I was visiting Melbourn for holidays from USA and, I had stopped by at Mr Foxx while I was sight seeing. I was greeted by very friendly staff with excellent service. The food and coffee we're really great Falafel and Corn Fritters were my favorite. The cafe is very spacious and comfortable in excellent setting. I highly recommend this cafe to everyone.
Consistently great food and coffee. The go-to place for a family Breckky. Warm vibe and friendly efficient service.
My old usual breakfast haunt. Consistent food and coffee and a great feel inside. The staff are also incredibly friendly.
Excellent food, excellent service and a great atmosphere!
The best !!!! coffee in the town nice tasty like hazelnut ,dark cocoa caramel and blackcurrency. The barista so professional to introduce the flavour that their single original and blend coffee . We try their new special food and so excellent. What a nice and lovely cafe in this town
Been here today for lunch , delicious food with very friendly service. Love the chai latte , hubby says the coffee was awesome. We love this cafe . š
Intending to meet friends for breakfast and with the habit of being perpetually early a pep tea was ordered while waiting. Unfortunately there was then a change of plans to an alternate venue so the tea had to be hastily drunk before a speedy departure. Until next time
I had previously chosen to go to Beans Republique just down the road for my late lunch but ended up walking out after 30 minutes of no service and I had plans for the afternoon. I walked into Mr Foxx and the atmosphere was amazing! Seated and given water straight away, my coffee was in my hands within 5 minutes and the hotcakes I ordered arrived not long after!! Very quick considering they were quite busy. The food was amazing and staff very friendly. Will be returning. :-)
Brunch for 9. We all enjoyed the food very much, especially the burgers. The patty was juicy and the chips were a good thickness, fried but not overly oily. The frittatas would be perfect if not a little burnt.
Love this place...great loose leaf tea. Great prana chai lates food consistently good. Good service
Good spaces inside and out the back. Love the options
Went there with work, couple of staff and a disability group including a gentleman in a wheelchair. Staff were great and were lovely and helped us with our requirements. We were there for morning tea; ie. drinks, great coffees, tea & delicious cakes! Would have no hesitation in returning with our groups.
Came across this place on a sunny winterās Saturday. Nice decor and setup. Coffees were great, right temperature and tasty beans. We had the corn fritters and the souvide beef brisket benedict. Corn fritters were very nice. Crunchy, tasty, lots of texture. Eggs were poached perfectly on both dishes. I felt that the caramalised onions on the beef were a little on the sweet side. The dish needed something else like feta cheese to balance it. Overall, great breakfast.
So weāve had a good run lately and found another great brunch place! Lucky us! Mr Foxx has been a cafe in which weāve driven past a number of times and one where we often say we probably should check out and then just never get around to it. Well on this occasion we made that effort and boy did it pay off!
My staple place for coffee. Tried most of the coffees on the menu and never disappointed.
Their breakfast options are also good and sumptuous.
Overall a nice place to goš
Considering nearly if not all brunch places serve smashed avo, this place makes the best one by far especially for vegans!!
Avo was topped with lots of nuts and dried fruit, absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend it.
The corn and zucchini fritters were ok, slightly over-fried.
One of the few places that allow you to substitute eggs with other sides.
Ive eatten at Mr Foxx on a number of times, for breakfast and also lunch.
The breakfast menu isnt the the largest but its enough. I love the Rhubarb and crumble porridge.
Food is always on point, and coffee is great too.
Service staff are friendly and everyone keeps busy.
This place has a good vibe.
Great little cafe, excellent service, friendly staff and good coffee. The only let down was the food. Our order got mixed up and by the time it arrived it was just warm.
Tried the beef cheeks with celeriac purƩe - was incredible! The almond milk late delicious as well. Cosy but spacious, lots of little pockets. Seemed loud at first but no trouble hearing conversation. Will definitely be back!

Came here for a quick lunch. Liked the vibe of the cafe - liked the music they were playing. Indulged with the burger. It was solid and the chips were good, but nothing overly special about it. Wouldn't mind coming back and trying something else
A trendy cafe, along Malvern Road. It is in a corner location, with a glass facade on two sides offering street views. Inside the decor is smart, modern, Ā urban, with a distressed timber floor, Ā and an off-white colour scheme with suspended light fittings. One wall sports a large "tree house" mural. The tables are in chunky timber, with stylish timber and steel framed chairs. The dining area is spacious, and there is Ā a large brick-paved courtyard out back. On this occasion, I came only for coffee, and I was welcomed and attended to cheerily. The coffee was good, and check of the menu suggested that there is reasonably interesting fare, with some vegetarian options. In terms of ambience, it was a little noisy with people chatter and top hits type music in the background, but otherwise an inviting venue. This smart modern cafe is worthy of a visit.
Always a treat visiting this popular brunch spot. The changing menu always means there's something new to try. The coffee can't be faulted and the staff is always polite and courteous. Food is always of high quality if leaning towards the more expensive side of traditional brunch fair but worth it. Only downside would be its own popularity which often means a a louder atmosphere than some may be happy with. But you can always sit outside and order an extra hot coffee.
Had lunch with my friends and the food were just AH-MAZING!! I had a very hard time deciding whether I wanna get the mushroom on toast (the black truffle oil was kept calling me) or the Foxx Benedict. Finally decided to had the Foxx Benedict & keep the mushroom on toast as a reason to come back next time.
Anyway, it's beef brisket with poached egg, caramelized onion, spinach and potato foam. Loving it to bits! I should've took picture of the plate after the meal moved into a new home-my satisfied stomach. The aftermath, well just say the plate is a very lonely place.
Then, my stomach decided that the house isn't full enough and insisted of ordering some desserts (it will regret the decision later when it sees itself in the mirror)- but thought; whatever it's cold, body burn more energy when it's cold.
So dessert we had, the french toast with banana, peanut butter parfait, salted caramel n cocoa- it was huge. (Note to self: don't be greedy- u can't have 2 menu and had it finished) so we share. There's a lot of textures in those plate. Warm toast-cold ice-saltiness that balance the sweet, crunchiness that balance the soft. It hard not to finished it all.
I didn't try any of my friends' mains but it looks yummy as well. Especially the croquettes (did dip my spoon to have a sip of the sauce though) - it's gonna be perfect for a cold day, which is ahead of us now. They are all very happy with the foods.
I'm a regular here, but I'm really lovin' their new menu. I really think Mr.Foxx Benedict should stay forever there, well at least 4 good seasons. I would be sad if whenever I wanna have it, it's not there anymore (already sound my selfish desire to the owner, the rest I could do is just pray). Coffee is up to my taste. I like it strong šŖš¼
Going to Mr.Foxx on cold days is my favorite, it feels like coming to my grandma's house. It has the similar feel to it, the smell of wood fire š„, it's cozy, warm and always has a good food. Will always come back. I haven't tried all of their menu and I have to! š Well done chef
Had a spectacular time today at Mr Foxx! My Burger was made to perfection and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The food was quick but made with love and life. Will definitely return!
Went for a lunch last weekend and it was the best falafel salad in town!!!! Super attentive service, with all staff keep smiling even though it's full house. Coffee was awesome, definitely be back to try the whole menu!
Great coffee today at Mr foxx! Love the padre beans and a good beef burger!!! Service was quick and overall feel is quirky and lively, will be back soon for another coffee fix
Best coffee in Melbourne! Don't have to order a double shot strong enough without any bitterness. and coffee is consistent Love coming here always looked after and the food is top quality and super tasty.
Had only the flat white in the morning. Was greeted warmly by the service staff. Ambience of the cafe really cosy and sets you in the right mood. Coffee was well made and the blend is quite nice tasting, stronger than my usual local blends but good. Great service. Would return for the food too & the coffee. Thanks Mr Foxx. :)
coffee at mr foxx is the best you can get for your morning fix
tasty seasonal menu with lots of varieties and finally the immaculate service always good to be there
Mr Foxx, a local classic. Been coming here for 5yrs and it keeps getting better and better. Love their scrambled eggs and make up my own brekky to go with it, coffee by Padre is extracted to perfection every time by Norm. Service is outstanding as is the menu. Open fire in winter can't be beaten and they do a great burger night on Friday nights which I frequent with friends. Little Boss loves the corn fritters pictured.
Spacious and comfortable setting to have a long and quality conversation.Ā
Had a long black and corn fritters. The coffee was nice; I was told it was a dark roast but it didn't taste as bold as expected but it was delicious either way. The fritters were a Ā little too oily and the batter layered a little thick but as a whole the dish was alright. Staff were friendly and I appreciated the service.Ā
Overall, its worth a visit for the ambience, staff and coffee.
Lovely cafe in malvern road, with friendly staff and really good coffee. They have a nice little courtyard out the back too. They also do nice counter top sweets.
Nice environment, with a bit of space to stretch out. A bit of a rarity in Melbourne these days - inspired by Parisian cafƩs perhaps, or extortionate rents... Haven't eaten here but have popped in twice for drinks - the coffee and chai latte were both good. Friendly vibe and will visit again.
Mr foxx is another great place to go to when your in Malvern. The ambience, the buzz, the service and their coffee is great which we always have at least 2 each on a sitting. Breaky is great and their lunches are delicious. I always have their lamb and my wife has their amazing falafels with the salads being of interesting, crisp and always fresh.
We also take some homemade muffins for home, well done foxx always relaxing and very enjoyable.
Great place for a nice coffee in Malvern fantastic produce and good customer service with a smile. Highly recommend the poached eggs with salmon
Friendly and attentive staff. Wonderful food. Great ambience:Ā the roomĀ is open and light.Ā The coffee was perfect and the scrambled eggs were delicious. The children loved the milkshakes.
Pretty good coffee, friendly staff and attentive service. This place has a great atmosphere. The muffins always look delicious and taste amazing and GF toast are also great!
Absolutely love this cafe! It is our go-to cafe - it is unpretentious, humble and reliable. I have never needed to wait for a table on the weekends, and the food + coffee is consistent. The soft shell crab burger is amazing - do yourself a favour and try it!!
I have become a regular visitor of Mr Foxx, a fantastic local cafe along a rather quiet strip of Malvern road. The actual cafe is quite large and as a frequent visitor I have never had to wait for a table, due to additional covered outdoor seating out the front and back. The interior has been stylishly decorated to highlight the character of the building and a special mention must go to the eclectically designed chairs dispersed through the cafe, which I absolutely love! The service is consistently efficient with very friendly wait staff and short waits for food to arrive. The menu has a variety of delicious options, a personal favourite of mine is the lamb shoulder in brik pastry which is both a feast for the eyes and mouth. I will definitely be returning!
Great menu, nice coffee, pronto service, great atmosphere friendly and attentive staff. All in one package. Definitely will come back again.
Lovely local cafe with a something for everyone menu. My middle eastern falafel dish was excellent. The fries my friend had with his burger were delish. The team were great also.
This spacious cafe means minimum to no waiting time at all, which is very rare especially on a Sunday morning! Great service was provided by the friendly and approachable staff. We didn't have to wait long for our food too. I ordered the corn fritters and it was one of the best ones I've had - simple, but yet full of flavour!
Always a pleasure to stop by and grab a quick coffee or something to eat.
Lovely staff, friendly atmosphere, I love the variety of the menu and the variety of different coffee blends. Highly recommended!!
Eat And Be Merry Crew
+4.5
The lamb is an absolute standout. A thin crisp pastry parcel is served with red quinoa tabbouleh salad, baba ghanoush and minted yoghurt. The salad is a lovely looking confection with a crunchy nutty element that appears to come from pieces of toasted almond. It tastes as good as it looks, and I havenāt even mentioned the lamb. The lamb is soft, juicy and full of flavour, no knife required.
Menu - Great variety to choose from with all the bests!!! Lunch menu looks Devine!!
Service - very frequently and attentive staff and really nice chefs in the kitchen always smiling!!
Atmosphere - great interior loving the bench seating across the window looking outside and lots of communal tables great!!
Food/ Coffee - Food was lovely!!! Eggs cooked to absolute perfection and tomatoes and spinach Devine!!! Busy little place for coffee first thing in the morning!!
Great little cafe in Malvern, worth a breaky session on a weekend with friends for sure or a lazy lunch!! šš
We came in a big number, there was 9 of us. They accommodate us perfectly. They take booking and we were allocated to our seats at the second floor., Looking at the venue it was cozy, homey, and large spaces. Beside the second floor they also have seating at the courtyard. The food that we get to taste it's their
PAN FRIED SALMON FILLET 150G, RATATOUILLE, ROASTED BABY ONIONS & SALMON FLOSS $18
The salmon cooked to perfection but I think the ratatouille was overwhelming the taste of the salmon. It is still enjoyable dish after all.
TONKATSU GLAZED PORK NECK, DAUPHINE POTATO, FENNEL & APPLE SLAW $17.5
The potato was so yummy, I do wish I have more of it. All the combination of the flavor was delicate and harmonious. I do enjoy eating this dish and I also wish for more meat on the plate. Without the potato the overall dish can be dry.
Overall me and my friends, enjoy our dining there. The staff is professional and friendly. They gave our food all in the same time and did not forget to take our drink order while we wait to decide for our menu. Non of the order was wrong and everything in the timely manner. Will come back again to try more of their dish
See you again.

Really nice cafe, especially when sitting out in the courtyard on a warm-ish day. Good food, good service, usually pretty easy to get parking nearby. Hard to pick fault.
For a Wednesday it was pretty busy. Obviously a good sign the locals come here. Went with a co worker for a quick lunch, even though we were in a work clothing (hi vis) we we made to feel welcome. The place is bigger than it looks with upstairs and a courtyard. I had the soft shell crab burger with fries for $17, came out with minimal delay. Good size, can pick it up with hands without it spilling everywhere. Tasted great with the unconventional filling.
This place continues to amaze me. How can a cafe serve food so quickly, that is so nice, all the time. This place is amazing. Food service is quick and tasty. The coffee is very nice as well. It can get a bit noisy given the wooden floors, and the chairs scratching along them, but other then that, I will continue to return.
Delicious food with generally reasonable prices. Very friendly staff who don't push you out of the door as soon as you've finished your meal. Food came very quickly considering there were quite a few other diners.
A nice place for breakfast. Always good service and coffee too. We were disappointed that eggs benedict was removed from the menu. Can be a bit noisy at times. Their inability to split bills can be annoying.
This place is great - the food is delicious (corn fritters mmmmm), coffee is perfect and service is always great. The only downside is that it often gets too busy for the staff and kitchen and coffee machine to cope with - our rule is if it looks too busy, we sadly go elsewhere as it can get very frustrating.
Hadn't been to Mr Foxx for a while and was pleasantly surprised when we headed there for breakfast on a cold Sunday morning. Coffee was really good improved a lot since our last visit. Service was really good and the food was served quickly and everyone was happy with their meals. Will return again and will be my regular local coffee shop from now on.
Use to live nearby and always my first stop in the mornings for coffee. The smashed avo is the best around ( and I've had a few ) lovely friendly staff and quick service, even on a busy Sunday :))
I ordered the āAtlantic Salmon Fish Cakes with tartare sauce, fresh herb salad and green peas ($17.00)ā. Two enormous, golden fish cakes made mostly of mashed potato were very filling but delicious. The perfect amount of creamy tartare sauce complimented the fish cakes. The succulent peas and the herb salad added freshness and I must say that despite the size of the dish, barely a trace remained on my plate.
Possibly the best customer service I have experienced at a cafe. Waiter was polite and friendly, and made me laugh quite a few times (which I needed because I was feeling a bit grumpy). He anticipated my needs before I even asked. Coffee was served quickly and was beautiful. Ordered the smashed avocado and poached egg on seed bread, this was also served very quickly - not even 10 minutes after ordering. The meal was delicious, and as I said, customer service was amazing. Will definitely be coming back, and recommending to others! The waiter made my day, I hope he is there next time I visit.
Great coffee, great muffins and service was just right. No complaints here.
Try the burger!. Excellent tasty burger served with enough crispy fries for the whole family to share.
Delicious and decent value too.
Wow. Just read all the comments below about rude staff etc. Feel like I might have just had a lucky experience!
The barrista. A very good bloke... Just don't piss him off.
Consistently good. Have bee going to Mr Foxx that last 2 years with friends & family. We have never had a bad experience. The coffee is always nice and the food is always good. The staff aren't pushy and in your face as so many places are-they are nice and helpful. Have never had a bad experience there
The coffee is easily the best around the area. Previous beige reviewers that disliked the coffee should perhaps stick to something more familiar and boil up a Nescafe 43 at home.
Whingers.. I wanted to say Foxx has been consistently good over the years, and please be aware that if people have a.good experience they'll rarely come here to praise. Most people come.here to bash cafes because they feel hard done by for a 10 minute wait on a take away or they thought they ordered poached but they actually ordered scrambled and forgot. for every negative review there's 1000 happy customers you'll never hear from. Think about that, and consider supporting your local cafe on Urbanspoon to outweigh the whingers.
Love it!. Great coffee and brekkie. I'm turning into a regular :)
Ticks all the foxes, I mean boxes. Tastefully decorated, and fitted out with some very comfortable furniture (a rarity now with so many cafes with hard stools), this place ticks all the boxes. The staff are attentive and enthusiastic to please, the coffee is consistently good and the food I have eaten has been of very good quality. This place is casual enough to take yourself out for lunch and special enough for a family birthday.
Always great coffee and very friendly staff. Food doesnāt try to be anything extra. Fairly priced and a nice atmosphere
Had the Eggs Benedict with beef brisket and it was amazing! Big portion size, and I pretty much didn't have to eat again all day! My only mistake was not taking a photo.
Great cafe, long Mach is reliably good. Quick friendly service. Iām fanatical about the Chilli scrambled eggs. Very accommodating of children.
My āGo Toā place for breakfast in Melbourne if Iām in the south-eastern suburbs, and it did not disappoint.
Good variety of food and drinks, great coffee, pots of real leaf tea, fresh orange juice, water arrived as we sat down.
The menu is not extensive but it has the right amount of variety and caters for vegans, lactose intolerant diners and ordinary people who like their food. I have always enjoyed every meal Iāve had there and just loved my smashed avocado, feta and pomegranate on multi-grain toast.
Back to Melbourne = back to Mr Foxx.
Comparable to Archieās all-day in Fitzroy (and thatās saying something).
I was looking for a coffee and an almond croissant in Malvern area and drove past Mr Foxx. The coffee is nice. I had a warm almond croissant which was crisp and fresh. This cafe also has a lovely ambience. Will visit here again for breakfast with family.
