It has a reasonable selection of hot pot ingredients along with sides that cost a little extra I. E. Chicken wings etc. We left feeling very full and satisfied
Good amount of foods to choose from although sometimes it does take a little longer for some items to be served. Really satisfies hot pot cravings with their decent portions. A little pricey but will definitely be back.
The food and service here was amazing! The only downside was the price (roughly $34 per person) is a bit expensive, but the food made up for it.

This lovely little place in Glen Waverley is my new go to hot pot place. Buffet style, the service and quality of food exceeds expectations. The owners are very sweet and are always checking on you and making sure you have everything you want. The vegetables and sauces and cold dishes are self serve, and the meat is ordered. All you can eat for just $32, make sure you go with an empty stomach because you will definitely want to try everything.

I had such a great time here! We went for their all-you-can-eat hot pot at dinner. There was a good selection of items for the hot pot. The choices aren’t very innovative, but some highlights were the nice fresh prawns, hand-made noodles and tender beef. The side dishes are a very nice touch and are delicious.
The soup though is just okay, and the sauces, a small but satisfactory selection, were portioned out too small, so it becomes a bit annoying to keep asking for more.
However the service was very friendly and we felt happy being there.

My group of friends have a tradition of coming here every Winter for hot pot. Even during the warmer weather, it does not deter us when the craving hits! The broth never disappoints; tasty, rich, deliciously in-depth, and has a good kick ☺️ We would gather around the steaming pot while we enjoy the meal together and chatter away.
Best hot pot in Melbourne because the service is good and the soup bases (tasty and/or spicy) are also very good. Soup base full of flavour and is soo good especially on cold days. Ingredients are good too, many to choose from. Use to order everything at the table but they have now introduced self serve items from the freezer which is good cos you get whatever amounts you want to eat. Really recommend this place for hot pot.
Only new to Hot Pot dining, however I'm a massive fan! The buffet dinner was delicious, with the option for 2 different soups. Highlights included the sliced beef and homemade noodle. Seafood was frozen but to be expected, so cant complain. Excellent customer service, very friendy and will return.

I went there for the hot pot buffet which is good value for your money. The service was well done, the staff were polite and attentive. I had called in before to arrange a more pescetarian friendly meal which Anna was more than happy to accommodate for. All staff attending to our table were made aware of the dietary requirements, and when one made an error it was quickly rectified. All in all, a great place to go to
Enjoyed a good hotpot restaurant with all you can eat option. Plenty of varieties from the menu to pick and share amongst your friends. Booking is a must for this place as the restaurant tends to get pretty pack out. Only concern was the service provide on a busy night but staff were friendly overall. Not that many hotpot restaurants in the Glen Waverley area which makes XJ a standout in terms of price, variety, cleanliness and prompt service. The Eat All You Want buffet is a good deal and the soup both spicy and normal broth are steaming with flavour to whet your hotpot tastebuds. Love both their hot and cold dishes. This place is always packed but service doesn’t suffer from it. Also because of its popularity, booking is a must. Certainly the kind of comfort goodness on a cold winters day.
I went here with a group of 14 for a birthday. The service was lovely and friendly. They're very generous with their sauces, some other places that I've eaten at give you a tiny bowl. I love my sauce. The meat was good, and the veggies were ace. The soup base was nice. Also discoverwd this awesome wintermelon in a can drink!!

Hot Pot is always a fun and interactive dinner date! X J hot pot is wonderfully priced, with an all you can eat for just over $30 per person, and the options are certainly not limited!
My suggestion (as recommended by the staff) is to order a mixture of hot pot dishes and cold dishes. The hand made noodles are particularly good, and are speedily rolled out in front of you before being dropped into the broth :D
All you can eat hot pot at a very good price ! The service is a little slow possibly to limit the amount of food you get but there are no time limits so if your happy to wait or ask a few times you will be fine . Everyone is very friendly there and the flavour of the soup is good !! Lots of variety of hot pot items to choose from too

XJ hot pot house has always been my favourite place for dinner. They have a range of fresh food and cold dishes that I always love to order. I just held my birthday party in this restaurant and luckily they have a "super deal" promotion going on which provide everyone with free drinks. Moreover, if you bring minimum 10 friends to the restaurant for buffet you can get 1 person's meal for free!!!!! I really enjoyed my experience in there and all my friends loved it so much! We will surely go back again! Thank you XJ hot pot house!

The soup stock is really tasty. I love the spicy chicken and chilli noodles(cold dishes) the most. Homemade noodles is what you must order if you go to XJ.

Just been to this amazing place two days ago, they now have a promotion of one FREE drink pp because they are celebrating their 12th anniversary!!!Hahah so lucky, the cold dishes are amazing, and so as the pancake!!! The lady boss will do the homemade noodle in front of you which is very fancy :)) oh and we went their for a birthday, they now also offer 1 free buffet if you're over 10 people!!

Just been here a few days ago with my family. When we walked in it was really warm and cosy. They are now doing a promotional offer for buffet menu which only cost 32.8! Which also included free soft drink for the table which was Great, The soup broth was so delicious and i would recommend the garlic sauce and the homemade Noodles which is pulled by the lady boss. The waiter and the boss was really nice and friendly

This place has a nice homely feel differing to the other more established hot pot venues- but that's what makes it nice. Food is simple but tasty, seemed fresher than a lot of hot pot places I've been to.
The one sauce per person policy was strange but I only realised that later and ordered two and they didn't charge me more hehe. Make sure you get handmade noodles where they basically stretch it out in front of your table- pretty cool! Would def come back again!
I came here with 6 others on a chilly Friday night (what's new in Melbourne, right?) without a booking at around 8pm. We were seated instantly on a large circular table at the back of the restaurant. Can't fault this Hot Pot House! You'll be spoiled for choice! For $32.50 if my memory serves me correctly, you get UNLIMITED hot pot! I'm talking ALL YOU CAN EAT soup refills, meat, fish balls, vegetables, noodles, the lot!
Definitely recommend the sesame dipping sauce which goes perfectly with any vegetables and the meat (beef, pork or lamb). Will definitely be coming back for my next hot pot cravings!!

Definitely value for money if you're going for the all you can eat buffet option. Great place to go with 4 people and it does get quite busy! I've been going here for years. I'm not saying it's the best hot pot in Melbourne, but it's cheap and you get to fill your tummys up with tasty meat and veggies! I always pick the spicy soup even though it might get too spicy. Don't expect too much from the service either. The staff are always busy so just wave them a few times and you'll be looked after.

Lady boss and all staff are great. Food delicious - a great Hot Pot experience -- upstairs function room has a karaoke machine. We didn't dare step to it, but I dare say would have lifted to the next level -- depending on who was singing. Ha-ha-ha! Highly recommended!

All you can eat hotpot. Great value if you have hungry diners. You can also do a la carte but i personally find the all you can eat better value at $32.80 p/p. Both soups available, are perfect for winter cold nights. The non spicy is a herby chicken type soup while the spicy has a kick to it depending on your choice of spicy levels. Favourite dishes include slice lamb, schezuan pork meat ball, enoki mushroom, chinese pancake, and cold spicy beef.
Pretty darn good hotpot in the area. You get a pretty good selection of hot pot ingredients and snacks from the all you can eat selection. Though every time I've come here, I order the hand stretched noodles and they always 'conveniently forget' until you remind them. Definitely recommend for those who love an authentic spicy hot pot. Will always return to this place if I want hot pot in glen Waverley

The ingredients are pretty standard in quality, with a few better than average, and one or two that were pretty poor. The layout of the restaurant and the sufficient room on the table and between the tables is a plus. The fact that it is all you can eat for $30 when including seafood made me pretty happy, especially when considering there are such limited options in the south east. Definitely a place of solid quality and level of enjoyment. The only thing that annoyed me was the only male waiter that was there at the time. He was quite aloof and seemed annoyed and surprised when we asked for basic things like cups (which hadn't been brought with the bottled tap water). He also blatantly ignored my obvious attempt to get his attention. He was talking to the other staff casually then literally looked right at me before turning away. Another waitress who had her back to us happened to turn around and see me, then had to tell him to come over. Aside from that, the place is a bit of a godsend in the area of you don't want to DIY steamboat.
Our goto place for all your can eat hotpot in Glen Waverley. Not as refined or as well presented as what you might find in Dainty Box Hill, but it is cheaper. Make sure you book ahead as it does get very crowded and I've seen disappointed diners get turned away on many occasions. My favourites are the prawns, the hand stretched noodles and the mouth watering chicken.

When I'm starving and just wanna stuff myself with food, XJ Hot Pot House comes to the the rescue! Great bang for buck hot pot place. We always go for the $29.80 all you can eat deal. This deal just got better because it now comes with a free complimentary drink, we opted for an apple and orange juice.
We went for a non spicy and a mildly spicy soup base. The spicy soup base is Sichuan style. There's a selection of sauces to choose from. We got the satay, sesame oil & garlic and Chinese chives & sesame paste sauces. We also got a raw egg each to make our special dipping sauce. You mark what you want on a list then they bring out the food for you. The list of things you can get is extensive to say the least. To give you an idea we got spicy beef and chicken cold dishes, handmade noodles, shiitake and enoki mushrooms, Chinese cabbage, prawn and prawn balls, lamb and beef slices, etc. Yes we eat a lot! Rest assured that no food was wasted though, we did finish it.
The selection of foods were all fresh and went very well with the soup bases. The fish slices and mushrooms were particularly good as they soaked up the flavours from the soup. There is a lot of fat on the lamb slices so be careful to not order too much if you're conscious of that.
Service was surprisingly good! Nothing was too much trouble, and they were spot on with the order. The waiter and waitresses were very efficent and we managed to get their attention pretty quickly. Parking is also really easy, just park at The Glen carpark and walk over. Overall, great value and tasty hot pot. The huge selection of dishes would suit the fussiest of eaters!
The food was quite nice. Waiters forgot some of the food but that didn't really matter to us. It was quite busy on that night and if i remember there were only 2 to 3 waiters. The service was quite good as he explained to us how this Hot Pot works. He had lovely manners and asked us if we would like anything else. He was friendly and had a smile while he listened. I don't remember his name but I heard the boss calling him Erika.( not too sure) But overall had a good experience. Would come here again.
I don't mind this place. However waiters kept forgetting some of the food we ordered. Different selections, better hot pot place than some here in Melbourne. Good all you can eat place for the price.
Cold dishes a must!!. I have been eating at XJ since they were over near the train station. I must say this place is the best for Hot pot. Weather (Pun intended) it be a cold winters day or a balmy summer night, hot pot a XJ just hits the spot. I am a big fan of the chili beef and chili noodles, I have been secretly trying to replicate the spices used, but to no avail!!. Can't wait to go back!!

Not sure it is worth it, but glad we went. My husband and I are 'hot pot virgins' so based on reviews we went and tried this experience out last night. We have lived in SE Asia and regularly eat authentic Asian. The service was lovely and the food was nice, but unless you can eat mass amounts of food, I don't think we will return and pay $28.80pp for a hot pot buffet. It makes a very expensive Asian soup meal. I can go and eat a large bowl of broth, noodles, protein and veg at a Vietnamese, Malaysian or Chinese restaurant for under $10 and be very satisfied. I can not eat nearly $30 worth of broth and fillings. I did not find the broths or sauces anything amazing, just good. There were no instructions given to us about how to make it all work or how long to cook ingredients for, although the girl tried to understand my questions but didn't comprehend how I did not know what to do. I think she found us amusing. Anyway, glad we tried it but it is not an affordable night out compared to other local Asian options.

Best hot pot!. We were very lucky to have the lady boss serve us for our big table! it was a great atmosphere, especially enjoyed the private function rooms! The food was so delicious, and the soup is their own home broth made from hours of boiling and work- it definately pays off with the delicious and fresh taste! I will definately come back with my family as I know they will love it as much as i did!

Delicious!. Now ive been too a few hot pot places but this one is definitely my fav. Its surprising that even the service was better than most. The lovely lady that took our booking and took care of the group was excellent. Her little stories especially those about the hand made noodles made us feel like we were guests in her own home.
Service was no nonsense and quick. Food was excellent. The 2 broths that we ordered (mild and spicy) and the various meats, noodles and various other items were very good. The price at the end was also very decent for the amount of food we had.

Hidden Gem. Nicer, cleaner, easier, friendlier than Boxhill. Hidden gem for a hotpot. Added bonus - on weekends, they don't kick you out at 3pm at the end of lunch, you can linger and they don't mind a bit. Winner written all over it! You can either order the banquet which has a extensive set list of items or order by the plate. It's right outside the Glen Waverly train station so super easy to get to. Take the train, don't bother trying to find a car park in the madness and then head home without worries after a few byo drinkies.
Great winter meal. Had a delicious and very filling meal at Hot Pot House last weekend. We chose the "Buffet option" for $27 per head, which we thought was good value. We had 10 plates of hotpot ingredients, plus rice and one side dish and were deliciously stuffed. Our favourite ingredients were the hand-made noodles (made right at our table!) and the wontons. The broth was also really good, we had double flavour and my husband who normally turns up his nose at 'non-spicy' options commented how flavoursome the non-spicy broth was. Mmm... we are definitely going back. Bonus, the staff were lovely.

I have been to Xiang Ju Hot Pot House many times and it remains one of my personal favouites. HPH provides a variety of traditional and delicious Sze chuan cuisine and dishes. However, my personal favourite us HotPot! The tasty nonspicy soup is spiced to perfection and tastes absolutely delicious!! Theres a range of dishes you can order like thin sliced beef, lamb, seafood, vegies, noodles and tofu. I come here every week with my family and the service and atmosphere always delight me. The bosses are sweet and kind, always willing to help and recommend. I truly recommend this place- it is something for everyone! OMG IM HUNGRY NOW JUST THINKING ABOUT IT
