What a beautiful meal. Service was fantastic. I even treated myself to a Margarita after Greta suggesting it. It was a young crowd, with young music but I really liked the energy.

Came here for drinks and snacks but next time will come for a meal. Very young, vibrant venue that’s really buzzing. Bet the food is good! The drinks were!

I’m a tough taco critic, but these were pretty good. Very fun vibe, great indoor outdoor space with multiple patios. $10 margs on Sunday is hard to pass up. The elotes were tasty and they have proper corn tortillas! Portions could be a bit larger for money value.

I came here for my birthday dinner, lovely welcoming staff and it was very busy. We ordered the banquet- the waitress ended up giving 2 of our dishes to another group in error and when we addressed it we were met with the manager very quickly coming to us to apologise and sort the situation and we were very well looked after. because of this we all will return. The food was incredible- thank you so much xx

I’m not happy with my experience, sadly I don’t like to give bad reviews but the experience today was not good. We were here for a special occasion and we expected good food but left feeling hungry and disappointed, the service wasn’t good some of the staff was friendly but some not. We got the chef banquets expecting good food and yeah was tasty but for a big party I don’t recommend it at all I do recommend to go to another place if you want a banquet. Sad and really disappointed was this experience in this place. I hope they review their menu quantities and plan better. Slow and poor I’m really upset to pay $44 dollars for an average and small portions (1 taco of fish, one prawn with burn rice, average salad, 1 corn,a steak taco just 2 pieces of steak for taco, one churro) waiting for 2 hours. Not good!!

A flavour sensation in a fabulous laid back loft in Nobby’s which has a unmistakable Mexican vibe. It’s a place to meet up with friends for a quiet one or a big one, and with a tasty menu & drink specials that include $10 Margs, I recommend that everyone gives it a shot at least once this year. Yum, yum.

Jamie is the best waiter I have ever had the pleasure of serving me, top tier alcohol at a top tier restaurant. Sick joint, definitely would recommend!!! Thus, I contest that Mexicali may be the best joint on the Gold Coast. I rest my case. Ask for Jamie and you shall see.

$45 for 90 minutes of bottomless margaritas? It doesn't get much better than that! I was worried at this price, the margaritas would just taste like lime and sugar syrup, but I can confirm these drinks were delicious and strong! We also did the mexicali banquet for $34.00 per person and the quantity/quality of food was so impressive! I am also pescatarian and they brought out dietary substitutes for all menu items with meat in it. Overall super happy with the experience and definitely recommend as a fun night with friends.

Very disappointing experience! What was suppose to be a celebration for my partners birthday this was very quickly ruined by the rude and pushy staff who felt they needed to continue to remind us multiple times to be finished by 8pm, but yet to have our orders taken. When then rudely asked to order our meals there were no menu's in sight. I had asked for a menu to choose items for the banquet, the waiter was rude and abrupt. Cocktails were great but food quantity in particular plates were poor when sharing between 5 people. Staff continuously approached our table which made it very tense and unpleasant. Later, whilst still eating at quarter to 8 my partner asked for one last drink and was refused by the waiter as there was apparently not enough time to have one last drink. Not to mention the cake purposely purchased to have after our dinner with friends didn't happen due to the terrible energy from staff and management. Overall this experience was very disappointing I had hoped for a relaxing evening spent celebrating my partners birthday with our friends. Unfortunately I will not be returning nor will I be recommending to friends.

Unfortunately the experience was unpleasant. Why do the staff insist you sit on uncomfortable chairs when the place is empty :( this happened twice then the staff sit down in full view of the restaurant. The tacos are ridiculous overpriced no coffee. Not feeling MexiCali. It’s a shame.

My friends and I ordered 3 banquets for a group of 5 and they brought out 1 basket of chips and guacamole. When we asked why we only got 1 when we were paying for 3 banquets, the waitress argued with us that "that is the 3 guacamole and chips" she then walked away and ignored us for the rest of the night. We managed to ask another waiter passing by who said "you get 1 between 2 and that we only had 5 people" which doesn't make sense as we were paying for 3. After nagging him for a bit, he reluctantly brought us another basket. It seems you guys don't even read your reviews, as theirs bad reviews from months ago about the same things I'm complaining about and nothings changed. It's a shame, as Mexicali is such a cool spot.

Seriously, read your reviews Mexicali. What's with the staff being annoyed when we call them to place an order? Girls, smile a bit more, don't get angry or roll your eyes. Please! The place, the food, the drinks: awesome! Staff: relax! Have fun!

We had a 50/50 expirence some of our dishes were amazing highly recommend the chicken tacos and the poppers with goats cheese. Although staff were friendly we could not get anyone to come to our table after we were seated even when waving them down. Music is super load so if your on a date I don't suggest this venue BUT perfect for Sunday drinks �

Has a great experience.Yummy food & great service. Such good vibes! sat outside. Taco Tuesday is great & the Nutella tacos are to die for! Highly recommend this place & I will defiantly be back!

Went here on Sunday lunch no booking but only 2 of us, were seated and menus and water arrived promptly by a lovely Brazilian waitress. Margaritas were delis and food was great. Even purchased a couple of bottles of there homemade hot sauce. Yes, I will be back on my next visit to the Goldie.

Service was absolutely terrible, the girl that sat us was rude, we waited 20 minutes before someone took our order, then we waited 45 minutes for our food to come out. One of my friends has an allergy to tomatoes and told the server but when her food came out we were told the beef was slow cooked in tomatoes... the server then asked her "are you like really allergic?" Hoping he wouldn't have to remake them. Over all terrible experience, and all the staff were rude

Terrible service. Waited 30 minutes for water, had to then go to the bar twice to ask for it. They brought out water & no glasses so once again had to go to the bar to ask for glasses. I ordered a $20 salad which they told me they had no roasted pumpkin for, so I said fine just add extra salad to bulk it out. After over an hour I was presented with a handful of baby spinach, 2 cherry tomatoes cut in half & a few pieces of chicken which were burnt. Wait for drinks was about 20-30 minutes. Overpriced, useless staff & average food. Really unimpressed.

Lovely staff it terribly slow service...our food order was all mixed up and didn't arrive...we had to ask, found out it had been given to someone else...our drinks took ages to get to us....probably wouldn't go back....or recommend it....

Fabulous came up with my son and a few of his mates for his 13th birthday turned up with no booking on a busy Saturday night was promptly seated packed up with margaritas and mocktails great service, great food, great atmosphere, a litte squashy but totally worth it Thanks guys

The food is average. Not one little bit of coriander in my pico de gallo!? Service was meh. I won't be returning. Cute little spot though!

The Quesadillas were so good! Very tasty and loved the chese! Perfect temperate, taste and crisp with every bite �

We went on Friday night for my friend's birthday. We had an awesome waiter, great food and delicious margaritas. It was a great night!
