Review Pera Kahve - Glenelg

My favourite breakfast spot in Glenelg. Some reviewers say it's a bit shabby but the food and the coffee (which they roast themselves) more than makes up for it. They've always got some cool tunes and a great vibe overall. I come here whenever I can.

Trendy place in Glenelg - lots of seating but quite noisy. Pleasant staff and good iced coffee although it would have been helpful to have some suggestions rather being told 'there's the menu'. Will go another time to try the Turkish food and coffee.

The food is great! The breakfast salad was amazing. The atmosphere and decor is very comfortable. The coffee blend when I was there was 'India'; I'm not a huge fan. The coffee also took a long time to come out.

Toys place is really cool. Entree the for breakfast and there was a huge range of choices. Good was delicious, staff were really friendly and the Turkish coffee was probably the best Turkish coffee I have ever had. Will definately visit again.

Poor service, ?reused milk, coffee shot poured into dirty shot glass then to takeaway cup never seen an espresso coffee made so quickly and poor. Waited to be served for a short while , no apology, and not very friendly service. "There you go". ....Coffee tastes ok, considering, but overpriced. Shop layout and theme good.

After seeing the reviews, we thought we’d try it out. Walking in at around 9 on a weekday,it wasn’t busy. Staff saw we were there but not a single greeting and we thought it slightly unwelcoming. Although not a big deal to some, we’d prefer to feel welcome. Food was okay, large portions, nice flavours. But just from our disappointing experience, we wouldn’t go back.

Unimpressive. Service was dismal, food was alright but not worth the ratings. The decor is a bit confusing; are they going for Turkish, South America, or hipster? Menus very shabby and overall a very untidy place. Would not return.

Traditional with a twist is what you'll get at Pera Kahve, but sometimes you shouldn't mess with classics. The eggs with sujuk were overcooked and the eggplants in the shakshouka too salty. However, the rustic but vibrant decor created a nice ambience.

Really friendly people + Best coffee in Adelaide! I go here every morning for my coffee and it's always on point. The banana bread is pretty delicious too. Can't wait to try the food 😊

Amazing food, great serving size for price. The menu has pictures and you get exactly what the picture shows. Definitely coming back, would recommend!

I only just found this place a few weeks back and have already visited twice. I will be returning again this week. The food here is made beautifully with attention to detail. The first time I came I had the baked eggs which were full of flavor and just divine. The second time I came, I had the sweet potato fries in a wrap. I thought it sounded a bit different including the chips inside the wrap instead of serving them on the side and now I know why they do it that way. It was totally yummy and I couldn't fault it. Perfect combo of flavors! Being a flat white drinker, the Turkish coffee was a stretch for me but I'm so glad I tried it. It came with a little piece of Turkish delight on the side and it really was an enjoyable coffee for something a bit different. The only thing I'd say is that I wish it wasn't so small. On the down side this place doesn't include table service and was a little on the cold side without heating in the winter time. They could also make the smoothies out the back in the kitchen or get a quieter blender to make things a little nicer for the customers. All in all, great food and great coffee!

This place used to be pretty good when it first opened. Went back the other day & the coffee was below average & burnt. The girl at the counter was more interested in her phone than making coffees or serving customers. A lady who looked to be the owner didn't smile once the whole time while taking our order. Not sure what happened but very disappointed pera kahve.

A little hint of Istanbul off hustly and bustly Jetty Road, Glenelg. Dark and moody, fitted with the obligatory mish-mash of furniture, Pera Kahve is inspired by the coffee houses of Istanbul. Just the sort of place to sit down your weary freelance bones, have a coffee, and prepare for an afternoon of meetings.

No WiFi, but there are stacks of power points.

Two friends and I went there at around 11am and we arrived to a filthy table. Upon ordering we asked for the table to be cleared several times yet no one bothered to attend it it. We ordered at around 11:10am and waited until 12:30pm for our drinks to be bought out. Our drinks were a diet coke, iced latte and a flat white. The cafe was not overly busy and there were approximately three or four other small tables of diners. At this stage our table had still yet to be cleared and I was having to place used plates and cutlery onto another uncleared table. Yet multiple staff had walked by our and noticed the state. At around 12:45pm we still didn't have our meals and it was starting to become ridiculous. We asked and the only response was "your food is on it's way". After two hours of waiting we finally got our food which was average and arrived at separate times. Several other people were also having to follow up their meals. I will not return to this cafe and I think if you want a pleasant dining experience you should steer clear.

Quirky little cafe just off Jetty Road in Glenelg. This place has a good vibe. Plenty of seating inside and out. Good iced coffee and I would have ordered food if the staff had have been more helpful.
Summary: Coffee good. Service could be better. Easy to find and easy parking. Worth a try? Definitely - I will go again to try the Turkish coffee and the food which looked as though it would be good.

Great little spot in the bay, my favourite coffee haunt for sure.
Food is good and different , especially the Turkish options- but be prepared to wait as owner seems to run around a bit chaotically wearing many hats !
This cute little Turkish themed Cafe is an absolute gem!
The food is good - with lots of alternatives to your standard breakfasts - but what really makes this place shine - is the drinks! Between 3 people - we ordered 5 drinks - and couldn't get enough!
The mocha frappe - was the best chocolate/coffee concoction I've ever tasted! And the juice/red velvet lattes and matcha green tea frappe (although different - but still delicious) were all fantastic!
Even if the food isn't exactly what you want in a breaky/lunch date - the drinks are definitely worth the visit!
They also roast their coffee beans daily - just sayin ' 😍

Such a cool little spot off Jetty Road. This place has an awesome chilled and cosy fitout. Great Turkish dishes and service was friendly. We had the Cherry & Meatballs kebab which was simply awesome. The cherries were bitter and sweet and the Meatballs were delicious all swimming in a flavour packed sauce. We also had the meat & cheese golzeme as well as the spinach & feta golzeme, these were to die for. The flat bread was perfect and packed with filling. Extremely happy we tried this place for brunch. Can't wait to come back and try the coffee and cakes too. Definitely worth an eat, thumb up

Great coffee, great food, great location and interior, enjoyed it every time.Very cool music playing , love the recycled furniture , the chairs outside are not very comfortable so we always sit inside. The only negative I can point out is the owners (I think they are owners, they are always there,he makes coffee and takes orders and she does the rests) apparently having arguments every time we go there. Even though they are speaking different language you can tell they are quarreling. Not very nice.

I recommend you try this restaurant for some very good Turkish food. We had the mushroom gozleme and poached eggs. Both were very tasty, good sized serves. Service was friendly and quick. We also had Turkish coffee which was just like we had in Turkey and served with some yummy Turkish Delifght. The restaurant is in a side street so nice and quiet, it is relaxed and comfortable. We will be back for breakfast soon.
A cute little cafe in Glenelg, surprised it wasn't busier. We ordered eggs bene, an eggplant, mushroom & cheese gozleme, Turkish coffees & a matcha latte. All very tasty, and well prepared. Friendly staff brought us extra Turkish delight for our friend who wasn't having coffee (comes with coffee). Will be back for breakfast again!

PLEASANT TURKISH CAFE. We have been here a few times. The ambiance has a lovely, sophisticated Istanbul feel. The coffee is good and so are the few Turkish dishes on the menu. It's nice to see other Turkish drinks like sahlep and ihlamur on the menu too. The service isn't fast but it's a nice place to eat and drink. We would definitely choose this place to experience Turkishness over any other random yiros/kebab place trying to pass off as a Turkish eatery in Adelaide.

...HOLLANDAISE .... Had breakfast there yesterday morning . Had a latte, a fresh juice and an egg benedict.
Coffee was really good , juice was a bit blend but Freshly made .
But the egg benedict was terrible , cheap bacon, eggs overcooked and Mayonnaise served instead of Hollandaise ( still can't believe it ) . The chef is obviously Not a chef .

DINER FROM ADElAIDE. The owners ruin this cafe. They give off a vibe that says I can't stand being here.. They are slow, passive aggressive and despite displaying the opposite, they can speak good English. The coffee can be good depending on your taste as the beans are changed often but don't expect to get your coffee inside of 10 minutes, even for a takeaway. Reputation is everything with a cafe but these guys don't seem to want to succeed like they're just riding out the lease.

Very inauthentic +horrible Customer Service. Average food, in fact below average!
We ordered Gozleme, was so disappointed. The gozlemes filling were tasteless and the pastry was the pastry was similar to the cheap pastry which you can get from woolies or Coles!! A world of differences between those Gozlemes and the one that I tried in Melbourne and Istanbul.

We waited for over an hour to get our orders, and when we finally got the order, it was the wrong one!

The Coffee wasn't too bad though!

Horrible customer Service, I don't think I will go back

Pera. My fave cafe in glenelg. Love their roastery

One hour wait while only 10 people here, no acknowledgement, no extra coffee offered, forgot one out of two meals, forgot cutlery, go back to cafe school

Pera Kahve is open for breakfast and lunch and offers a unique selection of Turkish dishes, as well as some items that are more mainstream. They also have focaccias, rolls and cakes if your palette isn’t feeling too adventurous.
