I had a great meal at the Lounge Bar at the Victoria Hotel. The food was great, but it was the service that really impressed me. The waitress was so friendly and helpful, and the shift manager was more than happy to alter a meal deal to suit my preference. They were both proactive and anticipated what I needed... My second beer arrived without me having to say a thing... :)
I stopped here for lunch. The building renovation is lovely. The food was good. There were some problems with my drinks order (twice) but they were corrected by the professional staff. Well worth a visit. Next time I’d like to get a room for a night.
There was one thing I didn’t like which was the electronic ordering system which suggests a tip. Firstly we are not in the US (and tipping culture should be discouraged in my view). Secondly, if a tip is appropriate then it should be at the end of the meal not at the ordering stage.
We arrived for lunch and we were warmly greeted and advised of the seating choices and ordering choices. We chose the QR code system, very user friendly. From the menu we opted for the seniors menu thinking the portion sizes smaller for lunch, we were wrong. The portions were still a very decent size.
We were very well attended to without intrusion.
We were also advised of a bus service that picks up from the caravan park.
Highly recommend this venue and when back this way will definitely be coming back.
Enjoyed a lunch at the Victoria Hotel when passing through. Nice dining area, complete with fireplace & online meal ordering. Menu offers pub classics, more specials would be good to suit budgets, otherwise we enjoyed our meal & service.
Our lunch of Dijon & Herb Crusted Lamb Rack at the Victoria Hotel was amazing. It was tasty, tender and served with Mediteranian Mash and Gratin Vegetables. Every element in the meal was superbly cooked and presented. This is one Michelin-level Chef!
