Oh, what nostalgia as I bit into their delicious coconut appams. Taste of aunty’s home cooked food. Loved their Lamprais as well. Will return to try other dishes next time.

The food was alright but the overall experience was terrible. There was a shortage of staff with only one person in charge of the front counter, cleaning, serving food, deliveries etc. There was an awful scent where we were sitting which didn't change even after we moved away. The table next to us was left uncleaned since we had come in and lack of cleanliness could be clearly seen.

Used to love the food here, delicious and generous portions. But in recent visits, prices have been increasing while menu selections and portion sizes have shrunk. A pity.

$17 is way too expensive, "Upali's" pricing for not so upmarket place, absolute max should be $ 12 - $ 14... MKS is more reasonable and same or even better quality...NOT AGAIN !!

Ordered this seafood koththu last night and i was suprised for it’s taste and quality . As you can see it looks tasty too. Highly recommended this Srilankan Cuisine.

Ordered chicken fried rice through uber. It took 45mins to arrive and the food is too dry and the chicken it’s like a dried chicken. Don’t go for this unless you are ready to waste your food. Seems like a stale food, they just microwave it and gave to uber.

Best Sri Lankan food restaurant in Melbourne. Price is so cheap and the quantity is massive. Good good

Tried the curry and rice packs there (chicken curry with eggplants and potatoes as sides) and it gave both my husband and I food poisoning the next day. The food was very spicy but lacked other flavours. My husband is Sri Lankan and I have eaten Sri Lankan food for years and this was NOT well made Sri Lankan food. Will not be going again and recommend others to avoid!

Just had $7 special takeaway lunch from this shop. Dee-lee-shus! Generous serving too. Had curry lamb, brinjal & cabbage. Vendor gave a small dollop of tuna too. Son had curry chicken in place of lamb.
Loved it, this will be our go to place from now on when we want cheap simple South Asian spicy food.

Now we know where to get our fix when we want spicy curry food. :)

Friendly service! Hoppers need a bit more dough to it, it’s too crispy all over. Nice chinese broccoli with the coconut shaving.

Lalalalalala

Popped in here for lunch. I was greeted by a fairly straight faced lady, on the verge of being rude. Most the menu displayed was unavailable and I was told the only option was to have the rice with a choice of cabinet displayed curries. I was served a HUGE serving of rice with my chicken, mango and spinach dishes.

Both the spinach and chicken were average at best. The mango curry was well done and a unique option at that. The whole meal only cost $10 making this a great cheap everyday takeaway. Unlikely I will return here for the food though.

This is a srilankan spot with typical restaurant food such as lamprais, biriyani, Kottu and short eats. This is more of a take out spot if you want that nostalgic feeling. It's not as great you'd like, the rice and curry was available with 3 curries which were medicine. Got myself a woodapple drink which was good though with a ton of sugar in it.
Definitely not a take out spot, but good to try it out once in a while.

As Kotthu Roti lover, I entertained Spicy Flames. The veggie kotthu roti had more cashews than the roti. Extremely liberal with chilli flakes for a 'medium spicy' request - as if it were a dare. Possibly good with other menu options but I was unimpressed and very disappointed that the dish served felt like an experimental effort in the kitchen. Far from even being average. Giving it a 2 because I was served with a smile.

Authentic spicy Sri Lankan food. Generous, reasonably-priced serves. Can dine in but more of a take-away place due to small dining space. Friendly staff.
