Review Indian Spice Authentic Cuisine - Glenelg

The food was delicious and the portions generous. Service was very fast. Great menu selection, including around a dozen vegetarian options. You can choose mild, medium or hot for spice. Staff were knowledgeable and polite. The restaurant is pleasant and there is outside dining. Good value for money. Great location near the beach and the Stamford Grand Hotel.

Food was really good. We had Volcanic hot Chicken Vindaloo and hot lamb madras. If you like hot spicy food, this had the perfect amount of heat. Your lips and tongue get that tingle. Garlic, cheese and chilli Naan was FRICKIN awesome. Didn't wait long for meals, service was quick and friendly.

Based on taste alone, the food was quite good. It allowed us to gain access to a range of curry selections. The flavours tasted good - a 7/10 for most curries. The garlic naan was good - 8/10. The dessert was alright. Overall not a bad place and in a very convenient location in Mosely Square.

Best Indian I've had in a long time and reasonably priced. Good amounts of meat and not too much sauce as I've found with others I generally avoid lamb at Indian restaurants as it's generally not been the best quality, however no issues here. Definitely recommend and will go again

The service was really good and the food was served hot. We ordered for shahi paneer & chicken tikka masala along with garlic naan. The food was delicious and reminided me of traditional indian cooking. Would surely recommend to visit this place.

This was our first visit to this famed Indian joint. Loved the non-veg platter served sizzling on a hot plate! The mains of goat curry and balti chicken were equally impressive to go with rice and garlic naan. Topped it with a splendid mango kulfi! Amazing location makes it a perfect place for a weekend get together with family and friends.

I went to this place last night and had a terrible experience. Very disgusting, unhygienic food, environment and services. I ordered butter chicken, which was poorly cooked, soggy, found hair in Dal Makhani, and had burnt naans. They just replaced the plates when I complained instead of apologizing. And when I refused to eat food and asked for an explanation, the owner became rude and loud with us and start shouting that he didn't mind the reviews. We have spent about $ 200 for 4, not worthy and was too disappointed with Owner/Manager behaviour and felt like they are playing with customers health. Just wanted to say, this place is very unsanitary. I saw many spider webs and spiders on the wall as well. It was my first and last visit to this place, never recommended..

So my first experience with this restaraunt was new years eve. We arrive just after 8pm after booking on line. Firstly there was a bit of confusion re my booking. We were taken to a table upstairs that was not set. Once seated the waitress left us without menus. There were probably about 30 people including us dinning at the time. We waited until one of 3 staff waiting tables came past and we had to ask for a menu. Once we had it we saw that it was a set menu with one chicken dish, one lamb dish, one beef dish, and a few vegitarian dishes for mains. My hubby doesn't eat chicken or lamb and doesn't like his indian too spicy which the beef dish was. He asked if he could have beef korma instead of lamb which the lamb dish was. The waiter asked the chef but he was told there was no beef korma this night. I said we would have to leave as there was nothing on the menu that my hubby could eat but was told if he ordered the beef vindaloo that they could make it a medium spice so he did. We ordered drinks at the same time as placing our meal order. We waited for 25 minutes before our drinks arrived. 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive and 1.5 hours for our mains and naan bread to arrive. Our naan bread and mains were delivered without our rice. We waited another 5 min for our rice. While waiting my hubby tasted his beef vindaloo and it was far from medium. My dahl was perfect though. When the waiter finally came with the rice my hubby informed him that his meal was not medium but full blown spicy. The waiter argued with him over this until my hubby picked it up..handed it to him and told him to take it away. The waiter then asked him if he wanted to order something else... we had already discussed with him the reason why my hubby asked for beef korma so what else could he have ordered! The waiter left and came back later asking my hubby if he would like some beef korma! Seriously isn't this what he asked for in the beggining and was refused! He ended up with beef korma which he said was good but by this time I had finished my meal so we didn't even eat together. The waiter was actually running through the restaraunt past our table on a number of occasions. It was not the busiest restaraunt we have been to and I certainly have never seen a waiter running whilst serving tables. All in all the food that we did consume was very nice. The waiting staff needed to be a bit more organised and a little more professional. I would not recommend anyone dine there on a busy night as I feel they are not equipped to deal with a high number of people. If they can't cope with 30 I would hate to see them cope with more.

Lovely food and the staff were nice enough. They're byo which is good but the corkage is $5 per person per bottle. I think this is expensive. We couldn't see this advertised anywhere and it wasn't mentioned when we sat down. When I tried to discuss this with the waiter he just kept saying this is our corkage charge. Also, they switched the lights off upstairs while we were still there which made going to the loo quite tricky.

Went here for my birthday, and let me tell you some of the BEST Indian food I've ever had. The service was divine, and then the food was even better. I've eaten at some of the best curry houses in Europe and I can say this place has them beat. Well done x

The best Indian food I have ever had. Beautifully presented, full of flavour, fantastic service and tastefully decorated restaurant. And the prices were no more than any other Indian restaurant around Adelaide. It really is a step up. Can definitely recommend Indian Spice. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Excellent service. Some of the best Indian food I've had and the most friendly staff. Great atmosphere and a bonus to be in Glenelg. This looks like our new go to place for Indian food.

Have been here three times now and every single time the food was absolutely amazing! Incredible flavours, just delicious, and the service is equally as impressive. Staff always super polite and attentive, nothing is too much trouble. They even accommodated us requesting to change an entree in the set banquet so we could try something new . Definitely our favourite restaurant. Will be coming again!

Went to Indian Spice yesterday for lunch. By far the best butter chicken I've ever had! The service was very friendly and the restaurant itself was very elegant! I was going to go to Nandos next door but the aroma coming from Ibdian Spice was just too hard to resist!
