Authentic Cantonese cooking. The staff here are very attentive and informative. The food is very tasty without being oily and salty. Will definitely come here to eat again.

Wonderful service by the waiters and very attentive. The Chinese cuisine served here is delicious and authentic. Definitely a restaurant I will keep going back to. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food you receive. Everyone left with a full stomach and enjoyed all the food.

We have been dining at Choyan for the last 30 years during which time the food had always been good. Nothing exceptional, but still good. Our takeaway meal on Wednesday night this week was a shocker. Fried rice was very bland, the Sweet and sour pork was tasteless and over fried, the salt and pepper seafood was only half full. Not sure whats going on here. Maybe a change of chef or change of owner. Either way, we will be trying somewhere else in future.

We have been customers at this restaurant for over 10 years, both eating there & home deliveries. Today I ordered sweet & sour fish fillets, Dry Fried Shredded Beef with Mandarin Sauce & large Steamed Rice all dishes we have enjoyed in the past, BUT this time it was TERRIBLE. The cost was $58.10 for the worst meal we have ever had from there. I phoned & asked for the manager who the person answering said he was. I then explained that I wanted to complain that the Steamed Rice was not delivered, the Dry Fried Shredded Beef had the mandarin sauce poured over it so when it arrived it was all stuck together & inedible & the Sweet & Sour Sauce appeared to have come out a bottle, as it had no pineapple pieces as it normally has. I was so disappointed that I had phoned & spoken to the manager who said the rice had been left out of the delivery & we should in future order the beef with the sauce delivered separately. He suggested that the next time we order he will not charge for the rice. I am most disappointed that no responsibility was taken or refund offered & no way that I can be assured of credit for the very poor quality of service. Leo Sommerich phone no. 80219001

I have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. The food is always good and fresh. I have dined in and I also get delivery. It is a North Shore Institution.

The first time that I visited the Choyan was about 38 years ago. It had a name for good quality food and service back then and nothing has changed. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. Whether you are looking for a quiet dinner for two, or a banquet for ten, this is the place to come. We had one of the chef's specials, salt an pepper mixed seafood, honey king prawns and chilli fillet steak. All of which had generous servings and were full of flavour. The honey king prawns were the best we had had in quite a while.

To be honest a subpar suburban Chinese restaurant. Staff were quite pushy to order quickly despite the lack of other customers. Food was very average. Quite oily and processed.

Excellent, personable customer service! Very nice and very experienced wait staff. They were accommodating to me when I asked for tomato rice with the crispy skin chicken too. Definitely want to come back here!
