartness of the passionfruit worked so well in contrast to the sweet banana and the bowl was super filling (or nourishing as the fitspos say).
So when the bread and butter pudding came fresh out the oven it looked amazing but I have a confession to make, I don’t actually like bread and butter pudding. OR SO I THOUGHT. I thought I’d just try it on account of how delicious it smelt but despite being so completely full already I actually couldn’t stop eating it. So unbelievably morish. Apparently even when you are so full you could burst. Next time you are shopping up a storm at chaddy this is definitely the spot for a lunch break and don’t you dare leave without trying the pud, especially if you, like I, are under the misconception this sweet is nothing special. Think again my friends. Right I’m off to lie down and put on some stretchy pants

St Zita's Cafe not only serves great food bout also has great customer service. With a pram and our new born bub, we were welcomed in and sat in the centre of the cafe. We started with some brilliant almond milk caps, followed by the fritters with salmon and scrambled eggs. A take away apple-crumble cruffin too. See you again this weekend.

It's very easy to overlook St. Zita's. Nestled between Indosari and an antique/second-hand furniture store, with no fancy bright signs to draw you in, St. Zita's seems quite content to shun the limelight. There's no bells and whistles, just a homely and welcoming atmosphere that greets you when you walk in. It seems like everyone knows each other here, and being a non-local, we were welcomed with open arms and made to feel like guests to their home. The causal and homespun theme continued with the arrival of the food. The breakky omelette and truffle mushrooms were both simple yet delicious dishes. No edible flowers, no over-the-top presentation, no fancy ingredients with unpronounceable names. It was all about letting the ingredients speak for themselves and complement one another. However, the one complain that we have is that the chorizo in the breakky omelette looked and tasted more similar to a spicy pork frankfurter than a chorizo; it was missing the element of smokiness and fattiness. That aside, it was a most enjoyable meal with an excellent cup of latte that was not only smooth but also full-bodied. Hidden gem, this must be it.

We got an Open omelette with chorizo, halloumi cheese, rocket and tomato relish! This was a great mixture of flavour - something different and also a generous size!

We also got a breakfast burger with hash browns on the side- this was also nice but something they could improve on would be the presentation of the dish or even have potato rosti/ homemade hash browns rather than the ones that look like we can get from the supermarket!

Overall good!

A true local gem, this cafe is cost and homey, you must try St Zita's!
The coffee is great and well priced, they also do a great soy chai and vanilla milkshakes!
We are regulars every weekend and have tried a variety of items from the menu. The toasties and croissants are simple yet divine, the early bird burger or frittas are always a huge hit with my partner. They have a great range of yummy specials, the brunch options are awesome but lunch is great too!
There's a huge range of sweet treats if that's your cup of tea.
Best of all is the service, Sonya and the team are so friendly and welcoming, we love the conversation as much as the food and drink.

(Tuesday 1/10/2016)

The place maybe small but it has so much choices of food, healthy food, was sad couldn't try most of it.
Ambience and interior was lovely and very chill.
Service was great. Staffs were friendly.
Came here with my mate and partner to enjoy a nice afternoon lunch.

My mate ordered the Cauliflower Super Breakfast, my partner ordered the Pumpkin Dukkah's Eggs and myself, the St Zita's Fritters with Salmon add on.
Although all of us loves meat, it was surprisingly delicious as all of the dishes are vegetarian, except the smoked salmon part. Haha

We ordered soy cappuccino, chai latte and hot chocolate. All of the drinks were very nice.

My partner really loved the place, and ask me to bring her back again for more. Definitely a nice place to recommend.

Funny story about this one. A few months ago, we were at a friend's wedding, chatting to one of my other high school friend's dad. Him and T were talking about T's new venture, and my friend's dad was recounting to T how he did some of his consulting work out of a local cafe.

St Zita's is my local and it doesn't disappoint. Coffee is always spot on, food options are varied and extremely tasty. Particularly partial to the green eggs and ham with a lovely addition of Israeli couscous. However one of the big reasons I keep going back is the service Sonya and her team are always welcoming and make you feel at home.

St Zita’s is a quaint little café in Glen Huntly where they serve tasty brunch meals. They have a range of items from bircher to burgers and there are lots of exciting dishes on the new menu. They have black forest French toast. Need i say more. St Zita’s – Inside. The atmosphere has a cosy vibe with the old music playing and the homely style décor.

I must admit, my excitement for the dish dampened slightly when I saw the absence of a fried coating around the fritters and their pancake-like appearance BUT to my surprise and delight, my taste buds ended up thoroughly blown away by the sensational crunch and flavouring captured in these fritters. Don’t judge a book by its cover indeed! The batter was beautifully seasoned, not too flour-y and bites of the fritters were studded with aromatic mint, zucchini and juicy bursts of sweetness from the corn kernels.

This small cafe just opposite the Glen Huntly railway station which I found a while back and popped in to be surprised by an authentic cup of coffee ... With friendly service by the owner i was explained why the roasts had changed so much since I first came to Melbourne... Reason being they have due to addition of so called flavours or subtractions thereof ... This cafe still serves coffee true its originality ... Try it for yourself..enough said!!

Greeted with a friendly smile. This place has a lovely ambience, lightening service, perfect flat whites and a menu that is reasonably priced and oh so tasty. I had the egg & bacon panini and made it disappear so fast the only evidence is the smile on my face.

Sometimes in life, beautiful things come to you when you needed it most. Had a less than perfect morning...cancelled meeting, missing wallet...etc

...and then I stumble on this little unassuming cafe. My coin pouch have just enough money for a coffee and a croissant...

For the timeliness for a perfect cuppa and exceptional friendly and wonderful service...my day changed.

Fellow foodie may be confused by a 5.0 rating for just a croissant & coffee. But hey...this is Zomato...I give whatever rating I want based on my happiness level it brings me. 😊

Thank you St Zita!!!

Will come back for food next time..

St Zitas is a cute “local” cafe in Glen Huntly. It is nice and cosy, with lots of light and homey touches. I was invited to try the menu out by the owner Carlo, a few weeks ago, and after checking out their Instagram (which has such yummy photos in it) I accepted. I really loved the interior design – it was very warm and welcoming. The picture frames are lovely.

Really cute local cafe that has some creative menu dishes on offer - such as scallops on pumpkin mash (really delicious.)

The corn fritters are the star here - a truly delicious stack of fritters with just the right amount of crunch, and lots of avocado, a gooey egg and more to go with it.
The food is artfully done - it looks fantastic on the plate and tastes great too.

The coffee is pretty average though still good. Don't expect latte art. They have some smoothies which look like they would be nice.

Also they have an adorable cake display which looks like it would be perfect to go with some tea.

Price wise this place is expensive for a suburban cafe in a lazy neighborhood. I would still defs give it a visit if you live in the area/ are passing through.

It is also very kid friendly - high chair and toys are available and the owner was very welcoming to families.

Summary: a cute cafe with food that is a notch above your average local.

If you’re on the hunt for a great local cafe in the Glen Huntly area, look no further than St Zita. Situated near Glen Huntly station, this little cafe offers friendly service, delicious food and decent cup of coffee. I visited midweek on a rainy Melbourne day with the little man in tow for a quick bite to eat. We sat ourselves near the window so I could tuck my stroller out of the way, but given it was cold near the door, Sonia (cafe owner) came right over and turned the heater on for us. We settled in under the warmth of the heater, I got a coffee and had a look at the menu.

We later ordered an almond croissant which was one of the best around the area. Also, the staff was very friendly. Definitely coming back 👍🏻

They were tenderly seared scallops atop a pumpkin rosti with bacon dust (!), sweet chilli jam and avocado and lime hollandaise.  You had me at BACON DUST.  Her only regret was that it didn't come with a gigantic hunk of bread for her to mop up all the sauce she was tempted to lick off the plate. Meanwhile I opted for the Beetroot Labna.  This was off their specials board and consisted of multi grain bread, shredded beetroot, perfectly poached eggs and dollopings of ricotta and pomegranate molasses.  Once again, a lovely melding of sweet and savoury. Being a cold drizzly kind of day, we warmed up with pots of organic tea.  Bureaucrat went Earl Grey and I tried the French Breakfast which had a touch of vanilla. We were too full to try the sweet offerings...will definitely earmark this for next time... St Zita's staff were warm and friendly and the cafe had a cozy vibe. Verdict:  We liked it a lot Overall St Zita's is a gem of a local cafe with friendly staff. They take the creature comfort of traditional brunch/cafe fare and provide their own twist.

everyone loves having “a local”. be it a bar for a cheerful beer after work, a good pub for a parma on that tuesday night when you just don’t feel like cooking, or for that laid-back late saturday breakfast. and “a local” is exactly why i love melbourne so much. my husband + i often talk about how pretty much every suburb of melbourne could be self-sufficient towns in themselves, each complete with their own pub and local cafe. my trip to glen huntly, in melbourne’s south-east proved exactly that. easy access to public transport + a bustling main street complete with hairdresser, grocers, pub and the ever-important “local” for breakfast. my brunch this morning was at st. zita’s, a cozy and homely cafe which opened in august of last year. the drinks menu is extensive and offers a range of teas, freshly squeezed oj, cold pressed juice, smoothies + milkshakes. we opted for the mangozita smoothie (mango, banana, milk + vanilla yoghurt) which was creamy + refreshing.

Great little place! We'd seem something on the outside menu board a week beforehand but it'd gone by the time we made it back there. But they whipped it up for us anyway. This place has a great feel about it ~ relaxed ambiance, chatty staff & good wholesome food. Minus the loud music too which is great. We'll be back to try the things others are raving about.

Prompt service, great atmosphere and good coffee. This is my local cafe. Whenever i get a chance, i go here. A few reasons for that:-
1) The owner is lovely and very attentive
2) coffee is good
3) the place is very inviting

Food was great and now it's not too bad ( may be the chef has changed)
If the previous chef comes back then this place has a lot more potential

What a delicious breakfast!!!. I took a friend here for breakfast & was so pleasantly surprised at the creativity & quality of the food. i opted for a lunch item of scallops over lovely fried pumpkin - lovely & delicious! My friend had the breakfast sandwich of a fried egg, crispy bacon, tomato & aioli on a brioche roll served with hash browns. She must have enjoyed it, as she had a big smile on her face while eating it! The cafe is charming & not overcrowded, like too many other cafes in the area. The owner is very beautiful & warm, which makes for a great welcoming & relaxing experience.

The place has a really cosy atmosphere but unlike some other places people weren't jammed in like sardines. Staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Asian brunch @stzitas is perfect for your weekend dining plans. Comforting, delicious Asian curries, burgers, Asian desserts and so much more @stzitas has to offer. The decor is very quirky with cute little corners of games and music, and anime character dolls and plushies here and there. The ambiance is very relaxing, and charming. What we had here: St Zita’s burger, juicy, tempting and very addictive one it is, also I’d say quite fresh to eat too. Must try for sure. Curry chicken served with steamed rice, the chicken was packed with flavours with a subtle hint of spiciness, but it’s perfect antidote for chilly winter afternoons. The chicken is tender and very yummy to eat, strongly recommended. Chicken waffles with maple syrup, the waffles were bit dry and thick, but rest assured, the fried chicken was absolutely mouthwatering and so perfectly crisp on the outside and tender from the inside. Brown sugar Boba chiffon cake, absolutely delightful, delectable and very irresistible, the fluffy cake with the boba will melt inside your mouth right from the very first bite, strongly recommended. Japanese strawberry crepe cake was very fresh, light and really tasty. Must try. We also had a match latte and hot chocolate, both were equally satisfying to drink. We also had a berry smoothie which was really refreshing in taste. The prices of the items are extremely reasonable and pocket friendly, and the staff are all here very cheerful and welcoming in nature and the service is very prompt and friendly. So guys checkout this cute little asian cafe @stzitas this week with your friends and family for a sumptuous and amazing brunch/breakfast.
