Review Sunset Bar - Glenelg

After a nice walk around Glenelg, I stopped for a drink in the Marina Sunset Bar. It’s located at the end of Marina Pier, so the view is a show by itself. They offer many cocktail based on Barossa Distilled gin at very reasonable prices ($12). The staff member was friendly and patient to provide information about the different options and gave some recommendations as well. There’s a comfortable spot for smokers outside and next to the harbor. I came here during day hours, but people say that it gets very busy at night. I took many pictures for all of you to illustrate my experience. I had the miss maple and tonic, delicious!!!! . PS: the main entrance is at Marina Pier, but when you walk through the bar, you’ll find in the other side a small terrace facing the beach, stunning!

My absolute favourite place to have a drink! Whether you’re facing the beach or the marina, the view is spectacular. There is a vast selection of drinks and food servings are generous. The music is always spot on. The staff are all super friendly, especially Dylan and Loz!

Great for a drink away from the crowd during the day. Service was quick. Food looked good but didn't eat any. Prices reasonable $3 for small coke 💕

Where do I start. The service was average. The bar staff advised the pool table was out of service after I asked twice about exchanging coins and trying to use the pool table. The food was very average. Edible, but for $20 I'd expect a pizza with flavour, rather than the defrosted and microwaved pizza we received. Very disappointed from a place that I thought had a decent standard. The sun has set on my experience here.

Quiet disappointed. Made a booking online for 4 with no conformation for a month, only evidence being an email showing I attempted to make the booking. Called several times the day prior and day of booking to confirm but the phone wasn’t picked up. We arrived to the venue to find nothing was reserved for us. Absolute waste of time! No apology for the inconvenience either, I don’t know why it’s that hard to confirm you had no places available or whatever

I must say I the look of this place is very pleasing but as soon as I stepped through the door it all changed, wasn't greeted at all and I would just like to point out that I have no problem wearing a mask to order a drink but when the bar tender rudely tells me to put one on when there own staff isn't wearing one i find its a bit hypocritical, mind you every young lady that went up to order a drink apparently didn't have to wear one either, really disappointed with the lack of hospitality and fairness among patrons this place could be a lot better with some better management.

Very average, not much on the menu and couldn't even make what I wanted (beef burger) then the only thing left I wanted was fish and chips they were below average, $117 for a few beers and lunch was a rip off

Love this place. Whenever I bring horses to race at Morphetville I always come here to watch the sun set. Lovely friendly bar staff and great sunsets. Can’t beat it! �

Had a great evening. We ordered a burger which was really nice. The bar staff were all very friendly. At one stage a young lady was on her own and seemed to be being hassled by a patron, the female bar person came over and had a chat with the man and the girl. I was very impressed with how this was handled and how the staff kept an eye on her until her friend appeared. Well done!! The sangria wasn't bad either.� I agree with another comment about the security door man, he is very friendly, polite, a real gentleman, who said chivalry is dead. Not here.

Great for a quick drink and bite before the NYE fireworks. All the staff were attentive and polite. Loved my cocktail and pizza was delicious

We just love our local watering hole. Nice to watch the sunset or after dark the Marina. Friendly staff. And proper measure of glass wine.. Molly Dooker, two left feet is our favourite red to drink. As well as cocktails.

The door guy Kieran is amazing! Not only was he being a gentleman and opening the door for EVERYONE he cleans up outside when he’s not even meant to! He is a huge asset to your company, don’t let him go!

Held my sons 21st celebrations here and am stoked to say that it was just a fantastic Venue.... Sensational staff... Food was delicious... Views are hard to beat! DJ & Tunes kept the crowd dancing. Huge thanks to DYLAN and YOSHI for making every effort to make our event memorable and successful.. We had a blast not one complaint all our guests loved it! We absolutely will be back! (especially since you know how to make a pina colada and ohhhhhhh the fish bowls... Yum!!)

The only reason we come back these days is just for Luke's incredible service and drinks. He is always creating new drinks and shots and involving the customers with his inspiration!

I am sitting in this filth of a bar and have watched a patron (obviously knows the bar man or works here but day off) and helped herself to the ice cream that they make cocktails with. She grabbed a spoon and double tipped countless times in the ice cream whilst coughing up a lung. When she was finished the bar man took the tub of ice cream and put it in the freezer before giving the girl a free cocktail. Behind them the other worker was poking and prodding the frozen pizza bases deciding which one to use and put the other handled bas a back in the bag Won't be finishing my drink here... tacky and dirty

We went there today and we have ordered Sangria for two. They said they don’t have it at the moment. This is a weird explanation since all they need is red wine, brandy and some fruits. Then we have asked for Pimm’s. They gave us a jug of Pimm’s with only a few slices of dried oranges as fruits in it. I was complaining about it to my husband. After a while in another table we have seen a real jug of Pimm’s with mint leaves, strawberries, orange and lemon slices. We asked the bar tender why we couldn’t get a proper Pimm’s. His answer was “I can refund it.” We told him “We want a proper jug of Pimm’s, We don’t want a refund.”. At the end we had our drinks as it should be, but we had to make an effort while we were planning to relax and enjoy our drinks.

Just wanted to grab the sunset and a cocktail. Too crowded and loud! Staff too busy to clear tables, it's a weekend and its busy probably the best time for staff to be more pro active, nevertheless I will give a slow clap to the bar tender ,for making a classic lit,absolutely unique and delish! Happy I ordered that! PS: The spill behind the glass belong to someone else seated before us!

Location is lovely, was great to see the sunset yet that didn't cut it. Cocktails were weak and over priced. Pizza small for the price you pay and way too much cheese.

Beyond disappointed. I had tried to reserve an area for a few hours this February 2017 back in October 2016 for a hens celebration. I was told both sections were available. <br/><br/>They didn't respond to my last email in October but as it was approaching the Christmas season I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Imagine my surprise when I confirm with them regarding our reservation that the place is now "completely booked" & they could not give me an explanation as to why my previous email in October was not responded too. <br/><br/>You guys have considerably messed up our plans, especially as the hen had specified she wanted to go there. It comes as no surprised really that you didn't respond to my last email on the 10th January.......

Sangria and sunset the bomb

Illusions. The large picture of the sangria - with beautiful sunset colours - is not what is served......what is served is something pre made by a barman who's attitude was one that he wanted to be elsewhere. They also need to take off the menu or at least change the name - the spinich and ricotta burger . Call it a processed veggie pattie - carrot, peas and corn - no spinich or ricotta in sight. We won't be back.

We had lunch here last Friday and the food was awesome! The staff were very friendly, food was quick, good value and great tasting. Highly recommend the "Sunset Bar".

Cool Pub with Beach Views. Friday and Saturday nights are always a good time at Sunset bar, and with its outdoor eating areas it set up well for the warm days. They also have the occasional Scoopon offer which are good value.

It was a nice sunny Sunday and I wanted a lazy afternoon. What better way to enjoy it than drinking with friends at the Sunset Bar.
