Review Sette Bello - Glen Waverley

Senthil Kumar Veluswamy
We were a group of four and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Prices are on the higher side, Portions for the starters are small and so is the mains with exception of the pasta. I had the lamb, which was very soft and flavourful. Service is very good and a decent collection of wine.

- Salt & lemon pepper calamari, fennel, cucumber, iceberg salad, basil aioli $24 - Gnocchi All’Amatriciana’ spicy bacon, fresh tomato, black olives, Pecorino Romano $36 - Pappardelle, prawn & WA scampi, cherry tomato, lobster bisque $42 - Confit Maryland duck, green peas, pancetta, jus $40 - Chargrilled Gippsland 250g eye fillet steak, sautéed spinach, silky mash potato, brandy peppercorn sauce $49 A very disappointing experience at Sette Bello. The waiting time was insanely long. The calamari dish came first, after that we waiting more than half an hour for the next dish. We were sat at a table for two but there were four of us. It could barely fit all our dishes. Food wise, very mediocre. Pappardelle was nice but it had shell in it the steak was burnt and tasted bitter. The mash potato was grainy. Overall, poor service, overpriced and mediocre food quality.

I loved everthing about this place. The food, the drinks, the desserts and to top it all the best customer service. I will be a returning customer for sure !

Hidden away restaurant and the ambience is good as well as service but we found that all 3 mains we ordered were quite salty. I don't know if it's just our taste but was significantly saltier than our usual experience at Italian places.

Had my husband's 70th birthday lunch there and it was lovely, everyone enjoyed and had a good time. Food was beautiful and the service was beyond average. Christie, Claude and one other were awesome, thankyou. A second visit is definitely on the card👍😘

Delicious and very friendly service from this Italian restaurant will be back to try other food. Excellent keep up the good work

We had our Valentine's day dinner here yesterday. Left feeling extremely satisfied and full. Well worth the price for just the food alone. To add, the service was fantastic. Have already recommended to friends and told my partner I'd love to come back again.

Attentive and friendly staff, great atmosphere and lovely food. Will be my regular place from now

There isn’t anything I could fault about this restaurant! From start to finish, everything was beautiful. The service was beyond amazing and the food was delicious. The price for the quality of food was incredible! Will definitely continue returning

Excellent service and great food and a nice atmosphere.

Squid ink pasta!!!! 😍😋😋😋

This is a place I like to come on special occasions. The white tablecloth experience makes is a very civilised place to dine. The waiters are highly professional and the meals are excellent. The prices reflect the quality of this establishment but it’s well worth it.

Such a great place for Italian especially for the suburbs, the seafood pasta here is so delicious and great value for money compared to other High end Italian restaurants . I also love that they do porchetta here, the stuffing is moist and the crackling is to die for !

Our second visit to this fine establishment, which is surprisingly reasonably priced. Previously, our experience was much more attentive and the service: charming. Tonight, the wait time for ordering was prolonged, service was not flawed but bland and there seemed to be a strain in the air, possibly from understaffing. In contrast, the food was delivered timely and beautifully presented, as expected. The roast lamb rump was lovely and tender, and the risotto that it came with was decent, though a little too saucy. This evening's special, mushroom pappardelle, was delicious and abundantly mushroomed. From memory, the regular pappardelle with prawn and lobster meat was also nice, however, slightly lacking in the actual 'meat' section. Interested in returning for another try, perhaps in the far future, as the place emits an air of pretension that regularity may prove unsuitable for humble palates.

The carbonara was a bit too salty. The rest was great.<br/>Service is great and so is their coffee

Interesting location nestled amongst a business park but easily accessible from the main road. Very lovely ambience inside with helpful staff.<br/>After we ordered our meals we were served with a warm roll and olive oil which was a nice starter.<br/>We didn't order any starters - went straight to mains. I ordered the special of the day which was a squid ink pasta with a prawns and seafood sauce. Meal was delicious; the only disappointing thing was the prawns were not premium prawns which you wouldve expected at a restaurant like Settle Bello. Everyone else loved their meals. Was a great night.

Just had dinner here tonight. The pasta on the special list was delicious, so was the kill Patrick's. I recommend you get an item on the daily specials. They were great.

This place will not disappoint. My family and I have been here multiple times now and the food has always been of a high quality. Highly recommend the seafood linguine. It has a generous amount of fresh seafood and a light olive oil and fragrant garlic flavour. The ambience of the restaurant is also quite romantic and gives off a cosy feeling. Would recommend this place!

I always love to come to the place to have a nice dinner. Food is always good and staff a friendly and polite. Definitely coming back. Very nice and clean place.

Very friendly staff and nice ambience in the restaurant. The starters were all very nice, my favourite was the prawn and arancini ball. The pasta was ok, I had the lobster and prawn pasta.<br/>The doughnuts were quite nice and I would also recommend the cocktails

Our waiter for the night (Christian I think his name was) provided amazing customer service. In conjunction with the beautiful food served, this place provided a great setting for a birthday dinner. I had their surf and turf (scotch fillet and prawns) special which was delish, however I had a bite of my friend’s squid ink pasta special which was absolutely to die for. Would come back 100% and would not hesitant to recommend to a friend

Sette bello always provides an amazing meal. You can really tell they use the highest quality of ingredients. A crowd favourite was the Seafood Linguini. I’m looking forward to being back here soon 😁

Been here a few times over the years and have never been disappointed. The service is warm, friendly and welcoming. The food last night was lovely.<br/>

This is by far one of the best Italian in Melbourne. Me and the mrs very rarely go to the same place twice but since discovering this place couple years ago we must’ve eaten there 7 times at least! Seafood pasta never fails to disappoint. Absolutely love it!

Have always driven past sette bello wondering what the restaurant would be like but always seemed to forget that it was there. <br/>Inside was surprisingly refined and intimate dining setting. <br/>Food was pretty good well round with all our pasta dishes demolished. I myself have the paccheri pasta with kind prawns thought the lobster bisque. Was tasty but pasta was aldente which isn’t my preference for this throw of pasta. <br/>Pricing was a little exxy but overall nice evening out in glennie.

What the beautiful place with great service and food. <br/>It’s in between office buildings but once you go inside, you wouldn’t notice that. We were sitting outside table and I felt like I’m in winery or somewhere country side. <br/>All staff were nice and can tell everyone enjoy working there. Especially Peter who served us were outstanding. Looked after us so well and it was our first visit but we felt like we are super special guests at there.<br/>Forgot to take photo but lobster pasta was so good. Pasta and steak cooked perfectly. <br/>Definitely will go back again.

Food was outstanding, shared 5 assagi between 4 people they were amazing and had lobster pasta for mains - wow. Service was fantastic. My new favourite restaurant.
Travel_Food_and_You
Fine dining setting and environment but with a rather affordable price in my opinion. The food is so delicious, I’ve been seeking chance to go back again. The spicy Italian sausage is yummy, firm in texture and that hint of spiciness was just great. Crispy pork was introduced by lovely hostess and it was a bang! Our main was spaghetti but it was finished in no time therefore there was no picture for it. We ended the night with half dozen of oyster and a tiramisu! Will come back again!

Can not fault this place for consistency! Always excellent service and the meals are great one of my favorite places. I think the location is the only reason more people haven't heard of it.

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to get to this local .. it was amazing, it was very busy for a Thursday night, not sure If Xmas season had something to do with with . The waiters apologised for any delays which made it acceptable, but we could see the chaos of how busy they were. But it’s was all worth the wait.. was super delicious and very Italian, which being Italian is difficult to find good authentic Italian food in the burbs.. these guys have it sorted !!

Love this place completely. The service is excellent and the food is insane. The duck is amazing and the seafood risotto is simply delicious. Will definitely come back again :)

I previously reviewed this restaurant in 2015 and was not impressed.   However, we have been encouraged by friends to try again and have been twice recently.   So this review represents the aggregation of those two dining experiences.   1 was lunch and the other was dinner.   We could not fault the friendliness and quality of the service and staff.   They really helped to make our meals an enjoyable experience.    All the dishes were well presented and tasty - seafood, pasta, lamb, duck, rabbit and pork.   The desserts were shockingly tempting and sweet we really appreciated having a coffee to balance the sweetness.   And the wine list provides plenty of excellent choices.  We will certainly be back.

My ravioli were great: tasty, cooked till the right point. My friend’s gnocchi...so so.. starters were good as well, delicious the zucca flower with goat cheese! Interesting desserts, and tasty too. A little bit expensive for what it is.. overall good experience, good service.

Sette Bello has been around for some time now. I've always driven past here on Springvale Road and always saw this place packed and lit up. I always wondered what was inside. It was nice and spectacular inside actually, quite modern and definitely has that Italian vibe to it. I enjoyed coming here with friends overall the service was great and the food was astonishing.

I have to say the staff was very friendly &interesting , the service is also great , and we are allergic with the seafood, so the stuff recommond some rabit, duck, wagyu beef and the others , There were plenty of mouth-watering, delicious food on the table.and The duck is very lip-smacking,👍👍👍🎂🎂🎂💑💏👫

Located main road Glen Waverley with plenty of parking this Italian restaurant is much sought after and therefore suggest a prior booking.<br/><br/>At lunch on weekdays this place was full!! <br/><br/>We were served by a gentleman with strong Italian accent which created an aunthenticity . We did not try any wines but the wine list on offer was impressive. The waiter explained regulars, specials and sides. <br/><br/>Of the table was Ravioli spinach which was most impressive.<br/>Food : 3/5<br/>Ambiance:3/5<br/>Service : 3/5<br/><br/>Revisit : Yes

Went to dinner with some good friends and we were all disappointed. Serving sizes were very small and 2 of our pasta dishes were far from al dente. Given what they charge we don’t think it was value for money. I don’t mind paying for good food and regularly dine at fine restaurants but this place won’t be getting another visit.

I can’t believe that I haven’t reviewed this lovely restaurant after coming here for all kind of food enjoyments over the last 10 years. The food is creative but maintains its authenticity. The staff are super friendly with well knowledge of the dishes and wine recommendations. Great place for a function with plenty of room to showcase the salami & cheese covered table, freshly chucked oyster stand, outdoor paella and grill stations and many more roaming food options. Love it!

Impeccable food and service. We ordered the tempura stuffed zucchini flowers, risotto stuff rabbit and the fillet mignon. The steak had the perfect texture and fell apart in your mouth. The rabbit was rolled skilfully and cooked exquisitely. Our night was highly enjoyable and I had a wonderful birthday dinner.

Visiting Melbourne and taken by out friends to this inner suburban Italian restaurant. It was a delight to see how good it is. Friendly service, attention to detail, good decor. A group of 4 had share plate entrees and fresh pasta and gnocchi were features of the mains.<br/>The food was excellent. Worthy of a bookmark and return visit.

We had booked for a Birthday lunch on 22nd July 2018. Firstly the restaurant has no ramp for disabled<br/>and elderly people. Secondly the place was extremely noisy - people were standing around our table talking - putting their drinks on our table - not a good look. Next the disabled toilet was being used as<br/>a staff closet - a disgrace.  The service was far too long - over and hour before we got our entrees. I had ordered King prawns for an entree - what I got was one king prawn that had been char-grilled with the shell , head and legs left on - and the flesh had been burnt to the shell so that no eatable meat was left.<br/>$9.00 for the shell, head and legs.  Not coming back!

I went here for my Birthday and the food was first class. Great attentive service and fresh ingredients used with every dish. Will definitely come back here again. Best Italian restaurant in Melbourne.
Daniel Vicino
I consistently rate this place the best Italian restaurant in Melbourne. We’ve been a number of times, even as recent as last night and as usual it is quality all the way. The best!!!
OA
Unfortunately won’t be going here again. I don’t mind paying for quality but $44 for a steak that is well done on one end and rare on the other isn’t good enough, especially when we both ordered rare and both came out like this. The bitterness from the charred radicchio was taken so far that it was unpleasant. No balance in this dish. Definitely not kid or baby friendly either. Had to change my baby on a tiny shelf in the restroom hallway. Entree and dessert were nice but not enough to get me to come back. I would give it 2.5 if I could but not a 3.

I found a hair down deep in my pasta. When I showed it to the waiter she was very rude, instead of apologizing she told me that there are only boys in the kitchen with short hair, implying it was my own hair. Maybe she had to open her eyes instead of her mouth seeing there were indeed many waiters around with long hair! I know what my own hair looks like and secondly it was so mixed deep inside the pasta! Never seen such a poor way of dealing with customers! They even didnt bother getting it off the bill!

We arrived for a Sunday lunch for six and I have to admit I was a little surprised with this restaurant. From walking in you could tell there was attention to detail, it was clean and very well maintained and it did look upmarket for a suburban restaurant with lots of glass, green vistas and a spacious feel. The arancini were great. We also had the salt & pepper calamari to share, these were crispy although they could have done with a little more seasoning. My pork cutlet was cooked perfectly. The service was second to none with the right level of attentiveness and friendly banner, very professional. We'll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.
Richard Athanasiadis
The rating is for the food unfortunately the service leaves a lot to be desired..... if you're going to rush people through their meals and their evening, don't offer a second seating.... when I booked I was offered a 6.30pm seating with the understanding that they wanted the table by 8.00pm, or an 8.30pm booking and we could stay as long as we liked.<br/>On arrival we we're shown our seats and had barely sat before we got asked if we wanted any drinks .... ahhh how about you show us a wine list before you ask?<br/>We had our drinks and entrees at the table, and finished within the first 30 minutes. This set the tone for rest of the night... from jamming all the foods on the table at once through to having your plate removed as soon as you have put your last mouthful into your mouth........ I could continue but you get the idea....... unfortunately the evening left a very sour note
Dave
The food was delicious!! Fresh seafood and everything really well presented. To top it off the service was consistently fantastic across all staff! They went the extra mile to make the dining experience special. A real gem!!
Elissa Raines
Delicious, authentic Italian food packed with flavour. Reasonably pricey but what you would expect for such an upmarket restaurant. I came for lunch and the service was exceptional with out food coming out quickly.

The food was ok. I could tell the pasta were home-made, however my seafood pasta was really sandy. I appreciated them taking it off the bill, however, didnt understand why the waiter had to tell me first that it was exactly the way it was supposed to be.<br/><br/>Some of my friends thought their pastas were too salty, but I quite enjoyed the gnocchi, despite the weird green color the broccoli gave it, I thought the texture was delicious. Not sure what the rest of the table thought of their food, noone was raving, but neither were there more complaints.<br/><br/>Service was quite good. Our waiter was very friendly and chatty, but not overly so, and I got an extra little dessert to celebrate my birthday, which turned out to be better than the one we ordered.

We had a work lunch booked in for a large group of us and from the moment we arrived we were treated so well. Having such attentive and friendly waiters makes such a big difference to your meal! And that's before we even had the delicious food. We had the 2 course set menu which we couldn't have picked fault with. The appetisers were all delicious and served fresh and still hot. My main was swordfish and it was incredible. Cooked perfectly and the pomegranite and sweet potato really complimented it all. The only slight downside was that we didn't get all of our appetisers but we were so full that it actually didn't matter because we wouldn't have eaten them. I can imagine this was just a mistake and would have been rectified had I said anything.

"Where would you like to go for Valentine's day?", WL asked out of the blue. I starred at him in utter disbelief, allowing myself a few minutes to gather my thoughts. I responded with a casual burger outlet that we frequented last year but after giving a bit more thought into it, I suggested Sette Bello, a restaurant that is close enough for the both of us and a place where we could unwind.
Steve Levon
So whilst I haven't got any photos to show you your just gonna have to take my word for it that this place is worth at least 4 stars for it's food. What brings it up to 5 stars is the simple fact that the service is second to none. The service in the place is what you would hope for in any fine dining restaurant. Nothing was too difficult and the drinks were literally made to order. I absolutely loved this place and will definitely be back!

Flawless, simply flawless. From the moment we walked in we were treated like celebrities...My wish was their command! <br/><br/>Nothing was too much effort and the food was sublime. There's a reason we've been coming here for 10 years! Thank you Frank, Peter & co!!

Got a table at very short notice as they accommodated is despite being full! Great ambiance. Great food! Excellent service especially by John! Would definitely come back as they made a great night more special!

Ok I'm going to let you know straight away that I am very biased with this review and for good reason. I have only been here once a year for the last 3-4 years with my partner to celebrate our anniversary and to date, it has never let us down and has always been exceptional making the evening even more enjoyable for both of us. Right from the get go you are made to feel like a member of the family. Peter who we have mainly dealt with never forgets your name and if it is your first time going here he will remember it for the rest of the evening. Being seated at your table in itself makes you feel like you are eating somewhere special. The waiter/waitresses are dressed how you would expect for a beautiful night out and know the menu extremely well and it is a joy hearing them recite the specials to you with great detail. This year I had the oysters natural as one of the specials and they were a delight, followed up by the Tuna Carpaccio which was melt in the mouth. Main was the Herb and Panko crumbed baby veal and to finish I chose the Affogato because I have a soft spot for coffee and ice cream. And as always, all of the dishes were faultless.  My partner went for 3 courses starting with the Hervey Bay Scallops for entrée, main was the fish of the day which was a beautiful fillet of barramundi cooked to perfection and served with a fennel salad and for dessert she had the 'Tartufo sette bello' Hazelnut parfait, amarena cherry centre, dark chocolate ganache, praline topped with Persian fairy floss which was thoroughly enjoyed. It looked very pleasing so much so that I had to try some and it was everything I was expecting it to be. Loved the choice of bowl that it was served in too as it set the dish right off. The wine list has some excellent choices to suit most budgets and we both had a glass of the Bellussi Prosecco to start the evening off and I also had to try one of the cocktails because I love chilli so my eye immediately caught the Chilli and Lime Margarita on the drinks menu.....Yum! Atmosphere is always great. Noise levels can start to get a bit louder as the evening goes on but I truly believe this is a sign that everyone is enjoying themselves and once you have dined here you will understand why it is definitely worth going back time after time. I would highly recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance, I always book 1 month in advance, as to not be disappointed on missing out for a dinner or celebration evening that is sure to leave you telling your friends to go give it a go.

This is one of the best places to eat in the south east suburbs. The service is always above and beyond and the food is consistently unbeatable. Could not recommend it high enough

Oh my! Food quality has dropped significantly!  <br/>We have been customers here for years, always come here every a few months. This time was a real shock.<br/><br/>- Meat was dry, not enough sauce. Char grilled chicory was burnt, so it's bitter+burnt, and there is absolutely no elements in the dish is bitter counteracting.<br/>- Fish was bland, it comes with a separate bowl of fries which was fried in really old fatty oil. Worse than pub food!<br/>- The main dishes used to always come with Beautifully cooked and plated veg, sauce or puree... Now, you might have to order veg separately.<br/>- Most dessert are some form of ice cream+fried dough or bread.<br/><br/>This restaurant used to have awesome food that makes you finish every little drop on the plate with your eyes closed. <br/>Now it all seemed like the cooks have no idea of art of cooking. Pub food trying too hard.<br/><br/>Very disappointing...<br/>.<br/>.
Pineapple San
Lucky for us we made a booking a couple of weeks in advance. The place fills up quickly especially on the weekends! Although the restaurant isn't very big, it is quite comfortable, lively and up class. <br/>The food menu, although quite limited, is done well. The alcohol list however, is truly extensive! <br/>Service was great too, the wait staff were really friendly and attentive.<br/>I tried one of the fish specials. The fish was cooked perfectly and went well with the potato and vegetables that came with it. The seafood spaghettini (also a special) was amazing in terms of flavour and presentation. Our dessert (croissant pudding) was nothing short of goodness. The custard was really impressive. <br/>I'll come back again for the amazing food and time! Thank you!
Split The Bill
What a fabulous place to have dinner in Glen Waverley. We came here on a cold Wednesday night, it is so popular with locals so lucky we booked 3 weeks in advance. Our table of 6 ordered entrees to share the highlight was the salt and pepper calamari which were very tender and served on green salad. I had the crispy skin pork belly server with corn salsa and pea puree. Boy was that pork skin crispy. This is a must visit when on that side of town.

Just revisit with my wife, were regular here, but sadly no more, this place is a sad pitiful shadow of its former self. all the good staff are gone all the amazing food people and atmosphere is all gone. All in a span of 2 months. They even have the audacity to hire someone who looked like the head waiter. But no fooling us sorry. Peter, where are you!? We will come to your new place!
Jermayne Williams
Very disappointing to see the same menu dished out over summer and winter. 90% of the desserts had some form of ice cream / gelato. It's blooming 6 degrees outside.😜<br/><br/>Once is good but not worth a repeat .

Probably as fancy as they come for the area. Great Italian restaurant in a pretty random location, sitting within Brandon Park business park. I've been here numerous occasions ranging from business lunch to anniversary dinner, so had the whole spectrum. Food is well done and coffee is great. Interior is fancy and looks nice, with the service matching. Can pass as a 5 star restaurant but everything considered I didn't feel it was anything too special. If it was in a different location it wouldn't be that impressive, but considering it's the fanciest restaurant within a few suburbs it gets a good nod.
Kimmy
I had the squid ink pasta and based on that dish i would have given this place a 5 because it was soooo delicious and a generous serving. Unfortunately the wait was about 40 minutes! The decor and ambience is nice here so that's a plus too.
Helen
Booked for 6pm Saturday night & the restaurant was full but service prompt & efficient. Entrees included oysters Kirkpatrick which were great, carpaccio which came with onions, balsamic, capers, shaved Parmesan & rocket. Soft shell crab quite nice too. Mains included lamb rump which was a bit chewy but the sauce was divine. The veal parmigiana was good but apparently mine is better! The 4 cheese gnocchi was lovely but a bit of a basic type of meal then the fish of the day which was well done. The sorbet dessert included lemon, mango, raspberry & blood orange with Persian fairy floss on top which looked like our cats fluff but tasted better! I had the panna cotta with plums soaked in wine which was light & yummy. The coffee here is very good quality. Quite expensive overall but enjoyable.

LIT: great customer service upon arrival- gesturing you to your table and checking up on your experience. Yes and all the food we ordered was lit. 2nd time here and we will be back! <br/><br/>NOT SO LIT: n/a <br/><br/>Thanks for another delectable meal x<br/>

After a long time a great Italian experience. Formal setting, informal friendly server. I had rabbit which was amazing. We ate a lot.<br/>Only problem is when we ordered zucchini flowers from your menu, we WEREN'T TOLD it's not available and they put zucchini fritters on our plates.. we didn't mind too much as they were delicious but wish we were told about this. Also, the special of the day (seafood gnocchetti with lobster bisque) was not very 'special' in taste, compared to the other dishes our big group had and was too salty. But we will definitely go here again and recommend this place. Good location also.

Sette Bello is a perfect piece of proof that first class dining doesn't only exist the city. With the menu always ready to please and a range of specials ranging from your traditional meat and poultry to superb seafood I have yet to select a displeasing dish. My only disappointment was that the last time I visited they had run out of freshly squeezed orange juice... might sound ridiculous but this juice is seriously good!! Even my wine drinking friends order it!!! Love this place
Lara Murdoch
Sette Bello is absolutely fantastic. Price is not an issue for me if the service you receive and the quality & taste of your food is amazing. We had an entree, mains, dessert and drinks. Wait staff we super friendly and called us by our names. Ambience is comfortable & classy. I ordered gnocchi which were like pillows of light fluffy goodness in my mouth - one of the best I've had! My partner ordered a steak, and his mashed potato was silky smooth. Will definitely be coming back here on a special occasion!

Went here for a romantic friday night dinner with my wife. The atmosphere and service was top notch, was greeted and seated fast. The selection of food and specials were great, not overloaded or under. The food was great, the flavour and aesthetic of the dishes were fantastic. My wife also enjoyed her time at Settes' as its her first time going to an italian restaurant and a 'fine dining' type as well. She was really happy and gave a great 9/10 and shes pretty picky with her food!<br/><br/>Try the chips there, even tho its not fine dining food, the chips were the best ive ever had! Along with the fillet steak and seafood pasta

After reading all the fantastic reviews about Sette Bello I couldn't wait to celebrate a friend's birthday there.  When we entered it looked lovely... nice white linen and classy looking waitstaff.  We were glad we had dressed for the occasion.   But that is where it ended!!!  <br/>They were busy and we were ignored while they set up new tables around us... tables and chairs moving over our heads.  A menu was duly offered but it took ages for them to take our order and when we just ordered the main the waiter tried to talk us into an appetiser or else we would have to wait 30 minutes for our main.  We said we are not big eaters and will bide our time with a bread roll.   <br/>NO rolls came so after another 20 minutes we asked for a roll.  The waiter literally threw the roll on our plates and luckily they didn't land on our heads as they would have killed us they were so hard.   <br/>The mains came and the pasta looked very nice although it looked like an entree sized portion.  My friend said it was very tasty.  <br/>Two of us ordered the ‘Cotoletta’ Herb and panko crumbed baby veal.  I was amazed when it came as it was just a veal schnitzel with some raw cut up tomatoes and  rocket leaves with shaved parmesan on top and a slice if lemon.   If you had added the chips and vegs, which we had to purchase seperately, it would have been a good pub meal... at at about 1/4 of the price.  I will say the veal was tender but no better than what I cook at home.  <br/>The fourth person had the lamb rump and it looked overcooked with something on the side that even she could not determine what it was but she thought it was potato and eggplant frittata.  No comment was made on the quality but she said she was disappointed as the first time she came the food was delicious.   <br/>She went up and complained to the manager who promptly came and apologised profusely to us for the problems we had and said they had been very busy tonight, ( but it hadn't stopped him or other waitstaff from welcoming people who obviously were regular customers, and serving them ) He asked who was the waiter that served the bread.  Next that waiter came up and apologised as well, but it was too late and the evening was spoiled.<br/>I was not going to even give it a 1 score as I thought it was a waste of a good night, but I thought if it was My Kitchen Rules score a 1 would be appropriate!

Best restaurant in the area- staff are fantastic, food is sensational. <br/>It's a nice restaurant without feeling stuffy and great for all occasions.

We were looking for a special place to celebrate a very special birthday, I researched to find a place that had great reviews. Sette Bello have good reviews. I was left feeling the hole the bill of $185 made. Instead of leaving feeling that it was worth it, all I could think of was what else we could have done with that money. From the moment we arrived the pressure was on to order eat and get out. The waiter didn’t seem to really listen or make us feel like we stepped into the warmth you expect from an all Italian restaurant. The waiter who thought making chauvinist jokes was actually funny served my husband who is a very strict vegetarian meat in his risotto. Yes it is a human mistake to make but no apology or hey here is a glass of wine, so sorry. No here’s the bill pay, but please hurry. I asked if they could do a small serving for my 7 year old. Yes I’ll make it a small portion from the waiter, and yes it was small, a single piece of fish on a bare plate with a side of fries ended up being the most expensive item on our bill. I questioned if my dish would have a creamy white sauce, yes yes of course. There was no cream in sight. We ordered wine that we had to chase, a coffee that never arrived. What this restaurant doesn’t realise is that although they might always be fully booked and that this one little disgruntled review will make no difference to them. There are people that save up a weeks’ worth of shopping money so that they can treat their daughter on her special birthday. I would have loved to say something when we left but why make a scene a spoil her night. Now I lie awake at 4am feeling so let down, regretting the money we wasted. Was the food worth it? Not really. Wish we went to Straits Kitchen in Pinewood, their food is amazing and the service fantastic.

It feels amazing knowing that i have been with Kim from 2004 and since then we have achieved a lot of great things together and explored so many parts of the world. I cant believe that we have been married for 4 years already. I tried finding wedding pics but i don't them on my computer but that will be for another time. Kim and i are terrible at celebrating our anniversary. We completely forgot last year so this year i decided to organise a romantic date.  I organised the In-laws to babysit for a few hours (which they are all happy to do). We went to a local restaurant called Sette Bello, which as you have probably guessed it an Italian place. Its a small cafe during the day as it is situated in a industrial park and at night it turns into a magical restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic <br/>From the moment we walked in we were treated like old friends the owner and staff are absolutely lovely.<br/>The food is incredible and we had some amazing Prosecco and red wine which Elvis the owner recommended. <br/>Totally recommend you try it but book as very busy.

I walked away from here trying to think of something that I could fault...and I couldn't think of anything. All of the food was amazing quality (we had arancini, pasta of the day, gnocchi ragu, tiramisu and doughnuts). The service was very warm, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was enjoyable. Even the drinks menu was very good (give the Mr Pickwick's Port a try, it was delicious). You would be crazy to not give this place a go.

We ordered antipasti first. The notably few slices of meat were about the quality of what you'd find at Coles. However the mains were much better. Ambience and service were great too. Worth a visit.

Pretty good restaurant. Nice decoration, friendly stuff. I liked the spaghetti there. will come again if I have a girlfriend. Which might be a worry.

Was not expecting to come back with amazing reviews of this place but it was sooooo tasty!!!!! Came for a friend's birthday and they made the cheap safeway cake we brought look amazing 🙈 the waiters were all so cute, and honestly being inside you forget you're so close to home and feel like you are at crown casino because of its beautiful interior! The seafood marinara was delicious!!

I always come here with my family and we are always treated like royalty. The staff are very professional and the owners very friendly and appreciative. Highly reccommend

I've been here a dozen times for breakfast, lunch but best of all, dinner! Regardless of the time of the day, the service is always on point from booking all the way through until you leave. This family-run establishment has fast become an icon in the area with the quality of food to match it's trendy counterparts in the city.<br/>I have realised that in all the times I have been here, I have only taken 1 foodie photo which is very unusual. I put it down to the fact that the food comes out THAT GOOD that you just can't help but dig in straight away. I've tried more than half the menu here and cannot fault any of them. I often reach for salt at many places, but here I have never needed to - flavours are beautifully balanced.<br/>The standouts are the duck and the gnocchi (I prefer the quattro formaggio version). Also love the arancini for starters.<br/>Last time I was there I had one of the lamb specials which had a pistachio crumb if I remembered incorrectly. I opted for a mushroom sauce instead of the wine jus. The only photo I've taken here!<br/>It's time to book again soon I think...<br/><br/>Overall 4.5/5 rating given the fact that this restaurant is in the burbs and nowhere else compares in the area.<br/><br/>SERVICE: 4/5<br/><br/>FOOD: 4.5/5<br/><br/>DECOR & AMBIENCE: 4/5<br/><br/>KID FRIENDLY: No, IMO it can get crowded and loud quickly.

Have been here a few times, just recently for Mother's day. The food was fantastic with excellent friendly service. The set menu we had to choose from was great, more on there than I thought we would get. <br/>The oysters that I had for my entrée were amazing!

Eight of us were here tonight. First time for me. I ordered my favourite Western dish: beef eye fillet steak. First time I had it accompanied by bone marrow. Yummylitious to say the least. Deserts were outstanding too. Service was impeccable.

Went here as we had a voucher to use. Not cheap but it's reasonable quality. Oysters were delicious, pork belly not so much. Perfectly cooked eye fillet. Great looking venue, great service. Probably won't return as better food is had elsewhere for that sort of money.

Excellent - don't often give credit when credit is due because diners should always expect excellence, but this place was deserved of accolades. Service was great and the food presentation and menu for all guests at the table was terrific. Great job and well done.

This restaurant is simply amazing, having been again last night can you name another suburban restaurant that would be booked for over 100 covers and fully booked on a Monday night? I had the crumbed veal with chips and salad, the most tender veal I have ever consumed. You look at all the other plates going to different tables and they are incredibly consistent and appealing to the eye, everyone there are just digging in and enjoying the amazing food. This is an Italian restaurant that does amazing pasta and risotto's as my wife had the gnocchi fromaggi. The clinchers is the most personalized but non intrusive service, sensational on every level from Elvis, Frank and Staff, thanks again for the wonderful meal, Bon voyage and I'll see you when we get back!!

Very nice restaurant and friendly attentitive staff.<br/><br/>We visited here for a my Sister in law's b'day and found the food to be very well prepared and flavoursome.<br/><br/>For entree I had the lobster & crab roll that tasted amazing!! Especially the mayo...<br/><br/>One of our party also had the lamb cutlets and they were fantastic. The zuchini flowers another person at our table had and rated them.<br/><br/>For main I had the eye fillet which was perfectly cooked and asparagus, mash potato and sauce were all brilliantly done.<br/><br/>Another person at our table had the pistachio crusted lamb rack which was cooked beautifully.<br/><br/>The service was great, wine list good and it was hard to fault.<br/><br/>The Atmosphere was warm and welcoming and we will be back.<br/><br/>A great night and comfortable experience.

I have visited this restaurant on 2 occasions and the meal both times has been excellent. The first time I tried a risotto and the second time their cheesy gnocchi. Both dishes were delicious. Service is excellent. They must have picked up that I was there on a first date on one visit and they gave us a Frangelico on the rocks for free which I thought was a lovely gesture. Definitely one of the best restaurants in this part of Melbourne.

Cassidy – Sette Bello is popular because it’s a high class venue for the area it’s located in. It’s suitable for corporate people to take clients to for a lunch and somewhere fancy for locals to go to dinner. Having worked within the business park, I’ve had quite a few breakfasts, lunches, coffees and takeaways from there. I feel like this will be an unpopular opinion but….it’s just not for me. Everything is just overly fancy and expensive. The takeaway lunch items are convenient but were not appealing to me, I’d prefer to walk a bit further to the nearby Subway or across the road to the shopping centre food court. The only thing I did really like was their lemon slice, but I’m pretty confident the order them in as the same one is served at another café I work near now. Service is generally quite good in there, I will give them that.<br/><br/>Cleanliness of the restaurant - 9/10<br/><br/>Cleanliness of plates/cutlery/glasses - 9/10<br/><br/>Cleanliness of the menus - 9/10<br/><br/>Service - 9/10<br/><br/>Wait time for food – varies, average <br/><br/>Food overall – 6.5/10<br/><br/>Ambience - 8/10<br/><br/>Value for money - 6/10

When you go to a restaurant that is on the expensive side, you expect nothing short of perfection with both the food and service. Sette Bello lives up to that expectation 100%! The food was absolutely amazing - every mouthful was a delight! The minute we walked in, the staff members were so friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We came here for an anniversary and trust me when I say, we will definitely be coming back for more special moments!

This place seems to get quite busy for dinner on weekends so reservations are recommended. We came in for an early dinner so didn't have a problem getting a table. Nice decor inside, and service is very good. My partner had the seafood spaghettini which was very good. I had the seafood risotto... Also pretty good however the rice seemed a tad undercooked, I still enjoyed it though - great flavours. We shared some antipasto which was also yum. Wouldn't mind coming back to try something else on their menu.

I didn't know this place existed until a friend told me. I have since been numerous times from brunch with a friend, lunch with the family and a date with the fella. Staff made us feel welcomed, food was tasty and filling. Always had a good experience when coming here. Would recommend for any occasion anyone

Service is rude, unfriendly and inconsiderate, very cold and corporate, the food sits there most of the week and isn't fresh. There's much nicer friendlier cafes over at Brandon Park.

Phenomenal suburban restaurant tucked away in an Industrial car park. Professional service, sophisticated interior and elegant menu. We ordered the warm olives and the spicy pork and fennel sausages with peperonata to share as appetizers. The olives were enormous and not too salty and the sausages were juicy and non greasy. For main I ordered the fish of the day which was snapper fillet with carrot puree, broccolini and a summer salad. The dish was fresh and tasty and beautifully presented. Overall I really enjoyed my experience at Sette Bello and will definitely be back.
Obsessedwithgoodfood
I had heard good things about this restaurant and was so keen to go I kept hassling my partner to go eventually we went and all it did was disappoint one course after another and the wait staff did absolutely nothing to back it up. The food was absolute crap the quail was dry and lacked flavour, we got oysters that tasted old and to finish it off I've never had a worse marinara. I literally spat out the scallop because it wasn't even cooked properly and we weren't even food checked what a joke. Me and my partner couldn't of left with a worse taste in our mouth- we are a younger couple and here we definitely felt it the manager only went to older tables as he felt they deserved his personal service because they would spend more money we got nothing from any wait staff we had to continuously ask for service even though we drank through a fair amount of rounds. Only when we were leaving did the manager realise that we had spent 270 dollars that he took the time to shake our hands! What a disgrace. <br/>

The service at Sette Bello is absolutely impeccable. We cannot fault them, they are incredibly attentive without being overbearing and make you feel like nothing is too much trouble. Even if the food was average - which it is not - we would likely be back time and time again just for the service. The food is beautiful, fresh, creative and well prepared.

Hospitality is priority #1. Setto Bello staff know how to make you feel like a guest, not a customer. <br/><br/>Big Christmas groups and business lunches surrounded us, but not a thing went amiss. Our orders were delivered efficiently. Meals cooked perfectly. The food here is always good but its the staff that make Setto Bello great.
Steph
Came here for the set menu for Christmas, the food was absolutely amazing. I got the pork belly and the meal was perfect size flavourings and proportions. The staff are great really friendly and always asking if there was anything we needed. Food came out pretty fast considering we had a large table and the restaurant was busy. Desert we had the one with fairy floss on the top, very cool and very delicious

Very satisfied with the food provided. Great environment and big place. One downside is the waiter hardly speak English, which made me hard to understand what he is talking.
Ally Mudford
Staff here are very attentive and the service is fantastic. Great wine list, and the staff are great at helping you pick something different; in our case it was a lovely Italian red. <br/><br/>The pork belly I had was not great, a bit dry. The zucchini flowers and arancini are delicious as are the desserts, although these and everything else are a bit on the heavy side, so you need a big appetite to get 3 courses in! Would definitely go again but would pick a different main next time <br/>

Great place for a birthday dinner. nice foods and great service from the staffs. <br/>we had an amazing time here as the vibe of the restaurant was really good. <br/>the foods worth the price.

In the same league as Shanika's. Great Italian. Frank is a great waiter and owner. They continuously modernise the menu and continually deliver high quality food. Nothing to falter.

Well presented restaurant with a creative touch to the menu; focus is on seafood no doubt... I like the service, other restaurant owners who read this should take note & experience for themselves. My only recommendation is a better phone, maybe with noise cancelling technology & maybe reconsider your prices just a "little".
