Review Trio Romano - Gold Coast

Alexandria Yotter
Edit: the pizza is actually very good and sometimes mistakes are made. For tonight, im still sad about the complete lack of sauce and hopefully next time will be better. I don't know why I just paid $1.50 extra for extra tomato sauce when there's literally 0 sauce. The pizza tastes good but I wouldn't order extra sauce again. Since sauce is a big factor for us, I can't tell you if we will be back.

Just had the best pizza from Trio Romano. Fresh ingrediants and a fantastic pizza base. This is by far the best pizza on the Gold Coast. The service is amazing and we were well looked after. Thank you and we will be back for more.

I am sitting at a resort eating a small "special" pizza and drinking a beer. I normally like to dine inn and enjoy the atmosphere of a restaurant but the lady serving although nice kept saying and assuming it was going to be a take away order whick made me feel obliged to leave. At the end of the day the pizza was nice 7.5/10 the sauce needs work and the ham tasted cheap.

The owner snatched my pizza out of my hand threw it in the bin out the front of the venue, grabbed a $20 note and slapped it in my hand after I politely asked him to step out side to discuss my pizza so I didn't embarrass his 21st party. I was in utter shock. The scene he caused out the front was so immature. I regret showing respect the talk to him out the front. Absolutely disgusting customer service.

We had dinner there and the food was delicious, the service was very friendly and fast and the price was reasonable. We had a booking for 6 at 730 and had been served, eaten and paid all by 845 on a Saturday night with a full restaurant. The only negative feed back I can give is the place could do with a face lift but apart from that we were very happy with our night. Thank, we will be back next time we are in town.

WORST PIZZA I EVER TRIED NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY I ordered half pepperoni half vegetarian which came with 6 pieces of pineapple and 5 of capsicum. Pepperoni was burnt and in both I couldn't taste the cheese at all! There wasn't much for say the less, nor flavor neither freshness on the veggies. Wouldn't come here again and NOT RECOMMEND to any one, definitely there's better pizzas in the area couple of blocks away.

Definitely Best Italian food on the Gold Coast! Authentic Real flavour! I’m half Italian and travelled all over the world and can say at this restaurant you can be guaranteed whatever dish you order you will be satisfied and very happy!

didnt even get to eat! made a booking for Friday night they said come in and that we would need to get drinks from somewhere as they were not licensed, we told them we were coming from Emerald Lakes in a uber, when we arrived the lady at the front told us they were closing and we took too long to get there (30 mins) it was 8pm on a Friday night and thats how long it took to get a uber, stop at the bottle shop and arrive. Disgusting! annoying and frustrating and a waste of our money to get there, so rude. we went next door to the lovely Japanese, lamp bistro and they kindly accommodated us. We will never go back, this place obviously didnt want our hard earned money.

shocking experience, booked and ubered there with a bottle shop stop only to be told they decided to close up, at 8pm on a Friday night that is just ridiculous. Waste of our time and money getting there, we will now never go back and try the food, service is everything to us and they obvious have zero of it.

Very disappointed. The food was very average and the prices were more than 30% more than the menu online. The serves were small and the ambience was terrible. It felt like we were sitting in a takeaway place and it was so hot that we were all dripping with sweat. For these prices we could have had a quality meal at an upmarket Italian restaurant.

Terrible.. Overpriced pizza with no toppings no flavour.. Was an absolute joke of a dinner and a waste of money. Can highly recommend anyone to NOT visit this place

Bought takeaway pizza from here after reading good reviews online (on holidays so no idea where is best). We were disappointed overall - very few toppings on our pizza (we were shocked at how meagre they were), boring bland garlic bread, and both were cold when we picked up at the time suggested by the store when ordering. Definitely won't return. Tried Maries another night and it was amazingly better.

Best Italian on the Coast, hands down. Such a wonderful atmosphere, family owned with perfect staff and service. Garlic pizza bread is a must have.

Extremely overpriced for what you get. My steak was nice but the soggy, cold, frozen vegetables weren't. My sons extremely small "kids" bowl of pasta (without sauce) cost $19! The service was good until we asked for our drinks (which were forgotten) then we were made to feel like we inconvenienced them.. Not ever going back..

Not Bad?. We have been busting to eat here, hearing so many rave reviews. It was Okay, I think it was over priced for what it was actually. I have Veal which was $30, the produce would have been worth about $10. The service was good and you can see why people come back due to the family atmosphere. If I return, I will be sticking to the pizza and pasta which are reasonably priced.

We walked from the Turtle Beach Resort and were openly welcomed by the staff despite not having a reservation. Our dishes were filled with fresh home made pasta and flavours. A small and warm space with service that made you feel like family, thank you!

Delicious!. This place has been running 25yrs by the same family & produces food so flavoursome it must be prepared with love. Prices are average for current Gold Coast rates, portions are substantial, service comes with a smile & the food is lovely, the pasta freshly home made a plus. Menu includes entrees, pasta, pizza, salads, mains. Seafood, meat & vegetarian available.
Fri & Sat evenings can be busy so booking might be a good idea. We waited a little while for our food but we had no quams as the place (seats about25) was full & the food was great. We will return!
Parking is available behind shop, driveway entrance on Markeri St.

Yummy!. My ex and I used to eat at this BYO regularly. That was some years ago now and I hadn't been back until a few weeks ago.

We shared a delicious blue cheese loaf, which is done in the pizza often, which results in the cheese and edges of the bread crisping up in parts. My friend had the prawn fettucine, while I had the spinach and ricotta cannelloni. The flavour of both was great, and the prawns were fresh. We also shared a sticky date pudding with cream and ice cream.

Servings aren't all that large and prices are a little steep for the surroundings. We sat outside on the pavement. There is also indoor seating, but it's not a large restaurant so rather cramped.

Service is very friendly and efficient.

Nice suprise. On Saturday night, we were walking searching for a place to have dinner and decided to enter this small restaurant that was the only crowded around. Food was wonderful, tasty and fresh, pasta was al dente, I had a tender and lovely ossobucco and for dessert, the pecan pie was amazing. We came back on Thursday early night to have another wonderful pasta, upon my request, they prepared me a gorgeous Fettuccini Gorgonzola which wasn't in the menu. Although there were only two tables busy, few minutes later, the place was full.

Service was also good, there are a great variety of italian dishes, I mean, it's not a pizza and few pastas place, but you can find many entrees and main dishes. Bookings are recommended as the place is small, it's not a luxury location but you also have the takeaway as an alternative.

Not great dining. Went for a simple dinner. The interior felt a bit cramped and upon receiving a dirty spoon, was a bit put off the rest of the meal.

Given the price of entrees to be around $20, I expected them to be reasonably large, but the canelloni I received, which tasty enough, didn't fill me up. And while there was nothing wrong with my friend's salad, it was so simple it didn't really justify the almost $15.

I'm sure this place would probably be more preferable for takeaway as it wasn't the best casual dining experience.

The best take away Italian on the coast.

Trio Romano at Mermaid Beach is an authentic Italian restaurant, well hidden behind its pizza bar facade. While it may have begun as a pizza shop in the 1980s, Trio Romano shows off a family heritage of fine cuisine, transporting diners to the homestyle cooking of family restaurants of Northern Italy. Mario & Sandro Lanzi own and operate Trio Romano, taking over the reins of the family business after the opening of the upmarket restaurant Squisito (awarded Best Italian restaurant on the Gold Coast in 2009). Although Squisito is now closed, the legacy continues in Trio Romano, with wonderful homemade dishes enjoyed by a loyal clientele. The menu features many Italian classics: pizza, pastas, minestrone, crostino, veal and chicken, with the house specialty being Rolls Vesuvianna (veal, pork, bacon, rice and spices in cabbage leaves cooked in a tomato base). There’s also a specials board, with Wild Barramundi featured when we visited. Although it’
