I moved from NSW a few years ago and there was a little family owned Thai restaurant there that was amazing. Every Thai I've tried in VIC just didn't match the standards, until now.
This place is fantastic. Beautiful, authentic dishes, and the staff are so friendly and hospitable. Highly recommend.
Best thai food in town, every time i come to eat at Little Thai Princess make me feel like i am in thailand. Great environment, friendly staffs, real thai food taste. If you haven't tried this restaurant yet I would recommend it i will be back
Lovely decor and ambience that sets the mood for an enjoyable dining experience.
The food was authentic, with the right balance of flavours and fresh ingredients.
Staff was attentive and overall I am really impressed with this restaurant.
Went here purely on star ratings posted here. Recommend it highly
Beautiful little restaurant and fantastic food, would definitely go back again
These guys are awesome! Great food and customer service!
Delicious Thai food and always great service! Keep up the good work!
Lovely food and great service. We will be back.
The most delicious of Thai Restaurant in the world
First time here. Busy little Restaurent. The service here was friendly but a little slow. We really enjoyed the food here and the staff are authentically Thai. Food was delicious, well flavoured and tasty!
Enjoyed everything about this place from the food to service to decor - a hidden local treasure!
We went to this lovely little restaurant next to Gardiner station last night. The place was neat and clean. The food was well presented and delicious! You could tell the ingredients were fresh and the flavours were really well balanced. The staff were very friendly, they were nice enough to even fix up an issue using zomato which was in fact our error! Would definitely recommend.
The only Thai restaurant we love to keep coming back! Authentic and delicious Thai cuisine. Friendly service and affordable pricing for the quality of their dishes! Highly recommended!
Authentic gem tucked away on a busy road! Really loved the interior decorations and the faint hint of incense in the restaurant. The red duck curry, soft shell crab curry, and pad thai were probably the best Thai food we’ve had in the south east of Melbourne. Super flavourful curry base and pad Thai was packed of flavour too. Staff were super friendly and service was amazing! Highly recommend if you’re looking for an authentic Thai experience!
Found this lovely place using Zomato Gold and definitely wasn’t disappointed! We ordered the Pad Thai and Red Duck Curry. Food was served very quickly and staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back, great food!
We did it, we finally got our Zomato gold membership! Our journey dining at the participating restaurants begins today.
What we liked and didn’t like so much.
👍👍👍
* The pad thai was a standout, seriously some good eats here
* Wonderful customer service, very welcoming and explained the Zomato gold process to us in great detail
* Cosy atmosphere
👎👎👎
* The red duck curry and the coconut rice didn’t have much coconut flavour, maybe we’ve been spoiled by other Thai places like Kerabu but we won’t be ordering this one again
* The stick rice dessert wasn’t available, which was a bummer but since mango isn’t in season, makes sense. 🤷♂️
Would we come again?
You bet! 15 minutes from home an entire menu waiting to be discovered and a Zomato gold membership in our grasp, we’ll be surprised if we aren’t back within the month.
Closer to 4.5 stars
A neighborhood gem hidden inside an unassuming small corner store. Conveniently located minutes walk from Gardiner station.
Welcomed by smiling friendly servers. We ordered 2 dishes from the Chef’s recommendations section;
Crispy Seafood Curry:
generous serving of seafood, covered by a thin super crispy batter. Sitting on top of a bed of vegetables and creamy rich lightly spiced coconut curry. Delightful! Highly recommend! Would willing come back again for this dish: 10/10
Sizzling Beef Oyster:
Flavors were great, however the beef was extremely sinewy and tough. Either a poor cut or over cooked. We devoured the vegetables that had soaked up the tasty sauce but generally avoided the beef. Probably give this one a miss: 6/10
Included a side of fragrant coconut rice.
Genuinely friendly and helpful service. Cozy, comfortable atmosphere. We decided to try this place as they welcome Zomato Gold. But would happily come back again, even without discounts for the seafood curry and to try the other items on the menu.

Found this place on Zomato gold. Menu was much better than one uploaded on Zomato (takeaway menu).
Staff were super friendly and catering to all our needs.
The soft shell crab and seafood volcano was good . Serving could be a bit larger.
The Thai milk tea was great.
Note: park 2 P next to the train station . First left turn. Front is 15 min and 2 min parking.
We had the Princess banquet and ordered crying beef salad, fish hotpot, massaman beef curry, caramelised pork hock, red duck curry, and fried banana with mango and vanilla ice cream. There was an additional entree dish comprising of fish cake, curry puffs, coconut prawns and chicken and prawn parcels.
I loved the massaman (so tender), pork hock (cubes of crispy outsides, facty tasty insides), curry puffs and parcels (so delicious). Others dishes were nice but the above were outstanding.
The wine corkage is $4 pp.
Service attentive and food served promptly. Lovely dining experience.
Thanks to Zomato Gold, we decided to explore new restaurants. We came across Little Thai Princess and it was fairly close to us (we were from Glen Waverley).
Staff - They were friendly and there was no issues with customer service at all. I called around 5.30pm to make a reservation for 4 people at 7.30pm, staff was happy to accommodate it. In addition, they were happy to answer any questions I had without any issue.
Location & Ambience - The place is small but cozy. Location wasn't too bad, located right next to Gardiner station (Glen Waverley Line). There is street parking but its only for 15 minutes (9am-9pm). Best if you park at the station itself (5minute walk approx).
Food - We really enjoyed our food. The presentation was good, quantity was sufficient. There was lots of flavor in all dishes.
We ordered the following:
Entree: Spring Rolls (Vegetarian) - 4 pieces
Mains:
1 x Red Curry (Chicken)1 x Green Curry (Chicken)1 x Pad Thai (Chicken)1 x Chilli Basil Fried Rice (Chicken) - This order was made using the take away menu.
Dessert: Ice-Cream (Coconut & Mango)
Menu - Menu for this place was quite interesting. They had few dishes listed in the takeaway menu that weren't listed in the dine-in menu. However, the restaurant was happy for us to order few dishes off the takeaway menu (the price will be different as it is dine-in).
Price - For a Thai restaurant, this place was quite pricey. I've been to many Thai restaurants across Melbourne, I just felt this place was a little pricey compared to the average price charged by other Thai restaurants. Lucky for us, we had 2 Zomato Gold memberships, so two main dishes were free for us (Saved around $45). The final price was around $84 for us which we thought was pretty good given the amount of food we ordered.
Conclusion - I honestly think I'll return to this restaurant in the future if I'm in the area. The only thing I'd consider before coming is if I'm willing to pay a roughly $60-70 for 2 people
Good customer service and really tasty food! The spices were just right in each dish, and the spiciness was just to my liking. There was also a great variety of choices on the menu. Will defiantly come back!
Looking for a delicious inner suburb Thai place in Melbourne? Then come to Little Thai princess in Glen Iris and try their amazing red duck curry and chicken satay on skewers! Definitely must try :D
Been going here for the past 3 years, and if you are looking for authentic Thai this is definitely the place to go. Although it might seem overpriced at first glance, for the quality and quantity you get it is all worth it. Highly recommend their red curries, soft shell crab curry and the Barramundi dish. Some staff members can be extremely rude though while the others are friendly. Overall, end up going back here everytime since the food is great.
We had an enjoyable family dinner at Little Thai Princess. Even mid week it was fairly busy.
The food was all tasty and top quality. We had a seafood dish from the Chef's Specials and it was superb, unfortunately I can't remember the exact name. Other highlights were the Beef Salad and Green Curry Chicken. The service was friendly and very helpful.
Note that the prices are much higher in the restaurant than on the Zomato menu. For example, Green Curry Chicken was about $23 whereas the Zomato menu shows $14.80. Still, the quality is well worth the price.
The place is cute and well decorsted, albeit stuffy. No a/c . The food was tasty but overpriced for what you get. The volcano seafood stirfry was missing mussels despite advertising and also costing $29. If mussels were present, it would be a 4/5. Altogether having 3 small prawns, 1 scallop, 2-3 pieces of calamari and tiny battered fish. Overall, takeaway is probably better. The lamb stir fry was actually beef, also $29, neither huge but nice taste. Basically, we will not come back to eat in but may give it a shot at takeaway. Also the napkins were missing until we got our food and had to ask. The napkins are very huge and stiff, not suitable for mouth. Need tissues, too. Friendly service but there is a lot of room for improvement.
We ordered takeaway - the green curry, coconut rice and spring rolls. Loved it all! Only negative - we should have ordered more food, maybe another curry. Will definitely be back!
Had a splendid dining experience on Saturday night at Little Thai Princess. I had used their online booking system during the week, but hadn't heard anything back, so I was worried that it hadn't gone through, but on Saturday afternoon I got a call, checking that I still wanted the booking...and obviously took it! The dining room was quite empty when we got there at 6:30pm, however we noted that nearly all the tables had 'reserved' signs on them. The dining would fill up by 7:30pm. We were greeted at the door and taken to our table by the very lovely floor staff. The mood of the restaurant was casual and quietly relaxing.
The menu read very nicely, with a large range of amazing sounding Thai dishes. Mr B & I went with an entree of a Princess Platter which provided us with a pair of their flavourful curry puffs, soft and fluffy fish cakes, crunchy coconut prawns and their Princess Chicken Prawn, which was a crispy fried cup of stir fried delicious mince. The satay dipping sauce that accompanied the platter was lovely. For mains we ordered the Tom Yum Prawn Hot Pot which was intensely spicy and sour. This dish was the highlight for me! Second main was the Honey Beef stir fry which was coated again in an intense honey soy sauce that I loved, but Mr B thought was sweeter than expected. For a side dish, we ordered the soft shell crab salad, which could have been found in any quality high end Asian Fusion restaurants.
Overall I was very impressed with Little Thai Princess. For a suburban, unassuming frontage, Thai restaurant, we received excellent service and great quality dishes. Excellent choice if you have a hankering for Thai and you're in the area.
The food is extremely high quality. I also like that there are interesting combinations of food you won’t find in your average Thai place.
Seats are padded and comfortable and it’s BYO!
Def. best Thai in the area.
A suburban Thai gem. This restaurant serves tasty, quality Thai food at reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and do their best to make sure you enjoy your meal. I really enjoyed the entrees such as chicken satays, duck spring rolls and curry puffs. Their beef massaman and chicken curry was also tasty. Went back again and food was even better - amazing yellow curry and spicy lamb (Chefs special).
Amazing authentic Thai food which is so delicious no matter what dish you order. All the staples are done so well - pad Thai, Thai beef salad, green curry. We are regulars now even though it's not near us!
Restaurant is good for a date night. Was busy for a Friday night. We ordered the red duck curry, fried rice and pork hock. Curry and fried rice was a little sweet, and the pork hock a little oily. Overall all dishes were tasty. Not likely to return due to the prices. Please be mindful the menu on Zomato is not updated. The prices are actually about doubled what's on the Zomato menu. The curry was $28, fried rice $20. Lots of good thai places that are more affordable.
Food is excellent, so no complaints there. But it is indeed a pricier option for Thai, and so the value is not the best. Service was quite slow too at a time the restaurant didn't seem all that busy.
Loved the Thai food here. Really flavorsome dishes. Stand out dish of the evening was the crab curry, I could eat that forever!! Serves were perfect too.
I haven't been able to find an authentic Thai restaurant since moving from NSW to VIC a few years ago, until now. Little Thai Princess is fantastic, from the atmosphere of the restaurant, to the friendly service of the staff, to the delicious food. The prices are a bit high, but in my opinion it's well worth it. For reference, me and my family went here and we ordered:
Duck spring rolls
Salt and pepper chicken
Beef Massaman curry
Spicy lamb
Satay chicken
Caramelised pork hock
Everything was 5 stars. I will be back!
Came here on a thursday and it was so fully booked! We had the pad thai and lotus salad which were divine. Flavourful and nicely presented, dessert was the coconut pudding and coconut drink- delish!
I went for dinner to this Thai restaurant and I enjoyed the food very much. It's the ideal place to share food (I don't like eating from the same plate, but I enjoy sharing food from the serving plate when everybody eats in his own plate). The crispy seafood with curry is delicious, I totally recommend it, as well as the coconut pudding. At the end. The atmosphere is very cozy and quiet, which makes this restaurant a great place to have good Thai food while having a pleasant conversation.

Looked after in this wonderful Thai restaurant.
YES we have so many Thai restaurants in Australia.
This one is a little Thai princess in every way.
Delicate graceful pretty flavours that are
combined & presented with charm and politeness.
Do yourself a favour visit for a comfortable sit in or takeaway meal treat.
The salt and pepper torfu is beautiful.
I chose a dish from the Chef’s Recommendations menu: ‘Crispy Seafood Curry - a Chuchi Thai curry of delicious seasoning, crispy prawns, calamari, wild ginger, and mixed vegetables ($28.00)’. The curry was absolutely delightful with crunchy but tender calamari and a gorgeous sauce.
Little Thai Princess is a hidden gem in glen iris. If I don't see it on the Zomato, I might pass the restaurant so many times and never noticed it. The service is professional and friendly. Their food is very authentic, we ordered green curry chicken and honey beef. Their snacks were good too.
Portion size extremely generous. Fantastic quality meat. The Massaman curry is fantastic. Have not eaten in but it looks nice when we have collected the takeaway. Very polite and friendly service, and very fast.
Recommend to book! Very busy place with limited seatings.
We had the following:
Tom kha chicken - on the creamy side with no spiciness detected.
Lotus salad - love the lotus mixture
Garlic roti - minimum taste of garlic and sliced to the thicker side
Three colours whole barramundi - exactly as I thought it should be, worth the wait
Service was very attentive as they kept refilling our glasses as we munch through the fried fish and fried lotus.
Too full to have dessert but overall a good experience!
Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Easy to get to but bit limited with the parking on the main rd. Went for an early dinner so didn't matter. Really nice decor and set up. Ordered duck spring rolls and Calamari first. Great spring rolls and tender calamari. Shared Beef Pad Thai and Honey Beef for main. And of course side of roti and peanut sauce... X2. Hadn't eaten honey beef before and it was really nice. Not too sweet and beef cooked well. We used an entertainment book voucher but would go back another time for sure.
Surprisingly good!
Set in a low-key venue, it was a very enjoyable dining experience.
The curry puffs were amazingly delicious - must order. The satay chicken was also great. Beef massaman curry was tasty but the beef may have been on a chewy side.
Lovely ambience and friendly service.
Would return!
Nice and lovely food, we are four people, one of us was 10 min waiting for the main longer than the other three and we are nearly finish with the main, which was not nice. Friendly and good parking spots.
A great local Thai restaurant. You can eat in I actually think it is quite a romantic spot as it is dimly lit with candles, always dark and quiet and inconspicuous against the backdrop of busy Burke road and the ringing of train bells.
You can park at Gardiner train station, about a 3 min walk.
Great for take away too.
The typical take away style Thai food here ie green curries and stir fries is definitely higher quality than most other local Thai restaurants. The Thai green curry is great as is the spicy basil beef stir fry. However there are some other dishes here that are pretty inventive and could easily pass as a dish on Melbourne's best Thai restaurants ie the salt and pepper tofu ,soft shell crab salad and whole fried crispy barramundi.
Parking at Gardiner station is still about a 3min walk which can be annoying in the rain.
Otherwise pretty good and definitely a class above most!
Everything we ordered was delicious!!!! We really enjoyed the food, the place and the good service! It is a place to go back and also to recommend to anyone who loves Thai food!
GOOD: nice and quiet place even though it's on a main road. They served the peanuts on the side and their spoons are shovel-shaped. +0.5 stars for shovel-shaped spoons.
BAD: it's quite expensive... $25-30 for a main is probably the reason why they were so quiet.
TASTY: the soft shell crab salad was delicious.
Superb meal and service. We ordered the Crispy Chicken and Curry Puffs followed by a Three Spice Barramundi, Honey Beef and vegetarian Pad Thai. Everything tastes fresh and better than the average Thai. It is a bit more pricey of course, but worth it.
Came here for a family dinner a few months ago. The restaurant was really dim - not ideal for taking food photos lol! The food was pretty good. The pad thai was one of the best I have tasted. It was lovely and fragrant, had fantastic texture and not overly greasy. The larb salad was refreshing and had a great tang to it, just wished there was more of it. We also had a curry, but it wasn't too memorable. Overall we enjoyed our meal, but it's pricier than other Thai restaurants.
A small and unassuming little restaurant where the setting and staff were great and the food was punchy and flavoursome! All of the dishes looked extremely photogenic and colourful
The place was a little on the expensive side but probably one of the better Thai food experiences that Melbourne has to offer
My personal favourite was the lotus salad~
Food is fresh, punchy and bold flavours like true thai food should be, decor needs a little update and parking is inconvenient if driving. Staff were friendly and attentive.
My partner and I have been a couple of times - and overall, we like Little Thai Princess. They are more pricey then other Thai places though - for example, their entree size Tom Yum soup is delicious however you'll pay what you would for a main size at other places. You get a lot for their crispy chicken entree, and their curries are good.
It's good food and the service is excellent. We ordered pad Thai, soft shell crab with papaya salad, green curry chicken, duck red curry, Asian greens, salt and pepper tofu, Almond Chicken and roti. Roti is standard so nothing special. Pad Thai is nice maybe for some people might be too sweet.
Little thai princess never fails to please. While a bit pricier than the other local Thai's their meals are always sensational. You could be mistaken this place is going to unimpressive given the location once inside the restaurant is nice and cosy and a perfect place for a date night.
Excellent food & service. Absolutely delightful dining experience at this lovely Thai restaurant this past Saturday evening. Without a doubt one of the nicest Thai restaurants we've ever had the pleasure of dining in.
The food was simply amazing, couldn't fault it. We had a selection of entrees and mains and desserts, every dish cooked and presented perfectly.
The service was friendly and professional, the ambience beautiful.
What a great night out had by our group of 4. Every one of us was still raving about our experience the following day. Brilliant. Loved it.
Update to my review posted on 30 Jan 2015. Two weeks after posting the review regarding issues with Delivery Hero and fulfilment of our order by LTP the restaurant manager called me to apologise for the problems and gave us a voucher to dine in. This is excellent follow up, something that's not common these days.
Tonight we finally did dine in. The food is sensational (having previously only had take away which was very good, except for what I now hope was a one off problem as previously noted). Not your usual run of the mill suburban Thai. Lovely, fresh, fragrant, and chilli hot as Thai should be. We had the crispy salt and pepper chicken entrée - very generous serve and excellent flavour and quality, very clean and hot oil for frying. For main we shared the soft shell crab and papaya salad and caramelised pork hock - absolutely delicious, and again generous serves. And the staff are friendly and attentive, great service. The atmosphere is also good.
We acknowledge this is probably a family run business and sometimes things go wrong. LTP a have excelled in their handling of what happened. We highly recommend dining in house if you can. And if you want take away, call and pick up yourself.
Big thank you to Ping and all the staff. We will be back.
-----30 Jan, 2015-----
We used Delivery Hero for this order. We have ordered once before via same method and thought the food was far better than our usual takeaway. So we decided to switch. This time, very disappointed.
7.41pm received email confirmation of order. Online told 60 min delivery.
8.44pm phone call received that cuts off after 4 rings. No message. Call it to find out it's the restaurant. They tell me the chef is very busy and it would be another 15 minutes. Could have called us well before.
9.12pm I call to ask status as we live 6 mins from the place according to google. They tell me food left 10 mins ago.
9.25pm. Food delivered. Note left from restaurant apologising. Gave us free prawn crackers and spring rolls. But didn't deliver one of the entrees we ordered. To top it off, free spring rolls stone cold, entree we did order stone cold, roti stone cold and inedible. Rice was warm as was curry. Weird. Expect half our order sat waiting at the restaurant while the other was cooked.
9.27pm rang the restaurant to complain. They wanted to deliver fresh. Too late. Already 1hr 50 mins since we ordered so asked for a refund. We microwaved food.
9.58pm. Delivery hero guy knocks at our door. Wants cold food returned to give us refund. Seriously? We say we've eaten as we were starving. He wants the food back! After much discussion he calls his boss. We get 50% refund.
In my view this is the fault of both parties. And we are the sucker customer at the end of the transaction.
Pot luck with your order. You decide.
Authentic Thai. Lovely quiet atmosphere and great friendly service. Food is so tasty and truly quality thai food. The Volcano Seafood was delicious and the pad Thai prawns was generous and flavoursome. A few wines by the glass but also byo. This is a lovely little local.
Love the food, especially the Barramundi, green lake chicken, satay chicken, fried rice & Soft shell crab salad. Love the service & efficiency. Have a unforgettable birthday party last night!
This place is amazing!!!! It is the best food in the world. We are vego so it good from that end but our meat eating friends also love it. Service and decor is also great 10/10.
I think I've found the best Thai restaurant in Melbourne. Stand out dish was the Crunchy Seafood Curry. Fantastic service as well.
My favourite Thai restaurant in Melbourne. Service could be better but the food is great.
It was sooooooooo delicious thai food and lovely service . This restaurant is my best thai restaurant in melbourne . I will recommend to my friends .
Delicious meal. I enjoyed an excellent dinner. The service was exemplary and the food was delicious.
Really like it. Amazing Thai food, excellent food, fabulous service. Soft shell crab curry and salad, barramundi is awesome. Best evironment
Awesome food! Fried fish and soft shell crab salad was amazing!!!
Fresh & tasty food, friendly efficient service, lovely ambience!
Great Green Curry. Love my Thai, this place is high on my list. Sampled most items on the menu and satisfied with quality. Green curry is a must. Service was great.
Great little local restaurant. Friendly service. Fresh food and very tasty. Can be very hot Jungle curry is an example. Only order if you really love very hot curry. Princess platter to share for entree is a winner. Pad Thai outstanding.
It's just awesome!!!. I've been here couple of times and I just love it!!
You should try their curry(massaman) and volcano seafood if u r okay with spicy food. In addition they have a quite romantic atmosphere which is perfect for couple I think..and the wait staff was so kind~~I will go often!! definately!
Amazing thai food i can not explain but some are very hot ask staffs what is hot before try it I think this is best of best thai restaurant in Melbourne
Hits and Misses. We live just around the corner from LTP and on some nights, it's a blessing to be able to walk down and have such awesome Thai food. Like other reviewers have said, it is pricier but some of the dishes are worth it!
I would NOT recommend the pad thai (it's too sugary, gross).
We've been to LTP a few times already and we have concluded that their seafood meals are actually the ones that really hit the spot. Their poo pad pong (soft shell crab curry) is amazing, as are their baramundi dishes. Jungle curries are very good also.
My advice for people who are going to visit LTP, try the seafood dishes. They're really something!
Worked out to be an ideal local place to go for a casual night out with friends. Food was terrific and clearly prepared to order and service attentive and friendly.
Loved this local restaurant! The decor is warm, cosy, and elegant, and was a lovely escape from the rain.
I had the Caramelised Pork Hock from the Chef's Recommended section of the menu and I can say I've never had more succulent and flavoursome pork. My partner's Honey Beef Stir Fry had a beautiful sauce that tied the whole meal in together very well.
Service was excellent, and the staff were very attentive.
Very pleased, we'll be back.
We had a great time. We got soft shell crab curry, crispy Barramundi, Thai fried rice and Salt n pepper chicken. The dishes are delicious, lovely service and atmosphere. Would go back again. Highly recommended
LITTLE THAI IS UNFORGETTABLE. Celebrated my Birthday and Surprise engagement Party here! Staffs were so nice and very helpful. Food was the Best and the Ambiance was great. My Friends were able to set up the restaurant with flowers, balloons and candle lights. Thankyou so much Little Thai Princess Family. You made my 28th Birthday truly something to be treasured 🥰
Amazing and tasty good. Great variety of choices, love the pork hock and tom yum!! Would definitely come back
The most amazing Thai food I have ever had. Really friendly service. The seafood pad se ew was phenomenal and super tasty with fresh seafood. Highly recommend.
On our 14th anniversary we enjoyed the absolutely delicious food, intimate atmosphere and friendly staff here at Little Thai Princess! Thank you ❤️
Highly recommended the ginger fish, thai fried rice! Also the Tom Kha soup is *CHEF'S KISS* amazing!! Make sure get yourself a Thai milk tea too!
Wasn’t with high expectations when I walk in as it only rated 4.4. But I think it should rate a bit higher. Staffs were nice, food was delicious, and my child love their kids cutleries.
