Review Mocha Jo's - Glen Waverley

Came in to celebrate a work birthday lunch. Online booking system was very easy to use and table was ready when we arrived. Very fun and friendly service from all wait staff. Only reason they loose one star is we ordered desserts and the poor girl had to keep coming back to tell us that the cakes we ordered had sold out, so we changed the order three times before we could get dessert. It would have been better if the staff knew the quantity of the cakes before letting us order, and seeing as they where in a glass cabinet that shouldn’t be too hard. Food well priced, possibly more towards too pricey for basic burgers, but it was all lovely and well cooked.

Received fantastic customer service here. I planned a brunch with 7 colleagues and it went beautifully. Thomas was very attentive, approachable, and pleasant to talk to. He even informed us of the discounts available and we ended up saving some money too. Food was delicious and the hot beverages were of excellent quality. Will definitely be going back and recommending this place to others Thank you to Thomas and all the waiters and waitresses who served us today. You are all very incredible and we appreciated your hard work.

Tasty food and great service. Very accommodating at the last minute for Mothers Day. The gift of a coffee on the day was a beautiful touch. Will continue to go back. Thank you!

Excellent place to meet up and to have breakfast or lunch with friends or colleagues. The food are delicious and well presented. Their coffee are also great.

Friendly staff and service, excellent food (beef burger/mix berry cheesecake), exceptional coffee (decaf mocha). But it was most certainly at a price. I'd estimate every item was at least 20% more expensive than a regular cafe. Some things even more. With that said they were generous proportions and high quality ingredients. So if you can afford it, its a great place to go. Potential downsides: * the outdoor music was a little loud, this caused people to talk louder and made it difficult to hold a conversation. I'd imagine it would be much worse during peak hours (we went at 2:30). * Limited up front parking. Only 3 spaces are available up front and the slight slope to the 2hr parking behind may make it difficult for disabled customers to get there. It's not far but as someone who can't walk inclines for too long, it's a consideration. Overall, it was a good experience and would go again if in the area. Thanks to the staff for being so nice and attentive and kudos to the Chef!

Mayne, I reviewed this place a few weeks ago but I am back to update it. The sticky date pudding here is a 10/10. I literally had it on Friday then came back the next day and had it AGAIN. Gahd dayum, words cannot describe how good this sticky date pudding is.

Went to get some BBQ. Gotta give them credit for pivoting during lockdown. When I went there weren’t many people waiting. The cafe was highly ventilated and people were waiting outside for their food. Food itself was alright. Nothing amazing but nice to get out on a sunny day.

Great coffee and breakfast. Friendly staff with good service too

The price is gone up during the COVID period however the service made me a bit disappointed as need to wait more than 5mins for a coffee...which is not a great experience

😱Lizzie’s first impression: on the corner of kings way, this place is super popular and has been over the years. <br/><br/>🍩Lizzie enjoyed: they do really good pastas here which I love and a good risotto too. I’ve tried the sticky date pudding back a while ago and it’s delicious. <br/><br/>🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: ordered their passionfruit mojito and it tasted nothing like one - I couldn’t taste the passionfruit and it literally tasted like tonic water with a hint of mint. Very disappointing. <br/><br/>🥇Lizzie rates overall: a great place in summer especially if you sit outside.

Went here for a quick breakfast, but ended up staying longer as I was just cherishing every bit of goodness of the scrambled egg! It's one of my favourite egg combos for a long time! This place can get quite busy, so come early to get your seats!

Carbonara was not your typical creamy, heavy type served but the more traditional version and was thoroughly enjoyable. Had lots of bacon (which in comparison to other restaurants who serve this style of carbonara use bacon very sparingly) and the sauce itself nice and light...how a carbonara should be. The salt and pepper calamari with steak chips and salad also another highlight. I don’t usually like thick cut chips but the ones served here I would have an exception for. Really crispy and moist; not too dry. Would highly recommend both dishes!!!<br/>Serve was also really friendly and prompt.

For brunch we ordered the Louisiana waffles served with maple espresso bacon and fried chicken, and the Haloumi brekkie. Both were delicious though the maple bacon was chewy and the portions were on the small side. Coffee was great, service was relatively good given how busy they were. Outside seating was better - it was much cosier and quieter.

Ordered the avocado toast with hash browns and mushrooms and a cold drip on the side. It would be better if the avocado was seasoned but overall everything was delicious. Friendly service and nice atmosphere.

Ordered the chilli cheese scramble and superfood brekky.<br/><br/>Great fast coffee service and the chilli cheese scramble was fluffy and there was a good number of cherry tomatoes that added a layer above the cheesiness. Not sure if it shows in the photo, but there is a generous amount of egg! The sourdough bread was crisp, but hard to cut through but that’s to be expected with many brunch dishes. Bacon underneath did not overpower with saltiness, however it was still present - not very crisp, but that’s what you expect with middle bacon. <br/><br/>I didn’t personally have the other dish, but apparently it was filling, egg was poached nicely and the crisp kale around the dish was important for a crisp.

Used to visit Mocha Jo's for just for their sticky date pudding years ago. Decided to head back just for this and it was a disappointment. The dessert did not taste as good anymore as the sauce has lost its buttery fragrance. <br/><br/>I am giving it a 3-star because of the dessert, not the food. Please visit Mocha Jo's yourself to have your own verdict of the food served there as their business is indeed good!

Great restaurant and coffee however the customer service we received today was appalling. Waitress who took our order was extremely rude and ill-mannered, quite a shock.

We had a great experience at Mocha Jo's. We were struggling to choose where to have brunch but I'm glad we chose this place. The food was delicious and came out very quickly which was just what we needed. <br/><br/>I ordered the Chilli Cheese Scramble and it was one of the best I've had. Just the right amount of chilli and cheese. My partner ordered the Louisiana Waffles which were delicious too, couldn't get enough of that fried chicken and it was the perfect balance of savoury and sweet. <br/><br/>Good work team!

Wonderful staff and great service !

The “happy little avo” dish was a joke. It was tasty but had about a half a tablespoon of avocado smeared on the toast. For an avocado brunch dish, you’d expect a little more on the plate, especially for $18.

Bunch of our friends were looking to have brunch last minute and we decided to go Mocha Jo’s. <br/><br/>Ambience - Place has lots of seating both indoor and outdoor so if you have a pet and the weather is good outside , we’d recommend sitting outside. Ambience inside was quite nice too. <br/><br/>Service - they were nice enough to accomodate us (6 people) last minute and the person taking our order was really nice. <br/><br/>Pricing: pricing seems within range compared to other brunch locations. <br/><br/>Food - I ordered Eggs Begs and it was quite nice, well cooked and surprisingly it was quite filling<br/><br/>Overall - we enjoyed our experience and will come back in future.

Really popular place in that area. I been cross so many times but didn’t go once. Got dinner with friend and good pasta and coffee served. Nice and friendly staffs.

Originally wanted to use my Mochas Jo’s BurgerBar voucher from the entertainment book - we turned up and got told it had been closed down. The lovely man at Mocha Jos confirmed with his manager that they could accept my voucher this time round on burgers. We had a delicious dinner with great burgers and a side of scrumptious chips.<br/>Until we went inside to pay - the man taking my money was not listening to me at all when I wanted to explain to him that we had been told that we could use the voucher.<br/>Claimed he WAS the manager of the burger bar and it’s no longer so that was that. He would not even give me the chance until a few minutes later then reconfirmed himself with the manager, again!<br/>His attitude just ruined the whole experience..

Very poor customer service skills , just like somewhere else ( T . L . P ) . I wouldn't recommend either of these places to anyone 😡 only because of the way they treat there customers ( RATHER POORLY )

Mocha Jo's a staple of the foodie community in Glen Waverley. An institution that has stood the test of time and why is that because it a place for friends, families, couples and just a simple coffee.<br/><br/>Because what they do they do well, they are continually improving their food and always wanting to do better. <br/><br/>On a recent visit, stopping in for breakfast we tried the waffles with caramelised banana and bacon and it was a treat. <br/><br/>There is a reason people come back to Mocha's and we think it has something to do with the food.

Came here on a Wednesday afternoon for early dinner. I had the calamari and my partner had the lamb. Really decent food, portions on the smaller side for the prices. Exceptional service - really friendly staff. I also got the peach ice tea and really loved it! Will be back when I’m in Glenny.

A intimate and excellent experience at Mochas Jo's.<br/><br/>The menu provides a great deal of variety so it is easy to please everyone when coming along as a group. The food was excellent with some delicious sides such as the mac and cheese 😍.
EatsOfMelbourneAus
A great place for a catch up coffee with friends ❤️ Also, it’s great to accompany your coffee with one of their desserts listed 💕 With a vibrant atmosphere, Mocha Jo’s should be a place of choice when catching up in Glen Waverley
Melanie (ForeverBrunching)
Lovely dessert at Mocha Joes!<br/><br/>The space was very dimly lit and intimate. It was quite simple but worked nicely.<br/><br/>My friends and I ordered two sticky date puddings to share and they were delicious and decadent! The servings were very generous in size too. The whole dish was very, very sweet. The pudding itself had a good texture, and was quite moist. The butterscotch sauce on top was very sweet and added a lot of the richness to the dish. The ice-cream gave a bit of relief from the sweetness.<br/><br/>The staff were nice and friendly.

chilli garlic prawns was too oily, the other two dishes were good <br/>Always many people <br/>Need to wait patiently to be fed <br/>I was really hungry;)<br/>Overall not bad <br/>It has daily specials which is a great idea

Nice place, relaxing and great vibe but the quality is very up and down. sometimes good sometimes not very. service is friendly. Not hurry to come back.

Good place for a lunch or cake and coffee catchup place. Staff are friendly and attentive and the menu is constantly updated which provides for variety.

I have been dining at Mocha Jo’s for many years. I think they may have changed hands a couple of times over the years. I have had some good and some not so good experiences with the food. I had a steak and a bowl of pasta which I really enjoyed but there was one time where I had a pokebowl which was not so enjoyable. All in all a nice place with a cool vibe to have a meal and some drinks with friends - the staff are always welcoming and friendly too.

A nice cafe on the busy strip of Kingsway in Glen Waverley. The service is quick and the gnocchi I had was light and fluffy and tasted delicious. The balsamic vinegar and broccoli complimented the fluffy pasta well. They were also very accommodating to my friend’s dietary needs but will admit that their menu is a bit pricey.
Lina's Music House
This is my go to coffee catch up place with friends who live in the area.<br/><br/>It's open all day till late which is great for people who work erratic hours and need a cafe that is open after 3pm.<br/><br/>I get quite hungry while sipping on coffee and tea, so I'm glad there are many food options here and not just finger food snacks.<br/><br/>There is plenty of parking behind Mocha Jo's. Great location, friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

This is a fairlynew fit out but the ambience leaves a little to be desired. service is just bit slow, I had the smashed avo breakfast which was very tasty though not very big. The coffee here is very good, but both coffee and food can take a little while.

Super friendly staff and delicious food. It had been a long time since I had dined at Mochas and was pleasantly surprised when I went there with some friends. Staff were so attentive and friendly and the food (burgers in particular) was great. Will be planning a return trip much sooner!

Food 4/5<br/>Ambience 4/5<br/>Service 5/5<br/><br/>Popular eatery opposite Century City with indoor and outdoor seating. We ordered the tasting menu of specials for the night ($60 for 2 people), which was fantastic value.<br/><br/>✔Honey chicken (6pcs): Reminiscent of that typical takeaway honey chicken but not too cloying, which was a nice change.<br/>✔Sweet gnocchi: Crispy gnocchi with fig jam and walnuts. Wasn't expecting much from this dish, but I adored the sweet-salty flavour combination.<br/>✔Mexican burrito bowl: A savoury break from the two sweet dishes that came before it. Sweet potatoes were cold? But the rest of the dish was good<br/>✔Carrot cake: The slice was honestly the size of a car, but I wasn't complaining. Served with cream and jam, the cake itself was strongly laden with spices, which paired well with the thick cream cheese frosting. My stomach was about to burst by the end but I would've been in pretty satisfactory misery.<br/><br/>Waitstaff were lovely and accommodating.<br/>Music was a little too loud in the restaurant on the night we went, but that's only a very small nitpick.<br/>Dish presentation was impeccable.<br/>Not sure if tasting menu is still available, but highly recommended if it is.<br/><br/>Edit 1: Went back a second time, which was a more disappointing visit. The thai beef salad was very tasty but only a small portion which I don't think was worth the $27 we paid for it. Furthermore, we found a piece of foil in the salad. It's not a big deal, but hopefully more care is taken in the preparation of the dishes in the future. As a sidenote, the dirty chai was great.

☕ MOCHA JO'S 🍳 Great Cafe!<br/><br/>LOADED CROISSANT! 🚚 @mochajos 📍<br/><br/>🥐 Buttered Croissant<br/>🧀 Three Cheese<br/>🍳 Chilli Scrambled Eggs<br/>🌭 Chorizo Crumble<br/>💦 Chipotle Mayo<br/>🥓 Crispy Bacon<br/>🍅 Tomatoes<br/><br/>BEST breakfast dish i have had in a while! 🔥 This beauty caught be by surprise ⚡ honestly wasn't expecting it to be this good! 😮 such a smart flavour combination! Flavours and textures that compliment eachother superbly! 👌🏽 the buttery sweet croissants loaded with a delicious three cheese chilli scramble and salty crispy bacon was epic! 😍 alllll brought together with a smooth creamy chipotle mayo and fresh hits from the tomato 🤗 the combination is PERFECT! 😁 hats off and crazy props to the chefs for creating this gem! 👨🏽‍🍳 there are a few croissant breakfast choices around that are thrown together, but the amount of thought gone into the balance of this dish is amazing! 😁 the croissant is still the hero of the dish! It just has some pretty damn good sidekicks 😎<br/><br/>☑ 9.5/10! HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🔥 Tastes ridiculously good 🤤 portion size was definitely loaded! (although i could have had about 7 just cause it tastes so good 😅) the only factor dropping this dish from being what would have been my first perfect score in a while, was that it was pretty expensive at $23.50 💰 but worth the money!<br/><br/>💡 TIP - no tip needed, get the damn loaded croissant! 😎

I’ve been wanting to check out this local cafe for quite some time and it sure didn’t disappoint. They have friendly staff and the food is great. We ordered the Hotcakes and Waffles and enjoyed both dishes, will definitely be coming back to check out the rest of the menu.

We were very hungry so delighted when the plates turned up with a decent amount of food. It was very tasty and I don’t think too bad a price for the quantity and quality. <br/>Service was ok, could have been a little sharper as the staff didn’t know the menu. They were busy so I can cut them some slack<br/>Coffee, good but not the best

Hi there !<br/>I’ve been to mocha jos a few times before as I love the famous sticky date pudding with ice cream- probably one of the best in town !<br/>However tonight I attended with my partner and we ordered off the specials menu. I ordered the curry chicken tacos and my partner ordered lamb shoulder and pita bread. The food was yum however my serving size for the tacos was small, only two tacos which didn’t fill me up ! A little disappointed that the menu didn’t indicate it was more like a sharing dish.<br/>I explained to the manager how it took the food 40 mins plus to come out and also have a very small meal was underwhelming, so he gave me a free meal on the house ! (chicken and mushroom risotto) Great service but don’t order the tacos if you’re hungry !🙌🏼😬☺️

Very busy cafe. Came around 9:30 am but got my seat outside but the environment was so nice. Food,10/10. Good quality and quantity. Staff was so friendly. Coffee was nice too. Good place to go for brunch!
Ramp It Up
No wheelchair access indoors without a small ramp. Access available indoors. Heated areas.<br/>Accessible toilet available, although the entry to the toilets and the accessible toilets is very narrow due to them storing chairs.<br/><br/>We came on a Friday night. Bookings essential.<br/><br/>Service was okay. We did wait a bit for our meals<br/><br/>But everything was lovely
Savvy And Lifestyle
I always have a good time with friends and family coming here. Mocha Jo's has been around for years and has quite a well known reputation in the area. I always opt for the risotto which is really nice, flavoursome and quite a decent size for myself. The menu has changed seamlesly over the years, however the prices don't really match what they offer bit over priced for my liking.

Another one of the local coffee places we go too, MJs has been a consistent performer. Coffees are great, food is good and staff is friendly. Always a pleasant experience visiting MJs 😊

This is one of my favourite cafe in Glen Waverley. Food is well presented and tasty. Coffee is ok. Nice outdoor seating area with heater, nice ambience.

The good wife had just picked up the key to her new car so we needed somewhere to drive to so came for lunch at Mocha Jo’s. It was a really nice day so we sat outside and soaked up the alfresco experience. Was actually quite a lot busier than I was expecting 1pm on a Thursday to be. <br/><br/>For me the choice was easy ... my eyes were immediately drawn to the wagyu brisket sliders which were all slow cooked in a sticky cola sauce. These were bloody good and the slider format worked much better than one big burger which could have been quite overpowering. Chips were ok too.<br/><br/>I didn’t try but the good wife raved about her Green Bowl of kale, asparagus, broccoli and zucchini (courgette). She opted for brown rice instead of the chicken add on which I myself think is a little bizarre but she claimed it really worked... so all credit to the dish creators. <br/><br/>Service was quite good and staff were helpful. Would happily return.

SERVICE: 4.5/5<br/>Fast, friendly and attentive. Young crew here but all working in rhythm like a well-oiled ship. Very busy so hats off to them for not making the service feel rushed. Enjoyable experience with thanks to the great service.<br/><br/>FOOD: 4/5<br/>When I arrived, my group already had eggplant chips on the table and were raving about how good they were. Indeed they were delicious, perfectly crunchy with the crumb coating accompanied by the aioli. A fun little starter to share.<br/><br/>The menu had a lot of great options. I went for the buttermilk chicken sliders with avo smash and substituted the bacon jam for onion relish. It was an interesting combo and couldn't quite imagine how it would work but boy it was tasty! The addition of the chipotle mayo carried the flavour through even more and by the time I was done with my 2 sliders + fries, I was content. It's a win when I eat burgers and don't suffer from "burger guilt", sliders were a good choice!<br/><br/>Homebrew peach iced tea with peach slices and strawberries was so refreshing. I could've had a jug of it, reminded me of the warm summer days around the corner.<br/><br/>DECOR & AMBIENCE: 4/5<br/>Was feeling very nostalgic sitting there as this used to be my usual hangout 10 years ago for lunches and dinner with the girls. Love seeing it still do so well over the years in such a highly competitive strip. The decor and ambience hasn't had a huge change hence feeling like I never left. Particularly love the layout where you can grab an indoor seat and feel you're still part of the action outside with the wrap-around bi-fold doors always open.<br/><br/>KID FRIENDLY: Pretty tight space indoors if you plan in bringing a pram otherwise I would recommend daytime dining alfresco for more comfort. Fairly loud bustling place too if you don't mind it.

Now I know why this shop always busy. I received 2 dozens of unshucked oysters. I tried to shucked it at home, but I couldn’t. My friend said maybe i can ask the sea food shop to help me. I went to the seafood shop, at first, the staff said yes, but after he asked his boss, he said no! I understand they’re almost closed, and my request is very wired. But still feel not quite comfortable. Then I went to the Japanese restaurant, the answer is no as well. Finally, I come to mocha Jo’s. The staff said he need to ask his chef. I was so helpless because they’re almost full of house. The kitchen must be busy at that moment. But the chef said yes! Also, I met their boss. A young guy who was seating in the back. He was super friendly! I will come here for dinner next time. And I will recommend this restaurant to all of my friends.

Great local cafe, very busy on the weekend. Coffee is nice and food was good. A bit noisy inside the small cafe as there is a lot of tables inside. Nice place to catch up with friends for coffee and cake. A lot of cake options! 😋

Real rating 3.5 ⭐️ <br/><br/>We had driven past Mocha Jo’s several times and decided to try it early this year and the experience was not too bad.<br/><br/>Smashed avo on toast - this dish was pretty tasty with the smooth avo spread and yummy bacon and runny egg! Everything was on point except that the serving was a little small. Would have liked another toast on it to spread the yumminess on.<br/><br/>Fried chicken and waffle - the waffles were a bit too soggy with it being drenched in too much maple syrup making the bacon and fried chicken too sweet to eat. It was a little disappointing as it was hard to taste the other elements of the dishes. Again, portions were a little small.<br/><br/>Overall, Mocha Jo’s was a slight hit and miss but we would try it again in the future.

❤️: Service was ok plus heater outside. Been here for coffees and dessert at night quite often. Coffee also ok. <br/>💔: Chilli scrambles was not that chilly and not really tasty. Both meals came with the kinda donut bread which is hard and dry, just only crunchy at the sesame side. Breakfast menu also limited too, wouldn’t recommend.
Richard Tom
Had a good experience, started very quiet then got really busy but service was still on point, food went down well, ordered the breakfast, but the longblack wasn’t too my liking, too much of a dark roast leaving it too bitter.
Jennifer
I go here quite often and I must say that it never disappoints. Always reliable for good food. Love the ambience of this place too. Would not hesitate to go back again 😊

**3.5 stars** I’ve come here a few times to try some of the food. My favourite go-to dish is the “Parmesan crusted chicken breast” (everything on the plate is seriously yummy). It goes well with a hot white chocolate. In contrast, the bolognese was salty and heavy that I couldn’t finish even half my plate. The waffle and the burger are okay. Good service and nice ambience 👍

Chicken Risotto For $28? And we get 1 piece of chicken with little bit of rice. Rice was no more than a small fist size! The chicken piece size was standard but quite plain. What the hell? The food there used to be so good.<br/><br/>Having drinks there is good. Great service from the staff. Dark skin guy (maybe supervisor/manager) was really nice & professional. <br/><br/>There was a blonde waitress there also nice but too energetic sometimes with the off-duty staff sitting there. <br/><br/>Can be distracting when we trying to catch up with friends and they're louder than us or jumping up and down. Rushing in & out. <br/><br/>The Asian waiter & waitress was quite fast & friendly too. Overall is a good vibe. Good friendly place & staff<br/><br/>Our friends tried other food there too but just wasn't great for the price.<br/><br/>Cakes & drinks is good.

Always reliable for a good meal. Staff are friendly and the menu has a good selection. We had the Superfood Brekky and Benedict’s with grilled bacon. Both didn’t disappoint. Would definitely drop in again for a meal.

Been here a couple of times for dinner and always enjoyed ourselves. Great spot for a cosy night out with good food and service. We also tried the sticky date pudding which was yummy!
The Food Vogue By Le Seynt
Shared the sticky date pudding. My family loved it but I thought it was a little bit too sweet for me. I might try something else on the menu the next time I’m back.

First of all, Service is excellent .. love all the staffs there ! <br/>Secondly, Coffeeee is amazinggg... " cappuccino with extra froth.."<br/>Thirdly, my super brekkie is hmmm... moderate ! Not as Great as I expected... ( 20$ ) <br/><br/>Will prob come back for a superb coffee

I came here for brunch with a friend a few weeks ago and was delighted to see some vegan options that looked really different and delicious! I have the vegan hotcakes a go and they were really really delicious, the blueberry yogurt was really nice as it was not tooo sweet, the hotcakes themselves were nice and moist. I personally don’t like mandarins so the freeze dried mandarins were pretty much left on the plate (I tried one and I was not a fan but that’s more based on my preferences). Delicious stuff!

This is a lovely restaurant which offers a wide variety of cuisines. I came here for dinner with a group of friends and ordered the salt and peppered calamari. I am very fussy when it comes to how calamari is cooked, but I really enjoyed taste of the Mocha Jo's dish. It was a great serving size and was full of flavour. I will be back again!<br/>

YUM! Came here for breakfast and had the granola. It was a large serve which I would normally not be able to eat but it was so tasty, I couldn’t leave any! Blueberry coconut yogurt was delicious. Coffee was ok. Service very good. Lots of delicious things to choose from on the menu.

Love their hot chocolate found its one of the best in the area. However, pretty standard brunch menu so it's very hard when you compare with all those fancy one in cbd.

Located in the busy spot in glen Waverley so hard to find parking. Service is good and food is of decent quality and portion. Good vibe <br/>Look out for new items written on the board

This place has a really cool concept operating essentially out of a small little hole in the wall. They produce solid burgers which we have enjoyed on a few occasions now. Their milkshakes are also really good and remind us of an American diner.
Charlie
Friendly staff. Above average cafe food. Spacious environment. Good coffee. Price is slightly expensive. Recommended for a try, but if it keeps increasing the price, it will not be worth the time and money for it.

As cafes in Glen Waverley come and go, Mocha Jo's stands strong against their nearby competitors and have a decent reputation for returning customers. They have evolved their menu over the years for the better to keep up with culinary trends and have upped their game to stay on top. Their service and staff is impressive with friendly and helpful waiters memorising orders and delivering without a hitch. Their plating and presentation has improved whilst keeping the ambiance a casual and comfortable place for newcomers and regulars alike. I've been coming here for some time and have always been impressed and surprised. Well done Mocha Jo's!

This restaurant is our special brunch place. Usually, we go to the restaurant on the weekend. I think it’s very hot in Glen Waverley. I recommend Croissants with spicy sauce on the scrambled eggs(I forgot dish name 😅). The flavour is amazing. Last time I haven’t order it. Sorry I can’t post photos for you. But I promise it is very good.

This is one of my partner and I's favourite places to go for dinner. The menu is always on point and the food almost faultless. Service here is always of good quality, professional and friendly.<br/>Very much recommend either for a meal or coffee and dessert. The food never disappoints

Burger lovers! This is a go to place indeed, their quantity and quality both are top notch and certainly they are best in their department and they do take their food seriously. Ambience and decor is nice and a very chilled out place situated right at the corner of the street. The burgers were huge and so satisfying. Try their fried chicken burger and bacon burger. Temptation at its best!

Went to "mocha joes" last week, the name confuses me as it strikes me as more of a restaurant than a good ol fashion coffee stop. Went here with 2 male friends. The conversation sensational as always. Staff here are nice, polite cool kid and nice and attentive. Has the Burger of some variety. I can't actually Remember what is was but it was not bad. Slightly above average. O had a peach ice tea which was refreshing although I hate mason jars. They are lame get rid of them. Overall happy dinner at Mocha Joes, solid 3.5, maybe feeling generous as my company was good. Always rate higher if a place treat me well. Good stuff Moch Joes

It's my reliable "go-to" in Glen Waverley for coffee and cake, and sometimes dinner with friends. The outdoor area offers a quieter space, and is well heated. Slightly on the expensive side given the cheap eats surrounding restaurants offer. <br/>I tried their burger outlet for the first time last night. Burgers were made with fresh ingredients and the meat was juicy. I appreciated that there was a grilled chicken option over deep fried. But both burgers we ordered lacked in taste. For a burger, I definitely prefer YOMG - we came here because we couldn't be bothered waiting in the YOMG queue.

I come to MJ all the time ! I have been going for years and the menu is always changing but consistently good ! I love the sticky date pudding from here and its one of the things that have stayed on the menu for years and years to come I am hoping ! Love seeing this cafe evolve

Good feed can’t complain. Service was attentive . Loved the menu and it’s many choices, but I must admit the prices are probably a tad higher than I expected.

Had the wagyu beef burger with no bacon. Not a fan of the brioche bun. The whole burger itself was quite sweet. Although the chips are very addictive! Great service from staff

Always seen the place been packed by people especially the seats outside the cafe. Great location and ambiance. Ordered a Louisiana Waffles, it was pretty for instagram and delicious for my tummy. However my pregnant cousin ordered Eggs Begs and asked for well cooked poached eggs, unfortunately came out half raw and had to ask the waiter to take it back to get it well done. It was hard to get a waiter to see our raising hands (they were not serving or anything just stood at the waiter station chatting). <br/>The foods aren’t special and the service needs to be improved a bit more.<br/>It’s a great spot to catch up with friends but just go for the food, I’m sure there are better places.

We ordered the seafood spaghetti and the Wagyu beef and bacon burger from the dinner menu.<br/><br/>Food: The serving size of the seafood spaghetti was good however it lacked seasoning which didn’t allow the seafood to reach its full potential.<br/><br/>Burger was huge and rich in flavour. I honestly struggled to fit it all in one mouthful. Beef patty was a little dry but that was complimented by a beautiful mustard sauce. Bacon was plentiful and not too greasy.<br/><br/>Service: Unfortunately the worst and most defining part of our whole experience. Waited almost an hour for our food to arrive only to find out our order had not been placed. Staff were very apologetic and provided complimentary drinks.<br/><br/>Set us back $55 not including the complimentary drinks which was not the most bang for your buck.<br/><br/>Overall not the most satisfactory experience from a Kingway mainstay. But food is king and food was good.

Coffee - ordered flat white, came with a mountain of froth (cappuccino style)<br/><br/>Food - came out 20 mins after coffee, despite being relatively quiet. Ordered Bacon Benedict, poached eggs cooked to a good consistency. Bagel was hard and tough to chew.

We went to lunch here on a Friday afternoon. You can sit inside or outside. We chose inside as it was hot. Water arrived but no ice until I asked for some, as it was very warm. I had the chicken sliders with chips. Very limited cocktail menu. My chicken sliders with avocado smash and bourbon bacon jam and string chips with lemon aioli was delicious. I wanted dessert but was full as portions were big. Staff were great and we enjoyed our meals.

Love this place and best place in Glen Waverley may be that’s why they are still in business after all this years keep it up guys can’t wait to be back and also coffee was ok too can’t say anything bad

Coffee good, food stingy. I ordered the 'superfood' breakfast which was supposed to come with certain 'superfoods' in the meal. The portion for $19.50 was smaller than my hand, I was too embarrassed to take a photo of it. I asked the waitress about the onion jalapeno jam it was served with and she also couldn't find it and then decided it was smeared on the toast under the avocado. I don't know where the mozzarella was, and the kale was two 1cm squared pieces that I confused for garnish. I was so disappointed and absolutely starving after I inhaled it in 5 minutes. There should have been an abundance of nice healthy green food on my plate and I could hardly find anything that was mentioned on the menu from it. Coffee was very nice though which got them this score.
Guava&Coco
Came here with my boyfriend for brunch on a Thursday noon and was greeted by extremely friendly and efficient staff members. The coffee was exceptional and food delicious. Ordered the chilli cheese scramble, eggs begs and French fries with truffle aioli. The spicy scrambled eggs matched the softness of the bagel and the truffle aioli is one of the smoothest I’ve tasted. But word of warning. The entire restaurant only has one aircon, it was either lacking in power or faulty, the day we were there was 32 degrees and it felt like eating within a sauna. Wouldn’t be quick to go back anytime soon during summer.

This burger and Edible Garden for dessert were yum. I also like their sticky date and chai lattes - both pretty sweet. Tried their calamari a while ago which was a bit average. Staff are nice and attentive.

Really busy spot in Glen Waverley but to be honest it was just okay. While there is a lot of effort in presentation, the flavours were basic and under flavoured. The prices are average & with decor was simple and neat. I think the appeal is the location rather than anything else. I would pop past again if other places there were busy, but probably only for coffee! <br/><br/>•Follow me, McFoodie Jones, as I explore Melbourne for hidden foodie treasures to stuff my face with•
ToFeedTwo
After a day lounging by the pool #ToFeedTwo were down for some burger type food. We went and tried Mocha Jo’s after hearing some good reviews.<br/><br/>We ordered the Chicken Sliders and Brioche Club Sandwich with extra aioli sauce. The Chicken Sliders were tasty and easy to eat while the sandwich was a little harder to eat and had to be cut into threes. The sandwich was enjoyable but was on the sloppy side. Due to its decent size the meal could feed two as I only got through half!

Interesting brunch/ breakfast menu! The waffles both sweet and savoury were nice and flavourful! My husband tried their chicken Parma and thought the dish was quite average! I’d still visit again to try some more dishes.

● Visit 1<br/>Mocha Jo's is one of those cafes everybody who lives in the area has been to at least once.<br/><br/>The vibe and service at Mocha Jo's is very welcoming! I went with a group of mates for some hot drinks on a cold day. We ordered a couple of mochas, hot chocolates and one white chocolate. The hot choc was better than the mocha as the mocha lacked the taste of chocolate. I also found that all our drinks were not warm/ hot enough.<br/><br/>I'd love to go back and try their food, but for now, my experience at Mocha Jo's has been mediocre.<br/><br/>● Visit 2<br/>Visited Mocha Jo's for brekky this morning and was pretty happy with it for the most part.<br/><br/>There is one thing about cafes so big that confuses me a little tho - coffee without coffee art? Really? The coffee looks so unpresentable.<br/><br/>Anyway, the food was good. Ordered the dish with smashed avo and the one with chilli scrambled eggs. Both fairly good.
Good Food Good Mood
So happy that MJ’s sent me out an invite to dine solo with them. I’ve known this place has existed for an eon but I’ve never had the chance to go check it out. With the relatively recent addition of a burger bar, a fun and relaxed atmosphere and super speedy service you are definitely in for a treat. Not to mention the menu and cake cabinet include lots of amazing looking desserts too.<br/>I chose to try the smoothie bowl which was a delicious blends of mango banana and pittaya something quite unique compared with the standard açai we typically see. It was made even more yummy by the addition of coconut yoghurt and dried mango both of which provided quite a delightfully different taste. <br/>Chia, pepitas and granola rounded out the contrasting textures all of which was topped by pretty flowers and fresh fruit. Just bursting with interesting flavours and I experienced something new and different with each mouthful.<br/>I also decided to get the eggplant chips as a bit of a naughty Friday treat which were also very tasty. Breakfast, lunch or dinner this place has got you covered
Melbourne To Mouth
Stopped here on a random Tuesday night out in GW and wasn’t disappointed by their epic burgs. The double stacked Southern Cali was a highlight but everything else was awesome. Will definitely be back!

Very lively place to be at for a brunch or dinner. Staff is very well greeting and friendly too. The quantity of food is huge and stays true to the price! The burgers specially are one of the best I've had. Will definitely keep going!

Came here for dinner two times, both were generous portions. Pasta was pretty average but the lamb plate was very tasty. Good variety on the menu and decent service. Good place to go when people all don't want he same thing, and has a decent vibe.

Since the change in owners the menu is very limited with not much room to decide. Food is average but not amazing in terms of taste. Had the lamb souvlaki which had a great salad but the meat wasn’t as flavoured or cooked as well as it should be. It came out looks like a stir fry meat rather than a souvlaki meat.
Flying Forward
Points for: casual coffee & lunch, location<br/><br/>Standing the test of time, Mocha Jo's has been more of a place to hang out than anything else, with tables covering the entire corner of Kingsway & Montclair. <br/><br/>Coffee is a hit and miss, depending on your barista. I never thought I'd be such a snob, but I once returned a latte because it arrived watery, with no microfoam and filled 1cm from the top of the glass. Come to think of it, it's more of a miss, as recent experience still produces an average cup.<br/><br/>I do commend MJs on keeping up with the trends though, as they have their burger bar attached at the rear end, and they also keep their menu updated with fluffy pancakes, chilli scrambled eggs, breakfast chia bowls, baked eggs, now all plated up with the usual micro flowers.<br/><br/>So MJs now have to fight harder for the brunch crowd with the recent arrivals of Workshop Bros and White Mojo, but they have the advantage of an excellent corner.

Been there on the cup day for brunch with the whole family of 5 people. Everything was perfect. Outstanding service in Kingsway. The food is delicious. Love it. Will be back.
Taeyeon's Hamster
Mocha Jo's is one of the popular and well known cafes in Glen Waverley. They have a large variety of dishes on both their breakfast and lunch menu. If you are like us, and enjoy the brunch hype, the lunch menu consists several brekky plates as well as lunch mains. They are also famous for their desserts and cakes if you want to satisfy your sweet cravings. Generous portions served and fairly well balanced.  So far, all the dishes we have tried are very satisfying and highly recommend.

The food was delicious and nicely cooked. Portion was fair. Service was very friendly with a minor and rather uncharacteristic hiccup. <br/><br/>It seems to be a common theme on the Glen Waverley strip that restaurants are overpriced for their caliber. Not so much that it feels like a complete rip-off, but just enough that it feels like a thorn at your side.<br/><br/>The Chicken Slider for entrée was very well made and tasty. Chicken was juicy and crispy, the bun was soft and beautifully toasted, and the sauces provided a nice kick of flavor. At $9.90 for a single slider however, well you guessed it.....I had no complaints about Mediterranean Lamb for the main course. A generous portion of well cooked and flavorful lamb, a generous serving of warm pita along with salad. Price was once again slightly high. Knocking 15-20% off prices across the entire menu would make this place well worth a second visit.<br/><br/>While service was very friendly it took the waitresses several long minutes to bring my main dish despite the meal being ready on the kitchen counter ready to be delivered. Two waitresses stood by the ready meals and chatted away happily. The dishes (now getting colder) were completely ignored until the chef rang the bell, and only then one of the waitresses snapped out of their happy chit chat and got on with their duties.

Having been to mocha joe’s for both brunch and dinner, I can definitely say it’s variety of food is wonderful and doesn’t disappoint. Although slightly pricier than you’d expect, every item on the menu is full of flavour and serving sizes are large enough to fill you up but small enough to save room for dessert. <br/>The coffee was also well above average, making this cafe/restaurant a to-go-to suburban brunch spot.
Hungry_for_burgers
Definitely a favourite local burger joint! Fantastic staff and even better burgers, not too mention their pizza loaded fries and Mac & cheese patties 🍔😍

Came for a friends birthday, about 9 of us were there and the food came out at a reasonable time considering it was a busy Saturday and we had a larger table of people than usual. I ordered the lamb grill and it was AMAZING!!! The only downfall is that the entire menu is way over priced, yet my friends enjoyed their meals too.

Hands down best breakfast I have ever had. <br/>I had the veggie brekky and my boyfriend had the fried chicken and waffles. His opinion was that it was great but needed more chicken. <br/>Mine was incredible, the beetroot was perfectly sweet and flavourful and egg perfectly cooked. Persian feta was deliciously creamy and went well with the other elements. <br/>Really friendly staff as well even though they were crazy busy on a wonderful Saturday morning. <br/>Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu
