I love the Thai green curry here! The venue is very small but quaint! They use to do this amazing steamed egg custard for dessert but sadly it’s no longer on the menu :(
This is our ‘go to’ whenever we want local Thai. The staff are always very attentive and I they cater to both small & large groups. The food is magnificent with only quality meals delivered to the table in the past 20 years we have frequented here
My partner and I had an awesome meal here midweek. The staff are lovely, the decor was authentic and the food was delicious! The servings are small upon arrival however they filled our hungry stomachs! We will be back as the value for money was great too :)
I and my family have been coming here/ordering via Deliveroo for years. To the best of my knowledge, this is authentic Thai food. The meals are filling and delicious, personal favourites are the Tamarind fish and the pad Thai. The atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and inviting and the service is quick. I would recommend this for a tasty, convenient and affordable meal in the Glen Waverley area.
This place really does special authentic Thai food. Located on Coleman parade opposite Syndal station sits this lovely Thai restaurant. Staff are very polite and very attentive. Food comes out at a normal pace, the Thai tofu salad is my favourite as it feels quite warm, inviting and nourishing. This place has been here for many years and is constantly packed at night, it just goes to show it's quite popular and in my books.
This place has been in my bookmarks for quite some time now and I was really pleased that I was finally able to try it the other week. The food is quite nice and one of the best I’ve ever had. Would recommend 👌
Rise of Thailand has fast become my favourite Thai restaurant. A spacious restaurant with lovely decor touches (think gold and silver table cloths and intricate wooden partition) creates a relaxing atmosphere. It’s busy even on a weekday evening, but not crowded. The food is superb - authentic flavours and well-prepared generous sized dishes. The service is excellent too - friendly and hospitable.
My go-to in Glen Waverley for authentic, flavoursome Thai food. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend dining in, as the restaurant resembles somebodies dining room but the food is on point - frequent customer with no complaints 👌🏽
My meals have always been delicious. I love that Rose of Thailand offer two Vegan Curry options and always check if I want fish sauce or not! :)
A few us girls went here for a birthday dinner. The food was amazing and very reasonable in price. It's a cosy place right in front of a station so parking was easy as well. The staff were so friendly, they brought out dessert with a candle lit for the birthday girl. Definitely recommend for a casual dinner
Nice, satisfying and reasonably priced dishes. Really enjoyed the pad thai and tom yum soup. Bonus points for the fish tanks which the kids always enjoy 😊
My favourite Thai restaurant place as always, came here for dinner couples of time , the taste is still decent . I like their stir fry seafood and curry dishes . I personally think this is better than the Thai restaurant in kingsway .
Good food, very flavoursome. Old lady is really cute! Only issue was the last time the chicken tasted a bit funny in the chicken and cashew meal.
Very Authentic Thai food nicely presented quick friendly helpful service . .prices very reasonable . .decor isn't flash .but the meal makes up for that .Excellent : )
Came for dinner a few years back and it hasn't changed a bit. Lovely family owned thai restaurant. It's nice when you order rice they're big servings. Green curry was delish. I should come here more often!
Longevity of this family run suburbia Thai institution
I can't remember the first time I had my Thai fix here, it has been that long, ever since then I've been coming back once in a while.
How long ago? I'm sure it's not as long as the family matriarch - Grandmother that hangabout in the dining area on most evening, I think she holds the recipes.
Nothing fancy, just good, tasty and enjoyable Thai food coming out from that kitchen of Grandma's goodness.
BYO and good times guarantee.
Best Thai food I've ever had - authentic and so flavorsome. The whole family loved their meals and we have returned several times. The staff are very warm and welcoming.
This is definitely my favourite Thai restaurant hands down. If you are after authentic Thai food at reasonable prices, I would really recommend this place. Having attended this restaurant on several occasions, I would definitely recommend trying the; beef hot plate, green curry chicken and the pad thai.
Awesome food with great service as well :)
The go-to Thai restaurant for my wife and I.
We've been here countless times, and it's just great overall value. The flavours are wonderful, service attentive, and food comes out relatively quickly.
Favourite dishes are the spicy chicken with cashew nuts, tamarind prawns, and spicy basil chicken. Any two of those dishes (the portion sizes are large) plus sharing a steamed rice, comes to about $40. That includes the complimentary shrimp chips with satay sauce to whet your appetite. However, we don't recommend the beef hotplate, as it becomes chewy as it continues to cook on the plate after being delivered to the table. Also, we stay away from the entrees, but to be fair we have yet to find any Thai restaurant with entrees that do not seem extremely overpriced.
Located across the road from Syndal railway station on the Glen Waverley line this is absolutely delicious simple Thai worth the trip from anywhere in Melbourne. Staff lovely and attentive. The fried rice and the hot plates were the highlight. Will definitely be back for more.
A bit of the beaten track, this place serves no-nonsense homely thai food by thai people. I feel the flavours are more authentic than the places in Glen Waverley. Prices are very reasonable and the service is good. The giant space is a bit drab and dated, but you are here for the food, and it certainly ticks that box. Come for takeaways often.
Great Food and Great Value. Had dinner there last Friday night in a group of 8 people. Chose the smallest banquet, which they happily allowed us to make some changes to. They also told us since there were 8 of us they would bring more food once it had all come out if we were still hungry, which they did. They didn't charge extra for the extra food.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We brought our own wine, although some purchased soft drinks, The $2 per person corkage (only for those drinking the wine) is reasonable. All up we paid $32 per head.
Highly recommended.
Tonight, I dined with my lovely friend C at Rose of Thailand . We opted for ‘Set Q’ which consisted of a Green Curry Chicken, Thai Salad, Spicy Cashew nut chicken and a side of rice. I really enjoy roti, so we ordered a side of that along for the ride as well. Set Q Both the chicken dishes were really yummy – the green curry was fragrant and tasty, whilst the spicy cashew nut was a good balance of sweet and sour with enough spiciness to add a little kick (but not punch you out). The salad was a little disappointing, as the only Thai element that accompanied the lettuce, cucumber, tomato and egg combo was the peanut sauce. But nevertheless, it was a good break up from the richness of the curry and the spiciness of the cashew nut chicken. Despite being incredibly full and very satisfied, we ordered dessert: a Sticky Rice and Egg Custard with Coconut ice cream. It was lovely and not too sweet (the coconut ice cream was the star though –
My favorite Thai restaurant. Nice environment, well cooked food, friendly staff, reasonable price. Came to know this restaurant out of conincedence a few years ago but keeps coming back regularly after that
10 of us had dinner plus a toddler. Service and ambience was pleasant, moreover food arrived quickly and correctly. Red duck curry was delightful along with the spicy noodles. Pad Thai sadly was bland along with the minuscule prawn spring rolls & processed fish cakes. The basil chicken rice, prawn fried rice, whole barramundi & seafood hot plate made up for this though. The banana fritter and ice cream was okay- the batter was dry lacking crispness and the portion was odd: 2 large scoops ice cream for half a banana. Otherwise it was pleasant enough. I'd still recommend here to eat though as overall the food was quite good.
Excellent Thai restaurant. What a marvelous restaurant with the best meal and service. I'll be back definitely.
Such a gorgeous place I've ever been to. The food and service were admirable as i expected. I've never seen any place has the small beautiful aquarium with lovely nemo and amazing lion fish. I do recommend ROSE OF THAILAND for whom who adore going to Thai restaurant.
Great Thai. Good food, great taste, great price.
Well priced and good serves. Staff are friendly and do anything you ask.
The secret is sometimes you need to ask as, you generally don't get pre-emptive service, but who needs it when the food is great and staff lovely? If you want 5 star pre-emtive service go somewhere else and pay for it.
This place is a regular for me.
Thai trip. Come him regularly and absolutely love it, great meals and wonderful service!
Outstanding food and service. We go there often
Good food and service. Decor feels dated but to me that's part of the charm. Feels like a restaurant run by a family that's been passed down from a previous generation and has warmth. Not hip or trendy but you know what you will get which is good thai food and friendly service.
Very good dinner. Our party of five thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Reasonable price, fast service and all food was very good. Our favourites were split: green curry, roast duck curry and fried fish. We will certainly go again!
I'm particular with satay sauce, but this place impressed me so badly... great complement for Chef..
Tried this restaurant based on the high approval rating and excellent reviews. Whilst we weren't unhappy with the food, we only thought it was ok and nothing special. I'd like to try some additional dishes to get a better overall sense of what they have to offer. Like I said, food was fine but I did expect a little better based on very good reviews to date.
Food is always great here. Service is friendly. great both for couples and families. Have eaten here many times and will keep coming back.
Keep coming back! My favorite local restaurant! The service is always wonderful and friendly ans the food is great value. Keep up the good work.
The service is fast and friendly. The yellow curry is amazing. The fried rice with beef is a great side dish. Great dining.
Have eaten here many times, one of my favourite restaurants. I really love the aquariums keeps kids entertained. Staff are friendly and efficient. I make a point of trying each of the chefs specials every month and would highly recommend these.
Great food. I have been going to this restaurant for few years no, never dissatisfied with food ir the service. Also has nice decor with fish tanks. Used to love the buffet lunch, pity they don't do it anymore. Highly recommend:-)
Good food, friendly staff. I have always been a bit of a picky eater, but I have eaten here many times and found many delicious dishes to enjoy. The staff are always polite and friendly. I couldn't praise them enough on how good their service is.
Big Fish. I will like this restaurant because it is usually good. However the last time I went there it was bad. I ordered this large steamed Barramundi for $28.90 and it was basically a very bland whole fish with a very strong lemon taste that made my eyes water. My friend's beef was tough. In the end I just ate the plain white rice, which tasted like plain white rice. This was predictable and comforting. Maybe next time the fish will be nicer.
Delicious food and lovely staff. Went here with a large group on a busy saturday night, and staff were very friendly and attentive. The Pad Thai was absolutely delicious, and portions were quite large and reasonably priced. Would definitely go again!
Sensational food & lovely service. We adore our Thai food and enjoy trying different thai restaurants around town or interstate, but Rose of Thailand, which happens to be our local restaurant, always comes out on top. The flavours are beautiful and authentic, the servings are more generous than anywhere I've seen and the staff are very attentive & friendly. The decor is pretty cheap and tacky but the food and service makes up for it well and truly and it's nicer than some (At least there's carpet and not tiles) Cosy and welcoming. We have red duck curry, thai green curry, Spicy Basil leaves stir fry veggies and the seafood hotplate is beautiful...heaps of seafood! Love it.
Best Pad Thai Cute thai feeling resturant Love the place
We had a wonderful night at Rose of Thailand. The service was excellent. Waitresses were very polite. We ordered rose cocktails, red duck curry, garlic roti, pineapple fried rice and some desserts. Everything tasted fantastic. I will definitely come back regularly!
Great food at reasonable prices and the staff are always friendly. I've never dined in, but the restaurant is well styled.
Fantastic dishes, great service and a nice restaurant as well. Monday specials. Definitely will return.
Cozy little place for Thai food. The food is good, not too spicy so your mouth won't be begging for water after. The service is good and attentive.
Highly recommended. Their Pad Thai was the best that I ever had Rest of the food was tasty too.
Stuff was very polite and helpful
I ordered Thai curry and fried rice enjoyed the meal. Friendly atmosphere and good service.
