It definitely was worth the drive to try these rolls. We love eating Nhu Lan in Footscray and thought these were quite pleasant. They are bigger, less salty, decent amount of meat/ veg. I reckon they’d be on part with Marrickville pork rolls. Absolutely delicious!!
Went back on another occasion and pork rolls were still yummy but extra fatty meat. Decent rolls though.
Sorry CT bakery, but you've just been rolled. This place has taken over as my favourite banh mi joint. These guys nail it, perfect balance of good quality meat and flavoursome vegetables and condiments. And service is bang on too! Win-win all round.
The best Vietnamese rolls in Adelaide! Nowhere else in comparison! One lemongrass chicken roll and two spring rolls completes an amazing but filling lunch under $10. You can't go wrong to order their tofu roll if you are vegetarian, fired tofu surprisingly goes really well with the roll as I thought the tofu roll would taste super dry in the mouth and ruins the whole flavour, but not at all! Highly recommended!
Great local Banh Mi spot if you don't want to drive out to Hanson Road. I don't eat pork but the chicken is well flavoured and generously applied to the roll. Fresh veggies too. Don't be put off by the overpowering fish sauce aroma when you enter the small shopfront!
These guys are always pumping out the Bahn Mi, with lines out along Goodwood Road most days of the week. Hint hint, get in there before 12pm if you don't want to wait!
I liked what I had, the roast pork was tender albeit a bit fatty (but when you're having pork belly it's a bit of a given). Generous amounts of meat, carrot, daikon and coriander but would have enjoyed a little more chilli. The sauces they put on had a nice flavour but made the rolls soggy within 10 minutes of getting them from the shop to home so note for next time: Eat them ASAP.
I guess because they're kind of just smashing them out it makes it a little difficult to regulate but overall a well-priced, tasty lunch option.
Small shop with limited seating. Small line up as it was lunch time but line moved fast. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about dietary requirements and ingredients. Unfortunately they had run out of vegetarian cold rolls and the Banh Mi rolls contained egg.
Fantastic Vietnamese rolls, and probably the best in Adelaide. . The service is quick and the bread rolls are fresh. The roast pork is the pick of the bunch. I highly recommend it.
Ticks the box but.... A decent roll but far from the best. I went in at 1pm and there was no roast pork left. Wow - fist time that has ever happened to me at a Vietnamese roll place. Either poor planning by the staff or there was a huge unexpected rush on roast pork rolls that day. I was offered the chicken roll as an alternative and took them up on the offer. The bread roll wasn't crunchy on the outside like some of Adelaides best rolls. Instead it was just a very soft bread roll. Maybe that's their thing and it seems to work for them based in the positive reviews. Very different to the Hanson road style bread roll though which I prefer. The chicken was ok but lacked any kick of flavour. The salad was all very fresh. For a quick roll it will certainly tick the box but...
Holy hell. Best damn tiger roll I've ever had.
Roast Pork Roll. Best $5.50 you will ever spend. delicious!
Excellent VDR, best in the area. Working back in my old stomping ground and trying to get around to all the banh mi shops that have opened recently(ish), going to Roll in Saigon today. Boo to not living nearby anymore! The service was quick, the roll large and well packed (could have done without onion, but that's no biggie), and the price fair ($5+ rather than $4+ elsewhere but worth it). No eftpos 4.5/5
Best Vietnamese Rolls in Adelaide.. Arrived at about 12.30 on a Saturday afternoon to find a line-up in the shop. Everyone was served quickly, but with care.
I ordered a grilled chicken roll (as usual), and it was awesome. Crispy outer on the roll and a nice soft middle, with really beautiful chicken. In my opinion, this is the best Vietnamese roll going around. I love it that the meat is kept warm - I feel it gives it more flavour and is nicer to eat.
Anybody who complains about the price should take into account the fact that this shop is, what, 2 kilometres from the city? The rolls are only about 50c to $1 more than anywhere in the Western suburbs, and are of way better quality.
Roll In Saigon is the place to go! Best rolls in town!
Fantastic rolls and at a great price. I'm not surprised that this tiny shop is always queued up to overflow with people hungry for the offerings available. The second one walks into the shop, the nose is treated with smells that gets the saliva flowing. OK perhaps that's just a touch too poetic but its true. As for the menu, Its a relatively simple affair which consists of the various combinations of freshly baked rolls filled with the meats of your choice and of coarse, the traditional veggies and warm chili. Then there's the cold rolls, spring rolls and noodle salads to add to the variety.
I have to say I'm extremely impressed with the food and since introducing it to workmates. I'm frequently asked as to when we shall have it again. Quite a thing since its a bit of a journey Glenunga to pick up the food but its well worth the journey! I wish I lived nearer so I could order more often.
$7 noodles bowls. For $7 the cold noodle salad with chicken and roast pork (with crackling) is a steal. The place is crazy popular so get in early before lunch is my tip e.g.11:30 am. tip: they give you a sauce for the noodles, using only 1/3 seams do the trick, using it all is over kill and makes it too sweet/sour
Love a good vietnamese roll!! Yumm
Good quality and price. Nice selection of foods in addition to the meat rolls.
Shouldn't be too long before there is a lineup of hipsters out the door when they get sick of bacon and eggs across the road at Gingers.
Yum! So happy to finally have decent vietnamese rolls in the area! Very well priced too heaps of filling! And got the vegetarian roll and was filled full of delicious tofu! HOT chilli! Was all around yum!

Banh Mi Adelaide suburban roundup - Comments: Good tasting overall, good bread - crunchy. Average pork - some bits were chewy while some bits were hard and dry. Carrot seemed a bit bland. Final Score: 14.6/20
