Review Orange Spot Bakery - Glenelg

Read about the award winning pasties made here and just had to give them a try. Absolutely delicious!!!! Hands down best pastie I have ever eaten and I’ve had a fair few. Very reasonably priced and great service topped off the experience. I’m only in Adelaide for a few days but I will be back for one more pastie before I go.

Having been to Orange Spot a few times, we keep coming back. Their vanilla slice is firm, tasty, and big enough for two to enjoy a nice peace each! The pies are genuine pies, amd pastys are great, good size and mix of vegetables. Reasonable on street parking, friendly staff, steady service speed, good coffee - I'll need to ponder that more - and good value. Definitely become a regular

Ok, so I am currently in Adelaide/Glenelg from Melbourne. Yesterday I felt like something sweet & ventured out for a walk but wanted something away from Jetty Rd. So I arrived at this big orange shop & went in. I wanted to buy one of everything but chose a canolli & vanilla slice. As I was going back to my hotel room, I ended up in the lift with another guest. Asked if I got a pasty from orange's I said no just sweets. He told me to get a pasty, so here I am back in my room with a pasty & sausage roll. Yuuuuuuuuuum!!! I could eat this every day. Sadly leaving tomorrow but definitely coming back to this wonderful bakery. Past flakey pastry & amazing taste. Hands down best I've had of both.

Food was really good here, I had a chunky steak pie and it was wicked, flavour was awesome and the pastry was soft. My girlfriend had the Chunky Steak and Onion and loved it as well. My sister had a chunky steak and mushroom and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Only negative is the pasty, got so hyped seeing it was the #1 but I really don't think it was anything special.

MOST of the staff were super lovely, except one (and its this one staff member that motivates this feedback). This staff member (slightly older lady) was just plain mean to other staff members. She slammed cupboards in anger, reprimanded staff loud enough for everyone in the room to hear, It never ended and it was super uncomfortable to witness. All other staff members were professional and a delight to deal with by comparison. I hope the owner reads this if only to highlight the need to protect staff from this overt workplace bullying. A kind, safe and respectful work culture goes a long way if you want loyal, happy staff. PS the yellow post-it note system for taking orders seemed to slow things down and aggravate the above staff member (who constantly had issues reading them). You can order proper Order Form pads for cafes at a small cost (win win). I’ll be back for the pies, but I just hope your poor staff are better treated on our next visit!

Forget jetty road!!! Short walk to No1 bakery in Adelaide ! Pasty & vanilla slice to die for plus awesome staff !!

Cornish pasties are the best I have ever had. Pastry was perfect and the chunky vegetable filling was amazing. Next time I travel to Adelaide I will certainly make my way to Glenelg and this Bakery again. 😊

In the mid 70s I lived in Gordon St Glenelg x just around the corner was a fab family owned bakery . I was there almost every day either for the best pies I've ever tasted or a yummy award winning pasty or an OMG cake . Today that bakery is still there still the same family owned . Still best pies pasties and cakes in SA and still winning Australia wide awards. Now recently refurbished but same great service . And the best biggest pots of tea x When your in the mood for baked goods and hey it's getting colder so who isn't . It's worth a trip to the end of Anzac highway to Orange Spot Bakery . You'll be glad you went . V

Always on the list of must visit food places in Adelaide. Sunday was no exception. Coffee outstanding. Baked goods yummo. Courteous and efficient staff. Nothing is a problem. Make the effort and check it out. So many choices of pasties and sausage rolls.

Your dirty chai is fantastic. I have just changed my favourite venue to buy this. Your iced finger buns are the best I have tasted anywhere- I don't know what you do with the glazing on the top but it is out of this world. Also, your green curry chicken pies are unbeatable!!!

Absolute Gem! Food all looked fantastic! I was in total amazement with the list of achievements and awards on the many shelves and walls!!! Being a baker myself, was super inspiring!

Ive been eating at the Orange spot for the majority of my life. Love the food. You have had a refurbish recently to get more customers but have done nothing about how the actual customer gets served in the shop. At the moment its disjointed, un-flowing, leaving staff and customer bewildered and angry as no-one knows who is next in line. Surely an assessment in the way the shop works for the customer is in order. Ive seen smaller shops fronts work their customers with better effect. You've had price increases lately on already overpriced items, maybe spend a little for your staff and the way the customers get served and youll make more money and not have the walk off's and angry customers you are currently getting....nothing worse than good food being ruined by lazy retailers, step it up.

They make the best Pasties in Australia...and they have the trophies to prove it... When ever I ask the grandkids, where to for lunch, it's always the same response Orange Spot Bakery...Expanding to include seating, is great...now I can sit and enjoy my coffee...and if your a first timer, don't be put off if you see a line up out the door, they always have a lot of staff on and believe me it's worth the wait...:)

Clearly the best bakery in town. The queue has been out the door for the last 30 mins and not looking like getting smaller any time soon The best pie ever ..

Every time we bring guests from overseas to this bakery, they all liked the food. Their pasty never disappoint us.

The Orange Spot Bakery is a great place to get either take away or to eat in. The pies & pasties are award winning. I went with a friend and 3 small children. We had a coffee and cake and the children had baby Chino's. It has a lovely old world feel about the dine in section. You can also sit outside. Getting take away and walking just a short distance to the park or the beach is something I enjoy doing especially in summer.

Awesome place for breakfast! Food is delicious and the service is top notch!

i forgot to order cheese on my bacon n egg roll... i thought that was standard... haha! nah, lovely food.... coffee was perfect and those cornflake cookies did not last long!! it would've been nice to see the fireplace with fire... �

I went there this afternoon and got incredibly grumpy sales girl. I asked for a pie "we don't have it" (grumpy, hurry up, voice) ordered another, she went to put in a bag, "have here" I said... She threw down the paper bag and stomped off. Yes you were busy but that isn't an excuse... Eating out is about the ambience! If we just wanted food we'd eat at home. Did not enjoy it, will not be back!

Over the years this has been a reliable location for good food ....great bakery food, parking is always difficult though on a Saturday.

In a two week trip this was the worst breakfast! Rubberised fried eggs, strange tasting bacon!! Very slow service, there were only two other people in the restaurant. Refund was given to my brother, the other three of us just walked out.
