Had dinner her and it was soo good we came back for brekky and werent dissapointed. I had the gourmet chicken pizza and it was amazing. Classic homemade italian food and service.
We had breakfast here and it was the best we found along the whole street, very delicious. We also got a pizza and pasta to share takeaway. Both times we were met with amazing customer service, our order on the phone was taken by Tayler. All the food was really delicious, would highly recommend.
We ordered several dishes such as the basics wedges and chips and couple of pizzas i would highly recommend tho to put like maybe fetta cheese to the campagna pizza but the Hawaii pizza is delicious

Loved Mammas from when I used to work at the grand hotel and would have dinner or breakfast here. Nothing has changed over the years same great food and service. Had everything from pizza to pasta. Some places take you for a ride down memory lane. Mammas does that every time π

Would easily be some of the best pasta dishes we have had in our travels, the garlic cheesy pizza as a starter was also to die for.
Would be exceptional with table service rather than the order at the counter method.
Coffee is good (monjava coffee )and the staff is friendly ...although it was just a quick coffee stop it looks like a very vibrant restaurant in busy jetty Rd Glenelg. Ample room inside and out and a right on the beach.
Had a late New Years dinner here last night and the place was absolutely packed. Food was great and waiter Jay was incredibly nice. Under the circumstances it would have been easy to drop the ball but they did a great job
I was starving but wanted something healthy. I saw they had a warm chicken salad so I thought I would give it a go. The lady who took my order was friendly. The salad and drink came really quickly and the serve was huge. The chicken was tender and delicious. For a pizza place they seem to send out a lot of salad. Will definitely come back to try a pizza.
Pretty good service during a crowded breakfast time, and the waitress was obliging and helpful in setting up our table. The poached eggs with hollandaise sauce was tasty, as were the sausages served on the country breakfast. However the bacon on the bacon breakfast was cold and stingy portion. Overall a nice atmosphere complimented with good service.
We had planned an afternoon at Glenelg to catch up with some friends who were in town and staying at Glenelg. Thought we might walk along Jetty Road to find a place for dinner but the weather was terrible so we went into straight to a place they had been to and enjoyed, Mamma Carmela's.
We enjoyed a few drinks before my children arrived to join us for dinner.
We decided to order three pizzas to share. My American friends ordered an American pizza, tomato, cheese and salami, it was a very good pizza. My son followed the theme and ordered a deluxe Aussie pizza, sounded terrible and was a little sloppy but was surprisingly good. Myself I like to order the house special as it should be the best they have to offer and it was a fine pizza but could have done with more anchovies (I do love anchovies).
The staff were very nice and the service was fast.
Happy to recommend for a quick inexpensive meal but note even on a night with terrible weather it was almost full so it would be best to book.
Ordered take away Spaghetti Marinara and Spaghetti Cabonara both fantastic and plenty of seafood good feed
We had a table of 7 with no reservation on a busy night. No problems. All meals were nice. Fast service. Will return :)
Recommend Gourmet Chicken Pizza. This place was recommended by a local friend during a short trip to SA. Ordered 3 pizzas, all of which turned out great, especially the Gourmet Chicken pizza. All the food they brought out looked amazing. Wish could go back to Glenelg soon and try other dishes on their menu.
Took the family for breakfast. Very polite staff and the service was excellent. I had the vegetarian omelette which was do delicious. Coffee was great and the babycino's were a hit with my sons as it came with marshmallows. Would go again and the menu is enormous!!

Awesome and authentic. I used to own a pizza bar in SA, I now live interstate and every time I come back to Adelaide I always ensure that I eat here. They make one of the best pizza's with the best service every time. To all those complainers: if you are not happy with what you get speak to the boss - he will fix it. Remember when everybody wants the best they go to Mama's and when the ques are out the door they really try their best. good on you guys and keep up the good work.
You can always be surprised... Mamma Carmela's has been a Glenelg institution for over four decades so the real question is what kind of food are they producing now....? Answer: Pretty darn good! Having eaten there on Saturday I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of pizza and pasta my family was served. The Mamma"s special pizza ticked all the boxes of what a good traditional pizza should have, fresh toppings, a nice crispy base, and the pasta was properly cooked and seasoned. These are the fundamentals that even the highly rated Italian eateries around Adelaide often miss. The prices are mid-range at MC"S and many pizza bars charge more. The one fly in the punch is the coffee which seems haphazardly brewed and has no character....Fix this, Mamma and there will be no need for diners to go to the dozen other cafes at the Bay.
Chicken was well cooked, the vegetables complimented the chicken and to the top it off; the melted cheese /drool
Stopped off for a quick breakfast. Place is reasonable. Good location for people watching and sea air. Prices are probably reasonable for the location. Was mildly entertaining as we sat near a woman and her mother having coffee. The woman spent 30 minutes complaining about the world to her mother. Her mother endured it like a trooper with smiles and nods. I hope she enjoyed her coffee. :)
Super impressed with this place. Have been staying at Glenelg and tried a few places. In general most were poor or average.
From the moment i enquired about grabbing a table for some breakfast, to when i finished i was impressed.
The team were friendly and fast. Food arrived quickly, cooked and presented well.
Coffee was also spot on.
Guys i could ramble on about this place, but I'm not going to. I did something i very rarely do, i asked if i could see the manager and i personally passed on my praise for their team, establishment and food.
I even went back for dinner the same night and they ticked all the boxes again ππ.
With so many places to eat at the bay its hard choose.
But I'm telling you guys give this place a go, guaranteed you wont regret it.
